Prologue: Strange Visitor

The universe shivers then parts. A small portion of existence makes way for the Devil. There is no tear, no violent rip. The universe simply recognizes it's better and makes space.

A man in a black suit with short golden hair, parted at the forehead, sleek and immaculate, with blue eyes clearer than the purest streams of light walked into Cafe Sweety. He had a firm but relaxed gait, his steps slow but intentional.

The interior of the cafe was brightly lit, with white walls decorated by posters and images. Creme colored glass ceiling lights with warm bulbs shone down over the dozen or so empty tables with their metal chairs. Even the menu was decorated that hung on the wall behind the counter.

Behind the wooden topped polished counter, with her head resting on the counter, leaning forward in her chair was a young lady with long silvery gray hair, tipped at the ends with black. Her left shoulder was exposed from the white shirt she wore slightly pulled over the shoulder.

Faint snoring could be heard from her.

"You have a customer." the devil speaks quiet, deliberate words, tapping the small metal bell at the counter, and instantly, as if possessed, the young lady wakes up, looking up at who woke her up.

"So sleepy.." She mumbles, wiping the sleep out of her eyes with her hands

When she finishes, she asks the man a question.

"What can I do for... I mean, What can I get you?" She seems to short circuit at the end, jolting awake and narrowing her eyes. Seconds pass. Something about this man isn't right. He isn't giving off any heat, nor has he breathed since she saw him. His chest hasn't risen or fallen once.

"A coffee. Two creams, one sugar. Also, a friend and his Nikkes will be here soon. Put their orders on my tab." He said, before looking into her eyes, his deep blue eyes seemed to pull her into a world she didn't want to go. Memories of her mercenary work, her past, and things she deeply wanted to bury began to swell in her mind.

She shook her head, looking down at the notepad at the table. Taking a pen, she wrote down the man's order, only to stop.

"Wait a second..." She mumbled, yawned, stretched her arms up wide, before looking to the blonde man in front of her.

"What's your name?" she asked, her weariness fading somewhat, only for her curiosity to rise. He still hadn't breathed once.

"Lucifer." He said, giving her his name, and she narrowed her eyes.

"Please don't joke. What's your real name?" she asked, her alertness rising.

"I'll show you. It's easier than conversation." He said, leaning forward and placing his pointer finger in the middle of her forehead, forcefully opening her third eye. She shivered, as if she was drenched in ice cold water.

Her past opened before her, then the past of her parents, their parents, every second of their lives, before the two flew into the cosmos where the planet was a tiny speck, they grew and grew, until they rose above the universe, where in fields of stars and sparkling spiritual streams flew over and through castles of prismatic stone. Then they flew downward below the universe, into the pits of hell, where billions of screaming souls toiled in fields of blades that shredded and reforged them, as they endlessly ran from demons.

Then, they flashed back into the cosmos, the universe twisting and swirling like a bad dream, flying back to the birth of the first stars. Then, just as suddenly, they swirled back into Cafe Sweety, and The Devil sat at a table sipping on a coffee she never made.

"Do you believe now, Ms. Frima?"

Instantly, Frima pulled her rifle from under the counter, not even wasting a single second, and fired upon him. She was driven by a newly awakened instinctual desire to remove him at all costs.

"Boring." He said, and the light drained from the room. The bullets faded to nothing, and Lucifer got up.

"It's bad form to attack your customers. Next time I arrive, I expect better service." The Devil chided, before dissolving into a pillar of calm white light, and fading to nothing.
