He was following the same path since the day he had moved into those rugged mountains a few years ago. He was an introverted person and rather nasty, that is why people of the village avoided him.

It was evening when he got home. He unlocked the door, went inside, and made himself a cup of tea.

It was a small double-story house with a bed, a sofa, a TV, a chair, a table, and a single-piece utensil for daily usage. There was not a single thing in the house that was in pairs, maybe because he himself was not a pair to use pairs.

The smell of sweet and pungent honey and ginger tea caught him, he filled his cup, sat on the sofa, and started to belt down the tea, sip after sip.

Arthur had taught him how to cook. They have sworn brothers; he used to make ginger honey tea for him because he caught a cold easily. Arthur used to say, "You always trouble me, you will never let me die in peace". And he would always laugh it away.

He felt his heart melting in his bosom and something stinging his eyes. He said to himself, "These are not tears, this is sweat because the tea is spicy and it's hot, yes it's hot, yes! I am sweating".

The tears rolled down his cheek and the face of his friend Arthur appeared before his eyes. Arthur was a beautiful man and was always happy, at least he thought him happy.

"Arthur couldn't be a murderer, he can't kill anyone, he not even knew her", words broke out of his mouth. He was getting breathless, the cup fell from his hands and the tea spilled on the bare floor, it was just like Sara's blood that ran under his feet that day, he remembered it vividly. Tea was just like her blood now glistening in the fire in front of him. He had a panic attack, he fell to the ground, blood-like tea glistening in front of his eyes, dampening his face, it was sweet, it was warm, and he felt it. He saw her opening her arms to his friend to hug him. She was smiling, she had beautiful teeth, she was wearing a red dress, then she fell to the ground, blood from her head was moistening her precipitated face. Her tearful eyes were bidding a goodbye.

She was a famous singer; both of them had liked her since her debut. He remembered how they had collected cent after cent to get tickets for her greet and meet. They had just gone there to take her autograph; they did not even know her. He could not understand; why and what Arthur had to do with Sara, why did he shoot her dead. He got dizzy and lost consciousness.

The murmuring of the river was creating a soothing melody. He laid himself down near the bank and looked above at the sky. The sky was blue, it always was, but today it seemed different. Today, there was a golden ball up there, with blue wavy ripples around it, creating enchanting scenery.

His eyes were glistening in the dazzling rays of the sun. He saw a fowl with its arm wide open and gliding in the open infinite space. He stood, with his head still looking up high and opened his arms as if he also wanted to dive into the ocean of clouds.

The babbling of Brook made his body feel light like a feather he got on his toes. He felt free of all bonding. Then he felt a sudden soft touch behind him. Anna was hugging him from behind. He felt a warm backup; a smile spread on his face, this was all that he wanted, a beautiful sensation of being alive and his loved one, but after a few moments, he felt her grip getting loose and at last gone.

He turned around to see her but she was not there. His heart pounded hard to his chest, he felt restless.

He turned back, looked around, and heard a busy hustle around him. Suddenly there were large buildings, smoke, shouting, and curses that he was hearing and seeing. He heard a crowd of rowdy people cheering on someone. He went to look up close.

Sarah was looking just like a sculpture, standing there and playing the cello. Her music was like an earmuff against that hustle. He was humming with the flow as if he knew the song. He closed his eyes to enjoy the melody.

BOOM!

He instantly opened his eyes and saw blood rushing out of her temple.

She fell to the ground. The lines of blood were coming towards him. He tried to move backward but instead fell on his back. He was scared. The blood was now under his feet.

He tried to stand up but something pulled him back. He tried to shout but his voice was stuck in his throat. He could not breathe. The air he had inspired was stuck in his lungs. He felt his nostrils stuffed and jaw locked. He tried to look back at the river from where he had come but he saw long tides of water behind him, over his head, and in an instant, they covered him.

He couldn't see anything, it was dark, his body felt heavy. He couldn't breathe. He was deep under the water. The water entered through his nostrils and created a sharp, painful tingling sensation in his head. He held his head tight as if it was going to burst. He tried to open his eyes but the water irritated his eyes. He felt full. His body was getting cold. He saw someone coming towards him, it was Anna, his lover, but she was going down. She was looking at him, he tried to move his hands and feet but all in vain. Soon Anna was gone under the dark deep waves. He couldn't see her. He tried to call her name but the water filled his mouth.

He forced himself to move, he was miserable as if tied with something tight.

He was dying like a fish on land. He opened his eyes and at last cried;

ANNA!
