Most of the Revolutionary guard answers to Mikheil with Loyalty simply from how steady and balanced his foundation is as a leader compared to the armed forces under Trotsky which is a mess of half starved feral men badly equipped or the replacement for Okhrana under the inhuman statue that is Dzerzhinsky who sits on the top of a stage of paranoia and torture.
I'd be willing to bet most of the Revolutionary Guard would defect to Stalin if he kills Mikheil due to it looking like passing the torch between brothers.
 
Normally, I don't support incest in a historical fic (I despise it and I have no problem with Targaryen-centric fanfics) but in this case "I grinned, outwardly. Inside, though, the thought coiled like a snake: If I bind my blood to his, if Yakov is tied to my daughter, then maybe—just maybe—when the purges come, he'll hesitate. A daughter-in-law, grandchildren" it's completely understandable, still unfortunate.
 
Lol, the fact that the guy essentially made himself the babayaga of the entire soviet union is kind of funny. The fact that completely ignores that to the soldiers his actions make him out to be completed insane but competent is hilarious.

The worst part? It's not even inventive cruelty. It's just some generically prompted list that ChatGPT spat out when asked to make some historical Soviet-themed plan. It would be less gauche if it was something the author had actually taken time to write.

Oh, and if you think that list is the only part of the fic that was generated by AI? No, the whole thing is littered with AI slop and turns of phrase. Pretty sure more than 80% is spat straight out of ChatGPT.

Is there really such a desperate need that Mikheil couldn't resupply in Tobolsk?
His men managed to walk there from Tyumen so they knew how much food they needed on the return trip even slowed by a baggage train.

Stalin seems to be a deeply distrustful man if both his pride and trust in Mikheil is getting triggered over how deep in his brothers pockets he is.
The man saves you papers over your running off from family then gives you the tools of power in shared pursuit and you think he's doing this over a chance of a throne or Vizier position?
Me thinks you need to spend time in a mirror then have a serious talk with Mikheil on what he wants

Probably would have been a healthier headspace if his son Yakov cane with him.
