• A notice about Rule 3 regarding sites hosting pirated/unauthorized content has been made. Please see here for details.
  • Staff is working to deal with the problem of synonymous tags. See here for more information and to suggest tag mergers.
  • QQ will have forum downtime on October 21, starting at 10:00 AM Eastern time, for software updates.
  • Due to issues with external spam filters, QQ is currently unable to send any mail to Microsoft E-mail addresses. This includes any account at live.com, hotmail.com or msn.com. Signing up to the forum with one of these addresses will result in your verification E-mail never arriving. For best results, please use a different E-mail provider for your QQ address.
  • For prospective new members, a word of warning: don't use common names like Dennis, Simon, or Kenny if you decide to create an account. Spammers have used them all before you and gotten those names flagged in the anti-spam databases. Your account registration will be rejected because of it.
  • Since it has happened MULTIPLE times now, I want to be very clear about this. You do not get to abandon an account and create a new one. You do not get to pass an account to someone else and create a new one. If you do so anyway, you will be banned for creating sockpuppets.
  • Due to the actions of particularly persistent spammers and trolls, we will be banning disposable email addresses from today onward.

There was an active poll in my second thread that isn't necessary.

I deleted ir, and wondered if that might be what was causing the merger bug,

Ultima found the answer, it seems to be the threadmark index.

So is it possible to merge them, or is that issue permanent?
    Megaolix

Gotta upate XF a bit as it seems that got fixed in a patch. Or perhaps deleting a threadmark index would work... If those can be deleted anyway.

Hi, sorry to write directly but could I ask for my account to be verified? Also a semi-connected question, is the option to change ones email locked behind verification? I was trying to do it after losing access to old one, but couldn't find the option.
    Megaolix
    Megaolix
Done. And yes, you should be able to change that in account details.
hey I just moved here because of the uncertainty of fiction.live with kas(the person) MIA and the domain registry on the verge of expiring so you might expect a growth in new accounts

Why is that even still a thing? We are in september. That scare was in august and it obviously did not expire.

well now it's been pushed to February

Ah, short. Can I take my own writings from a quest here and repost them to my snippets thread? 420 characters...waaah, no Essays!

Nor am I, but I'm having one of those days where it's better to check before I do something silly or foolish.

Would the flag of Brazil violate rule 8?
    Megaolix
    Megaolix
I'm going to have to ask why you want to post the flag somewhere.

To show my love for a beautiful country

Flags are okay but if you use that to try to get around Rule 8 to send a message and we find out, trust that you will not enjoy the consequences.
    ScriptGenius12
Does Rule 8 apply to the politics of fictional worlds?
    Megaolix
    Megaolix
No, so long as it doesn't bring over RL politics or the fiction starts to look like a mouthpiece for RL stuff.
    ScriptGenius12
    ScriptGenius12
Would Rule 8 apply to the politics of fictional versions of Earth that have diverged from our own (ex: World War Z which is ten years after a zombie apocalypse, Independence Day, Jurassic Park, DC/Marvel)
    Megaolix
    Megaolix
See above again about RL issues.
    ScriptGenius12
Does this count as Rule 8 violation? It's a cyoa about being a warlord:

Given the explanation found within to explain the current state, I'm going to state it would be Rule 8 bait, easy.

Do you know exactly how long drafts are preserved by the QQ textbox? I know it is at least two days, but I am curious about the actual number.
    Megaolix
    Megaolix
I have no idea. It is also absolutely not safe to save that here, so I suggest you preserve text elsewhere if needed.

Yeah, I have text I care about actually saved. I was just curious how long it is, because I checked in on a story thread I read but do not comment much, and noticed it has been almost three days, but the short reply I decided not to bother with and had forgotten about was still there. Do you know who might know the exact number? The curiosity is itching at me.

Hey, sorry to bother but my account has been in a state of waiting for approval for quite some time now. Could you please check it out or get in touch with someone who could help? Thanks.
Sorry to be a bother but I have been waiting for my account to be verified for a while so I wonder if you could verify it for me?

No, because now I notice you're Project Black Souls, that is trying to evade the underage ban AGAIN. In fact, I must ban you.

Black Souls is ban?! Damn, didn't notice that. I thought the in Vacation stuff is something different from Gone for Good

Black soul is still on temp, but alts to evade may decide to make us change our mind. Regardless, we cannot permit someone we know is underage on QQ if we want QQ to not be closed.
Hey, I saw that my profile now has a picture of a raccoon on it, but I didn't select that avatar, it just appeared on its own. Could you please remove it and return the previous blank image?

Hey i was just wondering if i could just get a thread on mine deleted? I wanted to rewrite and update my story "From Dungeon to Grace" and thought it better to just request for a delete and then reupload the new more polished one, as well as i just didnt want to edit the thread since it been dead for a few months now. If im in the wrong place for requesting this than im sorry, im still pretty new to QQ.

Thanks. just making sure is all. ik it probably sounds weird to ask to edit my own post i just wanted to make sure i was able to do it since ik commenting on a dead post is not recommended.

To signal a full rewrite of the chapter IS, in fact, a matter good enough to allow it. Once it is done anyway.
Hello, hate to be a bother but my account has been pending for an approval for a few months now, so is there anyway the process could sped up or is it because I am doing something wrong. Please help.
How do I change my username?

Post somewhere first, (I suggest Introduction thread) so your account is validated. Then you should be able to do so in Account Details. Just be aware it may take some time for systems to see your account as valid after posting.

Hello, I've been locked out my gmail address for a couple days and had to resort to using my outlook address, since QQ doesn't accept outlook email addresses, could you verify me manually?

Hi, I posted a story on the normal Creative Writing forum when I was going to post it on the NSFW Creative Writing forum, and I was hoping I could get it switched without needing to delete the entire thing and post it again. The Story is Neon Knight.
Hey ive made a couple comments that have been waiting for moderator approval for over an hour. Should I be concerned?
