Here is my planned response, where the Ukraine War is referenced without outright naming the participants or saying the word "Ukraine War".

ScriptGenius12: OP says "No talking about modern politics!" Then goes and writes a story arc where one real life nation invades another while its real life counterpart was invading the same nation it that it attacked in the story, causing a real war that is ongoing to this very day. Not naming names to avoid Rule 8, but the hypocrisy is there.
 
Pinned thread in this subforum has your answer. The name itself is not forbidden

Lets go with no. here. Dont post that. is focusing on the politics and real world issues instead of the fictional context. Also it reaches into R8 baiting territory.

I will note here that "preemptive screening of every reply for Rule 8 issues" is not actually a service we, the staff, provide. There's enough work just handling reports already.

Eventually, you as a user will have to cultivate your own internal sense of where the Rule 8 line is. Basically every user on the forum does this successfully; the percentage of users who have multiple Rule 8 infractions is very small. If you find that you are actually incapable of this, and repeatedly get infracted for posts you didn't realize were over the line, then the correct response is to stop posting on topics that are potentially fraught, and watch the forum to get a sense for what the rules are. I.e. lurk moar.

@ScriptGenius12, please don't post here any further asking us to pre-approve posts for Rule 8 issues. You will have to use your own judgement.
