And if you really insist that Marvel was tackling your country's sordid historical sagas, do consider that every cause they claimed to champion is depicted in their stories as comprehensively defeated. IF we accept those parallels.....

It's a world where the Black Panther equivalent really is a terrorist, the MLK equivalent frikking lost and failed to win any policy goals, the persecuted groups were annihilated again and again with no recourse- sometimes from their own- and spent decades being tormented, abused, and getting their faces kicked in the dirt even as all their leaders turn into utter scumbags.
