As many other posters have noticed, our tag system sucks and needs improvement. My particular complaint is that the tags don't apply to the base forum view. You can filter them out of search results if you're willing to enter everything you dislike into every search you make, but you can't save that blacklist and have it apply to the default page view the way you can when searching images on a 'booru or doujins on Sadpanda.

The utility of this feature on an NSFW site ought to be obvious, but it would also be useful for eliminating the bottomless pit of CYOA-based fics that clog the front pages of every board and hide real stories from getting more attention. I want to never see the words waifu catalog or chaos gacha in that order ever again.

You can save a list of the tags you want to exclude as normal text somewhere, for example:

'waifu catalog, cyoa, chaos gacha, jumpchain, worm cyoa, gacha, rule 34 economy, celestial grimoire, celestial forge, the company fucks everyone, wiki warrior, essence meta, essence cyoa, inspired inventor, the company, essence, tinker of fiction, slut life, celestial, celestial dojo, celestial menagerie'

(Modify as needed.)

Then just paste that into the search or filter exclusion box. This process has the initial set-up time of choosing which tags you want to exclude, but once you have your list it'll only take 10 seconds at most each time. If using the subforum filter, you can also bookmark the particular subforum page you've already applied your exclusion list to, which will save that filter list in the URL, so you can just go directly to that bookmark (which further reduces the time spent to only a few second each time).

Bookmarking the 'search everything' tag exclusion search is a bit more complicated, but I'll add that process to this post in a minute.

-going to that bookmarked page will take you to the 'search everything' page with the excluded tags already filled out, but not yet searched.

This is necessary because just bookmarking the first URL doesn't bring you to actively updating search results, but a static one.
