The Dream League IS a canon thing, to be fair. It was introduced in S3 of the Pretty Derby anime as a thing Gold Ship can move onto when she retires. We just have very little specifics about it beyond "special racing league for popular retired runners." And even the "popular" part is dubious.

Short answer: yes.
In a different set of circumstances, Shirogane might consider that option, probably if it becomes clear the old families are in decline. With her family and their restaurant, however, Shirogane feels compelled to have someone to pass on the family business to, so isn't going to be as mercenary about marriage. Plus, she has an example of decent child rearing now, so she'd be a bit skeptical of the efficacy of this kind of mercenary child rearing.
Pretty much any job that requires standing for long periods of time or covering significant distances on foot would be fairly appealing to umas, so working in a warehouse for deliveries, park ranger, or tour guides, etc.
There does seem to be some parallels there.
It's less that the Tulip Sho is favored for her and more that it's the least bad option for the Triple Tiara trial races (on paper), because it's the longest at 1600m while the other two are 1400m.
Basically this. While the Yayoi Sho is 2000m and at Nakayama, which is pretty good for Shirogane normally, it's the higher grade one that many of her classmates are going to be running. Classmates that she notably cannot regularly beat at this distance.
He's likely to appear periodically as a side character. Most of the side characters I made up for Shirogane's early life serve as perspectives or people to add in watching her career.
Again, the Tokyo Daishoten is one of the two big G1 Dirt races in Japan at the time (along with February Stakes), so it could be said to be roughly analogous to the Arima Kinen (and has a comparable, if lesser, prize pool), so it would be inaccurate to say that she's running in a low prestige race, though dirt generally is seen as lower status in Japan. Though it would be a bit unusual for primarily turf racer to turn down a spot in the Arima Kinen if there wasn't any health concerns.
It would rankle Grass Wonder quite a bit, since Shirogane is one of her bigger competitors at longer races (even if the Arima Kinen isn't actually super long).
If you count hours of training and intensity, Shirogane trains the longest and the hardest among her class, in significant part because she's breezing through most of the academic portions, and is not handicapped by such things as leisure activities. (That might actually be a mechanic for the uma Shiro, where she sometimes refuses to go on an outing or rest).

While Shirogane has hit puberty, because she's training so much she's mostly tiring herself out sufficiently that it isn't really affecting her that significantly. Aside from days she has races, where she doesn't train until near exhaustion and is more hyped up on adrenaline.
A lot of it is the two of them vibing on the same wavelength, and Shirogane finding Tensei a bit amusing, kinda like how you might see a much younger brother. It helps that they have a relatively similar way of seeing the world.
Haru already thought Shiro was a ninja after she got surprised once. Shirogane manged to convince her otherwise though.

Oof, pair that with her ability to over work through failures, and no negatives for low moods. Her stat boosts are gonna be hamstrung for anything that isn't Stamina or Wit. Somebody get this bitch a Harakitte Ikou.
Eh, given how irl American horse racing is filled with more drug abuse than most Russian Olympic athletes then I don't think Shirogane would actually race there.
I feel like adoption would work well for her, but I wonder if there are any issues with Uma adoption...
The fact that her grandparents visiting completed eclipsed her debut race in chapter 15 in terms of importance really does set Shiro apart from her fellow racers, its an interesting contrast because its also an almost complete reversal from Salaryman's view on work life balance. Welp got to continue reading to see what new chapter is about.
I'm pretty sure the catalyst was having a loving family, which neither the Salaryman or Tanya ever had but Shiro has. The chance to be a child without outside pressures forcing her into a specific path or mold did wonders for Shiro and it's what's really driving her this life. Making sure that the family business is thriving and that her (grand)parents are taken care of is her way of showing she cares about them too.
