"Yeah… I guess I have to now. I didn't really want to have this conversation… and I didn't want you to see those either." Alice replied softly after a moment of silence that felt longer than it had any right to be.

"Yeah… I'd appreciate knowing why you have those… uh cool paintings just a bit.. Weird don't you think?" Alan asked as he turned his head slightly to gaze at that one particular painting once more before turning his head to gaze back towards Alice once more.

The woman before him looked different than usual, maybe it was because of how much had happened today, neither of them were exactly in the right state of mind, neither Alan and neither Alice. One had just had his house completely ruined and then had to come live with literal vampires and then proceeded to find paintings of the person he had slowly started to trust literally eating people.

Whilst the other had just had to fight her family to keep said person that had lost his home here, had to fight the people who were her family and loved her so that she could keep the one she wanted safe and sound.

"Should we stop pretending Alan?" Alice asked softly, her voice more gentle than Alan had ever heard it before, it was barely a whisper and Alan doubted that he would have even heard it if he had been fully human as he had been.

"Stop… pretending?" Alan asked softly, equally as soft as Alice had been just now, though it was more that he was shocked she wasn't trying to make an excuse rather than the fact that he wanted to reply to her gently.

His thoughts were in complete and utter disarray, he hadn't expected that today would be the day that the masks would be finally falling down, though he had known that the mask and cover wouldn't be kept for much longer, a lot of stuff had already happened and his own actions hadn't exactly been hidden perfectly and neither had the actions of Edward Cullen who had straight up simply ousted himself in front of everyone simply to save a single human girl from her death.

'What… what do I do? No matter what, I must keep the system a secret, I just have to tell her that I awakened my powers slowly and normally, I dont have to mention the system in any way at all, so thats fine. It's not that hard, just make up a lie about not knowing, the less information that i give, the more i pretend that I dont actually know anything about my powers, the easier the lie will be to believe, I dont have to form some kind of complicated lie. I can simply tell her that I don't know whats going on with me at all, and in a way… it wouldn't even be a complete lie. I don't really know what the system really even is in the first place.' Alan thought to himself, his thoughts moving at speeds faster than they ever had before as he found a way to get out of his situation without having to face the death penalty that the system had enforced upon him.

"Yeah Alan… we both know that things aren't really exactly… normal don't we? You have your own secrets and I have mine, and I… you don't need to tell me yours, that's okay though I would appreciate it if you did. But… I can't really hide my own secrets after this or you could just y'know pretend that you saw nothing?" Alice said softly, as she turned her body fully so that she was facing Alan completely as she looked towards him, her eyes were a light amber colour, nowhere near dark, for a second it almost looked like they were glistening with tears though a split second later, they appeared completely normal once more.

Alice's own mind was filled with dozens of thoughts, thoughts that were entangled with fear, fear that the one person she wanted to keep safe, the one person that she wanted to keep close to herself would reject her being, would reject what she was and most of all… that he would be afraid of her. And that last thought, it was the most prevalent one, in her mind… there really was no other way that this could end, afterall she knew what she was. She knew what her kind were known for.

"I… I don't know exactly about myself, but I can tell you what I know, as little as I do, if you want to share your own first." Alan replied, as he shook his head before releasing a slow long winded sigh that carried through both his exhaustion of the situations that had happened today aswell as the exhaustion of the secret that he had been unable to share with anyone, even now he wouldn't be able to tell everything but still… he could tell a part of it and hope that the system wouldnt penalise him for it.

"I'm a vampire." Alice said simply, with a voice so soft that it was practically a whisper, and yet the way she said it clearly carried through the meaning that this was not a joke, that this wasn't something she was making up. She said it simply, as a fact, because that was what it was. A fact, a secret spoken aloud to the one person she was most afraid of hearing it.

Finally! This is a pretty good reveal. He doesn't even need a good reason for his transformation. Just call it his second puberty lmao.

I don't know if he is nerdy enough to know this D&D reference. But he could say that he is a fey rather than an elf. But he doesn't fear cold iron. But at the same time, neither do vampires burn in the sun. So whatever.

But what I know is. It's impossible for his system to get revealed. Twilight is too early to have any sort of good computing or any story about it, and any that are are speculative fictions about AGI taking over. So unless there is an ass pull. He is not getting revealed.

At long last, the moment has come. Alan is finally gonna learn the vampires he so much feared are vegetarians. I have been waiting for this for so long and I'm glad it has come this way. They both knew something was up and the mask and pretending had to end at some point.

I am curious to see just how much has the world been expanded upon. Are elfs a thing in this or some system shenanigan? Can't wait to read more, thanks for the chapter!

"I'm a vampire"



The words resonated inside of Alan's mind, he had known, he had known and yet hearing it directly coming out of her mouth in such a blunt statement still did its rounds on his thoughts, he hadn't expected it to be stated so simply, so factually.



'I thought… I thought that she would atleast talk around it for a moment… not just say it but at the end of the day, the way how she says it doesn't matter, there really is no need to beat around the bush anymore is there.' Alan thought to himself for a brief moment before his outward expression finally changed, turning into something more serious than it had been before as he slowly lowered his head and nodded towards her.



"I see… That… that's certainly something, I don't really know how to respond to that." Alan said towards her, his voice slightly awkward, he truly had no idea on how to follow up on such a statement.



Alice remained still for a moment before her eyes slowly widened slightly as she gazed at Alan who was seated before her on the bed, so close to her that she could hear his heart, it was beating fast, faster than normal and yet it wasn't the frantic beating that she had expected to hear from someone.



"Do you… not believe me?" She asked slowly, her voice clearly tinged with confusion at his quite lackluster reaction from what she had imagined inside of her mind. She had been thinking about the reveal for a while now, her mind and imagination had blown it higher and higher to the point that she had almost started to believe that as soon as she told the truth to him, he would start screaming, cursing at her or even raising pitchforks, reality however seemed to be much less dramatic in comparison to what her mind had conjured up.



Alan shook his head as he responded in an even tone.



"No, I believe you. As you said, I have my own secrets that are equally as unbelievable." Alan said as he lifted his right arm and brought it up to his neck and rubbed it slowly before looking back towards the paintings and then back towards her once more.


"I guess that explains… the cannibalistic paintings? That… those are quite gruesome to say the least." Alan said slowly, his voice still slightly maintaining that awkwardness however it was quickly disappearing with each word as he regained his bearings once more, much more quickly than any regular human would have whilst sitting on the same bed as a vampire after just discovering her true nature aswell as the fact that she painted about macabre scenes featuring herself eating others.



"That… Yeah. Those… those are paintings of the past… not of the current. I… I don't eat humans anymore, I promise." Alice responded as her voice lowered once more, the slight fear that had been momentarily overlapped by her shock at his reaction swiftly returning once more.

"You don't eat humans? But you're… a vampire?" Alan said in confusion, his tone slightly tinged with disbelief and a good bit of suspicion.



'Don't eat humans? What? Is that even possible?' Alan thought to himself in confusion, he had never heard of vampires that didn't feed on human blood, on every single story that he had ever read or heard about, vampires were creatures of the night that feasted upon humanity. But it was as these thoughts were coursing through his mind that his thoughts wandered back to what he had seen of the cullens.



'Though… they most certainly dont act like vampires in the stories, they go out during the day, though I havn't seen them ever go out into the direct sunlight, its still quite a bit different.' Alan thought before his gaze refocused onto the small pixie like vampire infront of him.



Alice nodded her head as quickly as she could, words spilling out of her mouth almost instantly, almost seemingly frantic in her denial about his assumption.



"No, no we don't. We drink Animal blood, only animals, it's why our eyes are amber and not red, a vampire that feeds on human blood has red eyes. Y'know like the ones in the stories and movies." Alice replied.



"Animal blood? And that works? If that works why dont all vampires just… do that?" Alan muttered out loud in confusion, the question getting out of his mouth before he could stop it, his curiosity, already peaked.



Alice froze for a moment, her body becoming slightly rigid for but a fraction of a second before it relaxed once more as her head turned away, her gaze looking out of the window to the left of the room.



"Because it doesn't work as well. It… doesn't taste the same and the effect isn't the same either. If a vampire drinks human blood, they're satisfied, there's no hunger left after a feeding. Animal blood… never truly removes the hunger, it lowers it, makes it more manageable, but its still there, a burning feeling in your throat, like you're thirsty and no matter how much you drink… it doesn't go away. It's present… almost all of the time." Alice said softly, her voice tinged with an emotion that Alan could only presume was… sadness.



"That, that must suck." Alan mumbled softly as his imagination instantly got to work, his mind putting him in her position almost instantly.



'Being unable to ever be truly fine unless you drink human blood, needing it to live normally… and the alternative is feeling like your dying of thirst all of the time if you dont want to kill someone. What… how hard must a life like that be?' Alan thought to himself, almost shivering at the mere thought of him having to experience anything like that himself.

It's fun to see that Alice expected a bigger reaction than "" to her"big reveal"

It's extra funny that the reveal of her family's "vegetarian" lifestyle was bigger than the undead one.

To be fair, Vampires don't necessarily need to kill people to feed. There's nothing stopping them from breaking into a handful of people's homes at night to get a bit of blood while they sleep so they can truly feed without killing anyone.

I don't think Twilight Vampires can Ghoul people, but that's a useful alternative depending on the setting.

Not to mention that they've got a lot of cash and there's a lot of people who'd secretly sell some blood every so often to the rich weirdos from out of town. Carlisle is literally a doctor, if anyone could safely extract blood from a willing (paid) donor it's him.

I think it was more a "it's very hard to stop drinking once you get going" which is explained when Bella is bitten at the end of book 1 and for some godforsaken reason they put Edward to try and suck the vampire venom out of her bloodstream without killing her instead of Carlisle the vampire so good at resisting the bloodlust he works as a doctor (it might be his mutant vampire power).

Edward drinks a bit more than needed but manages to stop before killing Bella and she survives as a human. (Funny enough, in the genderbent version, Male!Bella becomes a vampire here, cutting some 3 books of needless drama)

Honestly, the Twilight version of Vampirism is one of if not the best you could pick from fiction. You get Super Strength, Speed, Endurance, Durability and a personalised super power. With the downsides being that you sparkle like you bathed in body glitter in sunlight and that you crave human blood (which basically every type of vampire does). The only way to perma kill you is to do a GladOs: tearing you to pieces and throwing every piece into a fire). There is only arguably one species of creature as strong as you: the true werewolves, they're stronger, but only when in werewolf form which also makes them into a mindless beast. Lucky for you the Vampire Mafia hunted them to almost extinction a while back.

"It… It does suck… it sucks a lot actually." Alice replied as her tone of voice completely changed for but a moment as she lowered her gaze back towards the ground, her expression had turned even more somber than it had before, it was clearly… not something that she had managed to admit lightly.

The usual Alice was cheery, someone that skipped around and giggled almost at everything whilst smiling at everyone. To admit something like this, it was not something Alice had ever done with many people, with perhaps the only exception being Carlisle Cullen who had helped her since finding her acting like a monster in the forests, decades ago.

"I… I'm not exactly normal either… but I don't… I don't know what I am or what's happening to me." Alan said softly at that moment, his voice tight and small, as he similarly to her wasn't even looking at her as he admitted his own secret.

'Keep it vague… as vague as possible.' Alan thought to himself as his hands that were hidden inbetween his knees slowly clenched into fists that shook just slightly.

"You… don't know?" Alice asked in pure confusion as she gazed towards him, lifting her gaze from the ground, her eyes had widened slightly in confusion as she gazed at him, her eyes swerving over him from top to bottom before landing on his clenched lower lip.

After a few moments of silence, she finally spoke once more as she gave a nod of her head.

"I… believe you aswell. Just… can you explain? Or I guess, we both have explaining to do, don't we?" Alice murmured slowly as she gave another nod, more to herself than it was directed towards him.

"Yeah… I guess we do have quite a bit of explaining to do… do you want me to start first or you?" Alan asked carefully, truth be told, he wanted to go last, he could just end it more quickly and he would make sure that whilst Alice told her story, he could interact with her as much as possible whilst at the same time learning more information on just how much he could exactly trust her and how much of his secret he could potentially reveal.

"Alright, yeah… I'll go first, I don't mind… just give me a moment to gather my thoughts please." Alice replied as she slowly took a deep breath, her chest expanding, she didn't need to, vampires had no need to breathe however it was a motion that she had done so many times before that it had become a sort of calming move for her nerves, something to pull her back and calm and center herself back into the current situation.

The next few seconds were calm… silent, it wasn't an empty silence, it was a silence that was filled with everything that was about to be said, with a sort of tension that wasn't exactly scary anymore, the greatest secrets had already been revealed, now all that was left was the ones that were related to them, that explained them, their pasts and their situations.

"I don't have many memories of my life as a human… right before that, Vampires are immortal but we were never born as vampires, vampire's can't be born, we can only be turned from humans. I was turned a long time ago… but I think i was part of a mental institution before I was turned and my memories as a human are far and few between, I don't truly remember much besides my own name which was Alice. I don't even remember how I ended up in that institution and neither do i remember the reason as to why." Alice said softly, her voice slightly shaking for a moment as her mind wandered back towards the start of what she remembered as her life, to the foggy memories that had never truly returned to her, to memories that were so broken that they were merely fragments.

'She… doesn't remember her human life at all… I guess that would explain why she does act a bit… less human than the rest of the Cullens, she was never truly a human, if she doens't have the memories than she is only trying to pretend to be a human as her act without actually knowing what being one is like whilst the rest of the Cullens most likely still have their memories as humans and thus acting is far less difficult in their positions.' Alan thoughts instantly, whilst his mind had felt bad for her for a brief moment, his curiosity was already far too big to be left stuck on such an emotion as he started theorising about her behaviour patterns aswell as past situations that he had been in with her and then looking at them through an entirely different lens… and in a way it explained a lot.

"So… you don't even remember who your mother or father was? Or your family or anything at all?" Alan asked curiously as he tilted his head slightly to the side as he looked at the vampire sitting before him.

"No, nothing. After I was turned, and I had no memories, for a while I acted like a wild animal, just going through forests, eating anything that came in my way… yes humans. Thats the images that you saw in the paintings, It's not like I even knew what I was doing was wrong in the first place, I had no memories of my humanity and a vampire lacks the well morals that certain humans instinctively have about not harming or eating another human… to vampires all there is… is hunger." Alice said as she released a long winded sigh.

'She… doesn't remember anything at all, what must that feel like? What must knowing nothing feel like? I already… suffer so much from knowing nothing about the system, and thats only a part of my life, a large part of my life now but still… I know who I am, I know what I want, I know what I want to be… she knew none of those… none of them at all.' Alan thought to himself as the emotion of pity remerged once more, it was an emotion that somewhat combined with empathy, he could somewhat understand what she felt like, atleast a part of it, the system had taken over his life one morning and offered practically no answers, it had thrust him into a world that he wasn't ready to enter at all.



But even then… he knew that the comparison wasn't even close, Alice had been thrust into the supernatural world with no memories at all, she had become a monster and had no idea of what she had even been before.



'In a way… maybe that was easier for her. Maybe having her human memories would have actually made it harder for her, by not knowing anything at all about her past and who she had been, she atleast didn't know what she lost though from the look on her face now… it seems like she learned of it. Or maybe she didn't… maybe she's just envious of humans, and truly… who am i to tell her to not be envious, in her position, I would be too.' Alan thought before his outward expression slowly changed into a softer one as he released a soft long winded sigh that matched the one Alice had just released moments ago.



"I'm in a bit of a different position, I just woke up one day, like two weeks ago and suddenly nothing was the same anymore, my entire life was flipped upside down." Alan said softly as he shook his head as his mind wandered back to her… to the one person that he still hated with a dire passion, the person he had to face, his first real challenge and his first time experiencing true loss.



"Just… woke up and changed? What? What do you mean Alan?" Alice asked as her somber tired expression changed almost instantly, her eyes narrowing, not in suspicion, not in aggression… but in concern for the boy that sat before her.



"Exactly what I said. I woke up and suddenly, I was changing, it was like I could start to see better each day, I could walk more silently which was weird and then my face started changing too, I'm sure everyones noticed by now. There havn't really been any other changes besides those until now and they've started to slow down but yeah thats basically the essentials of it. Thankfully though, I didn't wake up suddenly and have any craving to harm or y'know… eat people." Alan said as his eyes met hers, his tone of voice was perfect, there was no flucutaions in it, no change in his pulse, it was all perfect even as he told half truths that hid the complete reality of what had happened to him.



For a moment after speaking out, Alan stopped, waiting for it, waiting for that damned notification from the system that would spell his doom, however thankfully, it didn't come, he was fine, completely fine.



'So… as long as the system isn't known about, I can talk about the changes that came from it, I just can't tell the truth on how those changes came to be.' Alan thought inside of his mind, nodding to himself inwardly.



This had been a risk, a major one that directly involved his life as its stakes however it was one that had to be done, it had to be done for what Alan wanted to achieve atleast, he could have continued to hide it or atleast refuse to talk about it, however if he wanted to increase his reputation and relationship status with Alice, he had to atleast speak a little about the secret that was not really one, not after everyone in Forks had seen what he looked like now.



"That… okay, so you woke up and slowly day by day, you were getting stronger and seeing better? And then your face also changed… which yeah, everyone's seen that. Thankfully no humans really thought much about it besides plastic surgery, well I guess regular people dont go around thinking of anything supernatural instantly, that's kind of a last resort and even if they did think of it, they'd be called crazy by everyone else." Alice said as her eyes slowly returned back to normal as she released another sigh, for what felt like the the thousandth time in mere minutes and then she leaned backwards, getting in a more comfortable position.



"Yeah, that's basically it. And you're right, no human in their sane mind would think of anything supernatural, but… well your not human and my fear currently is that something else has learned that I'm not exactly normal… my house seems to be the doing of one of those people" Alan said as he ran a hand through his hair before standing up as he started walking around the room in a slow circle, his eyebrows scrunched together as he thought back to the sight of the eyes in the forest.

"There's something that I didn't tell you before about this morning, since well I couldn't really tell you about the supernatural stuff. I actually saw something as I was heading towards the school." Alan said as he stopped walking around and looked back towards Alice once more, having made up his mind.


'I can atleast be honest about this now, with this, it should be a lot easier to catch whoever that fucker is.' Alan thought in his mind as he looked towards Alice.



"You saw something? What was it? Was… it a wolf?" Alice asked almost instantly as she stood up onto her feet from where she was seated on the edge of the bed, her eyes slowly changing colour from that beautiful amber into what could only be called two pits of the abyss that seemed to be staring back directly into Alan's soul.



"I… am not sure, but I think so, I saw a pair of yellow slitted eys, clearly wolf like. As for whether it was actually a wolf, I can't be one hundred percent sure but it's more than likely. You said that I smelled like a wet dog in the morning so, the clues all point towards that. Do you know anything about it?" Alan asked seriously as he thought back to what he had seen during the morning at the edge of the forest.



"Yeah, Yeah. I most definitely know what that thing your talking about could have been. Infact I'm almost completely sure in my assumption already." Alice said, her voice having gone lower than usual, turning almost into a growl.



Looking at the almost feral woman that had been acting completely normally merely moments before, Alan slowly raised his hands up in a calming gesture.



"Okay… calm down for a bit. I really don't want a feral vampire to be in the same room as me right now." Alan said, his voice slightly tight as he gazed at her, whilst he knew that she wasn't angry or growling towards him or at him, it was still an unnerving sight seeing Alice acting so… inhumanly infront of him when she had been hiding this side of her from him before.



For a moment, his words didn't seem to register in her mind at all, too lost in her own emotions that semeed to be momentarily overwhelming her mind.



In that single moment, Alan's hands had already lowered down, his eyes slowly started narrowing as his fingers twitched just slightly, his hands slowly forming a motion as if he was about to drag something out of nowhere at the sight of any movement.



That moment that seemed to last almost forever however passed and in the very next moment, Alice's eyes changed once more, turning more amber-like in colour though never fully returning to their previous radiance as she took another calming breath before turning towards him.



"Right… sorry about that. I just… what happened to you and who did it… now that I know who did it, it makes me even angerer than before. Because it means the problem is even bigger than i thought. I had a suspicion before but this confirms it completely and this… could lead to a war that… I don't think any of us want." Alice said, her words somehow both explaining her reaction aswell as causing a dozen more questions to appear inside of Alan's own mind, it was both cryptic and confusing.



'What does she mean by that? What more problems? Shouldn't there be less problems now that we know who it was, or is it that the identity of the person who did that to me is someone with either power or influence in the region… that's most likely the case if this problem as she says could lead to a war between the vampires and these… wolves.' Alan thought to himself, his mind instantly linking the information together as his hands slowly lowered down completely once more and a frown appeared on his expression.



"I'd like an explanation on that, as I said, I'm quite new to this supernatural stuff and I don't really know any of the… factions or whatever you guys call them." Alan said as he walked back towards the bed and sat down slowly, his voice having regained its calm once more almost as easily as flipping a switch.



Alice nodded before sitting down once more before him and then finally speaking, her own expression was a matching frown as the one that was currently on Alans.



"The wolf that attacked your apartment is most definitely a part of the Quileute Tribe, the reservation. Im sure you've heard of them." Alice said at first as she waited for a moment until Alan gave a nod in confirmation.



'Ofcourse I know about them, everyone in Forks does.' Alan thought to himself instantly before his mind came to a screeching halt almost as soon as that thought had passed through his mind and his eyes slowly widened as he looked at Alice.



"You… you're not about to tell me that the entirety of the Quileute… are that. And that… I've somehow managed to make an enemy of them…" Alan asked slowly, his voice completely and utterly losing its previous calm, his mind overwhelmed by so many emotions so quickly about the situation that he didn't even know how to react.



Alice slowly gave a nod of her head.



"Not… the entirety of them are wolves, but yeah… there's quite a few."



'Ah… fuck me.'

'Ah… fuck me.' Alan thought as he felt like banging his head against the wall right at that very moment, it felt like the world had just decided to slam another ton of bricks right on top of his head and told him to deal with it once again.



'Last time it was whatever the fuck Joana was and now this bullshit… can I get a break? Please? Just a few days? A few peaceful days?' Alan thought to himself, a tiny bit of despair crawling through his mind as he all of the sudden felt like he had just run an entire marathon, the tiredness creeping through his entire body in seconds, making him feel as if he had aged dozens of years in mere seconds.



"That… that sounds pretty bad huh… still, I don't think I've done anything against them that they would attack me for, thats why I'm… confused." Alan said honestly as he shook his head to get his mind back on track once more as he looked towards Alice. His honest confusion clearly visible on his expression, he truly did not know how he had managed to anger the wolf tribe at all.



Alice raised an eyebrow, her own confusion deeping as she similarly thought about it, it shouldn't have been that easy to anger the quileute tribe, and yet Alan somehow had managed to do it enough that they had straight up attacked and destroyed his house, something that the quileute usually wouldn't do. They were more careful than to simply start attacking apartments in the middle of the city.



"That… that part is a bit confusing for me aswell, If you had done something to anger them, I'm sure that you would have known…" Alice said slowly, her voice tinged with that same confusion that was inside of her mind.



"Wait, so before we go on… are the quileute the bad guys? Or did I just anger people that I shouldn't have normally been able to anger. Maybe there was some kind of misunderstanding or something?" Alan said almost as soon as he saw the confusion on her face and in her voice.



'Could it be that they thought I was some kind of evil being or something? If they are wolves maybe they could smell that I'm not human and decided that I was harmful or something?' Alan thought to himself as he looked towards Alice, waiting for her response.



A response that seemed to only further confirm his theory that this could have all been a major misunderstanding.



"They… I guess they could be called good guys, they protect Forks and the humans around here, have been doing it for centuries now. So yeah, in a way you could call them the good guys to anything human… but your not exactly human though you dont seem to know yourself what's happening to you. Still… they wouldn't really attack unless they had a reason to believe that you are a danger to Forks." Alice said as she shook her head, clearing away the idea that they were evil, the Quileute and the Cullens didn't exactly share the best relationship with one another however both of the groups could grudgingly admit that the other wasn't exactly evil.



It was at that moment that Alice spoke once more as she looked at Alan.



"Wait… you were going around with those guys, the bullies right? And they've been gone for a few days… could the Quileute think you have something to do with that? Do you?" Alice asked as she raised an eyebrow. She was basically asking Alan if he had anything to do with the disappearance of the teenagers yet her expression didn't seem alarmed at all, it was as if she truly didn't care if he actually did something to them at all, she simply wanted to know so she could learn more about the Quileutes intentions.



'She… truly doesn't really have human morals does she?' Alan thought to himself as he once more was faced with a part of Alice… that was clearly not exactly normal by any human standard that he had seen before.



For a moment, Alan didn't reply, silence hanging in the air for a few moments before he opened his mouth for a second and then closed it again… and deciding to simply nod his head.



Releasing a long winded sigh and coughing slightly before looking away from her and towards the left where the ceiling to floor windows were, Alan looked outside, into the forest surrounding the mansion for a few moments before replying.



"Yeah… I… well It's not my fault they disappeared but I do know why they did. I was there." Alan said as he closed his eyes for a moment, the images of what he had seen inside of his apartment reappearing inside of his mind, whilst his hands unknowingly to him started shaking slightly as his mind conjured the image of dead eyes, of maggots and flies and of something crawling out of a human body as if it was a skin bag.



A split second later, Alan's eyes snapped open as he released a soft gasp, his breathing had gotten ragged without him even noticing it at all, and Alice who had been on the other side of the bed, had already gotten up and walked to stand before him, her hands on his shoulders before he had even noticed what was going on.



He had been lost in his thoughts, the outside world completely fading away for a few moments as he had remembered exactly how the so nicknamed bullies of Forks High had disappeared.

"Alan? Alan… are you okay?" Alice asked, the worry clear in her tone as she looked down at the boy that was sitting before her, whos expression had changed almost completely, his complexion turning slightly paler whilst a slight sheen of sweat could be seen on his forehead as he sat there.

'He… what must have happened? He's… acting similar to someone going through a post traumatic response. Just… what happened to you Alan?' Alice thought to herself, her hands on his shoulders were firm, not moving an inch, the only stable connection to the world that had seemed to start spinning for a moment.

'I thought that I had atleast gotten over it a bit but as it turns out… it's still just as bad as it was.' Alan thought to himself, as he took a long tired deep breath in before slowly releasing it out, his hands that had become fists on his legs slowly unclenching as he raised his chin and looked up at her.

"This.. I'm okay now, just sit down… I'll explain what happened." Alan said softly.

Alice seemed to want to reject for a moment, her worry still clear on her expression but after a second of thought she gave a nod of her head and then sat down on the bed besides him.

"Okay… take your time, I'll be here, I can be silent if you want or… talk. Whichever." Alice replied as she looked him directly in the eyes, the worry was still present in her, it was infact gnawing at her mind however at this moment, she was trying to be stable for him, to be a rock in his world that would not move, would not switch locations. Trying to be there for him actually instead of simply being there and making it about herself, about her worry.

Looking at her, Alan felt a different emotion slowly appear inside of him, an emotion that he could yet not categorize and neither could he reckognize, it was the first time in his albeit not that long life, that someone was looking at him and actually looking instead of simply saying that they were going to hear him out, instead of the usual where everyone simply pretended to actually be listening to the poor orphan boy. This was the first time in his life that someone was actually looking at him and listening to him, waiting for him.

*Gulp*

Taking an almost involuntary gulp after feeling his throat get tighter than it had ever before in his life, Alan looked back down at his own open palms on his knees for a few moments before looking up at her.

"There was someone or rather something… to tell the story, I guess I have to go back to what happened. The guys, they were acting a bit weird, one of them told me that they had this… weed and that it was the best thing any of them had ever had, that they were somehow smarter or better physically after they had well smoked it, and at the time, I had just started changing, so I was on the guard against anything that looked out of the normal… and I thought maybe by going with them to their house, I'd be able to y'know maybe find some clues." Alan said slowly, his voice tight as his hands started shaking slightly but he quickly gathered back his remaining mental force and tried to keep calm as he recounted.

"That… I don't think I've ever heard of magical plants before… but I'm guessing as you thought… the weed wasn't normal was it?" Alice asked softly, inquiring further about the story, clearly telling him that she was listening.

Alan hesitated for a moment before nodding, he was still unsure if he should tell her the entire story, still unsure if he should continue however he had already started, and at this point, he simply wanted to tell someone, anyone about what had happened to him.

'I'm already talking about it… I… there's no reason to hide it, maybe I can even get help from her or something… anything… but the reality is that I just want to talk to someone about it. I'm just trying to make excuses about finding a reason to actually do so.' Alan thought to himself, as he slowly realised his own intentions that he himself had been hiding from himself, from his own mind.

"No… It really wasn't some normal plant or weed… it it was much worse… so as I was saying, I headed with them afterschool, it was actually after you invited me somewhere but I told you no and that I already had plans made beforehand… that was the plan. And so I headed over there on their car, everything was normal for a while y'know, we were joking around in the car and and the girl… she was nice to me. We finally arrived there and… climbed up in this abandoned apartment that they had found or something and had made it as their small base of sorts… dumb teenage stuff and all." Alan said as the closer he got to what had been the first event, the harder his breathing grew, back then he hadn't been this bad emotionally, in fact even fighting Joanna hadn't made him react in this way… maybe it had been the adrenaline, maybe it had been something else at the moment however only now, was he actually feeling the brunt of it.

Taking another calm deep breath, Alan stopped for a moment, waiting for a few seconds to gather himself back together once more.

Alice didn't intervene, she didn't ask for what happened after, she simply waited whilst looking at him with those eyes that had turned completely amber now, they almost looked like they were glistening, as if the vampire could somehow shed tears at the sight of his own reaction to what had happened to him.

"What happened next however… it most certainly wasn't dumb teenage shit." Alan finally spoke after a few moments of silence as he lifted his gaze and looked at Alice, his own eyes were shaking slightly, though he himself didn't know.

"The weed… it really wasn't normal. Thankfully, I didn't smoke any as I didn't even get a turn, not that I would have even tried it after what I saw happening to them. It was as if they had all gone insane, they were no longer the friends that I had made, they were something else, like someone had taken addiction to an extreme, and then they started dropping onto the couches, completely limp almost, which in and of itself was weird considering how they had told me that they had gotten stronger and y'know actually better after smoking it. That… was the first warning." Alan muttered softly, his words were almost a whisper however to Alice with her vampiric senses, they were as loud as if he had shouted them out.



"That… that really doesn't sound normal, if they had been regular smokers then just a small amount of it shouldn't have affected them that quickly. Could it have been some kind of other drug that was mixed with it?" Alice asked as she raised an eyebrow, her eyes still completely focused on Alan's face for any changes, anything that could be a sign that his mental was worsening, that was currently at the top of her mind.



"No… not another drug, so as the effects were worsening, something happened. The girl that was… my friend, she stood up and she was acting… weirdly, it was as if she wasn't herself anymore, like something… or rather someone was controlling a puppet, the movements were still too primitive for it to be her, and it wasn't like drunken or intoxicated walking, no it was almost exactly like a wooden puppet being moved around, stiff, not swaying." Alan finally said as his body shivered slightly as he remembered the scene.



As soon as the words left his mouth, Alice's eyes widened considerably as she finally stood up, she couldn't sit still after what she had just heard.



'That… someone possessing someone else, that's most certainly some kind of supernatural ability, the question is if it was a vampire with their gift or something else.' Alice thought almost instantly as her mind went towards all of the vampires that she knew about, all the ones that she had randomly seen inside her visions in the past and the ones that she had been told about from Carlisle… however no matter how hard she tried, she came out flat, there was no one with the ability to posses someone by giving them some kind of substance.



"Did… did you find out who it was?" Alice asked as she slowly sat back down after calming herself down for a moment, she couldn't act alarmed, that would only worsen Alan's own distress about the memory.



After a moment of silence, Alan nodded as he released a long winded sigh.



"Yeah… I found out who and I even… killed them later. Y'know when I was missing from school for a few days? That was when I was fighting against it. The thing that had possessed them was a sort of skin walker. It was this woman that had crawled inside of another man's body and was using that to spread the drugs that she could use to slowly infect people and then later posses them or use them as puppets to widen her net." Alan said.



The instant that the wo"ds left his mouth, Alice felt her own mouth slightly part in shock for what felt like the hundredth time. In all of her long life, she had never, not even once heard about skin walkers, not once.



'Skin… walker? Something like that, how come I've never once encountered any of them? Is it because I'm a vampire and they don't… try appearing before us because it would likely result in their deaths? Considering that Alan was able to eliminate them, than a fight with one of us would be a death sentence… but still, to just start becoming something else and then instantly have to be faced with that… that must have been terrifying.' Alice thought to herself as her eyes slowly softened ever further as she gazed at Alan who was still sitting on the edge of the bed, his hands had stopped shaking as badly and so had his pupils however it was clear by the simply pallor of his skin that he wasn't exactly fine completely yet.



"My friends however… didn't make it. By the time that I had realised what was happening and confronted the thing… it had already found my apartment, and the three of them were already dead bodies on the floor, the thing had killed them after finding out about me and the fact that I was changing and wasn't exactly human, it wanted my body, likely for its own use or maybe for experiments, I don't know. But yeah, the fight happened inside of my own apartment… and thats where this leads back to the attack by those quileute… could they have smelled it?" Alan asked as he slowly tiled his head to the right, his mind already calming itself down, because right now, he had reached a new thought that was more important to his own life than the emotions that had preceded it.



"Smelled it?" Alice blurted out unconsciously.



"Yeah, the blood, and my friends dead bodies. If they're truly like wolves than they must have a pretty good sense of smell… they could have noticed that I wasn't human somehow and also smelled the blood even though I cleaned it and then thought that I was responsible for the deaths of the three of them." Alan said finally as his expression was slowly but surely changing to one of realisation.

Alan's expression slowly changed to one of realisation as the thoughts went through his mind, now that he thought about it the possibility that the wolves had started attacking him only after smelling the aftermath of what had been his fight with Joanna, was indeed large.



Alice stopped for a moment as her own eyes slowly widened, the same realisation going through her own mind, and in comparison to Alan who was still not exactly sure, she had the information about what the shapeshifters of the Quilieute tribe could do.



She slowly nodded her head as she looked directly into his eyes.



"You… might just be correct about that… they do have an extremely enhanced sense of smell compared to a regular human and if they were investigating the dissapearance and they ended up at your house than… they likely think that the killer of the three teens… is you. Which would lead us to our current, situation." Alice muttered slowly, her mind almost working on overdrive as she connected the story that Alan had just told her to what could have happened, and all of the last points were indeed connection together, the likelihood of that being the case was indeed high.



The moment ended as silence took over for a moment, both of them deep in their own thoughts, Alan's were much more emotional whilst Alice's own thoughts were utterly cold emotionally, she was thinking of how she could end any and all threats that were directed towards Alan whilst Alan himself was thinking about how he could find any way to be able to clear his name, he didn't want to have enemies of an entire tribe of wolves chasing after him.



'Fucked… this is fucked, you are messing with me even in the fucking grave, you damned bitch.' Alan thought to himself as he thought back to the woman who had given him such a hard time, even leaving him with lasting effects mentally that he was only slowly starting to find out about.



"How… do we deal with this? Is there any way that you or someone else from your family could talk to them? I mean if you're both in the same territory than maybe you atleast have some basic understanding?" Alan asked carefully as he thought about it, in his own mind, this could be the best way to solve the situation however contrary to what Alan thought, the so called agreement between the Cullens and the Quileute wasn't exactly as firm as it had once been.



Alice looked at him as she finally left her thoughts before slowly shaking her head.



"No, it's not really possible, infact they may even think that we helped you in cleaning up the scene, our reputation inside of the Quileute really isn't that great. The only reason that we have a agreement in the first place is that a long time ago, Carlisle helped their ancestors with dealing with another one of our own kind. But that agreement was centuries ago now and it doesn't hold much power when they feel an instinctive danger coming from us. The stories that they tell their children have already made us out to be the big bad even though we have never truly done anything against them… so yeah… it really isn't possible to just use us to talk this out." Alice said finally as she released a long winded sigh.



It was at that moment as the two were talking that a knock was heard on the door of the room.



"Hello, It's, me, Carlisle. May I come in?" A voice on the other side of the door said, it was silky smooth and deep, clearly belonging to Carlisle who was likely standing right outside of the door.



'What? Him? Now? Did he hear?' Alan thought to himself as his mind instantly turned alarmed for a brief moment before he calmed himself down, he knew the moment that he told Alice that the rest of the Cullens would soon find out, if not about his secret then most definitely about what had happened to his home aswell as the fact that Alice had ousted the rest of them to him.



"He heard everything… right, I should have told you about that but I didn't remember at the moment. We vampires… have really good hearing… so the rest of the house heard everything we talked about aswell but you don't have to worry, no one is going to hurt you here. No one is allowed." Alice said almost instantly as soon as she saw the brief second where Alan's expression had hardened and his heart had started beating at higher speeds inside of his chest before he had forcibly calmed himself down.



"Right… yeah that would have been good to know before… but it's alright, not like they were'nt going to learn about this sooner or later, atleast this way I dont have to repeat my story over and over again." Alan muttered before looking at her and giving her a nod, a reply to her expectant eyes about what they should do about Carlisle.



Even now, Alice was going on with what Alan wanted to do, if he had shaken his head, she would not have allowed Carlisle to come inside, she would not have allowed anything that he did not want to happen. That, she could make sure of, atleast whilst she was around him.



"Yeah come in Carlisle. Door isn't locked." Alice said as she turned her head to gaze towards the door that opened almost as soon as her words had left her mouth.

The door opened slowly and inside came the blonde haired handsome man that looked like he was in his early thirties or late twenties at most and yet had lived longer than any human in existence and in history.



"My apologies for overhearing your conversation Alan, thought it's not a part that we can block out as vampires." Carlisle said softly slowly, his arms remained at his sides and he didn't make any sudden moves, maintaining a pose that was as unthreatening as possible.



Alan looked at the man standing before him at the door, he hadn't moved closer at all, and neither had he closed the door behind him, it was a textbook way of saying that he wasn't going to attack and he wasn't going to lock out his exits.



'Thought… considering their level and the fact that I can't even fully use observe on them… it doesn't really matter, if they wanted me dead at the moment… they likely could just kill me.' Alan thought to himself as he inwardly sighed whilst outwardly his expression slowly calmed down further until he almost looked relaxed in a way.



"It's… it's fine mister Carlisle. Besides, I'm sure that you would have learned about it sooner or later." Alan said as he shook his head at the man.



Carlisle waited for a moment before giving a nod of his head, the look in his eyes almost changing to something that resembled approval at how quickly Alan had managed to gather his thoughts and calm himself back down from an intrusion.



"Alright, with that aside. I believe we should all be talking about what to do about the Quileute and the fact that they attacked you. Misinformed or not, that doens't matter if they attack again, and not your house but rather you. Thats a fatal risk that we cannot overlook so whilst they are, good guys so to speak as you asked about them earlier, they are currently not someone that you should try negotiating with before atleast securing your own safety Alan." Carlisle said as he once more returned back to the main topic at hand as he slowly moved towards the side where a chair was next to Alice's desk and pulled it before turning it around and sitting down, facing the two of them. His own adoptive daughter and the boy who had been thrust inside of this world of theirs.



Alan nodded almost instantly, his expression turning more serious as he looked at Carlisle.



"You're right, my own safety comes first before anything else to me aswell. I am not someone thats naive enough to believe that this can be solved easily, and whilst they may be good guys acting on misinformation, that doesn't excuse them from what they did atleast not to me. Currently, they're hostile enemies and if they keep acting like it and they do not listen then I will treat them as such." Alan said, his voice slow so that he could carry his belief and intent through each and every word.



Alan wasn't exactly a regular human anymore, not just the obvious fact that he physically wasn't one anymore, but the fact that his mind had changed from the average person, through the harrowing experiences in real life aswell as the battles and experiences that he had inside of the systems dungeon.



Carlisle once more looked closely at Alan, waiting for any sign that he wasn't just putting up a front however he found none, Alan's eyes were steady and through them he could clearly see the will that he would follow up on his own words, whether he could achieve such a feat was still to be seen however the will to do so was clearly there.



This time the look of appreciation that appeared inside of Carlisle's own eyes couldn't be hidden as his lips slightly lifted to form what was the barest sign of a smile as he gave a nod of his head.



"Good, I was expecting to have you be more… naive, though you seem to be more mature than what I expected someone of your age to be. Usually its either revenge blindness or people who want the easy way out when it clearly isn't going to exist." Carlisle said in that soft tone of his, like a man that didn't need to speak any louder because he knew with confidence that whenever he spoke, people would listen.



"I'll take that as a compliment." Alan muttered in reply as he almost felt like releasing a chuckle before he stopped himself.



'Yeah… naiveness left me when I saw a slime seating human body parts and almost getting eaten myself multiple times in a row.' Alan thought to himself.



"Well then, the first thing we have to do or atleast try is indeed contacting the Quileutes and telling them about the situation and asking for a meeting in neutral grounds, likely at the border between our territories. We have to atleast try that, but the chances of that working are quite slim and there is the danger in it aswell simply because you would have to be there aswell to talk about yourself. With anything going wrong, a clash could happen almost instantly and currently we dont' really know if you have the capabilities to fend for yourself." Carlisle said as he released a soft hum whilst he was deeply in thought.



"What if that doesn't work out?" Alan asked as he raised an eyebrow, the current plan was as Carlisle had said only the start, and the chances of it working were quite slim, with him having no way to prove that he didn't kill them, he could bring out the corpses that were stored inside of his inventory however he didn't know if that would count as him showing the system, something he was not going to try in any way, the penalty was simply too large.

The answer however came almost instantly as Carlisle turned his gaze towards him once more and spoke.

"Then you'll have to leave Forks. Permanently. Likely for the rest of your life. We can manage to get you somewhere safe for a while, Alice will come with you and help you settle somewhere else." Carlisle said as his voice remained completely even without a slight change in his tone, it was clear that this wasn't a joke, it was completely serious.



As Carlisle saw it, these were the only two options that were currently available to Alan to act upon without him having to enter danger that could put him at lifes risk.



Alan froze as he looked at Carlisle, the words doing their rounds through his mind as they seemed to almost be playing on a constant loop inside of his mind.



'Leave Forks, forever… I knew that someday… I'd leave but to… to be forced out of my own childhood city… because of a misunderstanding, because of someone else, because someone is putting my life at risk and I can't do anything about it… This… I…. how do I even feel about this.' Alan thought to himself, his mind was almost completely overwhelmed with different kinds of emotions, there was even a slight bit of excitement at the fact that he would get to leave Forks but at the same time, that excitement was the least prevalent emotion that was currently exploding inside of his mind.



"Leave… forever. Is there, really no other choice? Can't we…" Alan said slowly as he almost mentioned fighting the quileute before he stopped himself, Carlisle had already given his help in a way, had agreed to talk with the Quileute aswell and help him plead his case and then even agreed to help get him settled somewhere else if the talks didn't go through as planned.



'I can't ask him to start a war over me staying in Forks, that's just dumb in the first place. The danger to myself and even to the Cullens and their secret just isn't worth it when I could simply leave.' Alan thought to himself as soon as he stopped his words as he had been speaking them and then shook his head.



"You're right, those two really seem to be the only options left." Alan muttered as he gave a nod of his head, his eyes slightly downcast as he gazed down at the expensive flooring of the room, polished wood that looked like it had just been manufactured, without a single scratch or speck of dust on it as if it had been meticulously cleaned every single day.



Carlisle and Alice stood silent for a moment as they gazed at eachother and then Carlisle's gaze turned towards Alan once more before he released what could only be called the softest sigh possible and gave a nod of his own head.



"You're taking this better than I expected. I'm glad. And thank you for understanding that this is as far as we can go to help you." Carlisle said softly before turning his gaze to look out of the windows once more at the now darkened sky.



"I'll get Esme to prepare a room for you, should be the room right next to this one or you can even use this considering Alice doesn't need to sleep. An attribute of vampires. Whichever you choose, It'll be ready. Do try to get sleep Alan, tomorrow is going to be a long day." Carlisle said once more before turning around and heading out of the room, the sound of his shoes clicking on the hard wooden floor being heard as he walked farther and farther away, leaving the room and leaving behind only the echo of that clacking sound on the flooring.



Alice hadn't spoken yet, not a single word, not until the echo faded and she walked carefully to the door and then slowly closed it before turning around to face Alan once more.



"You look… do you need anything?" Alice said softly, stopping herself before she could voice out the thought that Alan currently looked worse than she had ever seen him, like a cloud of dark depression was swirling right over his face. Blocking out every other emotion on his pale face.



Alan didn't reply for a few moments before shaking his head.



"No, I'm fine. I'm just processing the information." Alan said slowly, almost like he was talking to himself rather than the woman standing before him, like he was trying to convince himself of the new reality that he had once more found himself in.

Alan thought to himself, a slight edge of despair creeping inside of his mind as he thought about it, the more he did, the more he thought about it, the more the despair grew inside him.



'I've had the system, it's made me stronger… but even now, im nowhere near close to where I need to be. Nowhere close to actually matter against anything like Alice and likely even those damned wolves if Carlisle is taking them that seriously.' Alan thought before slowly releasing a long winded sigh of pure exhaustion and laying his back onto the bed, his feet still on the floor.

I agree completely. For all that it's good to get something every day, it's a bit disjointed and definitely takes you out of the story.

I'd honestly probably prefer if the author just posted a big 5x bigger chapter every week instead of a chapter a day.

I also think it'd probably be better for the story itself as they wouldn't need to keep inserting break points in every 1k words or so. Could just do it full on and let it flow properly.

I hope Alan still having Johan's body intact will serve to bridge relations a bit. He can probably disguise his inventory as part of his burgeoning magic abilities too.

I wonder what the vampires will think of such a jack of all trades type of power? It's not like they don't have a full X-Men thing going on, but it's usually only a thing after they turn into vampires (which now that I think about it resembles more the Inhumans than Mutants) and usually not as open ended as "magic". Alan is like their Wanda Maximoff, except even more egregious since he got this many powers without even needing to be a vampire.

The Vulturi will probably pop a venom boner at just the idea of how great his powers will become after being turned.

He's even immune to their Xavier's telepathy!
