So this is a tie in to my previous post https://forum.questionablequesting.com/threads/writing-ideas-for-others.37119/ and in that I mentioned into the dead: our darkest days and well I COULD wait around and let others look it up I decided that instead I would post about it, and drag some more people into this game's story because it is by far, one of the most fascinating things I've played, atleast in my opinion. Please Note that this game is in early access, so all of this is not final. It's on steam for 24:99 or 25 dollars after taxes but trust me, it's very much worth the price. Also if the computer you own can handle it, I STRONGLY recommend playing the game with high graphics quality, it looks AMAZING, just for reference on terms on graphics, if your wondering why there's blank signs and a noticeable lack of graffiti, the graphics settings are too low.

into the dead: our darkest days or just itd: odd for short takes place in the fictional metropolis of Walton city, texas. The game's starting date (as in the date the game starts) is August 20, 1980 and a zombie apocalypse has been ravaging Walton for atleast a few weeks, Mayor John Ward has fled the city but he claims it's to "better coordinate with our boys in blue" despite Walton's police force having been completely wiped out with 9th precinct station being completely overrun. It's now up to whatever survivors you play as to escape the city, dead or alive, preferably alive. So the game TECHNICALLY takes place in the 1980s but there's a heavy late 70s look to the game.

Arguably the most important part of a zombie game, the safe area, but in this game, the safe area moves because zombies keep attacking the barricades and eventually your repairs will be unable to match their attack force or you run out of wood to repair the damage.

As shown before, there's an entire fan wiki for this game which lists every character currently in the game, so this will focus on characters that I have personally grouped together with each other, again links are orange on the website, so just click on the character's name to see their full information.

COLTS! A group of teachers and students from Mercer high, well I assume some are, named for the school baseball team, just like the Wolverines of red dawn.
Teachers: Darrel Hertzler the baseball coach, Christine the (retired) gardening teacher, and Rahul the chemistry teacher.
Students: leo the baseball star, Isabel the bad luck magnet, Vince the troubled bad boy, and Charlie Guzman aka little upchuck.

Veteran's Bar. The name will make since when I explain who's in this group.
Sebastian the 'nam vet bar owner, Diane the bar waitress, Robbie Walker the social drinking writer from Wisconsin and Staff Sergeant Bowman of the 1st special forces group.

First response. Pretty self explanatory, surviving first responders.
Miguel the paramedic and highway patrol officer Kirk Waylon. These two are both Recruitable, it doesn't matter who recruits them, but I do recommend it be someone that would benefit from having them, like not having a skill that Kirk or Miguel have.

Tragedy family. A newly formed family, United by loss. Hector the survivalist, Michelle the Widow, and hector's teenage daughter Kayla. Hector lost his wife, Michelle lost her husband, and kayla is probably grumpy at Hector for 'replacing' her mom.

If your wondering why only some characters have last names it's because every character is referred to strictly by first name with few exceptions, Kirk's last name can be seen on his name tag, Charlie calls Darrel Mr Hertzler, Charlie also yells his full name while declaring his hatred of his little upchuck nickname, and for whatever reason Robbie's last name is in his survivor bio likewise Bowman is only referred to by last name.

1: A FUCKING FIREFIGHTER. Despite there being TWO fire stations on the map no. 8 and 13 there is not ONE FIREFIGHTER! ZOMBIE OR SURVIVOR! I admit I'm biased because my aunt is a firefighter, BUT MY POINT STILL STANDS!

2: National Guard. Technically they're already in the game... as zombies, your telling me that the national guard went in with gas masks and armor and ALL of them because zombies? No, that's not happening.

3: Joe's dad. One of the survivors that you can recruit is Joe Tuivasa (he says his full name over a radio which is how you meet him) and he mentions that he's looking for his dad, who is not currently in the game, Joe states that his dad is a short fused former wrestler hince why I'm interested.

4: another person from out of town. Robbie is from Wisconsin and Christine is from Florida, so maybe somebody from California? Yes I did recommend California just because this game is set in texas.
