Enjoy what got un-lost over the years.

To give a personal example:
For a long time, a childhood favorite of mine, a French-Canadian cartoon called "Malo Korrigan and the Space Tracers", or known as "Malo Space Trucker" here in Germany, was my White Whale. It ws an episodic show about the crew of a freight hauler, the Starduke, under its captain, the titular Malo Korrigan. It had a nice, almost Space Western feel at times, with neat bits of worldbuilding here and there, such as the small ships having no gravity inside them (nor inertia either, so people float even under thrust), leading to several episodes where the crew eats liquid food through a straw, and the fact that Earth was seemingly "lost" in some way, either simply forgotten, destroyed, or just irrelevant, with Earth-based things, such as certain foods or plants, being obscure rarities (Humanity itself seems fine though, as there is no shortage of Human secondary or reoccurring characters, especially as Space Truckers or "Tracers", so it doesn't seem to be a case of Humanity being endangered or something).

I could never find it, trying to hunt down whatever scraps I could. DVDs were long out of print, since we are talking about a cartoon that was made around 2000-2001, and the usual (totally legitimate) sites for that didn't have anything either. Even worse, the English version is completely lost, as there were no DVDs of it at all, at least to my knowledge, meaning if there was a more "international" audience for it, that could help keeping it alive, they wouldn't have a way to watch it in a comprehensible manner.

However, just this Saturday, by complete random chance, I found a Youtube channel that has begun uploading the old episodes, and makes them public one by one. Which was an incredibly pleasant surprise. On top of that, on a secondary channel, they also have the English versions as well, even if two episodes seem to lack the vocal tracks.

Got to look on the bright side of things.

Sounds like you should also download those episodes in some way for preservation purposes, just in case the channel gets taken down.
 
For some reason I want to do a collaborative worldbuilding project that turns the western hemisphere into a Weird Fiction setting but I don't know how to start.

At the moment I just have the Confederation of New Jotunheim covering Greenland and Newfoundland. Which is furry Norse-Inuit far-northeast Canada with amphibious Akhlut Chariots and muskox ranches.

Hey I'm new here. I like Worm so I made an account to read some Worm Fanfiction on this site.
 
Was down at the beach this morning, tried meditating while focusing on the sound/smell/feeling of the ocean. Waves coming in gives the air a specific feeling, it was nothing huge like in a surfing movie, just noticeable.
No cosmic experiences this morning, but it was easy to maintain while focusing on the Gulf like that and when my alarm went off after about an hour I felt pretty invigorated.

Not bad results at all, I think I'll be adding meditation to my regular schedule

I have been reading fanfiction for a miniscule 9 years and I think I've depleted the other regular websites, exhausted the better stories there. I was browsing for fanfiction as one does and got a recommendation to this website, I was dissapointed when I couldn't access the content so made an account.

I just found out today the lady on Youtube (Savesafox) that rescues foxes killed herself because she was being harassed by dickless, cowardly pieces of shit. Fucking coward cunts deserve to rot in hell.
 
Earlier today I was involved in a car accident. Parking lot at Costco, I check both way before going to another parking lot. An SUV comes out of nowhere from the left. I try to break as does the other driver but its too late. The SUV rams my Toyota Corolla right in the front left tire area. Insurance won't cover anything because they claim I'm the one at fault despite I'm the one getting rammed. My car is now sitting in a tow company yard for the night before they drop it off in my driveway. It can't be driven due to damage to the left tire area (the whole area is caved in) but the rest of the car seems fine and there was no damage to the engine or the engine block. Repairs will still likely total around $2-3K according to the tow truck guys I asked.

On top of that I injured my left knee in the crash (started out as just a scrape, then became a major bruise when the adrenaline faded, but now I'm starting to suspect muscle damage as well) on top of the bruise on the left side of my head (minor concussion?). It was too late for the walk-in clinic (I don't have a family doctor because I live in modern day Canada), but I have an appointment booked tomorrow morning. Insurance started a injury claim but I think they'll try to squirrel their way out of paying anything if they can.

Just another day in Canada.
 
I almost forgot, I had a dream involving some sort of comady where a character was complaining about his coworkers fighting. Said coworkers being a 40K ork and a transhuman biohazard sphere-thing. There may have been better words for it but I don't have a dream journal.

Also any suggestions for finding non-standard Soda? I abhor corn syrup and find it weird that I have an easier time finding a variety of liqueur than non-Coke/Pepsi-co soda.
 
It's been an interesting few days.

Was back at the river Sunday to take advantage of the lack of afternoon rain to get some swimming and meditation time in.

Did the meditation after the swimming and ooooh boy, it got pretty neat up inside my head. Focusing on the sounds of the oddly unoccupied area, water moving, wind blowing, that sort of thing as I cleared my thoughts and just went with it I started feeling the world around me. It was like… I could feel the grass moving like it was my skin, I could feel the water moving like the bank of the river was part of me, or the wind blowing through me like I was the trees around me.
It was pretty amazing, in all honesty. It took time to properly process it. Spent three hours feeling the world around me like I was Swamp Thing or something.
Been doing daily meditation since, but the weather has had me keeping it in my car, not nearly as effective.
Cleared out some bitterness too. The guy who was gonna have me working under the table for him had essentially closed shop and taken a staycation due to the weather.
The meditation helps deal with the freak out impending from that because I was counting on that to keep me ahead of my bills and shit and instead Im on short rations again and running out of gas.

Still, psychedelic experience without any drugs is pretty neat.

I found the trick to it: fasting

After finding out my guy is going to not have any work for awhile because he's well situated to take a vacation after all, my stress level went through the roof.
I had held off on eating since yesterday anyway since I got no way to get more food once what little I have is gone I held off longer and settled in to meditate.
It took a little while, but I got there. No aches, no hunger, no fear, just a constant feeling of motion. Plus, even after, I don't feel hungry anymore.
Fell asleep towards the end.
I just wish the fear stayed away too.

Honestly, considering my emergency food is one or two meals worth of dehydrated chicken cheese rice, discovering that I can put off eating by meditation was a godsend.
I can eat that stuff, but it honestly does make me feel sick and gives me the shits.

I'm probably gonna have to flee fucking Florida eventually if I can't get off the streets. The heat may be good for ecstatic head trip meditating but it's bad for me. Especially when water is in short supply

Still can confirm that a real head trip can be unlocked by adding fasting and heat to your meditation

Used the last of my really nice bottled water to make some dehydrated cheese chicken and rice. I haven't been enjoying that crap too much and this time it made me vomit.
Which sucks all manner of dick.
So now I'm dehydrated, hungry, and very disgruntled in general because the smell of outdoor grilling is permeating the environment so much that it's distracting me from meditating.
Why are people grilling before noon?

God the heat feels like it's squeezing the life out of me

As the day has worn on the smell of barbecuing has gotten thick in the air and my hunger for it has become like a sickness.
Takes my mind off the heat. Which had deranged me enough earlier that I was halfway through locating a house with a pool to break into their yard and jump in.
But that would be a stupid thing to go to jail for.
I realized how bad the numbness in my feet is a short while ago when I noticed I'd been walking around without my sandals all day and not felt any different.
But good god, I would do violence for a hot dog or hamburger or something from a grill right now. I'm fully past the vomiting this morning.

Got the hell scared out of me this morning. Woke up and my left arm, my whole left arm, was tingly, numb, and I couldn't really move it.
With my history of heart problems this was terrifying.
It ended up clearing up fast once I sat up and rubbed some circulation into it.

Never did manage to get something to eat yesterday, that plus the mild level of dehydration have me feeling pretty weak today.
Can't really avoid the dehydration, it's just too hot and I can't keep up.
Got messaged by my insurance today, they expect to be paid on Monday, another worry for the anxiety pile

Edit: also I haven't had caffeine in days and, which hurts a lot

Well, today has sucked.

Almost all of my attention is focused on distracting myself from how I feel. Additionally, the heat makes me feel simultaneously really tired and too uncomfortable to fall asleep.

Above all though, before my insurance bill, before gas, before anything else, I desperately want to eat something. I actually would kill for a fuckin hot dog right now
