Neurax, I've got five dollars I can give you. Please give us something, anything. It's been almost 4 years and I haven't forgotten IATSMTM.

Can't give any concrete dates as it's basically still on hiatus and I am rusty, but I do want to pick it back up again and have ideas on how the story will progress. I do plan to make a post about this soon in addition to giving my thoughts on Part 2's terrible ending. Until then, enjoy this shitpost I made in like 10 minutes ⬇️

Look at it. Crescent moon head and weird robot limbs? And all the numerous uses of the word "dream" in that chapter? I might be coping hard, or Fujimoto's pulling the funniest early April Fools prank I've seen in years if that Hylics looking fellow is actually the Nightmare/Dream Devil.

Granted, I'm not really gonna be heartbroken if this isn't the case. I lost investment in Part 2 a while back, probably around the time Asa got famous and Fujimoto then chose to sideline her character by switching back to Denji for the rest of the story for some reason.
    WhiteGrapejuice
    WhiteGrapejuice
Yeah honestly I thought the story kind of lost its way after the "becoming a better person with help" plot kind of got abandoned..I feel bad for the fans who were coping the whole time that denji wasn't just being horny again and actually had a deeper plan or something etc.
    Rammacam
Well… it seems that we are getting that rewrite sooner than expected.

Honestly, I think he started with strong ideas but burned out around the time the art quality dropped, and the weekly/biweekly requirement for him to pump out new chapters likely didn't help matters. There's nothing worse for creative endeavors when it feels like a chore instead of something you're passionate about.

Then I really hope you're still passionte about ITSMA 🥲

It's not my #1 priority right now, but I definitely want to pick it back up again at some point. Honestly, Part 2 having a bad ending doesn't change most of the plans I had for IATSMA, and I already had an idea of how I wanted things to progress past Arc 1, after the SI and Makima had their big lover's quarrel fight. I'm just disappointed Fujimoto didn't flesh out his world and the characters in it more.

I wonder how Carrion will now do in the rewrite, once he got the knowledge of Yoru's eternal war plan and the US making Atomic Bombs again. I think he can stop Yoru but the United States of America? I doubt it.
    WhiteGrapejuice
You know I've been thinking with how Yoru treats the consepts connected to war like her children (at least in the English translation) and you saying that one of the main reasons for her obsession with Carrion is the connection between War and one of his consepts..I now just imagine Yoru trying to treat Carrion as the daddy of her children and acting like they are a big murderous family lol

Yoru hating on Makiman and Denji for "Stealing" Carrion away like an angry ex-wife is very funny ngl

Given his concepts associated with "war", CARRION to the rest of the Weapon Devils is that otherwise chill uncle that single-handedly sparks a violent argument at thanksgiving dinner table with their mother because of his "controversial political views" ("Hey guys, let's not kill humans for no reason.") leaving them to eat their meal in awkward silence as someone gets punched through a wall in the next room over.

Real question here: when Denji, Makiman and SI sit down to let Pochita explain things, will it be the biggest game of charades the earth, heaven and hell ever see?
Or imagine that 4 arm monster using chalk and a board lmao

Not quite. The SI does figure out a way to communicate back and forth with Pochita (granted it's one-sided and a huge pain in the ass to boot), but there would charades, as it seems Pochita can't talk in his small form, and his big form, well...
    Black Chainsawman: VAM-VAGAH! VAGYAH GYAH!
SI: ENGLISH MOTHERFUCKER, DO YOU SPEAK IT?!

And actually, that does open up an interesting conversation about Devils and language, that hasn't really been touched upon in the manga. Since CSM Devils are basically Tulpas formed from the fears of the collective consciousness of Humanity, it would make sense that the non-feral Devils could understand/speak any human language, That, or the Language Devil got erased and everyone speaks the same language now.
So will Makima try to become Denjis mother?

He'd think she's funny until Fami reveals she thinks the best way to save everyone is to kill them, which then he thinks she's annoying. She seems more misguided than pure evil though, so unless Fami starts killing people I can't see him doing worse than breaking out the rolled up newspaper and spray bottle as disciniplary measures. Though I think she'd crumple like a wet paper bag when their personalities clash...

Aha! So basically Carrion's horseman list would go:
    1. Makima
    2. Fami
    3. Yoru
    4. Death
..it's a bit sad that Carrion only really likes one person of the family lol

Makima after Carrion explains why her erasure plan is dumb on every level conceivable:

You know thinking back on Yoru simping for Carrion..he obviously hates her for being even more evil then Makima but wouldn't he also dislike her for using the body of a highschool girl to do her weird version of "flirting" ? I feel like that alone would already kill any chance of him responding positively.
    Rammacam
    …

Well… this is the part where we celebrate that you put the fanfic on recess until we knew more.

    Oh boy.
It's about time we start asking the real questions here.

Since Makima can't be hurt without the damage transferring to an innocent person, the bean gets all the abuse when she pisses him off.

Also, he vehemently denies any claims that the tinier drones will grab the Makima bean at night to use as a teddy bear. Though there will come a reckoning the day Makima opens a random closet and finds a sleeping drone snuggled up with an incredibly smug looking plushy of herself.
    KikoJosefino
How would Makima feel seeing a plushy of her getting more hugs than she does?
    I'm guessing mixed reactions?

Outwardly composed with a perfect smile, but inwardly coping and seething like there's no tomorrow. Meanwhile, the SI is panicking as his negative emotion six-sense is going haywire at the sudden black hole of murderous intent and envy that's drowning out every other negative emotion in Tokyo's vicinity.

At any moment, she's afraid that the "sun" will open its eye and spread its wings... *cue Radiance from Hollow Knight music*

Though, that's just a joke. Eternity is definitely not pretending to be the sun because a certain Primal Devil destroyed the real one. Definitely not.

CSM Chapter 167... I'm speechless. I was expecting there's be a sex scene at some point, but not that. Fujimoto really does know how to subvert all expectations, huh?

Do you think Carrion would be in good terms with Falling? Or at least nos hostile at sight, she seems reasonable enough.

He'd be chill with her right up until she tries cooking a human, at which point she gets turned into a fine red mist. Her PTSD attack would be effective on the SI's Hivemind, but it would also be the equivalent of kicking a hornet's nest once they get their bearings. An incredibly destructive fight for sure, but Falling isn't winning this as the SI's drones would be capable of flight by this point in the story.

Oh, and if he saw her spawn in like she did in Part 2 with all the people jumping to their deaths to form her body, yeah, he's not gonna talk to her, he's just gonna try obliterating her on sight.

People are going to think that Makima's type is someone willing to talk back to her as she and Carrion constantly argue and keep trying to passive aggressively one-up each other while still managing to be two of the most competent workers in Public Safety.
Hey man, I hope you're having a great time! I just have a question. Did other biblical events happen in the IATSMA verse? Like for example, the rebellion in Heaven that was led by the angel Lucifer? I always had this headcanon that the first Primal Devils were born from Lucifer's flesh after Michael cast him down to Hell.
    WhiteGrapejuice
Heya Neurax we know that you plan to build on the framework of a more redemple Makima from canon, are they any new quicks or headcannos you plan to also show Makima to have? (Unless of course that's spoilers then never mind)

As per canon, she really likes movies, to the point she hits the SI with a monologue essay about movies when he gives her the slightest hint he watches them.

She has a weakness for small and pitiful looking animals, and the reason she only has huskies as pets is because she wouldn't get anything done at home otherwise. For this reason, tiny drones are at risk of being grabbed and snuggled against their will.

Without going in to spoiler territory, you think underused character like Spider o Quanxi´s fiends could not just be killed that quickly. Particulary with Quanxi, she is an Assasin that travel to another country to kill a 16yo boy, so for our dear Carrion would be like "It's on sight, old hag".
The idea of Carrion one shotting Quanxi it´s particulary funny to me hahah.
    Neurax
    Neurax
Depends if Quanxi underestimates him or not. If she tries to CQC him, she will lose the second he gets a good grip on her. Her Hybrid form has a better chance, but it's just delaying the inevitable. While she never fought Makima in the manga, in IATSMA Quanxi still would've lost if she resisted and Makima wouldn't have even had to use Devil powers. Not weak, just fighting something entirely out of her weight class.
