Good point. I'll pretty much read anything Wrand has Shirogane do. As long as it's written well as to why she does thingsOne doesn't needs to take it too seriously, in this world and even if she's not obsessed with the victories, doing something that she likes and finding new ways to make more money and still keep in contact with sme of the things she likes; I think it was said before for her this life is like a vacation, and she's doing her best to enjoy it.
What if she realizes that its only when she's running and manages to get a these magic sfx flashes that she can tap into magic again. That her dream goes from make her make her grandparents retire to make money and fly with her magic? So I think that there does need to be something else, if her career is going to be actually long and not cut short from lack of motivation.
Sadly, while we've seen her using some very minor magic, Shirogane doesn't have a computation orb, so outright flight and honestly probably all of her major spells are impossible in this life, with such specifically called out in both chapters 2 and 19.What if she realizes that its only when she's running and manages to get a these magic sfx flashes that she can tap into magic again. That her dream goes from make her make her grandparents retire to make money and fly with her magic?
The wind pulled at her face and ears, her blood pulsed through her veins, and she felt her muscles strain as she put them to greater use than she had before in this life, reaching a speed she was quite sure she had never been able to manage on foot in her past lives, but still felt sluggishly slow from the lingering instincts of the Soldier.
That was ridiculous. Shirogane could not fly, but that did not change her sense of inadequacy.
A flicker of memory, and she parted the air before her, the wind lowering just slightly, not enough for her to gain much speed, but enough that her passage was easier.
Had she still the Soldier's magic it would not be a grave issues, but alas, no such mechanism existed in this new world, and Shirogane found herself idly running the back of the blade against the studded knuckles of her gauntlet, a shiver of delight coursing through her at the sound of steel running over steel.
And she doesn't have any impetus to ever make one. Feels like a bit too much of cheating to make racing easier like that as well.
I don't think she's capable of it anyways. She was a soldier not a magical engineer. And she doesn't have any impetus to ever make one. Feels like a bit too much of cheating to make racing easier like that as well.
