IIRC one of the earliest prophetic poems pretty much stated she will make it to the end.
I think the simurgh might also make it to tye end of the story.
Well, the S9 have quite the attrition rate aside from the core members.
You mentioned sacrificing Sophia: there was a prophetic poem that pretty much told her life/end so that won't be the case.

Crawler would likely give something from Infernal Monster style. That our a Lunar Regen charm. Not saying I want the story to go there, but joining the S9 would likely be a very safe and reliable way of getting new powers. Why keep messing around with slow and tricky social manipulation? Just kidnap everyone and have Riley turn them into easy to handle flesh cubes! If anyone complains they can take it up with HR.
PS: Crawler is probably the missing step to become truly absurdly OP.

Powerful Lunars can teach their bodies to acclimatize to even the most dangerous things, rending the Lunars proof against what has already hurt them. After activating this Charm, any form of attack or event that causes the Lunar harm (i.e., at least a health level of damage or a dot of trait degradation) ceases to be a danger to him for the rest of the scene. Raw damage from any such sources automatically drops to zero in Step 7 of attack resolution. Other sources of damage still affect the character: A Lunar can only use Wound-Mastering Body Evolution against one form of attack or damage at a time. Using this Charm a second time merely resets the Lunar's immunity; the effects do not stack.
Divide sources of damage in the same way that Exalted separates weapons. Edged weapons form one category, blunt weapons are another and so on. Artifact weapons have their own spread of the categories separate from the mundane weapons but are not separated by magical material. Fire, strangulation, crushing, acid and the like all have their own categories. Some unique effects may not fall into any category, and thus always harm the character at least once before he becomes temporarily immune.
Wound-Mastering Body Evolution is activated in Step 10 of an attack against the Lunar to secure immunity to that source of damage. This Charm is given power by the Lunar's survival instinct and desperate perseverance, and so can only be used if the Lunar is injured against his will. He cannot simply harm himself or allow an ally to do so in order to gain immunity.
While the Charm provides perfect immunity to all damage from mundane sources, magical attacks and harmful effects are capable of penetrating its protection. Against magical harm, the Lunar instead gains +15B/15L natural soak, 10B/10L Hardness, and (Essence ÷ 2) automatic successes on any rolls to avoid being damaged. Attacks or effects are magical if enhanced by a Charm or other Essence power, if made with an inherently magical weapon, or if used by a character with Essence 4+.
Multiple activations of Wound-Mastering Body Evolution can be stacked simultaneously to benefit from multiple immunities.
Throwing his head back and closing his eyes, the Silver-Voiced Nightingale shrieks an awful cry. Glass and crystal shatters spectacularly, as metal warps and blood pours from people's ears. The martial artist makes one attack using his (Perception + Martial Arts), with a base bashing damage of his Charisma. The attack strikes everyone within (Martial Arts x 10) yards, except the martial artist himself, and it cannot be dodged or parried without a stunt or a Charm. The attack cannot be aimed.
Is it a joke if the story has set it up that way on purpose? Is the joke that half their candidates are going to be Taylor identities? That's totally the joke isn't it.
I really wonder how the whole Jack/Cherish/Taylor triangle of masters and manipulators will work out.
I can't tell if she's worried about the teen pregnancy or the miscegenation.Aisha is there too, because as you mentioned, Alec's lair is nicer than yours. She insisted on being the 'senior slave puppet concubine', and you agreed. It amuses her to have nominal authority over you, and you don't particularly care who waves the fan and who peels the grapes. There is one major difference between how you play your roles, though.
"I can't believe you let him actually slave puppet you," you say.
"Don't kinkshame," Aisha says, making you raise an eyebrow. Are they bumping uglies for real, too? You disapprove, but objecting would make you quite the hypocritamous yourself.
"Don't make me draw up guidelines for minion maternity leave," is all you say. Which, uh, could still be considered a wee bit hypocritical, considering your own condition. She's even younger and more irresponsible than you, though!
Hot damn, minions with survival instincts. Not that I think Taylor would deliberately throw them under the bus, but collateral damage is a thing."True. Only... don't they have this thing about making recruits kill their old teammates?"
"Um." I consider some more. "Not to be a faggot, but do you think we should maybe warn the heroes?"
When Poltergeist was first described I thought Aunt Jemima, but her voice has been a thing twice now. Is she playing Madea?"Stop!" you shout as you haul yourself onto the rooftop she's chosen for her performance. Or you try to, Poltergeist's voice isn't so good at shouting.
Jeez. It'd be funny if the reason Taylor ends up fighting against Behemoth is because she wants to study an Endbringer and the rest of the S9 just went along with it to fuck around the fight with their own agendas in mind.

Man I forgot about Shadow Stalker, that is not looking good for Taylor. It won't be so bad if Sophia just tries to kill her, but Taylor might be exposed and end up with a kill order even if she doesn't join the Nine.Well thats that I guess, kinda sad they are all dead just like that, but life is cheap in Worm. Not gonna be surprised if she insta gibs atleast half the S9 at the end of this section either. So they got Alec too? Or is it still nebulous, Shadow stalker might have gotten away and maybe Aisha evaded notice if she wasn't present for the bombs.
Doctor Mother wanted them around to scare people into joining the Protectorate. Broadcast is enough to deal with the non Cauldron elements of the Protectorate I think. What was the cannon reason why the S9 were allowed to run around again? Contessa covering for them?
You make your way home, your backpack containing not only your Low Key costume, but also phat stacks of cash. Kaiser hinted not so subtly that trying to run off with your signing bonus would be a tremendously bad idea. You were not fazed in the least. When the Empire eventually comes howling for your blood, money will be the last thing on their minds.
You were so focused on getting to Shatterbird that you completely forgot about the Slaughterhouse 9's other tradition on arriving in a new city: They completely wipe out one of the parahuman gangs. With Lung gone, and Trousers forewarned and taking measures to ensure her own safety, that only leaves one gang. And a pile of bodies in front of you, left in the street as a statement. This is S9's playground now, where none may contest them.
They're all there. Purity, Krieg, Aurelius, Hookwolf... The S9 casually destroyed one of the most powerful gangs in the country. Cricket, Crusader, Night, Fog, all gone. Just to show that they could. Fenja, Stormtiger, Victor, Othala... Rune. Rune's mask is gone, and her empty eyes stare at you accusingly. 'Why did you not warn us?' she seems to be asking you. 'Were you not one of us? Were we not friends?'
lol, you wouldn't spend 30 seconds to @all your contacts list "s9 inc"?I dunno, I think she was "work"
tier friends with them atleast, even if only after putting in all the hours doing something and being around people they grow on you regardless.
Or quite a few less with the E88 reduced to ruins. This is just going to be more powers for Taylor to acquire isn't it.
Way too much. Enough to team up with Evil Taylor. If Regent and Cherish killed each other, then Shadow Stalker is free. How many of Taylor's secrets can she divulge to the PRT?

I think they are going to be great friends. She doesn't. She ruffles your hair affectionately, then picks you up and slings you over her shoulder. Then she leaps away with what would have been bone-pulverizing, organ-rupturing force if she hadn't granted you invulnerability first. You guess she knows where your next test is taking place.
