Chapter 61 New
A split second later, the observe skill was used and the corresponding holographic screen appeared in his vision, floating there before him in the air, standing against the gruesome background.

[ Observe Skill has been used. ]

[ Analysing Opponent. ]

[ Opponent Analysis as completed. ]

[ Name: Crimson Slime ] [ Level 10 ]

[ Health Points: Infinite ]

[ Stamina Points: Infinite ]

[ Description: A carnivorous slime, a mutation of a green slime after it has first tasted blood and flesh, causing its genetic information to adapt and mutate it into it's current state. It releases an extremely foul rotting odour, has increased speed however consumption of flesh causes it to go into temporary hibernation. ]

[ Current status : Hibernating ]

[ Status Duration : 3 Minutes and thirteen seconds left. ]

Looking over at the information that had appeared before him, Alan felt himself slowly relax just slightly before his eyes hardened once more as his gaze turned towards the rest of the slimes, instantly using Observation on them, one after the other, it didn't take longer than ten seconds for him to have confirmed what he wanted.

'All of them are hibernating at different lengths of time, the one that just finished digestion has a ten minute timer whilst some of the others have been hibernating for a while more, the closest one to waking up… is that.' Alan thought as his gaze moved to the slime that was closest to the ground on his left side, taking the spear in his hand forwards and planting both feet hard onto the ground, widening his stance just slightly, he thrust forward with all the strength that he had.

The sound of the spear parting the air was heard as it was thrust towards the crimson slime, for a moment, it went well, until it finally hit the gelatinous body of the slime and that's when the first problem appeared.

'This damned thing.' Alan thought as the speed of the thrust was drastically increased, to the point where just before the tip of the spear reached the glass core inside of the monster, it fully stopped.

'Fuck, fuck, FUCK!' Alan thought as he tried to forcefully remove the spear and yet he couldn't even pull it out anymore, after a few more tries, he slowly relaxed his arms and just as he did so. He found his next discovery.

The spear… now that he wasn't trying to forcefully move it through the gelatinous slime so quickly, it was actually moving.

'Does it… meant that… I learned about this before… its a non-Newtonian fluid… or atleast some kind of variation of it, or something similar to it.' Alan thought as he slowly moved the spear tip further and further until it finally hit the glass core in the center of the slime body, at that point, Alan once more used all of his strength to push as much as he could.

The spear didn't move much, as the liquid substance instantly hardened however the force applied was enough that the spear tip that was currently touching the glass core, could shatter it.

*Shatter*

In an instant, the entire crimson slime body lost all shape as it fell down onto the ground before quickly transforming into red motes of light that floated up into the air before fully disappearing a few seconds later.

'Ten… ten times the rewards.' Alan thought to himself in shock before he slowly turned his gaze towards the rest of the slimes on the wall.

Now that he had atleast defeated one of them, the fear that had been coursing through his body quickly changed into pure anger and hatred, he had been terrified out of his wits, he had been shaking, and the thing died, just like that, just like any other slime.

'This… this stupid fucking mother fucker. It's the smell, and the sight of them… that was the problem, these fuckers never were some kind of insane monsters, they just had that effect on me because of the image they portrayed, their like those god damned animals that try to imitate posinous species. But now… now im going to farm you… im going to make you all into my own fodder and nourishment.' Alan thought to himself as he gripped his spear tighter before walking towards the next slime, the one that was now the closest to waking up from hibernation, he simply lifted the spear tip towards its body and slowly pushed it until the tip reached the glass core inside and then gave it a rough shake, causing it to shatter and the slime monster to drop down onto the ground instantly.

Slowly, Alan's expression changed, more and more as his lips curled up further and further, to the point where his tense expression fully changed into a wide toothy smile that almost appeared unhinged.

It didn't take long, not at all.

A mere minute and a half later, he had already defeated seven of the eight crimson slimes, that left the only one, one that he couldn't reach.

The slime had crawled up too far up the wall and thus couldn't be reached at all even with the long range of his spear.

'Though… if I was an archer or some other kind of long range projectile user… these things would have undoubtedly been a horror to fight, arrows likely wouldn't even pierce them because of how kinetic energy works inside their gelatine.' Alan thought to himself as he curiously used his mana perception skill.

He still had to wait for more than two minutes before the slime left hibernation after all.

[ Mana Perception has been activated. ]

As soon as the mana perception skill was used, the slimes mana coating came into his view, it was a deep dark red with some small sickly yellow spots here and there.

'Two colours? I've never seen that before… is it because of the mutation?' Alan thought to himself curiously as he watched the slime more closely and soon noticed the reason.

The yellow spots were vanishing one after the other as the timer to the completion of the hibernation counted down.

'The yellow spots are the mana of the thing that it's digesting… but a regular human doesn't have yellow mana… So what exactly was it digesting?' Alan thought curiously to himself as he watched the sickly yellow mana get slowly but surely converted into the slime's own dark crimson mana.

Chapter 62 New
'No real way to know… at least not for now, maybe some kind of possessed human? Or some kind of sickness… I'm unsure, I'll have to actually find one of these humans that it's digesting before they're… well being digested if I want to find out.' Alan thought to himself with a sigh as he took a couple steps back just in case the slime woke up abruptly and decided that the first thing it wanted to do was jump straight onto Alan's face.

As the image of the gelatine going over his face appeared, Alan's expression changed to one of pure disgust and apprehension as he realised that was one of the deadliest ways that one of these slimes could actually deal with him.

'With the fact that I can't use force on them or their bodies harden… It would take more than enough time for it to start devouring me, my eyes, eyelids, and even getting inside of my own body through my orifices and reach inside to get to soft tissue that it would likely digest in a flash.' Alan thought to himself as he shivered slightly at the thought of feeling the gelatinous and viscous substance slowly going down his throat whilst it ate him from the inside out.

It was at that moment however as he was remaining completely guarded that the timer finally came down to a zero, the slime was about to awaken from hibernation.

Alan wasn't anywhere near as scared as he was before about the slimes however that didn't mean that he wasn't guarded, no, he had never once let his guard down throughout the entire time when he was killing the seven other slimes, as much as he saw how easy it had been to defeat the slimes, he had only done so whilst they were hibernating and not whilst they had been awake.

[ Status: Hibernation ]

[ Status Duration: 3 Seconds. ]

[ Status Duration: 2 Seconds. ]

[ Status Duration: 1 Second. ]

[ Status: Clear. ]

As soon as the status changed from hibernation to clear, the slime that had been stuck high up on the ball moved, and it seemed to have immediately sensed Alan who was below it.

Without waiting for a single second, the thing launched its entire body towards the ground, right at where Alan was currently standing.

'I fucking knew it.' Alan thought as he smiled, he had already anticipated this and had planned right before the slime had fully gone out of hibernation.

Standing right where he was, thrust onto the ground was an object, more specifically a weapon, another combat spear that he had thrust into the ground.

Because this alley had a much faster deteriorating speed than the others, the ground had already gone from concrete down to gravel and thus it allowed him to stick the bottom of the spear inside of it.

The slimes, as he had tested beforehand on the green slimes, didn't exactly know the location of objects, they could sense humans and other living organisms somehow and yet they couldn't sense or see inanimate objects. And Alan was banking on that aspect to work on the crimson slimes.

Instantly jumping backwards, Alan saw the slime heading directly down towards the spear, where Alan had been just standing a single moment before, and as the slimes couldn't fly and neither could they glide through the air, it couldn't change it's direction mid jump.

*Thwack*

With the sound of iron hitting iron, the crimson slime landed on the tip of the spear, it didn't suffer any real damage as the spear couldn't pierce through it much because of the gelatin, however as it stopped its movement, the spear started going inside, slowly but surely until it reached the glass core.

Without someone adding a shock, it wouldn't be able to destroy it however, but Alan had already thought of that already, as a wide smile appeared on his face as he looked down at his hand.

There it was, a thin rope that was connected to the middle section of the spear.

Tightening the rope once more against his fist, Alan moved his arm back with his entire strength, pulling onto the spear with it and causing it to shake, just enough that the glass core inside of the Crimson slime was hit by it and thus promptly shattered.

*Shatter* *Shcluurrp*

With the sound of jelly losing form, the crimson slime fell down onto the ground, losing its previous viscosity and rigidity completely and practically turning into watery gooey liquid that quickly transformed and disintegrated into red motes of light that floated up into the air.

'Alright… with that, all eight of these fuckers are gone.' Alan thought to himself as he walked towards the spear that he had thrust onto the ground for his trap and then pulled it out before opening his system inventory and storing both the combat spear aswell as the rope he had used into it, his hand disappearing inside the holographic screen for a moment with the items in his hand before appearing once more in reality without them.

Closing the system inventory screen, Alan turned his gaze to look further inside the alley.

'The difference between the green slimes and this… it was around five levels, so, does that mean that each alley has that difference? I'll head out after I reach level fifteen inside of here and then go and check the next alley… hopefully… this will go faster now, if this theory is correct at least.' Alan thought to himself as he released a soft sigh and slowly started walking further and further into the darkness of the alley, further away from the main tokyo road and deeper into the alley that was quickly turning more cavelike than street-like.

'And hopefully… I'll be able to find out what exactly… is happening with these human body parts.' Alan thought as he disappeared into the darkness.

Chapter 63 New
It was tomorrow morning, the sunlight was filtered through the dark heavy clouds of Forks, the roads were starting to see cars moving around as people headed to their own workplaces, or to their school.

Driving towards Fork's Highschool inside a silver volvo, were the Cullen family, Alice Cullen, Emmet Cullen, Jasper Hale and Rosalie Hale.

The Cullens usually took two cars, a red jeep as well as the volvo however since Edward wasn't around, they didn't see the need to.

Inside the car, Alice was practically jumping on her seat, unable to hide her excitement for the day, meanwhile Jasper who was seated next to her on the car's backseats, looked like he was so very close to having a full blown migraine.

"Alice… can you calm down?" He asked softly with that southern drawl to his voice as he turned his head slightly towards her.

"Oh, right. Sorry Jazz, It's just that I'm totally going to make him spend more time with me today and then I'm gonna make him go shopping with me after school and maybe even like go to…" Alice said as she started practically rambling her mouth of at the hundreds of ideas that she had about her day, causing Jasper to raise his hand up, his palm facing her.

"Stop… we get it, I shouldn't have even said anything." Jasper muttered softly as he released a sigh and turned his head to gaze out of the window.

"It's weird though, I had this really bad premotion last night, it's why im a bit frantic right now. I didn't see any visions… but it's just a bad feeling. I'm sure its nothing." Alice muttered under her breath as her excitement slowly dwindled as she turned her own head to gaze out of the window on her side of the car.

"Bad premotion? You? That… let's just hope it's nothing." Jasper replied softly, he and the other two had heard Alice speak clearly even though her voice had been barely a murmur under her breath.

Around twenty minutes later, the four of them arrived before the parking lot as Emmet drove the car inside and parked it at their usual spot before turning the engine off as the four of them got out of the car.

Bella Swan seemed to have arrived before they had, as she could be seen standing by her orange truck on the other side of the highschool parking lot.

"That's Bella right? Edward's blood singer, she's early today." Emmet muttered as he gazed towards her, he wasn't one to usually care about anyone besides his own family and so he hadn't really bothered to even learn much about the girl, and Edward himself hadn't said much before he had decided to simply head to Alaska at the denali to deal with his own bloody urges.

This was the complete opposite of Alice who had rambled her mouth off so much that every single Cullen, Carlisle and Esme included already knew even the smell of Alan's hair, his exact eye colour, how apparently his voice was sent by the heavens themselves just for Alice and a lot more frankly quite useless information that they had been forced to hear because Alice couldn't simply shut her mouth for a single second.

"He's a bit late isn't he?" Alice muttered softly to herself as she looked around and yet she couldn't see Alan anywhere.

"Maybe he just overslept? You worry too much." Emmet said as he stretched his arms behind his back, making his already large figure look even more gigantic.

"I… don't know, maybe? I mean he did miss first class like two times just this past week. I'll stay here." Alice said in turn as she turned her gaze towards the entrance of the parking lot where the students who came on foot would enter from.

"You're seriously going to skip for a human?" Rosalie finally spoke up, her tone cold as ice as she narrowed her eyes towards Alice, her gaze seeming to almost pierce into her.

"Yes, I am. It's not like we are actually learning anything are we?" Alice replied instantly.

The two step sisters had been fighting and making comments about eachother ever since the day when Carlisle had given Alice the go about Alan, Rosalie didn't particularly hate Alan, she simply hated the fact that a human was getting involved into matters that they had no place in. Alice knew this, she knew that Rosalie hated her own existence and that Rosalie wished no one else had to ever suffer the same fate as she had.

Alice however had no such problems, to her, her existence as a vampire, as a cold one, was natural, as someone who didn't have the memories of her human self, being a 'Cold One' was simply her base state, her 'normal.' And so she didn't see the reason as to why Rosalie was so against her getting Alan entangled with their world.

Minutes passed and soon enough the bell signaling the start of the classes rang, as Jasper and Emmet gave Alice a nod of understanding before turning to head towards the front entrance of the highschool whilst Rosalie remained behind for a bit longer.

"Alice… you're making a mistake, you're going to put all of us in danger, all of us. Is a human… even if he's really special to you… worth losing the entire family? The Volturi always thought of us as a thorn to their side, they just need a single excuse…" Rosalie muttered softly towards Alice, her voice calmer and softer than the previous icy tone that she had used all week.

"I know… I know Rosalie, but to me… he's already the one for me, It's already been decided before I ever even met him. He… already holds the same importance as the rest of us." Alice replied, her own tone softer than before, as she tried to explain just what she felt, hoping for at least a little understanding from Rosalie.

Chapter 64 New
Soon after, Rosalie similarly walked away from her after exchanging another look before walking away towards the front doors of the Forks Highschool.

Alice remained alone as she watched the front gates of the highschool, waiting there, waiting for the one person who had been able to somehow bring colour into her world without even trying. Waiting for the one that had completely filled her thoughts over the past few days.

Minutes passed into an hour, the sky darkening further as the clouds rumbled overhead, light drops of rain starting to hit the pavement and yet Alan Walker was nowhere to be seen.

'Please… please.' Alice thought to herself as her desperation slowly started to show, her usually amber eyes having already darkened into a pitch black colour, leaving her eyes almost pupiless as the colours reached almost the same pitch black darkness, both the iris and the pupil inside the eyes.

More time passed and the rain started increasing in intesinity to a full blown downpour as Alice stood there, in the parking lot, she was entirely drenched in water by this point and yet she refused to move even a single inch.

Her body already cold, somehow becoming even colder, meanwhile her eyes that before had slightly showed her desperation, were now almost fully wide, it was like an animal that was on full alert, and yet the alert it was waiting for, wasn't coming.

'I… I can't take this anymore.' Alice thought as she turned and in an instant, her body became a blur as she vanished from the parking lot.

She knew that she shouldn't do this, she knew that it was likely that Alan was simply skipping school, that maybe he had simply overslept more than usual, she knew that she shouldn't head to someones house just for them being late an hour and a half and yet she couldn't stop herself.

Every instinct of hers was telling her, screaming at her that something wasn't quite right.

It didn't take her long, in fact it merely took two minutes to reach Alan's apartment, what took Alan almost half an hour, merely took her a few minutes, the speed was blinding, it was a level at which regular people and even most supernatural creatures could never hope to achieve.

She finally stopped as she arrived to stand before the apartment building and looked upwards, without hesitating even a second longer, she jumped as she quickly started climbing up the side of the building easily until she reached Alan's apartment floor and peered inside through the window.

Everything… looked normal, too normal. There was nothing wrong, the bed was made and no one was inside, the front door was also locked and the key wasn't inside, so it was clear that Alan had either left or hadn't come home, but everything was pointing that he had already left, and she currently didn't have anything to go off of that would make her believe otherwise.

'Was I over-reacting? Maybe he just went somewhere with those kids… damned, and I told him that he shouldn't go and do drugs… haah… I'll have to get Carlisle to get Charlie or someone and imprison them, I can't have them corrupting MY mate.' Alice thought to herself as she almost released a feral growl at the mere thought of someone else stealing 'her' time with Alan before she shook her head to clear her thoughts for a slight moment and then she jumped down towards the ground, from a multiple story high positon and onto the ground.

And yet she didn't make a single noise once she landed onto the ground, as if she was lighter than a feather, before she turned around and vanished in another blur of speed.

Meanwhile, inside of Alan's apartment… the scene that could be seen from outside the window abruptly changed as the clean apartment… vanished into one that looked almost completely ransacked and ran through.

The three corpses of Jeannie, Adrian and John could be seen on the floor, the smell of rot already permeating the air, meanwhile the black haired, blue eyed, beautiful man was sitting on Alan's bed, his gaze directed towards the window as a soft smile slowly appeared on his face.

"Alan… oh Alan, you just keep getting more and more fascinating, A vampire mate… how… utterly beautiful. It just makes me want you… so much more." The man muttered in that soft posh voice to himself before releasing a soft chuckle and closing his eyes and taking a deep breath of air.

"Aahh~... the smell, it's getting quite nice. A bit more and it'll be simply excuqisite… I wonder If you'll appreciate my… welcome home gift. Alan Walker." The man muttered to himself as the smile slowly started widening.

Hours kept passing, the downpour of rain stopping a few hours later, the sun having already reached its peak although as always it was completely hidden from sight by the dense clouds that were as always present on Fork's skyline.

Alice had gone back to the highschool and started attending her classes… and yet even as the second portion of classes started after the lunch period, even after the sun started to slowly descend, Alan… didn't arrive at all.

'That… I'll have to teach him a good lessson…. If only he wasn't so easily manipulated by pieces of…' Alice thought to herself obliviously whilst she was in her Art class, her hand holding the pencil so tightly that cracks had spread all over it, and yet she didn't notice at all.

*Crack* *Bang*

The pencil finally cracked enough that it exploded in her hand, sending small splinters and small chunks of wood flying, and yet she still… didn't even lift her head, whilst her classmates that were seated at desks closeby to hers turned their heads and looked at her with pure shock and confusion.

Alice was known to be… quite a weirdo if anyone had anything to say about her, but she wasn't known to be aggressive or an angry person at all, the current her left everyone befuddled, it was a sight none of them had ever seen on the pixie woman.

Chapter 65 New
Hours continued to pass, the moon rising up into the sky and then slowly falling back down again, It was now friday, and yet Alan Walker was nowhere to be seen. The man however waited, he waited patiently, having not once even moved away from his spot on the bed, that same smile ever present on his face as he simply gazed at the window out of the apartment room… and waited.

Alice meanwhile had already gone back to the Cullen mansion, and as the next came came, she once more arrived at the Fork's highschool early in the morning, and then she waited… once more, she waited by the parking lot, the first class hour passing, the second and third quickly following and yet she refused to move from her position at the front of the parking lot.

Waiting for that familiar figure to walk through the front gates of the school… and yet it never came.

Finally, lunch period arrived, and Rosalie Hale, Jasper Hale and Emmet Cullen, walked towards her.

"Alice… you should go home, we'll help you find him later, even get Carlisle to check and maybe file a police report if no one has seen him. I asked around, and no one's seen the three that he hung around with either." Jasper Hale said softly with that southern voice as he softly placed a palm on her shoulder, he was using his gift to the maximum of his capabilities and yet he could barely hold her back.

He could sense it, Alice… Alice was really close to practically going feral. It was an emotional range that he had never seen from the woman, something he couldn't even believe until now that she was capable of feeling.

Alice didn't turn her head, her gaze still fixed onto the road outside the school parking lot, her body stiff as rock and cold as ice.

"Alice… You can't be here with how you are at the moment… you could put humans at danger." Rosalie said softly as she walked closer to her, even she, who would have usually been glad that Alan wasn't coming around, knew that she couldn't push, not when her sister looked ready enough to rip someone apart with her bare hands, and the fact that she could actually do it, didn't help the matter at hand at all.

Finally, at her voice, Alice's eyes narrowed slightly before she nodded and started walking towards the road and out of the school grounds, she didn't vanish in a blur of speed, she didn't take the car, she simply walked out, at normal human speeds.

The three others were left there standing watching her walk away, knowing that they had to find a solution, before Alice decided to take matters truly into her own hands, and that could cause potentially catastrophic outcomes. None of them knew what an enraged and utterly feral Alice would be capable of, and none of them wanted to find out or let the matter get that far.

"Call Carlisle, right now." Emmet muttered under his breath as he turned towards the other two.

Jasper nodded in an instant as he took his phone out of his pocket and brought it to his ear.

*Ring* * Ring* * Ring*

The phone rang three times before Carlisle picked it up, he was in his office at the Forks Hospital, checking over some medical documents when he had recieved the call.

"Alice, she's not well. Her 'mate' Alan Walker hasn't been to school yesterday or today, and neither have his friends." Jasper said simply, he didn't need to explain anything further than that, Carlisle would understand the gravity of the matter instantly, they weren't ones to usually call each other unless it was an extreme circumstance, and currently… it seemed like one.

Meanwhile inside a completely different dimension, a certain boy could be seen sitting on a large rock inside what appeared to be some kind of cave, he was almost entirely covered in leather gear, besides his head, on which he had a pair of black nightvision goggles and a gas mask.

He seemed to be staring at the air infront of him, if someone was able to see his eyes inside the night vision goggles they would notice them swervering side to side… as if he was reading something on the air itself.

All around him, the cavernous area was covered in what looked like yellow and purple viscous slimy liquid that was splattered all over the floor and walls.

'Finally… not much time left now… just a bit more.' Alan thought to himself as he read a certain line in his status menu, his expression under the gas mask slowly changing into a wide almost unhinged grin of pure excitement.

'I hope… that this is enough… I could go all the way to fifty… but with this much, with atleast level thirty… I should be able to survive an encounter long enough that… I'll be able to atleast get back inside the dungeon. Otherwise… if the gap is truly that large… twenty more levels… won't really effect it much, and the truth is… that I'll have to leave this dungeon if I want to join the next one whenever its unlocked.' Alan thought to himself as he released a soft sigh, his excitement dampening slightly as he rose up from his seated position and gazed at the splatters of the remains of the slimes that he had killed which were quickly disintegrating into small motes of light and floating up into the air and vanishing out of existence.

'These guys… were quite annoying to fight.' Alan thought as he remembered the battles that he had done for the past few days inside of the dungeon. Just as he had suspected, every five levels, he could go and enter a different alley without it being too dangerous, and every alley either had a larger number of the same type of slimes as the alley before it, or it had a smaller quantity of slimes but a stronger more mutated version.

Chapter 66 New
A few hours earlier…

Walking out of a dark alley and back onto the main tokyo street, Alan looked around before releasing a soft sigh of pure exhaustion as he started heading down the street.

'Groups of red slimes, a minimum of five of them each time, and not all of them were hibernating… not hard… just had to be on guard constantly… damned, I really wish that I could sleep.' Alan thought to himself as he walked further down the street.

Ever since entering the system dungeon, he hadn't slept a single time and he was quite sure that it had been over twenty four hours already and yet he was still stuck in here, still fighting constantly to the point where he felt like he was some kind of low wage slave inside of a black company in a third world country.

'No… they likely sleep atleast a little bit just so they can survive… fuck… I can't complain, can't complain… I already complain a lot… god damn it, I have a reason to complain.' Alan thought to himself as he released a long tired sigh and kept walking until he finally arrived to stand before another alley.

This was the supposed… level twenty alley, or atleast he thought it was, he still wasn't sure that his information and theory about the alley's was completely correct however considering the past four alley's had followed the same logic, he assumed that It wouldn't change.

'Just a new slime… it's just a new slime that likely has different attributes and is also much more annoying to fight… can't they atleast be something…. Nope, yeah let's just always stick to slimes, I'll take slimes over zombies or dragons or whatever the fuck else.' Alan though as he entered the alley, his hand frimly gripping the spear at his side as he walked further and further into the darkness.

Just like in the other alleys, he quickly noticed that the rate of deterioration had increased multiple fold, it didn't even take more than a few meters for the entire walls to start getting cracked and have moss all over them, as if the buildings had stood there for hundreds of years already.

Walking further and further inside, the scenery changing quickly from an urban back alley into what could only be called a small passage through two broken stone walls that were utterly covered in all kinds of plants that he didn't recognise at all and had never seen in person in the real world.

'A yellow… flower?' He thought as he turned his head slightly and gazed at the yellow almost shining flower next to him, located slightly above his head on the left wall.

It looked like some kind of rose or at least a variation of it.

Alan lifted his hand slowly towards the flower before stopping as he brought his hand back down to his side.

'Yeah… that's how every dumb protagonist dies in a horror movie, it's a damn flower that's shining and I was just about to touch it. Intelligence ten my ass.' He thought before using his observation skill.

[ Name: Screaming Yellow Rose. ]

[ Age: 132 Years and 3 Months Old. ]

[ Description: It is said these flowers once crowned wedding ceremonies, symbols of union and joy. But after a nameless catastrophe, an untold time ago, something changed, something seeped into their petals and their roots, changing them. They drank in the souls of the newlyweds, binding them within them. Now, at intervals no one can predict and caused by sometimes a mere touch, the flowers tremble and release the muffled, agonized screams of those condemned to remain trapped inside them forever. ]

*Gulp*

'Aaanndd… yeah, I am not touchin the creepy flowers.' Alan thought almost instantly as soon as he read the description that the system had given them.

'Though… I wonder just what that catastrophe was? What happened that caused these flowers to mutate… is it just a vague description about them, something more like a myth, that doesn't actually mean anything or are there really any souls inside them. And the description is written as if this is a myth or a legend… and in that case, who created it? What group of people believed in these stories and myths?' He thought as he pondered and yet he couldn't come up with any kind of explanation and as such, he shook his head, clearing his thoughts once more as he tried to remain as vigilant as possible.

Turning his head forwards once more, he continued walking down the alley, the amount of flowers slowly but surely increasing every couple of meters as he went inside deeper and deeper.

And that's when he saw it, or rather he heard it before he saw it.

A shining yellow slime that was stuck on the wall further down the alley, on the right side of the wall, currently attempting to digest one of the special shining flowers inside of its stomach.

That wasn't the only thing however, it seemed the flowers were as said in the description, screaming, the muffled screaming sounds coming out of them even as they were being digested inside the slime's body were loud and shrill, and utterly impossibly horrid, it was as if a human was being tortured right before him, as if someone was taking a peeler and skinning a humans skin off, atleast that's what Alan thought, he had never once in his life heard any screams that sounded as agonising and terrifyingly horrid as the one he was currently hearing.

Raising his one free arm that wasn't holding the spear, he brought it to his ear, as he felt a small headache already forming simply from the screaming that was occurring infront of him.

Thankfully, it didn't seem to last long as the flower was fully digested by the shining yellow slime and the harrowing screams came to an end.

Chapter 67 New
'Observe' Alan thought instantly as he quickly used his skill as he gazed at the shining yellow slime that was now slowly sliding down the wall and onto the gravelly ground.

[ Target has been successfully analysed. ]

[ Name: Slime ( Yellow Rose Mutation ) ]

[ Health Points: Infinite ]

[ Stamina Points: Infinite ]

[ Description: A green slime that has mutated into it's current state after continuous consumption of 'Screaming Yellow Rose'. The mutation is highly unstable. ]

'An unstable mutation? What does that even mean? Like is it just going to explode randomly?' Alan thought to himself in confusion as he slowly lifted his spear higher and slowly went into position as he started walking slowly towards the shining yellow monstrosity infront of him.

Thankfully because of the neon brightness of the slime, the black glass core at it's center was clearly visible, something that he had sometimes struggled to find whilst battling the dark crimson slimes especially before he had gotten his night vision goggles.

*Fsshh*

Thrusting his spear forwards, towards the yellow slime at as much speed as he could, Alan narrowed his eyes in pure concentration, he didn't know if these slimes would have some kind of special characteristic like the crimson slimes, but he expected it atleast and this he was waiting for any surprises.

And indeed, just as he had thought, the yellow slimes did have something special about them… just like their food, the slimes themselves screamed.

"Aaaahhhhh Saveee meee!" The slime screamed, its voice disturbingly human, disturbingly harrow and agonising sounding, and more importantly at such a loud volume and high pitch that it didnt take more than a few seconds before both of Alan's ears were bleeding, however he didn't stop, he couldn't stop the spear thrust now, or he knew that it would all be over, he wouldn't be able to aim and get in a good enough position again with this screaming going on, and he would end up inside the damned things belly, that much he was sure of.

*Shatter*

With the clear sound of glass shattering, the slime lost form instantly and then screaming stopped just as abruptly as the dark alost pitch black alley returned to almost absolute silence once more.

The only sound being heard was the deep breaths that Alan was taking aswell as the small plinking sound of the blood coming out of his ears dropping down in droplets to the ground.

'Fuck… fuck.' Alan thought as his body swayed side to side before he fell onto his ass, his entire equilibrum system was gone, it had been severely damaged alongside his ears and thus he had lost his footing completley, the spear falling to the ground next to the sickly yellow goo that was slowly but surely disintegrating into yellow particles of light that floated up in the air.

'Need… to get up and get out of here.' Alan thought as panic started creeping it's head up from the depths of his mind.

Putting his hands onto the ground, he tried lifting himself up, and he managed to… for a few split seconds before vertigo hit him as he fell down onto the ground once more.

Gritting his teeth hard enough that they almost cracked, Alan felt like releasing a scream of pure rage, and yet he couldn't even do that, he couldn't risk attracting anything else to his current position, not with how he currently was.

'It damaged my equilibrium system… in the ear… fuck… and I'm not even that close to a level up.' Alan thought to himself as he slowly crawled to one side of the alley and put his back against the wall as he closed his eyes for a brief moment before taking one long deep breath, holding it in for a few moments before releasing it out once more, as slowly as he could.

The process continued for almost an entire minute as he slowly but surely managed his own panic and cleared his mind, it was one of the most important things to do, panic was even more dangerous in these kinds of situations than the wound itself sometimes was. If he made a mistake, he could potentially just bring himself an even earlier death.

It was at that moment as he fully calmed himself down, that an Idea hit him, an Idea about using something that he had almost completely forgotten even existed, it was something that the system had offered him and yet he had considered it practically useless.

But now… now, it could be the most useful thing in his entire arsenal.

Snapping his eyes open, Alan didn't hesitate even for a single second as he opened the shop.

'System shop' He thought and instantly after, a blue holographic system screen appeared right before his eyes, floating there before him on thin air.

[ System Shop ] [ Level 2 ]

[ Equipment. ]

[ Items ]

[ Potions. ]

'God damned, potions.' Alan thought as he instantly thought of opening the potion category and the system, reading his thoughts instantly responded, if not even faster than he had voiced out his own thought inside his mind.

And there it was, the only potion that he actually needed, the only one that he now realised if it worked as he thought… would be extremely useful atleast in times like these.

[ Low Quality Potion of Healing ] [ Level 2 ] [ 10 Silver Coins ] [ Buy ]

[ Description : Heals 5% of the User's total Health pool ]

'Five percent of my total healthpool, if I take my entire body as one hundred percent, then my vital spots obviously are the ones that take the most percentages, with the brain and heart taking the most percentage compared to the rest… however the equilibrium system whilst extremely useful… it isn't vital… that should mean that…' Alan thought as he lifted his hand slowly and pressed the buy button with his index finger.

A single moment later, green motes of light appeared out of the holographic screen and started gathering in his hand.

Chapter 68 New
As the green motes of light gathered in his hand, slowly converging upon one another as an object was formed.

Finally, a few seconds later after the motes of light had dissipated, the item sat on the palm of his hand, its style closely resembled a potion flask from some kind of roleplaying game, it had a slim thin tube top that expanded at the bottom to hold all the liquid.

The liquid inside was almost fully transparent with an extremely thin red sheen to it that was barely visible, although currently Alan had no way of checking the colour, he had his night vision goggles on and everything appeared in a green hue to him.

Taking the bottle with both hands, he quickly grabbed the cork that was at the top and took it out, throwing it away as he brought the potion to his mouth and quickly chucked it, swallowing as fast as he could, the liquid had appeared to be like water however it was quite a bit more viscous than it seemed, as he struggled for a moment before finally downing it all in one go.

"Haaaah…"

Alan released a long winded breath as he felt it almost instantly, the effects took place as soon as he had lowered his hand as a slow stinging sensation started at his ear and then quickly spread all over his body, scratches that he hadn't even known he had gotten were being healed at the same time as the damage to his ear was being repaired.

In a mere three seconds, the stinging pain stopped as he slowly raised himself from his seated position near the wall and shook his head lightly and yet he maintained complete balance, the vertigo was gone, his equilibrium was back.

Slowly his expression changed as a grin appeared on his face.

"Guess I was too harsh on the potions huh? Ten silver for one? That's a damn steal." Alan said to himself as he turned to face further down the alley, where he knew many more of the shining yellow slimes would be waiting for him, before he did however… he opened his system shop once more as he quickly located a pair of ear plugs and bought them for three silver and put them on.

'That's much better, though I'll lose the ability to detect the slimes from afar as well as I did previously… It's much better than having my entire equilibrium system broken, that's basically a death sentence in the middle of a fight.' Alan thought as he started walking further down the road.

That had been hours ago. After having continued his hunt of the shining slimes, he had moved on to another alley and now he was here after having defeated a combination of the shining yellow slimes and the newest variation of purple slime.

Getting up from his seated position on the rock, he slowly started moving further down the road until he finally was met with the sight of a group of two yellow slimes aswell as a singular purple slime.

Alan didn't hesitate even for a single moment as he ran directly towards the purple slime, the yellow slimes he had found out were mostly supportive types, and on their own, if someone had already dealt with the sound attack, were frankly quite useless, the mutation had given them a special ability however it had also slowed them down, to the point that without the ability they were almost easier to deal with than the green slimes.

The purple slime meanwhile… that was another deal entirely.

'Observe' Alan thought as he gazed at the purple blob a dozen meters away from him.

[ Health Points: Infinite. ]

[ Stamina Points: Infinite. ]

[ Description: The Amethyst Slime, a green slime that has mutated heavily only managed to reach thirty five percent of its true evolution. It is said that they're absorption and digestion could potentially even destroy steel. ]

In comparison to the green, crimson and yellow slimes, the amethyst slime was on another level of power completely and thankfully it seemed that the system also agreed with it as he had yet to meet a single group of purple, he only every found them in groups of one with other colours surrounding them, almost as if it was acting in a leader position.

'Thirty five percent of its true evolution… does that mean that by the end… I'll be fighting… a perfectly evolved slime? Food for later thoughts.' Alan thought as he jumped over the yellow slime that had gotten infront of him before doing a complete frontflip in the air and gathering as much force as he could and slamming the steel spear straight towards the purple slime's midsection.

*Claangg!*

A loud clanging sound rang, as if steel with steel were hitting together and for a moment the spear stopped completely, it seemed that it would be unable to slice through the slime's gelatinous body, atleast for a moment.

In the very next second, bubbles started appearing where the spear had hit as the viscous gelatine like substance that the slime was made of parted and the spear was able to push through it until it met with the glass core at the center of its body, and just like any of the other slimes, without any real force, it shattered in an instant.

*Shatter*

With the loud cracking sound, the Amethyst slime lost its form completely as it started disintegrating into purple motes of light.

Turning his head towards the two remaining yellow slimes, Alan didn't hesitate for a single second as he brought out two small steel daggers and threw them, both of them somehow hitting their targets perfectly and shattering both of their cores at the same time.

'I don't need perception… If i just get lucky.' Alan thought as a smile slowly appeared on his face.

Releasing a slow breath, Alan walked closer to the wall and slid against it until he was sitting back down as he opened his status menu, the holographic screen appearing before him as it floated there in the air.

'Not bad… thought im curious… when I reached a certain level… the experience points needed for the levels after it stopped increasing? Is there a reason to it? I mean… It's not like im complaining… it's just… weird.' Alan thought to himself curiously as he looked over at his level, he had already decided that he would leave after reaching level thirty, whilst his status screen hadn't changed much, or atleast it looked like it hadn't… if he had to guess, he could defeat atleast five of his past selves at the same time if he fought them currently.

'The increase in strength… it's a lot more sizeable than I thought it would be, maybe because my other stats like intelligence and Charisma and Luck are stats that I don't really notice, but the strength… its quantifiable, and so is the perception and endurance aswell as agility.' Alan thought as he remembered to his will, something that he related to endurance, at first he had thought that endurance simply made him more durable and whilst it did indeed seem to do that, that wasn't what he was using it mostly for.

'The will to endure, its not just durability, its the endurance of the mind to keep pushing forwards… I'm not sure, I would have been able to keep on going if I was still the old me before the system.' He thought before releasing a sigh as he looked at the two stats he had upgraded.

Because he had stopped using the glasses and was instead in need of night vision goggles, he had felt the drastic drop to perception and thus had decided that an increase to atleast four perception would be better off than an increase to six strength atleast for the moment.

'Still, getting my strength to match my endurance and agility is still the priority. When that happens… I'll truly have a balanced body, that should let me bring out the most efficiency out of each stat, I can already notice it, how much better my speed and agility is working simply by raising strength.' He thought to himself before he turned and continued walking down the alley, he was close now, it wouldn't be long before he managed to finish his task of leveling up, he needed less than ten of the purple slimes and he would be able to reach the next level and then ten more after that would guarantee him the level thirty that he was after.

'Thankfully, I found out their weakness… though it did take me a while to, salt, just as i had theoriesed when i first entered this damned dungeon, the slimes have some qualities that are similar to slugs, salt dehidrates their body really quickly, it doesn't work at all on the viscous crimson slimes however and the efficiency against yellow ones is just average, but when used on the amethyst slime, it seems to be much more effective than normal, maybe because they're faster, they're more… liquidy in a way?' Alan thought as he scratched the back of his head with his hand before finally noticing another group of slimes in the distance.

A few minutes later, and a dozen slimes after.

[ Ding! ]

[ Ding! ]

Opening his status menu, and expecting to simply put his normal points in, Alan's eyes widened as he saw… he wasn't sure what it even was but he could guess.

[ Status Menu ]

[ Name: Alan Walker ]

[ Age: 18 ]

[ Race: Human 88% / Elf 12% ]

[ Gender: Male ]

[ Level 29 ] [ Experience Points: 0 / 2.5 Million. ] [ Evolution ] [ Yes / No ]

Right next to his level, a new line of text had appeared on the blue holographic screen, the words were simple, did he want to evolve or did he not want to evolve.

When he pressed Yes, the experience required shot up from five hundred thousand all the way to two and a half million experience points required. He could similarly chose no, and the experience required would lower back down.

'Is… just what would evolution do to me? I get what it is, and that I'll likely… become something that's even less of a human most likely but the main question is whether it will have any side effects to my daily life.' Alan thought as he rubbed the back of his head and released a sigh, the choice was infront of him however he wasn't sure wether he should do it now or wether he should wait until later on.

'I could… save it? I mean… I could gather the experience points and then simply not get the last part of the experience needed and wait for this entire mess that I'm in to just pass first. But then again… I need as much strength as I can get before fighting that bastard.' Alan thought as he came to a conundrum.

He had already changed once, physically and visually, the change was small but he was sure that his facial features had changed slightly and the most noticeable change that he currently possessed was the tipped ears on the sides of his head.

Chapter 70 New
'What if they grown longer and even more tipped, or my hair becomes blonde like in those elf movies or my eyes change colour, how am I going to explain that to other people. Would I just have to leave Forks instantly?'

Shaking his head slightly, Alan released a deep long sigh before he pressed the yes button and got up, it wasn't worth thinking about it at the moment, what would it matter, why would any of those things even matter if he ended up dying before that time even came, it wouldn't matter at all if he was just some possessed doll.

'I'm thinking about what I should do as if I'm not already in a fucked position. What I should do now, is simple… kill that fucking bastard or escape and never let 'it' find me again.' Alan thought finally as his expression under the gas mask and night vision goggles changed to an expression that could only be called pure hatred for the man, or thing that he had seen possess his friends.

'Don't worry guys… I'm coming back to help you guys. Just wait a bit longer.'

With that, Alan started walking deeper into the Alley once more, his figure vanishing into the darkness as he walked further and further away, into the depths of the tokyo alley that had practically transformed into a luscious cave.

Minutes turned into hours, as the sky started brightening up once more on a saturday morning in Forks.

No one had seen Alan in almost three entire days at this point. Not his classmates, not his neighbours and not the Cullen's either.

Alice was stuck inside the Cullen mansion, with Esme Cullen being on constant watch of her, whilst the rest of the vampire coven had gone out periodically to search however none of them had found a single clue as to where the boy could be.

It was as if he had vanished into thin air out of the blue, no one had seen him leave and no one had seen him come back either.

At one point, Carlisle had almost decided to head to the border with the Quileute tribe and ask them for help in searching however he had decided against it, the Quileute still had a deep hatred for the Cullens and their kind, they would most likely be mocked and if Alan did ever come back, he could become a target to the tribe's younger members simply because they would want to get back at the Cullens. Carlisle had seen how the hatred had been passed down to the next generation of the tribe, generation after generation and he knew that the younger generation likely didn't have the same restraint or maturity yet as the rest of them.

It was at that moment, at exactly five am in the morning, that the air before Alan's apartment shimmered and in the very next instant… someone was there, as if they had teleported, one moment there was no one there and the next, they were there.

The person was clearly a man, with short black healthy hair that almost seemed to shine, skin that was utterly pale and yet it didn't seem sickly or like a corpse, it looked healthy, with a face that seemed to be carved out of marble and crafted by a master sculptor. Their ears were different aswell, with them beig thinner and slightly longer than human ears, the upper end of them sharp instead of the rounded ears that humans had.

And as they opened their eyes, They were a mix of colours, the iris was undoubtedly brown around the pupil however the edges of it had clear flakes of green that made them seem in a way mystical in nature.

Taking a long drawn out breath slowly and then releasing it just as slow, the man… Alan Walker, finally lifted his head fully and gazed at his apartment window from the street bellow where he was standing.

He was alive, and he was finally back… just not exactly the same person, but the soul inside, that was undoubtedly the same.

'It feels good… really good.' Alan thought to himself as his lips slowly curled up just slightly at the ends, giving him what appeared to be a gentle almost serene like expression, a complete difference to his pure hatred and anger merely hours ago and yet if one were to look inside of him… the emotions hadn't changed at all, neither had his thoughts, it was simply that the way those thoughts and emotions were being conveyed to the outside world had changed in a drastic manner.

As soon as his gaze had gone to his window, Alan felt it, someone was there, the image that he could see through his window, it looked… wrong, it looked just slightly wrong, it wasn't something that he would have noticed before, or if he hadn't been on guard however because of his recent changes and the fact that he was currently as alert as he could be.

He did notice it. It was as if the air was shimmering slightly just slightly around the image inside.

'He's at my apartment, or he left some kind of trap. Either one of those.' Alan thought to himself as he slowly started walking and entered inside the apartment building before looking up the stairs.

In the very next instant, his entire body was coated in small motes of light that seemed to come out of thin air and the motes slowly gathered together in clumps over his frame and out of them, brown leather plates formed one by one until his entire body was covered in leather armor from head to his toes, and then the motes of light gathered around his face, forming a black gas mask that completley covered the lower half of his face and his nose.

Finally, Alan lifted his right arm into the air and opened his palm and in an instant, the motes of light gathered once more and this time formed a long broadsword.

'This should work better in a tighter space like this.' Alan thought to himself before he started walking up the stairs, one step after the other.

Chapter 71 New
Slowly walking up the stairs, one step at a time, Alan had his guard up the entire way, his eyes were fixed onto the the top of the staircase all time time as he rose up the stories until he finally arrived at his floor.

And there it was, at the end of the hallway, his own run down apartment room, merely a few feet away from him.

'Alright… let's just… do this.' Alan thought to himself as he walked forwards and took out his key before unlocking the door.

*Jiggle* *Clank*

With a sound, the door to his apartment unlocked as he slowly pushed it open.

*Eeiiiinz*

The old wooden door made a sound that was heard loudly in the silence of the hallway as it slowly was pushed open further and further, revealing the sight inside.

The first thing that caught Alan's eyes… was the utter ruin of his room, his bed looked like it had been smashed to pieces, the walls were covered… in liquid that he didn't want to think about and there… sitting at his desk was the man he had seen for just a brief second days before, right when he had been teleporting to the dungeon.

"Yo, been a while Alan." The man said with a smile, his voice soft and easy going as he raised one of his hands in a mock salute. One of his legs was over the other as he was laid back in Alan's desk chair, leaning back, utterly at ease.

Alan however, wasn't looking at him, his gaze was stuck onto a different sight, on something else that had filled the entire room, on a smell that had hit him as soon as he had opened the door.

Laid down onto the floor of his apartment were three bodies, bodies of people he knew, of people he had talked to, been friends with just a few days ago.

The three bodies were… a far sight from who he had known, the cheeks had sunken in, the eyes looked clouded, there were slight greenish patches on their skin, their stomachs were slightly bloated because of the build up of gases inside of their bodies. And dozens of flies were around their mouth, nose and eyes, where they had already laid their eggs inside.

For a brief moment, Alan felt like he wanted to vomit, to vomit out everything inside of his stomach.

The sight was gruesome, seeing his three friends, Jeannie, the girl who had obviously liked him, who had tried to make conversation with him and who had tried to be as welcoming as she could, Adrian and John who had accepted to help him when he had needed it most, on the very day that he had gotten the damned system even if they hadn't known it. All three of them were now dead, they were just corpses, meat that was rotting on the floor of his apartment. And he could do nothing about it.

"I see… I was too late." Alan muttered softly, the first words that had left his mouth since he had opened the apartment door.

He took a few steps inside as he kept his gaze onto the dead bodies before slowly, he lifted his head higher and higher until he was looking directly into the man's vivid blue eyes with his own.

"I believe I deserve to atleast know your name don't I?" Alan asked softly, as if he was talking with someone he had just met at the mall, not someone that was currently in his apartment, having clearly killed all three of his friends and left them to rot.

"Ah, you're right ofcourse, where are my manner. My apologies, my name is… well the current one that I use is Johan. It's a pleasure to meet you Alan Walker." The man, Johan, said as the corners of his lips started twitching, it was clear that the man found the sight amusing, that he was barely holding himself back from erupting into laughter.

Alan didn't respond, he simply looked at him, his eyes not twitching even once, utterly still for a few moments before his mouth finally opened.

"Tell me, Johan…. Why are you so overconfident?" Alan asked, his voice steady, however his eyes that had been steady until now, weren't looking directly at the man anymore, they were looking at something that was floating right next to the man's head, something that only he could see.

'Level… fourty four, he's above me… but practically none of his detail are actually hidden.' Alan thought to himself as he released a hum whilst he waited for the reply.

"Well… I wouldn't say that I'm overconfident, I'm just… confident in my own abilities. And… do I really need to be on guard? You've got some pretty interesting abilities Alan, I've always wanted to know more about this world, there's so many things that I do not know, and you, you're a mystery to me still. A mystery… that I would be glad to get to… investigate further." Johan said with a small soft chuckle and he or rather she rose up to her feet.

'The gender clearly says that she's a woman… but she looks like a man… did she posses the current body that she's using? A sort of more complete possession where she actually is using it as her own body instead of a doll like she did with the… with those three.' Alan thought as he slowly walked past the three bodies and arrived before Johan.

And in the next instant, without a single drop of hesitation, the broadsword parted the air as Alan swung it with full force directly towards Johan, there hadn't been a single instant where he had hesitated or shown any kind of indication that he would be attacking.

Here's the first chapter of the day.

Chapter 72 New
The sword gleamed as it sclied through the air directly towards Johan's throat, and for a moment, it seemed like it would hit, that is until the very next second when she simply took a single step back and avoided the sword's path by a hair.

"Woah, calm down, there's no need for us to be attacking eachother now is there?" Johan asked with a smile as she raised her hands up, her palms facing him as her mouth that had been twitching until now, finally curled up into a smile.

"No reason? Do you want me to name them?" Alan asked curiously as he tilted his head, he was calm, atleast on the surface, however his heart? It felt like it was going to beat out of his own chest, he was almost sure that the thing before him could hear it from how loudly it was beating.

"Ah… are you angry because I… well did that to those things?" Johan asked with that same smile as her eyes moved past Alan and towards the dead rotting bodies on the floor.

"Maybe? Just slightly. So Johan… magic huh? You wouldn't mind telling me more about it would you?" Alan said as he jumped backwards and created more distance in between them.

"Ah, but ofcourse, If you tell me your dear secrets, I'll also help you learn more about my own, isn't that only fair Alan?" Johan said as she tilted her head and started walking closer to him, intending to close the distance that he had just created.

"Sure… so, I've got a certain friend Johan, I think… she would rather like to meet you. What do you say that we go and meet up with her, that way… I'll feel safer and we can exchange secrets… to your hearts desire." Alan said as he kept his sword up and took a single step back with one foot and positioned the other on the front, entering a half stance, clearly ready to either fight or run at any time.

'Just… If i could get Alice or any of the cullens… this won't be much of a problem, they're much higher level than this thing…' Alan thought to himself however those thoughts were unfortunately interrupted almost instantly by the next words that left Johan's mouth.

"Oh… are you talking about that Vampire girl? Short hair, short body, amber eyes?" Johan asked amusedly as she stopped walking, remaining barely three feet away from Alan.

'Vampire? So that's what Alice is… isn't… that just as bad? Fuck, Fuckkk. Haah… atleast… it's a good idea that I didn't call her and hesitated, last thing I need to deal with right now is a damned blood sucking monster on top of this thing before me.' Alan thought as he released an inward sigh inside his mind before his eyes went up slightly to look directly into those electric blue eyes.

"Yeah, but… I think you wouldn't allow that would you? Afterall… you're weaker." Alan said slowly, his voice calm and steady even as inwardly he was in a complete crisis mode.

"Mhm… how interesting… you don't even know what I am exactly and yet you said that with utter confidence, that could either mean that you are arrogant and frankly a dumbass… or that you have some kind of way to evaluate my strength, and because of that teleportation… I'm rather inclined to believe that it's the latter." Johan said as her smile widened further and further until it slowly started to look more unhinged than normal.

It was at that very moment that something else occurred, Alan who had been standing next to John's corpse on the ground… felt something grab his ankle.

Looking down, his eyes slowly widening, Alan saw it, John… or rather the corpse that remained of what John once had been, was grasping his ankle, those white creamy foggy eyes looking directly at him.

"Ah… you really are a piece of shit miss Johan." Alan said as he cursed under his breath.

Johan who had been standing calmly with that now unhinged smile froze for a moment as she brought her hand to her chin.

"And you also know that I'm actually female… how interesting… you will surely be a great subject Alan, we will have soo… much fun together. It will be quite… pleasurable… for me that is." Johan muttered as in an instant, she raised her hand her palm facing Alan.

To the real world, it seemed like she was doing nothing, there was nothing there but empty air in front of her hand.

However to Alan who had his mana perception activated ever since he had entered inside the room, the sight was clear as day, the sickly yellow and greenish aura that was all over Johans body was gathering and forming some kind of black ball at the center of her palm.

In the next instant, he felt John grip his other ankle as well whilst the ball in the center of Johan's palm cracked open slowly and revealed what looked like an illusionary snake that was floating in the air.

'I don't know what the hell that is… but it's bad. Really fucking bad.' Alan thought as he moved his sight from the palm to the corpse currently holding his ankles.

"I wonder Alan… will you be able to attack knowing that… he's your friend?" Johan asked curiously as she raised an eyebrow at Alan.

"Friend? Yeah… he… no, It was my friend, but my friend… is gone." Alan muttered as he steel broadsword cut through the air before slicing clean through the rotting hands that were holding him, separating the hands from the arms as he jumped back and the brought his other hand to his waist where he had tied a small brown ball that he took out and in an instant slammed towards Johan.

Johan didn't hesitate as she dodged, however the ball hadn't been an attack, as soon as it hit the wall behind Johan, it exploded and covered the entire room in thick grey smoke.

Chapter 73 New
Johan didn't hesitate even for a slight second as she jumped to the side, however the ball hadn't been an attack on her at all.

As the ball hit the wall on the other side of the room, it exploded with a bang instantly, and in a matter of a few quick seconds, the entire room was covered in thick grey smoke, the smell instantly overpowering the rot.

'Equipment Change.' Alan thought inwardly as in an instant the nightvision goggles on his head disintegrated into small motes of light that floated away and a different set of motes converged together at their previous spot, instantly forming a different kind of equipment.

A pair of heat vision goggles. He had already tried this strategy before coming back, the smoke bomb released heat for a brief moment however the heat of the smoke from the initial explosion would quickly disperse, whilst he would still be able to use the goggles to check the position of his enemy.

Seeing the clear red outline of Johan, Alan didn't hesitate as he lifted his arm and threw three black combat daggers directly towards her before he looked down.

The three dead bodies of his friends had started generating heat once more and through the heat vision, he could see that inside them, a small ball like thing was at the center of their chest and was spreading some kind of current through their entire bodies that was caught on the heat vision of his goggles.

'Whatever that is, I'm willing to bet it's how this bastard is making them move even as their dead.' Alan thought to himself as he took a few steps forwards and grabbed the broadsword with two hands before plunging it down and into the first body instantly, before repeating the process quickly with the other two, all of this in less than five seconds.

"Oh? Taking out the threats already? How… logical of you Alan, human's usually are much more emotional, being able to take out your friends so easily. Truly, impressive." Johan said, her tone of voice as soft and unhurried as always as Alan lifted his head and saw her raise her hand and throw back all three daggers towards him, she had previously simply dodged and whilst Alan was taking out the zombie like corpses, had gathered them and now thrown them back towards him.

The daggers were invisible in his heat vision as they didn't carry any kind of heat, however the motion of her hand, clearly was a throwing motion. And she was throwing them directly towards him.

'How can she see through the smoke?' Alan thought to himself as he released a grunt of annoyance before dodging towards the side, ending up right next to his bed.

He took the bed cover with a swishing sound and instantly raised it up, in the very next instant, he felt the impact of three daggers hit it.

"Oh? You anticipated that the first throw was a feint?" Johan mused outloud.

'If she can see me precisely, there was a chance that she had something even better than heat vision, she would know that I was using heat vision to locate her, if I was in her position, I would also have launched a feint.' Alan thought as he rushed forwards and lifted his sword up high and then swung it, but he didn't swing it normally.

The sword left his grip as it rotated in the air, flying towards Johan whilst Alan lowered his body into a full body slide in the middle of the apartment towards her.

'Equip, Combat Axe.' Alan thought as a small hand axe materialised on his palm and without a single instant of hesitation, he swung. And for the first time in the entire encounter, he felt it, the slight resistance of flesh before it was cleaved right off.

"Fuck."

He heard it, Johan's voice as she cursed and instantly jumped to the side.

The slide continued until he hit the wall with his entire body, getting disoriented for a moment before getting back up onto his feet as quickly as he could.

"You… you're really one handsy little rat aren't you Alan?" Johan muttered, the soft posh voice gaining a somewhat colder colour, and in the very next instant, Alan's eyes widened.

The door of the apartment was slammed open and the entire air pressure inside the apartment changed as a gust of wind came out seemingly out of nowhere, and in the very next second, like a hurracane, the smoke was pushed out of the apartment, together with the dead bodies and whatever furniture was loose.

Alan had thankfully instantly grabbed onto his desk that was bolted to the wall and had managed to keep himself from getting caught up or that could have spelled really bad consequences for him.

'If I got caught up in that… Damned.' He thought as he instantly unequipped his heat vision goggles as he stared directly at Johan once more.

She was by his bed now, their positions having been reversed, she had managed to dodge the broadsword that had been flying towards her and was now stuck on the ground but she hadn't managed to dodge the axe strike directly to her ankle.

Looking down at her foot, he saw it, half of her ankle was gone, a clear part had been cut off and it was now bleeding profusely. Her foot looking like it was holding on for deal life, almost dangling under her.

'Her mobility is alteast seventy percent gone.' Alan thought to himself as he looked back up to her face. It was the face of a man, a handsome almost model like man, and before, it had looked soft, polished, and almost kind, but now? Now it more resembled some kind of unhinged maniac, the rage at having been hurt had clearly hit Johan right in his ego.

Her eyes were widened and almost crazed, his lips pursed so hard that it almost looked like her own teeth.

"What's wrong? Did the rat bite your ankles? Or did the cat bite your tongue?" Alan asked and in the very next instant, he lifted his arm and made a throwing motion, in the middle of it, another axe materialised in his hand and was instantly thrown towards Johan.

Chapter 74 New
"You piece of…" She muttered as she lifted her hand and unleashed another pulse of wind, throwing the axe ofcourse and stopping its kinetic force almost completely.

'System, Observe on that.' Alan thought as he tried something new, what if he could use his observation skill on the wind magic skill thing that Johan was using.

[ Observation has been activated! ]

[ Analysis is in progress! ]

[ Analysis Complete! ]

[ Name: Basic Wind Gust. ]

[ Type: Wind Elemental Skill. ]

[ Ding! ]

[ User has observed Magic for the first time. ]

[ Observation has leveled up to level 2 ]

[ Does User wish to further analyse the skill? ]

[ Yes ] [ No ]

'Yes' Alan thought almost instantly, before he was forced to dodge to the side as a strong wind blast was launched towards his position.

"Are you just going to keep using those weak wind gusts over and over? Don't have anything more special?" Alan said, his tone intentionally amused, and almost teasing and belitteling in a way that was carefully crafted.

He didn't want Johan to fully go insane with rage, that was a risk that he wasn't willing to take, he simply needed her to be emotional enough that she would lose at least a part of her rational thinking.

"You… you really…" Johan muttered as she surged forwards, this time running directly towards Alan.

The apartment was small in the first place, she would reach him almost instantly.

[ Enhanced Analysis has been activated! ]

[ Enhanced Analysis target: Basic Wind Gust. ]

[ Analysis Progress: 1% ] [ ETA: 3 Minutes. ]

'An ETA? That's a first.' Alan thought as he put his hand forward, one slight further away from his body than the other in a sort of pose and yet he wasn't holding anything.

Atleast he wasn't until a dozen motes of light appeared out of thin air and converged into his hand and then extended, forming a complete steel combat spear in his hand, the tip directly facing Johan who had been rushing towards him.

Her eyes widened, but she couldn't stop, she had already committed too much to the motion, but she also wasn't an opponent that would be defeated so easily.

Her eyes narrowed an in an instant, she lifted her left arm up to the side and launched a wind gust, using all her power, she couldn't control it's output as she had to release it instantly.

For a mere second, her was in the air, about to get speared right through her chest and in the next second, a powerful wind gust of the same level as the one that had cleared the entire room erupted out of her hand, instantly breaking her wrist and sending her body flying sideways and into the wall.

Alan's eyes narrowed, he didn't rush after her, he felt something wrong, it was a sort of instinct, defeating her shouldn't be this easy, atleast he didn't think so, if it was then she had basically defeated herself without him doing anything. And Alan had a lot of thoughts about Johan, about this mysterious person that had done so much and already caused him more harm than perhaps anyone else in his life had, but one thing that he didnt think was that she was a dumbass.

And in the very next instant, his theory was proved correct as the woman in a man's body lifted herself up slowly and then the hands went towards the mouth and slowly started pulling, and pulling, until the jaw was broken and yet the hands didn't stop as the simply pulled even more.

The sight was grotesque, it was like watching… it was like watching some horror movie where the monster had gone inside someones body and now it was forcefully coming out, without any consent or care to the host.

'No… its not 'like', it's exactly what this shit is.' Alan thought in pure disgust as he removed one hand from the spear and in an instant equipped another set of daggers and threw three of them, one after the other directly towards her.

The daggers hit the body with bloody thunk sounds and yet the hands and Johan ignored them completely as the process continued and then he saw it.

From the inside of Johan's mouth, a head, another human head was appearing as it slowly but surely was pushing itself up as another set of hands launched themselves up from inside the throat and grabbed the mouth and pulled even further together with the other set of hands, until finally the head popped through and then the rest of the body.

The previous body was already completely ruined, looking like a skin mask, or some kind of hollow husk.

'This…crazy fucking bitch.' Alan thought as he took a step back, his gaze going to the door for a moment before turning to focus back onto the horror before him.

The door was completely blocked with furniture, and there was no way that he would be able to remove them without risk of being hit by something on his back.

"I didn't expect that I'd have to lose my current body whilst fighting against you, I really didn't y'know? Now what can I even do, I guess… You'll have to compensate me for the damages won't you darling?" The woman asked, as she stood before Alan, utterly and completely naked, she was small, barely five foot tall, with a lithe body and skin that looked completely unblemished without a single mark on it, as if she was just a newborn baby that had just been given birth to.

"I really don't think that I want to be your darling, how about you just lie flat on your stomach and let me put a knife through your brain, I'd like that to be the compensation that I give you, Honey." Alan said as his pupils started shrinking slightly, the palms of his hands starting to sweat.

Chapter 75 New
Before it had just been his heart that had been beating as though it wanted to break out of his chest, now his entire body was sweating, he was practically shivering and trembling as he stood before the beautiful monstrosity in front of him.

"Just… what the fuck are you?" Alan asked, his voice trembling for a mere second at the start before turning steady once more.

"What am I?... I'm just a pretty girlie." Johan said and in the very next instant she launched herself towards Alan.

Alan didn't move, and neither did he lift his hands to protect himself, he simply smiled at her.

"I thought you'd be weaker, guess I'll just have to head off, come see me sometimes in Europe honey~!" Alan said with a smile as his entire body turned into motes of light and he vanished into thin air.

Johan finally reached the position where he had been as hundreds of illusionary purple snaked launched through the air from her palm, though they hit nothing, absolutely nothing at all. Alan was gone.

She stopped, standing there for a moment before she turned her head to the ceiling and the shriek that left her mouth was utterly chilling to any human ears that would have heard it, thankfully none did, the only other human ears around were the ones of the three dead bodies bundled at the door with all the other furniture.

"You… You little fucking piece of shit, You sniveling rat, I'm going to catch you, europe? I'll come to fucking europe, you can go to the ends of the fucking earth and I'll still catch you." Johan said to herself as she turned her body towards the door and took a step forwards.

"I'll take these friends of yours, I'll reanimate them again, and I'll fucking torutre them, I'll turn them into such grotesuque fucking monsters that you'll never be able to sleep again without seeing their faces haunting you." Johan muttered to herself, her completely black eyes narrowing as she tried to think of all the worst possible ways that she could torture Alan, both in soul and body.

It was in that very moment however as she was thinking of her torture methods, of how she would catch Alan and defeat him, and break him apart, and how easily she would do it, that she felt the air pressure behind her change just slightly.

Turning her face away in slight surprise, Johan saw it. Alan was right behind her, holding a sword, and it was alread.

*Sssllchchhkk*

With the sound of flesh being sliced apart, the gleaming sharp one handed sword that Alan had used both hands on, cleaved right through the middle of Johans head, slicing her skull and brain and getting stuck in the middle of her face.

"You…" That was the last word that left her mouth as her body lost balance and titled sideways before falling down onto the ground with a wet slump, the floor instantly getting dyed red from the blood that quickly spread from the half sliced in half head.

Alan stood there, huffing and puffing, his heart feeling like it wouldn't just thrust out of his chest but would rather explode at any moment. His arms shaking violently before he finally couldn't hold back anymore as he bent over and started vomiting out all over the floor.

*Hawckkkk*

'Fuck… fuck, I just sliced someones head in half. Fuck.' Alan thought as his pupils had fully dilated, the sight of her still stuck in his head, the adrenaline of the fight had made it that he could push through until now, however now that the battle was over, it was overwhelming.

All that he could feel was the give of flesh, at how his sword had met resistance at first before cleaving straight through and then getting stuck once more.

And then it was the previous memories, the sight of the black haired woman that was now dead on the floor crawling out of a human body. The sight of those lithe hands coming out of someones throat, the sight of the entire debacle.

And then his eyes wandered to the exit of the apartment, to the door, where his three friends could still be found, their bodies already decomposing, the memory of having to cut off the hands… the memory of desecrating their bodies, of having to thrust a sword into their chests.

His mind wandered even further, back to a conversation in the cafeteria, Jeannie looking right at him as she was leaned forwards so much so that their foreheads were almost touching, a sly smile on her face.

"Hey Alan, do you think I'm pretty?" She had asked, it hadn't been special in some kind of supernatural way, it had just been a regular teenage thing, just something a girl asked a boy that she liked, and yet it had stuck with him, and now as he looked at her dead body, at those clouded over milky eyes starting back at him.

Alan felt his first tears fall, at first they were slow, and then they kept on falling more and more.

'I only met them a few days ago, they don't matter, they don't matter at all, they were bad people, bullies, druggies, they were….' Alan thought inwardly to himself, trying to frantically be as logical as he could, but humans, humans weren't logical creatures in times like this, and whilst he had changed, he had changed so much from who he had once been. Inside, the core part of him, that part, had yet to fade, he was still, completely human in mind.

"I'm sorry… I'm sorry, If only… I was faster. If only… Im sorry." He muttered, his voice choked, he couldn't say anything more.

Deep inside him, he knew that he wasn't at fault, there was no thing that he could have done that would have averted their deaths, even if he hadn't ever interacted with them, even if he had never become their friend… this would have been their fate.

'Fate…. Fate…. Damned Fate.'

Chapter 76 New
'Fate… Fate… Damned Fate.' He thought as his hands curled tightly into fists, before his knees hit the bloody floor, unable to hold him up any more as the adrenaline finally fully and completely left his body.

Leaving him feeling utterly empty in the process.

It was at that moment that a notification rang out inside his head. It was quickly followed by a dozen more as the air before him was almost instantly filled with holographic screens.

The system as he had noticed, usually didn't show itself whilst he was in combat or fighting, it was in a way something he was thankful for, if he got his vision caught up by a blue holographic screen and got distracted, it could be the cause of his death.

Lifting his head slightly, he looked up at the holographic screens floating before him on the air.

[ Ding! ]

Reading the notification and the text on the holographic screens, Alan's eyes were caught on a single line of text.

'Skin walker, Johanna.' He thought to himself as his mind went back to the holographic observation screen that he had previously seen.

'Enhanced human… did the observation merely tell me, about the skin she was using? Not… what she actually was? Did she somehow manage to fake or trick the system? It.. it could be possible, she was afterall higher level than me, so whilst I could see most of her information… it wasn't exactly correct.' Alan thought before releasing a sigh as he slowly got back up onto his feet.

He didn't have much time to waste, even as he felt completely ruined both physically and emotionally and mentally, he couldn't stop right now, not when he currently had four dead bodies in his apartment and he was quite sure that the sound generated from all the furniture hitting around and the sound of him and Johanna fighting had reached someone.

'Let's just hope that they havn't called the police yet.' Alan thought as he slowly crouched down to the dead body closest to him, Johanna.

His finger touched her cheek for a moment before he flinched, his hand trembling, almost half expecting for the dead body to move and grab his hand.

*Gulp*

'She's… she's dead. It's fine.' Alan thought as he slowly carefully touched her bloodied face once more and then activated the system, in an instant her body disintegrated into small motes of light and was absorbed into the inventory holographic screen that he had pulled up and was currently floating in the air before him.

In less than five seconds, the entire body had turned into small white motes of light that were floating in the air, and just two seconds more, the motes had already disappeared entirely aswell after having entered the holographic screen.

In seven seconds, he had already perfect disposed of one body.

His mind, instantly went to places that he didn't want it to go to.

'Isn't…. Isn't this the perfect way to… get rid of a body?' Alan thought to himself, slightly shivering a moment later at having even thought of something like that in the first place, it wasn't a hole of thought that he wanted to enter, he knew that with how much he was changing, with how much of an impact his life had gotten after he had received the system… he couldn't start thinking about things like that, he had to keep himself in check.

'It… at the current point where I'm at… It really isn't a far stretch to see how I could… just become an insane bastard like her. Power that's beyond human limits, ways to perfectly hide my crimes… it… it really… fuck. It's really unfair isn't it…' Alan thought before releasing a soft sigh as he got up and walked towards the exit, the door where all the furniture of his apartment had been thrown to and crouched down.

There they were, his three… old friends, he couldn't exactly call them his friends anymore, afterall they were gone.

This time… his hands were trembling even worse than before as he closed his eyes for a moment and finally made contact with the first body.

'Store.' He thought and then moved his hand to the second and third body, quickly thinking of the command inside his mind without opening his eyes at all.

Even after he did, he didn't open his eyes at all, instead he slowly lifted himself up until he was fully standing up and then took a step back, before counting down from ten. When he hit zero, he finally opened his eyes, and the bodies were gone, fully gone. Now it was just broken furniture and a ruined room, with admittedly quite a lot of blood on the center of the room's floor.

'It's done… I… I won.' Alan thought as he walked towards desk and sat down onto it. It was one of the only pieces of furniture that was bolted to the walls and had survived.

Lifting his head up, he closed his eyes once more, and for the first time in days. He felt relieved, finally, he didn't have to be on constant guard.

After days of fighting, of surviving, he had finally come out on top. He had survived, he had won, he was most importantly alive. Everything else… everything else could wait.

His body slowly leaned back as he fell asleep right then and there, sitting on his desk.

Chapter 77 New
Time passed swiftly and unknowingly to Alan, two more days had passed, he had slept for almost close to fourty eight hours without even noticing it as he slowly woke up.

His entire body felt cramped as he tried to slowly move and yawn from his sitting position on the desk.

His body had leaned halfway to the right and his spine was currently showing him exactly what after effects that position had on him.

'Ah fuck… this hurts, hurts like a damn bitch.' Alan thought to himself as he felt his bones and joints release almost concerningly loud popping sounds as he slowly lifted himself up and looked around.

The room was still quite the mess, however the blood seemed to have dired and already been sucked up by the wooden flooring, leaving the room almost spotless in a way… in terms of dead bodies and human remains that is, but in the furniture way? It was still one of the biggest colossal messes that he had ever seen.

Putting his hand in his pocket, Alan pulled out his phone as he released a second yawn, flipping open the flip phone, his eyes almost half closed, mid yawn, atleast until those half lidded eyes landed onto the date displayed on the phone as he instantly started coughing, caught by surprise.

'What.. what the fuck.' Alan thought to himself in pure shock as he read the date again, looking at it more closely but it was just as he had seen the first time, the date wasn't moving. It was monday, the next week, he had slept through the entire weekend, on the damned desk.

Looking down at his body, he even felt like he hadn't suffered enough, like the pain and stiffness that he had gotten from his sleeping position wasn't even close to what he had expected to feel from sleeping in such a position for two days.

'Is this another perk of being… that?' Alan thought as his mind wandered back to his status menu and the evolution that had occurred on that day before he shook his head as he slowly walked to the ruin that was the entrance of the apartment and started touching each piece of furniture before thinking a single word.

'Store.'

As soon as he did, the item that he was touching would disintegrate into small motes of light that would get collected by the inventory holographic screen and then appear as stored inside his inventory.

The mess that should have taken hours, didn't even take half an hour, Alan proceeded to store each and every item before simply walking to where they should have been placed at, lifting his palm towards it and un-storing the item from the inventory.

He simply needed to think about the direction that he wanted the item to be at when it came out of the inventory and as long as it was withing a certain range from his body, he could take it out and precisely place it down.

Thirty minutes later since he had started cleaning the mess that had become of his apartment, it was done. Everything was spotless besides the deep dark red patch of dried blood in the middle of the flooring.

'That… I don't know how to get rid of that. Can't exactly store dried blood.' Alan thought before he released a long tired sigh of exasperation, there was nothing that he could do about it for now, he likely could try and find some way by searching on the internet by using the local bookstore computers but that would have to wait for later.

Taking his backpack that he had stored inside his inventory out, Alan walked to his bathroom and quickly watered his morning hair down before styling it as freely as he could with one hand and taking a large black beanie and using it to cover most of his head and his ears before turning around to head out of the apartment.

The changes this time were much more clearly visible, especially the ears, they had only been a little pointed before, but at this point, they were so clearly noticeable that it would most certainly be weird, no one would truly suspect that he wasn't human… besides other things that weren't human. Even they might not have suspected it if that had not known Alan before the transformation had taken place, but because they knew what he looked like normally, this would be a really really hard lie to sell.

'I look… like me, but like a me that took really really good care of himself, like phenomenal care of myself… and if worst comes to worse, I'll say that i somehow won a free lottary for some good makeup or some bullshit like that, or maybe plastic surgery and shit.' Alan thought to himself though that was something that he would rather prefer to leave as the last option, if he straight out said that he was using makeup to cover his real changes, his social status would most certainly plummet.

And it would plummet hard, straight into the ground, and that, Alan knew was something closer to a fact than a guess.

'It's not like I have much of a social status anyways but still… I'd prefer to just be the regular unknown kid rather than the weirdo of the town. Fuck, no one would have even cared if this was a bigger town or city, but because no one in forks can just mind their own damned buisness… haahh…. Fuck I hate this place.' Alan thought to himself as he released a sigh and walked down the stairway and arrived down at the street level before he turned and started heading towards the direction of Forks Highschool.

Alan Walker was finally… coming back.

____________________

Here's the first chapter.

Chapter 78 New
Heading down the street, Alan made sure to keep his head low, the world around him… felt different in a way.

He was no longer stumbling like he had at the beginning of the last week, he was no longer blind, he had ditched the round prescription glasses entirely, he had no need for them any more, his hair no longer had that thin quality that it previously had, even though only a few strands were slipping out from his beanie, they were utterly dark, and clearly looked healthy.

His skin wasn't the pale and sometimes slight yellow that it had been before, as if he was sick, no now it was pale but it looked healthy, it looked like the skin of someone who had a twelve step morning routine that he most definitely did not do.

His steps themselves were different, it wasn't the fact that he wasn't swaying or stumbling anymore, it was that his steps were somewhat similar to those of a cat, making almost no sound as he walked down the sidewalk towards his destination.

It didn't take him long to arrive before the Forks Highschool parking lot.

The students were already fully gathered there, standing by their cars, chatting with their friends in groups as usual, the entire parking lot filled with either the sound of cars coming inside or ones that were still turned on although they were parked and the bustling sound of students talking, laughing and joking with eachother.

Alan's eyes swept through the entire parking lot before they ended up stuck at a peculiar sight that he almost couldn't believe.

Edward Cullen… was right next to Bella Swan, by her orange truck and the two seemed to be in a conversation together but contrary to the previous encounter that they had in the biology class, Edward Cullen was smiling this soft gentle smile as he looked at Bella… and although he couldn't hear the exact words from this far away, even with his increased senses, he could clearly tell that the man was joking, teasing and even doing what Alan believed to be an attempt at befriending the weird new girl.

Shaking his head slowly, Alan release a soft chuckle to himself, so much had changed in just a week, that even this surprise wasn't even on the top five anymore, it was nowhere close. Alan moved his eyes away from the sight of the duo, focusing on something else.

He didn't particularly care about either Edward or Bella, to him, as long as they didn't interfere or try to mess with him, he would just as similarly try not to mess or even talk to them, infact Alan would be happy if they never even made eye contact with him for the rest of his life.

'Less headaches for me.' Alan thought amusedly to himself before he stopped, his entire body freezing as he sensed one particular gaze locked onto him, it was a gaze that seemed to pierce straight through him and almost look directly into his soul. Slowly turning his body towards the direction that he felt the intense almost deadly feeling, his eyes locked onto the source of the feeling.

Standing at the edge of the parking lot, next to three other people, was a small woman, with a pixie like haircut and a lithe small body, her hair was dark as midnight and her eyes were almost the exact same colour as her hair, there was no difference between her iris colour and her pupil, making it look like her eyes were entirely dark, like a black abyss that if someoen started at for too long they would be sucked into.

Alice Cullen.

It was Alice Cullen and she looked like she wanted to run to Alan right at that very moment and grab his head and rip it right off of his shoulders in an instant.

Jasper Hale was already next to her, his expression showing a deep frown as he held her biceps, almost as if he was holding her back before she truly launched herself across the entire parking lot.

Slowly raising his hand, Alan gave a small confused wave as he tilted his head.

'Did… something happen whilst I was gone? Did I do something to fuck up my relationship with the vampire? Why the hell does she look even worse than Edward did on that day when sitting next to Bella?' Alan thought to himself as he felt a small bead of sweat form above his brow as he slowly carefully took a step towards her before stopping.

Emmet Cullen and Rosalie Hale had walked closer and were now standing next to Alice aswell, whispering something that Alan couldn't possibly hear before Rosalie raised her head and her eyes made contact with Alan's.

Those dark amber eyes seemed to look at Alan with so much pure icy disdain that Alan had to stop walking and instead take a step back before turning his head away and quickly starting to walk towards the front of the school, entering inside as quickly as he could.

'That… instinctual feeling of fear, it's still there, though it's a bit more muted after the evolution… it's undoubtably still present, does that mean that these vampires are still higher up in the hierarchy as a species? That they're still considered my predators even now? Fuck… now that I think about it, even when I was facing Johanna, I wasn't getting this type of fear. I was scared of Johanna because of the sight of her, of what she did, of what she was doing, I wasn't scared of Johanna instinctually, not even once really. This… these guys really are a lot more dangerous aren't they?' Alan thought to himself as his eyes wandered to the side where a floating holographic screen was.

It was the observation result that he had gained after just now using the observe skill on the Cullens.

And just like he had expected, there wasn't a single new piece of information on it, just like back then, it was entirely filled with question marks.

Chapter 79 New
Heading down the hallways of Forks Highschool, Alan felt like he was being stared at by practically the entire student body, back when he had first gained the system, he had noticed a little staring, it had been what he thought a small consequence of the increased charisma, but then again, the system stats were confusing, and he still wasn't entirely used to them, Strength and other physical stats were basic and he could clearly tell their effects on him whilst intelligence, charisma and Luck were much more confusing.

If he had to say for himself… he could both notice the effects and not at the same time, when he first thought of the situations that had happened to him, he considered them as bad luck, as an unlucky fate that had been thrust forwards at him but if he looked at them from a different more overseeing perspective, was it truly so?

He learned how to deal with grief whilst not being completly ruined by it because the people he lost were ones that he had just gotten attached to.

He got into a dangerous situation that made it that he had to push himself far past what he thought were his limits, until he was forced to grow as both a person and in pure combat strength and intelligence.

He got put into a situation and in the end, the enemy wasn't someone that was impossible to beat, infact, it was almost perfect in a way, it was an opponent that he had to struggle against, an opponent that he had to grow to beat, they weren't unbeatable… they were like a rock that was just big enough that he had to learn how to jump over it.

'Damned it all… is this my luck? If I looked at it from this perspective… its really good, but if i look at it from my own perspective… I'd have rather just not gone through all that pain and suffering at all.' Alan thought to himself before he released a long winded sigh of pure exhaustion that he seemed to almost be releasing constantly these days, to him, it felt like his entire life had become a sort of play for basic entertainment.

'Weak to strong bullshit, if I was in a movie trope, I would have wanted to atleast be the comedic relief overpowered character.' Alan thought to himself amusedly as he walked down the hallway and finally reached his first classroom of the day as he headed inside.

His mind wandering over to his other stat, the one that he had now been feeling a lot more especially after his evolution.

Charisma.

Before he had… changed, it had been there, he had felt its effect, especially with how easily he had connected with the three bullies and made friends with them, or with how easily he had seemed to become decent friends with Alice Cullen, even though that relationship most certainly was on hold after what he had just seen play out in the parking lot.

But now, now it felt different than before, it was… well he knew how he looked now, he had seen himself in the mirror afterall, if before the changes were more based on the feelings that he incited on others, now they were based on looks aswell and not just emotional intelligence or empathy and other mental aspects of what could be called 'Charisma.'

And then there was the final confusing status, Intelligence, the more he used it, the more he learned just exactly what had changed with him, it wasn't per say, pure genius, he couldn't create or invent some sci-fi bullshit as he hoped he would be able to, it was more of an ability that let him grow faster, a sort of potential, in a way, it could better be called talent, it felt like he could learn things at a much faster rate than he could before.

He had gone from someone with basically zero combat capabilities, a mere week ago, into someone that he was sure could go toe to toe with almost any military trained human in the world and that was something he hadn't particularly noticed, he hadn't actually been fighting against humans afterall, but now that he thought about it, he could, he truly could.

His instincts, his reaction speed, his physical powers aswell as the power that he had gained after the fight with Johanna, if he combined everything together and the fact that he could learn about an opponent simply by using observe? It was quite the deadly combination when facing a human.

'Still… I'd likely die pretty quickly if I faced anyone with a fire arm.' Alan thought to himself as he walked to his desk inside the classroom and sat on his chair before turning to look out of the window.

It was at that moment that his thoughts wandered back to his entire status and the change that he had gone through, his mind wandered to the time when the evolution had occurred, right after a battle against slimes that he had almost fully gotten bored of, to the point that he even had thoughts about just leaving before evolving to try and fight Johanna.

'I'm glad my dumbass didn't do that.' Alan thought with a shiver going through his entire body as he thought about what could have happened if he had actually fought Johanna before he had evolved.

'That… that wouldn't have gone well at all. At fucking all. I would have likely become another skin body suit at her disposal.' He thought before his eyes turned to face forward as he called forth the system window with a single mental command.

'Status Menu.' Alan thought and in a single instant, the menu appeared before him, as it floated there right before him.

The changes were major to the actual point stats, it was more the changes to a single line of text. That single line had changed everything else.

First Chapter of the day.

Chapter 80 New
'Quarter elf evolution… It was more of qualitative upgrade than it was some kind of basic upgrade to the percentage… though the pain… yeah that wasn't really something that… I want to go through again.' Alan thought as his expression change for a split moment to a wince as he thought back to the pain that had coursed through his entire body during the evolution, it had felt as if his blood was lava, as if his bones were breaking and rearranging themselves inside his body.

And in a way, it was likely what had happened, his facial structure had changes, so had his body structure and even his musculature, his very DNA had changed and it was clear without even having to check with a microscope, one simply needed to take a single look at him and they would be able to come up with the right conclusion about what had happened.

His mana reserves had similarly increased from two hundred and fourty four, to a flat three hundred, quite a large increase. That however wasn't the main increase that he had seen.

Every single Special Stat had gotten a major increase, the special stats as he had learned where the potential of a specific species, a ten special stat of strength human was nowhere near as strong as a ten special strength stat elf or vampire or any other race, it was simply the peak of what a human could be, and by evolving into something that ranked higher in what could be called the species hierarchy, the special stat that had remained unchanged in numerical value had seen a massive qualitative change aswell.

His perception whilst still at four was below average, it was far better than the eyesight or perception of a regular human, by leagues and bounds.

'I wonder… just how strong an elf with maxed out strength or agility is though… or perception.' Alan thought to himself before he shrugged, there was no point in thinking about it at this moment and so his thoughts wandered over to the other change that he had seen in his status screen.

The experience points had rewinded back to one thousand when he had gotten to level thirty and finished his evolution.

It had been quite a shock, a joyful one for sure, as he had thought that he would likely be able to once more level up quickly as he had done before, however that, that had been a wrong thought as he had soon learned.

'I, no longer gain any experience points from the regular slimes, or the crimson slimes, and the experience gained by the screaming yellow slimes and the amethyst slimes dropped significantly. It's… an understandable change but It's… still annoying.' Alan thought to himself before he released a tired sigh as he shook his head slightly, thinking back to the dungeon wasn't something he wanted to do at the moment, it was a place that had been gruesome and utterly tiring to deal with, it was a place where he hadn't been able to leave for days, simply because the real world had been too dangerous and so he had been stuck in a loop of constant fighting until he could finally leave it, and now that he had left, he really didn't want to go back in. But he knew, he knew that he had to, if he wanted the next time fate brought something else to him again, if he wanted to be ready the next time, then he would have to keep growing stronger, and he had to do it as quickly as he could.

'I'm still a far shot away from the Cullens, what if there are even stronger things out there than them? What happens if they are crazy fucks like Johanna? I… I can't risk it. I can't voluntarily be lazy and stay weak, staying weak means being held in the palms of the strong… and I don't want that anymore. I wan't to be able to control myself for once.' He thought as his expression grew serious once more for a slight second before he turned his head back to look out of the classroom window.

Seconds turned into minutes and hours as the first class ended and he left for his second, and third, finally after which, the bell rang for the fourth time, signaling the start of the lunch period as the students got up from their seats and headed out of the classrooms, walking towards the cafeteria.

Alan similarly followed as he walked slowly, his hands in his jeans pockets as he walked whilst looking around, his mind having wandered back to the sight in the parking lot, back to Alice Cullen who had looked like she wanted to rip him apart to shreds.

'Is she that angry that I ghosted her? It wasn't even my damn fault but I can't exactly tell her that I have the body of a dead monster in my inventory… can I?' Alan thought before he stopped walking for a moment.

'Wait… maybe I can? I mean… I could… give it a try? Like maybe hint at her that I'm just… not really human? I mean… the changes that happened to me, they really can't deceive another supernatural creature can they? It's not like she will think or believe me if I tell her that I went away to get plastic surgery.' Alan thought as he nodded to himself, the decision to hint at his own supernatural form already forming in his mind as he started walking towards the cafeteria once more, his steps almost completely silent on the linoleum flooring.

It was however at that moment however as he was walking, as he was making that very decision, that his entire body froze, it wasn't his decision, it wasn't his choice to freeze his body and to stop all movement.

He couldn't walk, he couldn't speak, he couldn't breathe. For a few seconds, he couldn't do anything at all.

And then his entire vision got covered by system screens, except these were the usual blue holographic screens of the system, no, they were different, the colour was a deep bloody red, and a sound like an alarm bell was constantly ringing inside his mind, directly into what he felt like was his soul.

[ Warning! ]

[ Warning! ]

[ System Rule: Complete Secrecy of the Existence of the system is about to be broken! ]

[ Breaking the System Rule will result in a harsh penalty! ]

[ Warning! ]

The screens hovered before him for a few seconds before vanishing together with the alarm sound that had been ringing loudly inside his mind, as the feeling of control over his own body returned once more, merely a second later, as Alan started taking deep heavy breaths.

'What… what the fuck.' He thought in pure shock, his hands trembling at his sides.

Chapter 81 New
'What… what the fuck.' He thought in pure shock, his hands trembling at his sides even after the warnings had disappeared from his sight.

'I…can't tell anyone about the system? I… why? Is the system trying to protect me? Or is it something else? I'm… confused. It's not like… the Idea of telling Alice was anything more than a spur of the moment thing… but to be banned completely from even doing it in the first place. That… that makes me feel like a damn slave more than anything.' Alan thought to himself as he shook his head, feeling a headache slowly coming before he took a deep breath, slowly calming his nerves down as his hands slowly stopped shaking and he regained his composure and released the breath out once more slowly.

"Alright… let's just go." Alan muttered as he turned and kept walking down the hallways of the school.

Finally, he arrived before the cafeteria and opened the double doors and headed inside, the doors closing behind him, as soon as he entered the large hall, almost every single eye in the room was directed towards him.

The changes from the previous him, were frankly massive, he could overhear some people even asking others who he was, he was almost fully unrecognisable from before, still, it wasn't to the point that no one realised it was Alan Walker as they quickly informed the rest of the students of his real identity.

Lifting his head higher, he looked around the room and he found her, Alice Cullen, already seated at the same table that he had sat with her a few days earlier.

'I can't… really ignore her can I? That would just make this mess an even bigger one, better to just deal with it now rather than later.' Alan thought as he sighed and walked towards the cafeteria desk at the far back of the hall, the one closest to the Cullen table.

Arriving to stand before it, He looked down at Alice who hadn't even bothered to get up from her seated position, though she was looking directly at him with those fully black eyes, her lips slightly curled up into a smile as she looked at Alan and her hands were clearly fisted and held on the table before her.

"Hey Alice… how have you been?" Alan asked softly as he slowly sat down on the chair opposite her on the desk.

Alice didn't reply for a moment, as her eyes following his movement from when he was standing to when he was done sitting down, her pupils precise and slow, capturing every single detail of his movement and his new look.

"You've changed. Quite a lot." Alice said softly, her usual giddiness nowhere to be heard in her tone of voice, and nowhere to be seen on her expression. The usual cheery girl wasn't before him, this was something else, something completely different from what he had been used to from his interactions with her that he had previously.

"I… did, got some creams and all that, been sleeping better as well." Alan muttered softly, his eyes looking away from her, it almost felt impossibly to look at her whilst lying his arse off about his changes.

For a moment, Alice remained silent, before she opened her mouth once more and shook her head at the same time, it looked like she wanted to say something but held it back, only closing her mouth a few seconds later and releasing a soft sigh.

"You don't have to lie to me Alan, I thought we were friends? It's fine if you don't want to tell me, you don't have to share, I was just worried, you missed school for quite a bit and then those other guys stopped coming to school as well. A girl can worry about her friend can't she?" Alice said softly after a few moments as she leaned slightly closer towards him.

"You're right… I just, I had something to do. I can't tell you… what it was about Alice, I wish I could, but I cannot… but its over now. I'm back for real." Alan replied softly as he lowered his head. Now that the instinctual fear had lowered even further ever since becoming a quarter elf hybrid, he was slowly thinking of Alice in a better light, and this conversation only proved it further.

'She's… been really nice hasn't she? If I wasn't so scared… and just looked at her intentions and what she did, her actions… she's been nothing but nice to me.' Alan thought to himself, his previous interactions with the pixie like girl appearing in his mind and he thought back on them and it was true, Alice hadn't threatened or done anything against him, not even once. And the Cullens themselves hadn't actually done anything either, they had been in Forks for a while now, but they had been completely peaceful, there hadn't been any deaths or dissapearings.

Sure, he knew that if they did do something, they would likely hide it, but Alan knew that if they did kill someone, that person would at least disappear or maybe they'd make a story about him going off somewhere else and leaving town, but ever since the Cullens had shown up, the only disappearance had been John, Adrian and Jeannie… and Alan knew for a fact that it hadn't been the Cullens, he was part of the incident himself in the first place after all.

'That… I just… I really should stop treating people differently just by how I perceive them at first. No… that's also wrong, some people… really are dangerous, and this doesn't mean that Alice herself isn't, I should still trust my instincts, but I also shouldn't just act terrified or treat every other fact besides the fear as something that doesn't matter. At that point, I'd be just like an animal that reacts and is controlled by its own fear.' Alan thought as the slow realisation went through his mind before he lifted his head up to look back into her eyes.

The darkness that had been enveloping Alice's eyes was slowly fading away and being replaced by the beautiful amber that almost appeared like she had gold in her eyes if the light hit it in a particular way.

_____

Here's the first chapter of the day.

Chapter 82 New
The girl before him, almost looked vulnerable, or maybe he was just imagining it, but sitting there before her, Alan finally decided, if he wanted her as a friend, a real one, he had to change himself, he had to adapt and learn how to deal with his fear, with the new world he had been thrust into and the new people inside it. He couldn't let fear control him anymore.

He had already taken steps forwards, by being able to face the monstrosity that was Jeannie, but now he needed to continue, he needed to keep taking steps further, needed to continue evolving as a person as well, and not just in pure power.

"So, you certainly look different, but you said that you can't tell me how or what… and I'd rather you just said that instead of lying again Alan… but I do have to say… you really do look quite good." Alice said softly as her lips twitched upwards by the end of her sentence as she tiled her head and propped it up with one hand on the table.

"Thanks, it's still nowhere near you and your family though, ya'll kinda look like extreme supermodels or something." Alan muttered with a chuckle as he shook his head.

Time passed swiftly without either of them noticing it, the minutes feeling like seconds as the two slowly got caught up in conversing with each other, for a while, both of them felt like nothing else existed, like only the two of them existed in the world. Like nothing else mattered. And as the saying went, when you were enjoying yourself, time passed by without you even noticing it.

*Riiinnng!*

The bell signaling the end of the lunch period rang out with a loud shrill like sound.

Alan who had been leaning towards Alice, entirely caught up with her as she had been explaining about some random clothes and fashion brand that she had found at this store in Port angeles, jolted slightly.

His eyes widening in shock as he turned his gaze towards the bell that was ringing on the wall behind him.

Alan lifted his arm behind his head as he scratched his neck awkwardly.

"Man… I really didn't notice the time. Guess, I gotta head out. Oh, right before I go, I noticed your brother talking with Bella, Bella Swan or something. I thought he hated her, what changed?" Alan asked curiously, his voice clearly amused as his eyes turned to notice that not only had Bella and Edward been talking earlier, they had even been seated together on a table in the cafeteria and were now getting up slowly together.

Alice who was next to him and similarly getting up from her seat, shook her head, her excitement and amusement clearly visible in her expression.

"Oh him? Yeah, he's a bit of a weirdo, and yes, I did hear you calling him that once. But yeah, he was just in a bad mood last week and was sick and so he thought she smelled bad or something and later found out that everything smelled bad because he was indeed sick, and when he got well better, he felt really bad about his reaction to her so he went to apologise this morning, and as you see, they seem to be doing decently." Alice said as she hid her smile behind the palm of her hand.

"Riight… he thought that she smelled like shit. I mean, I did notice him scrunching his nose on that day in biology… but wait, what if she does indeed smell like shit and he just fucked up today and now he has to act nice because he already went and apologised once." Alan muttered in a whisper towards Alice, his expression changing into a smirk as he looked at Edward and Bella.

Edward who had been getting up with her, stiffened for a moment before his eyes turned towards Alan for but a split second, it was so fast that Alan thought he might have imagined it but he was sure that the guy had just given him the meanest death glare that he had seen in a while.

'Oh, oh damn, he's annoyed but it's so damn funny. Can't laugh though, I just finished a supernatural enemy, I don't need an enemy of an entire family.' Alan thought to himself amusedly as he tried very had to keep his lips from twitching.

Meanwhile Alice didn't seem to have any reason to hold back as she started laughing, peals of laughter that rang out in the cafeteria that was slowly dwindling of students as they headed out of the hall to go towards their respective classes.

It was at that moment as he was basking in what he felt was the most beautiful laughter that he had heard in his life that he heard an eruption of laughter from the other side of the room, horizontal to his and Alice's position.

It was a booming laughter that echoed throughout the cafeteria.

Emmet Cullen, looked like he was fighting a losing battle with himself as he was almost doubled over with laughed by the Cullens.

Jasper Hale who was next to him, held a twitching smile on his face whilst Rosalie Hale, his sister looked as if she wanted to strangle someone, or more precisely her rumored boyfriend, Emmet.

"Ah… that was a good one Alan, I'm going to tell that to my parents and I am so going to hold it over Edwards head, for like, the next decade." Alice replied with a chuckle as she wiped a nonexistent tear under her left eye with the tip of her index finger.

"Right… it was funny but not exactly that funny. You're over exaggerating, are you making fun of my jokes now?" Alan said as he lifted an eyebrow as he and Alice started walking out of the cafeteria hall.

"I am not, you don't get it, Edward's always serious, like always, so him getting stuck with someone because he apologised and now can't do it again or doesn't want to seem like a real asshole, is like a really realistic and possible outcome. I have to ask him if its true tonight when he comes home." Alice replied as she shook her head, amused.

Chapter 83 New
Time seemed to pass swiftly, the two of them heading towards their next classes, talking with each other, the sight from the morning almost being forgotten completely, at least for the moment. It seemed that everything was going perfectly.

A few hours later, it was the end of the school day, the last bell ringing, signaling the students that It was time to head home.

*Riiingggg*

Getting up from his seat next to the windows inside the biology classroom, Alan turned his head to look at what the two most interesting people of the class were doing.

Today had been a sort of test, where the Biology professor had asked the students to form groups of two with the people next to their desks so that they could look at some cells in a microscope. Alan had just paired up with a random girl next to him that he hadn't even bothered asking the name of. Meanwhile on the desk closeby to him, two people had gotten paired up together, two people that just a week ago, he would have never guessed would become a team.

'Bella Swan and Edward Cullen huh? To be honest, I didn't expect them to get together… though they were talking, is Edward really… okay with her now?' Alan thought to himself in confusion, the change in his behaviour was so stark from last week that he honestly had no words about it.

'Maybe he's really bipolar? Does he have a split personality or some shit?' Alan thought to himself curiously before shaking his head as he released a sigh.

'Yeah, let's just… pretend that those two and them being friends is completely normal, and in a way it is… compared to all the other crazy shit. But Bella Swan huh… now that I have more time, maybe I could look into why her level is so high? I mean its almost at my level and I've done quite a lot of shit, I'm not even human at this point… just what is so special about her that Edward, a Cullen is now suddenly interested in her? Just what… does she have?' Alan thought curiously as his mind wandered back to what he had heard during the class.

'She is smart enough, and from what I overheard, she was in the advanced program for biology back in Pheonix, that's a much bigger school than the one here in Forks, so she's definetly smart or atleast book smart.' Alan thought as he hummed to himself and then released a shrug as he got up and stretched, the other students had already mostly headed out of the class, leaving him behind with a few others that were caught up in conversations with their friends as they slowly headed out of the classroom.

'Still… I don't think I should worry too much about finding out about her, just a few more levels and maybe one more advancement in my race or my observation skill and I should get strong enough that I could just straight up use observe and find out all about her.' Alan thought as he started walking out of the classroom.

His current goals were at the moment taking this first day easy, after the last week, he atleast wanted one day as vacation to simply calm down after all of the craziness that had happened. After that, he had already made plans.

'Slowly progress my relationship with Alice Cullen and maybe at one point start asking her more about the supernatural world, she's clearly been it for longer than I have, much longer most likely considering they're vampires and then also continue leveling up, though I can't do grinding sprees where I don't come to school at all, I'll just have to start leveling up at night, and at the same time, I could start to use potions, like stamina potion so that I don't actually have to sleep every day for the entire week, I could lower my sleeping time to around three days a week or four.' He thought as he nodded to himself.

A few minutes later, after walking through the school halls and dodging every single student who was still looking at him with confused eyes at his dramatic appearance change, Alan arrived back at the parking lot.

Looking around, he quickly found Alice Cullen who was standing next to the silver volvo and the red jeep together with the rest of her family, they seemed to be talking about something amongst themselves but for the first time, they didn't seem to be arguing as much as they had when he had been focused on them during the last week.

'I guess they sorted out whatever problems they had?' Alan thought curiously however it was then that he noticed, Edward Cullen separating from Bella Swan and heading towards the rest of the Cullens.

The instant that he did, Rosalie Hale changed her expression almost completely , instead of the almost absentminded expression that she had been showing, it changed into one of what Alan could only guess was pure coldness and even a slight amount of hate.

'So… it changed from her hating Alice to her hating Edward? Does she ever do anything beside hate? What a bitch…' Alan thought to himself as he shook his head, it was at that moment that Alice noticed him standing at the front doors of the school and raised her hand, giving Alan a friendly wave.

Alan reciprocated with a wave before motioning with his head that he would be heading home. The pixie like woman simply nodded as she gave him a smile and then turned to once again talk with her family members.

Turning around, Alan started heading back towards his apartment, his steps slow and yet sure, light as air, not a single sound being made as he walked on the concrete path out of the school and into the town.

'Just… need to get a good night's sleep and then I'll deal with whatever tomorrow brings.' Alan thought to himself.

Chapter 84 New
Time passed swiftly, the sun falling and then rising up again after twelve hours, it was now six in the morning, the clouds had gotten worse and the entire city of forks was engulfed in snow.

Waking up, Alan slowly rose from his bed, his hair a complete mess from having had nightmares throughout the entire night, it wasn't something he had expected, during the past days he hadn't had any nightmares, simply for the fact that whenever he slept, he was so tired that his brain didn't even have the energy to conjure any sort of nightmares.

But yesterday had finally been a sort of rest day, even though it hadn't exactly started perfectly with Alice looking at him like a piece of meat or some kind of fawn that had fallen into a trap. It had soon changed to be one of the calmest days that he had since last week.

Getting up from the bed and quickly changing into a pair of clothes that he found were good enough so that he didn't look like a homeless bum but just an almost homeless bum instead. He quickly headed into his bathroom and cleaned his teeth before turning to head out of his apartment.

Walking down the stairs and then into the road, Alan finally noticed the snow that he hadn't noticed until he had finally gone down onto the street below.

Looking down at himself and his light jacket, Alan released a soft sigh of pure exhaustion, he didn't like the snow, no it was more like he hated it. He didn't have any good jackets that were warm enough when snow fell and usually he would spend the entire time freezing until he arrived at school or came back to his apartment.

'Damned it… I have to find some way to get cash and buy some shit… maybe I should try modeling? At this point, I definetly look good enough to do it.' Alan thought to himself as he walked down the street, the side walk and the road were icy and if it had just been a few days ago, he was sure that he would have already fallen down face first into the ground already, but ever since his partial evolution, he felt like his own movement had a complete change.

It wasn't just the fact that he made no sound whilst walking, as if he was a cat, it was the fact that his control over his own bodily movements had reached a level he didn't even think had been possible for himself even if he had trained his entire life.

His steps on the ice was soft, silent and utterly precise, not a single slip, not even in the slightest happened even though his boots weren't exactly made to protect him from slipping on ice.

Half an hour later, he finally arrived at the school once more. He noticed that the rest of the students had almost all arrived and were currently in the parking lot as in any other day, talking with eachother. His gaze caught itself on Bella Swan and her large orange truck, it was quite striking in comparison to the other student cars.

'Can she even see from behind the wheel?' Alan thought to himself amusedly as he started walking when he noticed a white van heading down the road, the speed it was going at was quite high though it didn't seem to be slipping, so Alan casually crossed the road and kept walking through the parking lot.

His head turned to face the entrance of the school, a dozen meters ahead of him, it was at that moment as he was walking however that he heard a sound. It was jarring in comparison to the bustling sounds of students talking and engines idling by in the parking lot.

*Screeechhh*

It was the sound of rubber tires screeching on asphalt as van behind him lost control. His head turned in an instant towards the direction of the noise, as he precisely located the place where the sound was coming from.

Fighting against the shining yellow slimes had made him in a way extremely sensitive to any sort of alarming sounds, because he had to be, if he was even a single second late, it usually would result in him having his eardrums exploded and his equilibrium system going to complete shit.

Alan's eyes widened as he quickly noticed the trajectory the white van was taking, it was swerving directly towards the orange truck, directly towards Bella Swan. There was no time, the van was going too fast, and Bella wasn't moving, she looked like a deer in highlights, standing there in shock.

"JUMP!" Alan screamed however it didn't do anything, the girl was too caught up in the sight of the van heading towards her.

'Fuck, Fuck, Fuck, I don't wanna see another fucking dead body damned it.' Alan thought to himself as he started moving, trying to run, however he already knew, he knew that he stood no chance, he was too far away, and he wasn't nearly fast enough to reach her.

It was at that moment however, as the van was about to fully engulf Bella Swan's figure, that Alan noticed a blur, it was a blur of pure speed that reached Bella in what seemed to be like a fraction of a second.

Alans eyes widened in pure shock as his eyes finally caught the figure once it had stopped, it was barely visible from his current position, but he was quite sure that he wasn't seeing wrong.

'Edward… Cullen.' Alan thought in his mind, the shock of the sight causing a shiver to pass through his entire body as the sound of the van colliding with something almost metallic or stone-like rang out.

*Crash*

And then the van stopped, its front turned slightly to the side.

The second it did, screams started in the parking lot as students either remained frozen or quickly rushed towards the site.

'Just… how… strong are they?' Alan thought inwardly…

Chapter 85 New
'Just how strong are they?' Alan thought, shock colouring his expression as he started slowing down as he walked closer to the scene of the accident.

The rest of the students had started running towards the location, either by a sense of urgency about what had happened or simply because they were curious about the situation.

Alan stopped at the edge as his eyes swerved as he caught sight of the rest of the Cullens on the other side of the parking lot. Alice looked…. Relaxed whilst the rest of them didn't so much.

Especially Rosalie Hale who looked like she had bitten something extremely sour, her expression much colder than anything Alan had seen before, it was colder than the ones she used to give him at first, it looked almost the same as what Edward's expression had looked like on that very first day when he had sat next to Bella Swan.

Alice's eyes caught his for a moment as she gave a soft, barely there smile and a nod towards him.

The motion confused Alan, he had just seen what had happened, he had just literally seen Edward move towards the other side of the parking lot at basically super speed and she was smiling and nodding at him.

'Just… what? That's a confusing reaction, weren't they trying to hide this shit? Just what are you thinking Alice?' Alan thought to himself in confusion for a brief moment before he pushed through the crowd carefully and arrived at the front to check what had happened.

Bella was laid down flat on the asphalt and she clearly looked dazed though there was no blood anywhere and from what he could see there really wasn't a single scratch on her.

The van seemed to have hit the edge of Bellas truck as it had swerved to the side… at the very last moment.

Alan's eyes moved quickly as he observed the damage, the entire scene being taken in by his perception and the outcome that was coming out clearly didn't add up at all.

'She should have gotten crushed, she would have if Edward didn't save her. And this fuckin… how do you explain this? I guess other humans wouldn't question it much considering the shock of the situation?' Alan thought as his eyes went to the part of the van that had been hit, it was a dent, a dent that looked… almost smoothed over.

'He smoothed it… with his damn hand, im pretty sure it would have been a hand indented in there if he hadn't and the other fact is, if that thing hit Bella's truck.' Alan thought as his eyes moved towards the orange truck.

'Then why did that thing not have a single darned scratch on it. Sure, old cars were built better, stronger materials, better frame, but the paint would have alteast gotten a scratch, maybe an indent on it, but theres nothing… damn Edward, you really are one confusing guy, first you hate her, and now you practically blow your cover to anyone that actually looks close enough for her.' Alan thought to himself as he slightly shook his head and turned as he walked away from the crowd.

He wouldn't be gaining anything more from staying close, he had atleast however gotten a few clues about the actual strength of the Cullen's, he didn't know their exact strength or limits, or how far Edward had to push himself to achieve a feat like this however he was sure about some things. One that he was most definitely sure about was…

'They're stronger than me still, I knew from the observation skill not working, but this… this is beyond anything that I thought was possible, they're basically the Flash, and have super strength and durability on top of it for them to be able to handle moving at that speed and stopping a collision. Damned Vampires, why didn't I get to be a vampire, but nooo, I have to be a beautiful femboy elf. Fuck.' Alan thought as he walked away from the crowd and started heading back towards the front of the school, as he was walking, he arrived closeby to Alice and stopped for a moment as he turned to her.

"Not going to check on your brother? He might have gotten hurt, that looked pretty dangerous." Alan asked, a slight smile appearing on his face, it was almost amused, almost teasing in a way as he looked at the woman who had until now tried her best to confuse him, even eating a apple right before him in the cafeteria just to make sure that he didn't think about her true nature.

Alice just shook her head slightly, she wasn't exactly smiling like she usually was, but she didn't look like she was in the worst of moods like Rosalie, and she had even smiled at him earlier, the quick changes of her expression and the moods were becoming more confusing by the day.

'Can't this girl just choose one mood and stick with it, bipolar… definetly bipolar.' Alan thought to himself as he waited for her reply, which was taking quite a bit longer than her usual instant replies whenever she talked with him.

"Ah well… I saw him from this side, he didn't look that hurt and there wasn't any screaming from him… and well I just always like hoping for the best so honestly… I didn't want to go running incase something actually did happen… I, I wouldn't have taken it well." Alice says softly as she shook her head at him lightly, her eyes turning down for a moment, giving an image of what Alan thought was almost the picture perfect response of a scared worried sister.

Chapter 86 New
'What… the fuck. One moment, she looks like she doesn't care, she looks like she fucking blew her cover by smiling at him when that shit happened, and now she just comes up with the best possible excuse to come out of that situation as if it's nothing. I'm… I'm cursing a lot today, this… y'know what… fine. Okay.' Alan thought as he felt like releasing a sigh of pure exhaustion, he really couldn't predict what she was going to do, how she was going to act or even her expressions.

He had thought that he could, for a while he had actually thought that he could predict Alice's reactions, that he was actually learning how she reacted but then situations like this came up and he realised that he still didn't actually know anything about the woman standing before him.

"Right… yeah, probably for the best, but I went and yeah, he's fine, no blood or like gore or anything scary, he got lucky, the hit looked pretty bad but he did save Bella, guess he really changed his stance on her huh?" Alan replied, his own voice gaining a softer quality, as he tried his best to act like he was similarly just as worried as she was, both of them trying to act it out infront of eachother but only Alice actually did a good job.

If anyone were to look at Alan's face right now, and his tone of voice and they had ever talked to him at length before this conversation before? They would have instantly noticed the soft twitching and the slight awkwardness of his voice. But similarly to how the shock of the incident would act as a good cover up for Edward against people that wouldn't look too deeply, it would also cover up Alan's acting.

"Yeah, thanks Alan. I… that relieves me quite a bit, have to be honest. Guess I'll head closer now, might follow them to the hospital. You coming?" Alice asked softly as she lifted her hand and softly brushes his as he was standing before her.

Alan froze for a moment at her touch before lightly shaking his head.

"No, they seemed fine and like, I'm not close with Edward or Bella, it would just be weird if I came with you. But yeah, tell me after, message me or something if anything happens or it's all good." Alan replied as he shook his head and took a step back.

"Alright, will do. See you tomorrow then Alan." Alice replied as a small smile came back on her face as she gazed at his face before she shook her own head, muttering something under her breath as she walked away towards the scene of the car crash.

Alan meanwhile turned and continued on his walk towards the front of the school before quickly heading inside and walking through the halls towards his locker to get his school books for his class.

'Guess that happened. It… honestly that was quite lucky, I was in a good spot to see what happened and I got to check atleast a portion of their strength and learn that I, really really have to keep grinding on those damned dungeons if I want to be anything but a dead body in the case that these guys or some other bullshit supernatural creature decides to come by and attack me.' Alan thought as he finally realeased a long winded sigh and slammed his locker door closed after taking out his books.

Turning around, he slowly started heading towards his classroom whilst holding his books under one arm, his gaze slightly empty as he was still deeply into his thoughts, not about the accident, that had already left his thoughts, it was the dungeons, he now realised more than ever about his need to go back into them.

And yet he wasn't as excited as he had been when he first unlocked them, the dungeons weren't something to joke about, the mystery regarding them still had yet to be solved, the red slimes still ate human body parts, the souls inside the screaming roses were still there and had to have been taken from somewhere. And there was the fact that there was quite a few more levels until he completed the slime dungeon which would mean new variations of the mutated slime, new dangers that were still completely unknown to him and one small mistake could lead to his death, could lead to the end of his life and that, that wasn't something he was quite so happy to go back to confronting. Not after what he had just survived.

'But there really isn't any other choice, at least back there… I know that the enemy won't be too strong, I know that the system wouldn't just drop an enemy that's unbeatable, it would take into account my level and I could always try to run away and just leave the dungeon, but here in the real world… that's not an option, If i meet something here, I can't run away, I have to face it, and there are no system rules here, I could end up going against something that could erase me from existence in a single second. Something that could crush my head like a damn watermelon.' Alan thought as he arrived at his classroom and headed inside, walking towards his seat at the window and sitting down before placing his books on the desk before him as the bell above him rang, signaling the start of classes though not all the students were back, most of them were in fact still around the car accident out in the parking lot.

'Tonight, I'll head back tonight.' Alan thought to himself as he closed his eyes, the morning light hitting the side of his new face.

Chapter 87 New
The hours passed quickly, the commotion that had happened at the start of the day had slowly dwindled as the students had to head back to their classes and yet it still remained the talk of the day, it would likely remain the talk of the month. In a small town like Forks when almost nothing special happened, it was something that would remain in the news for a while. Especially because it had been Bella Swan, the new transfer student and the infamous Edward Cullen that had been directly involved in the incident.

As the day slowly passed into the afternoon, the final ring of the bell rang out, singaling the end of the day's classes as the students headed outside of their classes with their friends, heading towards the exit of the school.

Alan slowly got up from his seat as he grabbed his books and headed out of his classroom, the afternoon light hitting the hallways from the windows as he walked to his locker, placed his books inside and closed it before turning to head out of the highschool.

His mind was still stuck on many things, there were many questions that still remained unanswered, many things that he had to think about and yet the more he thought about them, the more he realised just how far away he actually was.

The fight against Johanna had given him confidence and even a slight misconception, he had thought that he had started to finally figure things out, that the road before him was now paved and that he wouldn't face any troubles, that he would find out all that he needed but as he had spent hours today thinking, he had quickly come to the realisation.

Did he actually know anything? He had gotten a system, that he still knew nothing about, he had gotten turned into a different race that he didn't exactly know anything about, not really, he knew about his stats and the buffs that the race gave in comparison to a human, but did he really know anything else?
'No.. i don't… I don't even truly know what I am now. I don't know anything truly substantial. Unlike Humans who know exactly what they are, know how their metabolism works, how their blood and organs work, how their brain mostly works. I know nothing about what I'm slowly turning into. And then the vampires… thats all I know, from Johanna, and can that even be truly trusted? I mean, I don't have any way to verify it. I don't even know what Vampires are in the real world besides stories, they could be completely different and in a way they are… damned it.' Alan thought as he walked out of the highschool and out into the parking lot as he started heading down the street.

*Buzz* *Buzz*

It was at that moment that his flip-phone vibrated in his pocket as he was walking, a notification coming through.

Taking the phone out of his pocket and flipping it open, he quickly saw that he had received a text message from a saved contact, clicking okay with the small keyboard on the phone's lower half, he saw who it was.

[ Alice: Hey Alan, just wanted to let you know that everything went well and great, neither of the two are like in any danger and there was no damage really but Bella's gonna take the day off, Edward too. ]

Looking at the message, Alan nodded to himself as he kept walking whilst contemplating how he should reply to the message for a moment before his fingers moved on the small phone keyboard with extreme dexterity by human standards.

[ Alan: Alright, that's great Alice. I was a bit worried and all since he's your brother and the accident happened so quickly. I'm glad that he's okay and that Bella's fine too. See you tomorrow in class? ]

[ Alice: Yeah, see you then! Bye bye! ]

[ Alan: Bye. ]

Looking over at his text once more, Alan felt like slapping himself as he flipped the phone closed and put it back into his pocket.

'Right, I'm glad that hes okay and I made it sound like I was only concerned because he's her brother, god does that sound… a bit like I don't give a fuck at all, which in all regards, I kinda don't but like… well who cares, he's a vampire anyways.' Alan thought to himself as he turned his attention forwards once more as he walked down the street.

Around half an hour later, he arrived before his apartment building, looking up for a moment before walking inside and heading up the stairs to his apartment.

Walking inside after unlocking the door, he was quickly met with his room, the smell of rot had almost completely faded thanks to the fact that he had left the windows open almost constantly since the event, however that had also caused another problem.

The area near his singular window was almost completed drenched, snow had gotten inside and then had proceeded to melt.

'That… that's gonna cause me a shit ton of problems with my flooring.' Alant thought in annoyance as he released a sight and walked towards his small kitchenette as he grabbed two used towels and placed them on the ground as he started trying to take out as much of the water and moisture as he could from the flooring. A process that wasn't actually working that well, considering that his towels could barely absorb anything with how old they were and how the cloth had deteriorated.

'If only I could just use my inventory to grab and store the moisture, it would be so easy, just a single word and it would be done. Wait can I?' Alan thought to himself as he placed his hand on the ground and tried before shaking his head in frustration.

'Yeah. No.' He thought as he released a sigh.

Chapter 88 New
After a dozen minutes of trying to get as much of the moisture out of his flooring, he finally gave up as he closed the window and turned around, throwing the used towels on the floor and heading towards his bed, laying down and closing his eyes for a moment before snapping them open as he called forth the dungeon menu.

'System Dungeon.' Alan thought and in the very next instant, the blue holographic system menu appeared before him, floating infront of him on thin air.

[ System Dungeon. ]

[ Dummy Dungeon ] [ Level 1 ] [ Join ]

[ Slime Dungeon ] [ Level 5 ] [ Join ]

[ ??? Dungeon ] [ Level 50 ] [ Unavailable ]

[ ??? Dungen ] [ Level 100 ] [ Unavailable ]

..

Lifting his hand, he pressed the join button for the slime dungeon and the confirmation menu opened up before him.

[ Proceed into the Slime Dungeon. ]

[ Yes ] [ No ]

Clicking yes quickly, he felt his senses start to disappear once more, this time, the effect was arguably much worse than any other time he had tried it.

Before, his senses hadn't been that high in the first place, even then however the loss of them had been a big shock, a shock that he had however learned to get used to. Now however, with his new boosted status, going from what were practically supernatural stats into complete loss of feeling, sight and all other sense was a shock that left him completely unmoored.

'Fuck… this thing.' Alan thought for a moment as he was left floating in the absolute nothingness for a few moments before his vision slowly started to clear up once more as he found himself back in the slime dungeon.

Slowly getting up as he looked around at the tokyo main road around him and the many dark alleys on its sides, Alan felt a headache slowly start to come to his head.

'I'm… I'm so fucking bored of this damned place, can't there be something else. A different damn scenary, but noo, the next dungeon is level fucking fifty, eighteen level ups remaining.' Alan thought in pure annoyance as he slowly started walking ahead towards the next alley. This would be his first time entering into this one. The likely hood of meeting a new type of slime was quite high.

The previous ones had been purple or rather amethys slimes.

Slimes that had come close to a true evolution in their nature but failed at the end.

'That means the one's that I'll be facing from now on are going to be closer and closer to their perfect evolution… likely leading to the level fourty five alley having actually perfectly evolved slimes if it keeps on going like this. Just what would a perfectly evolved slime be? Something that can instantly dissolve matter and at the same time have almost perfect manouverability? Maybe a perfect evolution could be that, something that enhances a basic slimes abilities, not a mutation like the red slimes who had the weird jelly or the yellow slimes that could scream, those were clearly mutations instead of an evolution.' Alan thought to himself as he released a soft hum whilst walking down the main road.

He had to walk quite a bit to reach his next alley, at first, he could simply enter the dungeon and walk a bit to enter the first alley that he saw, but now, he had to walk for almost ten entire minutes to reach the alley where he would be facing his new opponents.

'Status.' Alan thought to himself as he opened his status menu one last time as he finally arrived to stand before the dark alley on the side of the road.

[ Status Menu ]

'Mana Perception Activate.' Alan thought as his vision instantly changed, as if the world had instantly gained a whole new array of colours and definition. The difference between regular sight and mana perception had further increased with his evolution, it was to the point that he could almost say he was actually operation blind whilst the skill wasn't active.

It had gained another, new quality with his evolution, it now allowed him to slightly see past obstructions and even walls to check the mana signatures that could be hidden behind them. It was something that he had only found out a few hours earlier whilst in class and he had decided to use it.

'This… would have been so much more useful against the fight with that bitch… but noo, I just forgot to fucking check it. And no one told me that this thing would also evolve… nevermind, I was just a dumbass.' Alan thought to himself as he released a soft sigh and slowly started heading into the dark alley as he summoned the combat spear from his inventory into his hand, the spear appearing in an instant with a shower of white light motes that quickly gathered together and formed it.
