Personally I actually dislike how over hyped the birds and the beasts are in media it definitely made them seem a lot stronger than they actually are and a lot of fics suffer from that interpretation. They are literally just on par with Dragonite/Tyrabitar etc. powerful ace pokemon but just that and they exist in numbers albeit very few.

I'm throwing my hat into this month's old ring: Atlas is gonna be a Torterra, I'd say. It's based on the World Turtle of Oriental Mythology, which it shares with the eponymous Titan of Greek Mythology, the traits of holding up the world (which itself is technically a misconstrued error; for Atlas actually lifts the sky instead, because classical and Renaissance artists usually depict the sky as a sphere, especially in statues, hence the erroneous myth).
