  • For prospective new members, a word of warning: don't use common names like Dennis, Simon, or Kenny if you decide to create an account. Spammers have used them all before you and gotten those names flagged in the anti-spam databases. Your account registration will be rejected because of it.
  • Since it has happened MULTIPLE times now, I want to be very clear about this. You do not get to abandon an account and create a new one. You do not get to pass an account to someone else and create a new one. If you do so anyway, you will be banned for creating sockpuppets.
  • Due to the actions of particularly persistent spammers and trolls, we will be banning disposable email addresses from today onward.

First ever time posting a thread. No idea if I'm doing it right.

Anyways do infraction points eventually reset because I did a 'rule 7 necro' I think it's called. I'm not that knowledgeable about the rules and meanings like 'necro' so never knew I messed up. Not complaining about the infraction just wondering if the fraction points reset

They often expire over time.

Go to your profile. There should be a section near the top with labels like "profile posts", "activity", and "about". Now that you've taken a warning, there should be a label visible only to you that says "warnings". Clicking on that should tell you about the warnings you have, including things like "whether the points expire" and "when the points expire".

I see it, thank you

On QQ, infraction points only exist as a software implementation detail. It doesn't matter how many points you have or what the expiration dates are.

We make decisions about penalties for rulebreaking based in part on a user's prior infraction history. For this, we generally look backward for a window of about two years. But this only really comes up for the case of repeat offenders; getting one necro warning will not affect anything at all.

Have the staff ever considered moving the necro warning to the top of the last page? I've occasionally messed up and been saved by the automated warning.
