I saw this short 2 minutes clip about how CPU's are made

I understand in a very basic 5yo level way how logic gates work. And I can understand how a human built the first very simple purely mechanical computer/"calculator" from like the year 1405 to do super basic calculations with visual aid and the utility in that.
But how did we go from that to nanoscopic logic gates of pure silicon powered by electricity to do all kinds of crazy stuff.
To even come up with the concept theoretically is insane never mind figuring out the engineering stuff to make that insane thought a practical reality that works.
I understand that this is like looking at 3 buckets of red yellow and blue with no understanding of color theory light theory while lacking any painting skills at all and looking at an artist who painted this using the three primary colors as base
It 100% looks like magic.
And that's where I'm at how did we go from freaking sticks to CPUs? What were the steps breakthrough s and processes I wish I could watch someone break down every part of the journey like a painter can explain what they are doing as they do it practically starting from a blank canvas because CPU's basically looks like witchcraft while the video above makes it very clear that it's basic forging and refining and chemistry that we have taken to an absurd level
