Governor's Gambit - Star Wars SI into Imperial Governor

"Pitiful creature, your skills are so lackluster your family should disown you!" They yelled into the mic.

As the child on the other end cried, they spotted Las in the corner of their eye, rubbing his forehead in annoyance.

Good.

Perhaps these 'games' were worth something after all.
That's how a Sith became a Gamer :D

When Governor Mola had been given control of the Edin system, she had been initially thrilled. A new system, full of criminals. Being the highest ranking naval officer in the MSDF, she was bound to be put in charge of cleaning up the system. Success here would be a boon to her resume.

If only said boon wasn't the most infuriating thing.

Every time they crushed a pirate base, or quelled attacks, more popped up. Less and less overtime, true, but it wasn't nearly as fast as she wished.
Why do I get the feeling all this experience will come in really handy if some Rebels try something.
So, to see how much Sabrir was able to do was something of a shock. Especially with the Guild. It wasn't there at first glance, but if you took a closer look, there were patterns.

When certain corporations got too large, mercenary companies hogged too many contracts, mining conglomerates took too many claims, they failed. It wasn't a precise thing, mind you. It never quite felt like a pattern, at least not at first. The reasons for the companies either falling apart or downsizing were usually valid.

Evidence of corruption. Overdue fees. Key employee's leaving without the company being able to replace them.

Yet, it always happened when they got too big. It fit, if you think about it.

The Guild was not the place for monopolies.

Still, it was a necessary piece of the plan. The Guild brought with it a bevy of mercenaries. And Imperial contracts got priority, after all.
That is a startling amount of power for Darna to wield. Combine that with the Web and she can "solve" all sorts of problems if they pop up.
Admirable, and an opportunity. After all, to be in command of whichever force defends said yards would be a more prestigious position, especially if the yards become more important to the Sector. It would not be the kind of posting that advances a career, due to the lack of glory, but one that could get her in contact with the more political side of the navy. An aspect she had been sorely lacking in.
Don't worry Veers. Give it some time and soon you will be begging to stop getting involved in politics. Although stronger ties to the Navy will pay excellent dividends for Las going forward. Being in charge of their repair and resupply point is one heck of a lever.
Raider-class corvette
Imperial Customs Corvette
Vigil-class corvette
An all around decent selection with plenty of demand to scale into. Going all Imperial design means you will never be hurting for customers. Combine that with the previous ship catalog and the TIE factories and Minda can pretty much supply any minor Governor with all their ship building needs for the entire Civil War.

Sure a system navy made up of only those designs won't stand up to a Rebel War Fleet. However the Rebels don't have many War Fleets, much less ones in the Galactic North Rim.

No what most Governors in the region will be facing will be fighter squads, militarized freighters, and maybe a couple of corvettes if the Rebel Cell or Pirate Crew is a bit more oversupplied than normal in your system. Really even the base Imperial Customs Corvette could handle a majority of what the Rebels and pirates will be fielding 1v1.

Anything bigger and the local fleet should be able to hold out until the Sector Fleet can step in. And something bigger is definitely something the Sector Fleet would be interested in.

Just spamming loads of corvettes into the Sector would go a long way to discouraging Rebel interplanetary coordination. A majority of communication between cells is done in person or via messenger. Which gets really hard to do when said system is filled with costal/system patrol vessels. Suddenly sending a messenger becomes a heck of a lot more risky. Especially if an intercepted message can lead to the recipient or the delivering cell being uncovered.

The Rebels main military strategy is to be such a big problem all over the sector that the Sector fleet is unable to put out all the fires and stretching itself thin. However if the System Defense Fleets can extinguish the embers before they become fires, then the strategy starts falling apart.
"...You fail to understand something. The Scarred Hand is not a part of the Alliance. While you play at freedom fighter, offering such weak things as mercy to the Enemy, we do not. We shall burn the Empire to the ground, annihilate the very foundation upon which it stands. Minda is but the first."
A reminder that just because a group is rebelling against the Empire, that doesn't mean they fall under Rebel Alliance command. Plenty of groups have their own interpretation of how to wage war against the Empire and Alliance Command is just desperately trying to herd them all in the same general direction.

Also judging by the Scarred Hand's rhetoric, they plan to go full scorched earth tactics. Something which I am sure will greatly endear Minda's populace to the Rebel Cause. Soon Minda will not only be an Imperial Stronghold, but an Anti-Rebel one as well.

If you're still thinking of possible games, I have a very profitable and EEEEVIIILLLL one in mind. A Star Wars RTS based Gacha game called 'Among Shattered Stars'. The 'characters' would be ships, with 'weapons' taking the form of turbo lasers, ion cannons, missiles and other ship armaments along with 'accessories' taking the forms of stuff like onboard systems and various physical upgrades like a strengthened hull of higher output engines and thrusters.

For Glory. A melee styled fighting game that took three different fictional factions and pitted them against each other.
Oh no she got bit by the alt universe Ubisoft bug lmao.... now make her play league and CS that'll really get her dark side juices flowing hahaha. Make her spend the imperial vault on gacha, loot boxes, cosmetics while she's at it hahaha.

ngl thought it would be saw gerrera group as the radicals
I recall that Saw Gerrera leads the Partisans, but they are still a very radical group by the Rebellion's standards.
Sadly Gerrera and his unit are dead according to Rouge One but a splinter cell born from Gerrera's ideology is possible or even someone he mentored.
I remember that bit. I always thought it was kind of stupid how he died. I mean, "I can't come with you. I'm done running." when that was legitimately the only sane option he could have taken when the Death Star struck at Jedha City.

Saw had been fighting for multiple decades, missing large parts of his body replaced with low grade cybernetics, hated by his allies, and was confined to an uncomfortable life support suit lugging it around his body like a portable oxygen tank. It was less a taking a stupid option and more finally allowing the Empire to pull his life support. Still stupid, but Force darn it that man must have been sick of living.

I swear if toxic gaming make the Sith join light side I will fall of my chair laughing
He'll play the star wars equivalent of getting over it and go so completely apeshit he'll transcend rage and reach nirvana, coming out the otherside a pinical of jedi stoicism. Or detonate like a dark side bomb, either or.

Holy shit, Myr'thos became a Gamer!
Soon he shall employ the most esoteric and eldritch speech.
Known as Gamer Words!
He will be more powerful than any Jedi or Sith in existence soon.

Looks like someone might be getting a good posting after the pirate hunting.
And the production of good ships will go a long way.
A very long way.
Especially since shit is going down in the background.

Aeeeeiiiggghhhh!
Our Governor will never know peace.
Now we have idiot radicals coming to our door.
Someone get the shotgun because someone's about to invade our lawn!
