  • QQ will have forum downtime on October 21, starting at 10:00 AM Eastern time, for software updates.
  • Due to issues with external spam filters, QQ is currently unable to send any mail to Microsoft E-mail addresses. This includes any account at live.com, hotmail.com or msn.com. Signing up to the forum with one of these addresses will result in your verification E-mail never arriving. For best results, please use a different E-mail provider for your QQ address.
  • For prospective new members, a word of warning: don't use common names like Dennis, Simon, or Kenny if you decide to create an account. Spammers have used them all before you and gotten those names flagged in the anti-spam databases. Your account registration will be rejected because of it.
  • Since it has happened MULTIPLE times now, I want to be very clear about this. You do not get to abandon an account and create a new one. You do not get to pass an account to someone else and create a new one. If you do so anyway, you will be banned for creating sockpuppets.
  • Due to the actions of particularly persistent spammers and trolls, we will be banning disposable email addresses from today onward.

AO3 will be down for 2-4 weeks, can the mods please keep an eye on if too many new people joining is negatively effecting site culture?

I know this might be presumptuous of me to ask and I apologise but, I really like this site and given that 2-4 weeks is (I think) definitely past the point people will look for new sites can the mods please keep an eye on an influx of new users? I dont know what form that could take whether it just be being very strict on the rules for abit or pausing registrations I don't know. again I am sorry if I'm asking too much or speaking outside my place but this is (to me) one of my favourite websites.

Wtf? That long? Will their site even survive after that point?
Also, I like Naruto.

Yeah I know I cant ever remember their site being down so long, its crazy i don't even know how bad whatever happened must've been to cause that.

and yeah I do like Naruto, the name came from a time where I had only read fanfiction of Naruto without ever watching the actual series which I only did after being immersed in the fandom for like 3 months lol.

The Ao3 site never went down for that long.
All the fic data, bookmarks comments etc. is safe, but theyre advising users to change passwords (if they used he same one that's on ao3 for something else), meanwhile the site will stay down to investigate and patch security vulnerabilities
