You've been radio silent for a while now, hope things are good IRLI just hit the Cici interlude in Play Test, and for almost any other story I would have dropped it right there. It's a testament to how skilled you are as an author that I am holding out hope for a good (or at least satisfying) resolution.I'm reading Play Test, and it's great, but there's one thing that has shown up in multiple chapters that is infuriating: 'discrete' and 'discreet' are two very different words. Stop using the former in the place of the latter, for the love of all that's good and holy.
