Hey guys, longtime lurker that's taking a dip in writing for the first time. Don't know if I'll be able to write consistently, but I'll try.

I'll focus mostly of scrapbook-style storytelling, which means lots of logs, documentations, snippets, epistolatory, and similar written styles

Warning, these won't be beta'd, these are first drafts. So, I'm sorry for any grammatical mistakes and errors.

Dear Anna, First and foremost, I want to congratulate you and your husband on the birth of your second child, Jamie. A good name for a boy. May you and your husband be bless with many more in the future. Unfortunately, or fortunately depending on how you read this letter, that is not why I'm writing to you. I'm writing to you because I'm offering you a promotion as lead investigator and managing your own small group of investigators and a new job that will help us in with an internal affairs issue. If you are interested in such an offer, please continue reading. If not, give the letter back to Janice and we'll never discuss this again. As you no doubt have heard about a recent assassination attempt involving Samantha Rose, now mayor of Prospect City, in which the fake news is blaming the Mutant Liberation Front due to the fact the perpetrator was a mutant. While I won't write about how they come to such baseless conclusion in such a short amount of time, I would be lying if the person who nearly ended Mrs. Rose life wasn't one of our own. And therein lies the problem. One in which the committee is heavily divided. While what I'm about to write to you might not be wholly relevant to you or the investigation, I would be derelict in my duty to not inform you and the potential dangers this investigation might pose to you. I hope you understand that discretion is paramount here. The assassin is, or rather was, a member of the Mutant Liberation Front. And as far as I'm concerned, that is where the truth ends, and the slanderous lies begin. No, there were no orders to eliminate Samantha Rose; neither I nor the Director, or even the rest of the committee even sanctioned such a hit. It would undo all the rapport we've been building with her for the past year. No, this wasn't some revenge plot about our failed takeover of the city a few years back. We lost and that's it. We moved on and are trying to keep our heads above the water. No, this was not an attempt to start operating in the open again. After what the Last Hero did to us, we've decided, as a committee, to keep our heads down and operate from the shadows. I'm not going to go into all the reasons that the fake news gave for our possible involvement. Each one is more asinine than the last. But the fact of the matter is that a member of our organization, the son of the former chapter leader no less, attacked a political figure out in the open. I'm going to be upfront with you, Anna: The Mutant Liberation Front, was and still is, on the verge of devolving into open civil war over this. It took the leaders of MLM and MLMBN walking out during a special session of politburo for the hardliners in the committee to even entertain the notion of compromise. And after days of endless debates, we manage to form one that satisfies neither side: complete and utter condemnation of Jesse Shawn's action but no punishment will be given out, acquiescence to Samantha Rose's demands, and having you as leader of the newly formed Special Investigations Unit in order to make sense of this fuck up. While we all agreed to this, there's already bad actors trying to undermine this compromise, notably, Fenrir's Oathkeepers' current leader Cassandra Shawn, the wife of our former dear leader Joshua Shawn and mother of the would-be assassin of Samantha Rose, Jesse Shawn. If my informants are correct, and I have no reason to doubt them, she's heading her own investigation, and worse yet, targeting everyone involved who opposed her son during his time in Laurel Mutants and Gifted Institute, including Mrs. Rose own son. I don't blame you if you reject the offer after all of that. I'm half-tempted to walk away from the mess myself. Dealing with Cassandra Shawn's insanity is hard enough in the committee, I can't imagine how she's like with no oversight, trying to save her son from his own fuck up and having her sycophants agree with everything she says. But if you still want the promotion and the job, go to Private and Security Consulting Firm at S Chapel St. You can't miss it; it's in front of Leden Park and meet a man that goes by "John Evans", he'll give you the dossiers I made for you.
