Generating non slop ai writing

Might be an unpopular concept, but I think it'd be nice to develop something here, to share tips and tricks, prompts, instructions etc.

I dunno. Like, I've read some stories with interesting premises, and like, non garbage plots that I would have been interested in reading more of, if only the actual prose wasn't dogshit ai slop. Like generic dumpster fire sloppy slop that I just couldn't bear reading more of.

Or like, stories that started great, and not ai slop, that then suddenly turned to ai slop to churn out chapters.

Might be a vain hope, but hopefully some of those authors could see this and fix their shit.

I think a basic tip would be using this prompt after getting a draft:

"Go back and do an editing pass, to get rid of common ai slop indicators + x + y + z"

Where x y and z are specific things you want to avoid/or style choices that may or may not be slop.

Some common ones could be "not x, but y" structures, meta references, tongue in cheek references.

Another thing you could do is make use of banned words/phrases lists. Like depending on the model, "genuinely, load bearing, monument" etc. Anything you notice being overused.

Moderation mostly doesn't care; if the threads aren't distinct enough, one usually dies on its own, but that's up to the userbase. We generally only intervene when a specific user has made two of the same thread, to delete the duplicate.
