Epic battle fantasy 5: Great turn based JRPG game. You can grind a little stats but generally 99% of your power comes from intelligently building your skills/equipment/passives. It's also funny

Fuga 2 memories of steel: You've been warned that it has some nasty tragedy if you don't do so well. You're kinda supposed to fail and reset so it's not overly punishing, but the time travel/reset is kidna needed to appreciate the effort to get the good ending.

Potionomics, cute potion crafting, visual novel ish game of running a shop and selling potions. Have lots of people to date,

Can second that it's funny. Can't second that it isn't grindy. Maybe? I don't know whether I'm remembering 4 or 5.

I played the original. On Armorgames, back when flash games were a thing. Zombie Goku was a biiiiiitch.

The later ones went full RPG, but the first one was pure battle, with your characters at Level 99 with all items to start with, and it was up to you to figure out how to win with that.

You don't have to grind stats, I'll admit, but most of the items/quests/etc are behind enemies to the point where you have to fight at least 75% of the many many battles to complete things.

I'll be honest the very first Soul Cannon use hit. But yeah, it's looking like 3 is going to be the saddest of the lot. From what I have heard CC2 added a new mechanic that if one of the kids gets too depressed they will jump into the Soul Cannon on their own.

Sony did their State of Play thing. The funny thing is, the games I was really interested in (Digimon Time Stranger, Nioh 3, and Bloodstained: the Scarlet Engagement) are all basically guaranteed to be on other systems eventually. Digimon we already know will be, Bloodstained also had an Xbox trailer which means it'll be on PC too, and Team Ninja has ported all of their other games to PC eventually.

Also fuck yes, Nioh 3 and Bloodstained.

I can definitely tell that the Nioh guys learned a ton from Wo Long. If it's anything like it, Nioh 3 is going to kick ass. Too bad Wo Long continues the long chain of 3 Kingdoms games not actually featuring the 3 Kingdoms.
 
They also seem to have brought in the class/build swapping thing from Final Fantasy Chaos Killer so that's neat.

Problems are most of the aspects of sound apart from the effects are quiet, voices coming in second loudest and music something that sneaks up on you until you suddenly realise its there.

Shit I forgot about this game till you said it. Many a fond memory of going off the beaten path and getting absolutely shat on by some boss 50 levels above me.
 
Oh hey, Nioh 3's getting a PC release from the get go.
