Feel The Ground Shake (Pokemon - Ground-type specialist)

Titanic purple limbs. Thick carapace plating over nearly every inch of its body. A monstrous 'SKREEE-!' as the second King announces its presence to the world.

Hot damn glad this is back! And man I forgot just how bad this timeline was. Magma truly is a monster of an organization to do shit like this(but we already knew that) and make their drug able to persist through an evolution. Honestly I bet the drug becomes permanent if it does. And damn that was a very impressive training Arc with those gains. Cant wait to see the rest of the team show off.

Everyone, make your 'Kong vs. Gojira' jokes now if you would.

There won't be an opportunity to later.
I'm calling it now that Grundy gave the raging monkey the signature Kiss of Death and fired a Hyper Beam down it's throat.

A letter or a sub rank?

So is it A now or is it S? I asume A.

From A minus to A regular.

Should we imagine Karn's internal dialogue like an elcor from mass effect?

Never played any of the Mass Effect titles, so I couldn't tell ya. I'd have to Google what an Elcor is.

So he didn't find a good enough Trapinch while he was in the desert?

Flygon fans never getting what they want is basically a rule these days.

Ah, I see. So he's too far gone, which is why Brad's gotta put it out of his misery. "Yeah, no, I'm already dealing with one Pokemon with severe trauma, there's no way I can deal with another. Time to die."

-Negative Trait Obtained: A bit more vulnerable to Ice, Grass, and Water aligned aura.
Ohhhh, sounds like Lorelei's gonna have a lot more sway over him in the future than before...

Is this gobbledegook what you're getting when you run the Braille through a translator?

That's peculiar. When I use this site it comes out as plain English.

I kinda forgot what happened with Quagsire and Bradley's friends. Quagsire somehow made Amnesia into super-amnesia and ???

Ah. I've been using BrailleTranslator.org, and thought the results were accurate. I was under the impression that it was supposed to reflect the idea that Karn's speech is ultimately indecipherable, that even if you could understand what he's saying, you would only be able to parse the gist of what he's saying rather than anything specific (like how Brad himself was only able to just barely glean what Karn meant from context clues). My bad.

On another note, this is a really fitting turn of events. Brad went from losing a match to a Pokemon Ranger because he'd lost control of Grundy, to now saving the lives of multiple Pokemon Rangers with Grundy against another out of control Alpha Pokemon. Fun times.

Fun fun times! Super glad it's back! Ground type specialist for the win!

Sad that he couldn't find a Trapinch but Qué Será, Será
I'm mostly excited for Junior!!! Like Simon is the protagonist obviously while Grundy is clearly the edgy rival character but I'd like to think that Jr is shaping up to being the reliable "actual" best friend character that backs up the protagonist in those fights where the rival is off honing his edge and thus is unavailable to join the fight.

Yes I also have anime roles for the other members of the team.

Elcor start their sentences with the emotion they're conveying. This is starting with the type of sentence instead. So really, it's more like HK-47. Still, similar speech patterns from creatures made by the same company, so it's still a good guess.

Quagsire made Amnesia both much more powerful, and permanent. So it forgot its self limiters. It forgot who its trainer is. And it forgot how not to kill with its attacks.

Aren't the Regis actually kind of weak, especially for legends?
Not really in the grand scheme of things. Legendary Pokemon come in three flavours: one off apocalypse, more powerful than average Pokemon, or just a mysterious species.

The Regis are a type B legend. You can find a bunch of em' loitering around in most continuities: they aren't unique, just rare. Regigigas generally seems to be a type A, in at least one continuity being able choke slam Dialga and Palkia in a 1v2, but his little golem children are more in line with legends like Ogerpon and the Swords of Justice.

Most legends, as a total population, are going to be types B and C that fit very comfortably within a Regis weight class. As an example, a random wild Regirock that stumbles into a brawl with a Zapdos, Moltres, or Articuno probably beats the snot out of them just with a Type advantage, and stands a reasonable (if not hopeful) chance against an irate Heatran. As far as legends go, those are some of the Pokemon species that probably have some of the highest actual populations.

Here comes Bradley to save the day!

Wonder if he was just in the area or the battle was so loud that it attracted his attention through the noise or his Seismic Sense? Either way, bailing out some Rangers should get him some good street cred.

Also saw that he had a bag full of Root and Claw Fossils. Probably can get quite a bit of money from them. Not to mention the Pokemon, but I'm not sure if he would want them for his team or not, don't think either of them are Ground Type.

Yep yep, that's the plan. Our boy needs another cash infusion to pay them grocery bills.

While I, the author, do really enjoy both Cradily and Armaldo, it wouldn't make sense narratively to add either to the party.

Yes, a new Chapter! HUZZAH!

(You better not skimp the fucking fight, you have me gripping the edge of my seat, dude!)

A shame, an A rank potential Alpha, but sometimes it's just how the dominos fall.

It's A. Author already states that Simon the Golurk is the only one that is in the S-Tier category.

If Team Magma ever looks into our protagonist's history, they'll definitely grab his ass for his specialty in Ground-Type energy.

Local Grand MILF Glacia is gonna make him dizzy, then.

Quagsire made Amnesia both much more powerful, and permanent. So it forgot its self limiters. It forgot who its trainer is. And it forgot how not to kill with its attacks.
It also gave our blue boy an existential crisis that had it violently lash out against everything like a newborn baby.

"You Muking piece of-!" A deep-voiced expletive is spat by Ranger Barrel as the squad leader continues in a locked-in, no-holds-barred, slugfest against the Magma Admin. His Sceptile is burned. His Golem poisoned. The mischievous Sableye that Mark knows the man favors has long since been KO'd and the only positive news seems to be that the Admin's Crobat has finally been beaten down.
I love this. Trainers battling trainers in a no-holds barred, life-and-death situation. Spectacularly rad!

Oh boy. Grundy just saw a king.

And when Grundy sees a king, he goes all Double King!

Brad: "you make me weak at the knees"
Lorelei: "Don't think you can charm me!"
Brad: "No, literally. Your aura counter mine."

That's certainly my impression of them.

That's certainly my impression of them.

I think it's a side-effect of how the anime/cartoon doesn't respect them. It keeps having the full trio appear at the same time and thus nerfs them as individuals.

I assure you, each one has the same BST as any other Legendary Trio. The Kanto Birds, the Johto Beasts, etc etc.

EDIT: Though admittedly the Hoenn Regis are more specced into defense rather than offense.

tbf whenever I saw a regi on the anime or cartoon it usually took a powerful pokemon to beat them. hell in the adventures manga their straight up beasts iirc who get called up to help save Hoenn
