General World of Darkness Discussion Thread QQ Edition

So since my campaign is Dark Ages and we have a lot of religious characters and we are crusading against Baali, during appropriate moments I let them roll a very difficult roll with no modifiers even from Auspex to see if they feel the presence of God. None of them have true faith.

My Blood Grail Knight of Clan Lasombra gave us an Our Father in the lead up into the assault. So the ghoul the Chad named Fernando and our Orthodox monk rolled to feel it. Fernando has a bonus that he hasn't used yet. And the monk got the ability to attempt to bless water to make it holy water.

They are about to fight in a Cistern.

The first Baali nest combat is currently on going.

I set them up against a bunch of kindred this time. 5 against 5, plus a couple extras on both sides. Really trying to make this a difficult combat.

My Salubri knight walks in with his Assassmite fire sword and just cuts down the Baali Champion of Chaos. The Baali Gangrel Convert is almost hugged by the monk (who is covered in crosses) and then catches a fireball to the face (doesn't quite freak out).

The Gangrel, on the verge of rotschreck and on fire, jumps in the water filled cistern.

Which is then blessed by the Monk. Who rolled legendary successes at 6 successes on a 'ritual' roll through theology. The light and presence of God fills the cistern. The Baali are screaming. Their profane markings are starting to peel off, the water is purified.

The gangrel faces final death in that water. Poof.

Then one of the nosferatu converts botches the attempt to push the monk in. And trips into the cistern. Also dying.

It's been two-three rounds. Only one enemy kindred remains, and only a few extras.

I am going to have to give these fuckers like a full on double Baali pack and even more demons next time.

My Blood Grail Knight earlier, also completely missed the implications that a recent widow was selling herself when the coeterie went to her to ask question.

Like came to the hovel, knocked on the door, there's a man and a woman seemingly co-habitating. So Senor Lazlo assumes a brother or something, but that gets corrected to a companion, so he does come to the conclusion that they're sleeping together. But not that she's selling herself.

So Lazlo bullies the man into making her an honest women, and pays for their wedding. And makes it very clear that he would be making sure they got married.

They are not so far. The campaign was 'Coeterie put together across Clan lines specifically to purge Baali.' No one has really mentioned Golcanda until like this moment.

But only the Gangrel Merc from Russia has Humanity.

The Monk is planning to change roads at this juncture to one of the Roads of Heaven/Humanity.

I think it's Road of Blood for the Assassamite. The special Path for the Salubri Warrior that's like path of samiel? I think. And the Path of Heaven: Christian.

I have made many hunters for my players to eventually deal with that have gimmicks such as tattooing their body with bible verses, singing psalms while throwing hands, and using thuribles (the swinging jar incense is burned in) as weapons.

A group of my friends wanted to play world of future darkness which led to us reading through some of the cyberpunk books along wod cyberpunk book and extrapolating

For World of Future Darkness I've made a plan where my players are on what they believe is a reality TV show against distant family members all descended from people who used to own a castle in South Tyrol (part of Italy but has a contentious history due to various wars and later the Axis screwing over parts of the population such as forced Italization and forcibly moving German speakers into Nazi Germany) where large sections of it had been burned to the ground due to the old family patriarch being a member of the resistance and events causing Everyone in the family in that generation to swear off ever going back there to a place where most of the family had died horribly before one family member restored the castle before mysteriously dying in the World of Future Darkness 2070s.

The "Reality TV Show" is actually a front for an infernalist ritual that is trying to sacrifice the souls of enough members of the family to sate an Earthbound by convincing it that yeah everything is terrible, brother is killing brother, earth is a hellhole and nothing good exists.

I am not sure on who I want to be a Baali that is behind it or not. My initial idea was that the family patriarch that died in World War 2 was a Vampire that maintained like humanity 9 or even 10 by being a Mr. Rogers type (who was himself keeping his methuselah sire asleep and sated in Torpor) that took genuinely good care of every member of his mortal family and never got past the old old way of things where he went "Oh my chauffeur almost ran over a street urchin. I am adopting him. A black child stowed away on my boat to avoid the Klan. Well I should adopt him and fund his education in Italy. There is a young child with a talent in art but is part of an overburdened household. I'll just invite her to live in the castle. World War 1 happened and countless children have been orphaned. I'll just build orphanages." but was eventually betrayed by his son who was Embraced by the Baali and attempted to diablerize him meanwhile. All the genetic family themselves were revenants (or the result of lengthy experiments in 'how to make vampires make dhampirs via magic' but the bloodline has reduced mysticism due to having scattered and not done the usual revenant "Strategic Marriages" for several generations.

Alternatively it is not Baali but a cavalcade of problems where the Baali originally tried to get involved but mortal and other supernatural interests basically exploded in a pileup of conspiracies.

On unrelated not, I was reading some fics and a few questions hit me on how WoD and some other creatures from other worlds would interact. For a note - meaning mostly darker creatures. For protagonists most WoD creatures would be outright monsters already.

For example, how would WoD creatures handle Heartless from Kingdom Hearts and Grimm from RWBY?
I think these guys are closest to either Fae nightmare chimera or maybe Wraiths. Would nastier fae being able to feed on Heartless/Grimm? For a note, Redcaps and quite a few shifters would be able to physically eat the buggers, probably Kuei Jin too. But I meant more like feeding on their darkness that they are made off.
