1968 Chevrolet El Camino SS-396.

In 1968, GM's mid-size cars received their first major redesign. In addition to all-new bodyshells, they received new chassis and revised suspensions to do away with ride issues that had been attributed to unanticipated complications with the 115" wheelbase of the 1964-67 cars. Coupes and convertibles got a 112" wheelbase chassis, while sedans, most station wagons, and the wagon-derived El Camino got a 116" wheelbase one.

1968 also marked the first year that El Camino buyers could order the Super Sport performance package, which on the Chevelle & El Camino, consisted of a 325 hp 396 ci big-block V-8 (with 350 & 375 hp 396s optional,) a heavy-duty sport suspension, frame reinforcements, ornamental bulges and fake vents on the hood, blacked-out grill and tail panels, and 'SS-396' badges at various spots both inside and outside the car. Incidentally, 1968 is the only year that the El Camino SS existed as its own, distinct model, as for the 1969 model year, the Super Sport was demoted from being distinct models within the Chevelle lineup to being an option package offered on certain bodystyles.

Was an attempted mod for Sins of a Solar Empire but it didn't work out so it languished for a while before the creator started updating and redoing it again into what it is today.
