Honestly it'd be funny if both Travis and Ash actually had the same dad.

Not gonna lie, I was getting so sad until I realized where you were going with that, lol. Happy that you're enjoying it so far! There is a great disappointment in this fic, and that is that the chapters go down like water, leaving the reader at the end surprised that it is already finished - and wanting for more.
Aka: good job, please moare.
Barely noticeable beneath the firelight, a faint blue glow slowly settled into his half-lidded eyes.
Richie is the Psychic of the looks like Ash family. (Though that could be me remembering another fic)Going back to the funny half-brothers idea, given that Ash is predisposed to Aura it'd be cool to see Travis lean towards Psychic. Not to be amazingly strong, just good enough to be talented at the basics, especially given his upbringing with Alakazam.
Admittedly it was a quick search, but i couldn't find anything about Richie being psychic.Richie is the Psychic of the looks like Ash family. (Though that could be me remembering another fic)
I'm pretty sure you read Ashes of the Past by Saphroneth over on Fanfiction.net, and got it mixed up with canon, lol.Richie is the Psychic of the looks like Ash family. (Though that could be me remembering another fic)
I couldn't help the small smirk that pulled at my lips. My fingers settled between Pichu's ears, gently rubbing through his fur as he continued chewing.
His eyelids had begun to droop just enough that his gaze lost some of its focus, his chewing slowing another fraction as he stared somewhere beyond the campsite without actually looking at anything.
Barely noticeable beneath the firelight, a faint blue glow slowly settled into his half-lidded eyes.
Pichu didn't react. He simply took another sleepy bite of Chesto Berry and leaned slightly into my hand, looking for all the world like he was half-asleep while everyone else talked around him.
My smile widened.
I'm a little confused about the last scene, Chesto Berries are supposed to wake Pokemon up and it was mentioned that Pichu is Sassy, which looks to be ambivalent about dry flavored foods...what am I missing?
So, unless there's some lore or game mechanics around Chesto Berries, Natures, Psychic-Types to-be and taste preferences I'm missing, I think Travis is putting his Pichu into a half-asleep state to meditate and strengthen his Psychic potential, preparing him for his eventual Dual Typing. Maybe even get a Psychic-Type Move early. The Chesto is to make sure he doesn't fall asleep and stays stuck in that trance-like state.Ooooh, bringing out some of that psychic energy, guess learning to use it now will help later Reflect or Light Screen I assume?
Ding! Ding! Ding! We have a winner! So, unless there's some lore or game mechanics around Chesto Berries, Natures, Psychic-Types to-be and taste preferences I'm missing, I think Travis is putting his Pichu into a half-asleep state to meditate and strengthen his Psychic potential and prepare him for his eventual Dual Typing, maybe even get a Psychic-Type Move early. As for why he's reluctant to eat it, taste profiles aside, that state is, in my personal experience, uncomfortable, especially if you're tired and want to go to sleep.
Is it at least a Lava Cookie? Genuinely always wanted to try one of those in real life.(Oh, and here's a cookie. Not a real cookie, but now the idea of a cookie is in your head, and you want one. You're welcome : )
