[RWBY] RWBY Shorts

Team RWBY and Team NPR are worried; Jaune made an online friend before arriving at Beacon, and after months of bonding over the same video games, they are finally going to meet in person. Jaune is heading into the city to see her while his friends keep a close watch—just in case she turns out to be an organ-trafficking ring rather than a real woman. Imagine the look on their faces when they see Jaune alongside a beautiful, older, yet incredibly attractive woman—the kind of woman a submissive guy would beg to step on him. She has pale skin and long blonde hair that makes Yang jealous, and she wears high-quality clothing; she looks like someone who doesn't have many friends, yet she appears genuinely happy to meet Jaune. No one knows who this "Miss Melas" is, but the teams won't rest until they see that everything goes smoothly. This is based on an abandoned fanfic that I would love to see picked up again.

Jaune and his twin brother were trained and very strong. Three months before beacon his brother was running late for something him and Jaune were going to do. A grimm took him by surprise and killed him. How does this change Jaune and how does RWBY and NPR help him come to terms with it.

Jaune has never been bad at flirting—in fact, he's a master at it—but a series of misunderstandings has led him to believe he's no good at it and that girls aren't interested in him. In reality, however, many girls from his hometown and the places he visited with his family during his youth are obsessed with him. His family noticed this early on; they overprotect him not only because they fear for his safety given his past frailty, but also because the girls who are crazy about him won't stop hounding him. While his sisters have managed to keep these girls at bay without him realizing it, they haven't been able to break the obsession—an obsession that has persisted even after he arrived at Beacon. Now, many of those girls have trained as Huntresses just to be by his side, and each one is willing to do whatever it takes to win him over. Will Team NPR and Team RWBY be able to protect Jaune?

Has Jaune as a werewolf or as the big Bad Wolf to Ruby's Red Riding Hood been done yet?
I believe that there was one where he was a werewolf and she was a vampire. I can't remember one with her a little riding hood.

What do you think being in the ever after do if anything to Jaune's body and soul.

How about this—if anyone wants to turn it into a story: Jaune is sparring against Cardin in the training arena and is losing, until suddenly, a man appears between them. He looks confused at first but spots Jaune and shouts, "It's Jaune Arc—the Rusted Knight! I'm a huge fan; I'm so happy to meet you! I even bought the latest poster you're on." This baffles everyone, as the idea of him being the "Rusted Knight" is completely new to them. Jaune refuses to accept it, but the guy produces his poster and photos showing Jaune in the future—his appearance, his bearing, everything. Everyone sees the proof. Questions arise about how this is possible, leading to an explanation about the Ever After and the nature of time there; this establishes Jaune as a stable temporal anomaly and the legendary Rusted Knight. Consequently, many girls—including Cinder—begin to see him in a whole new light. Upon witnessing and hearing this, Glynda decides to detain the man and take him to Ozpin, but the stranger simply looks at her and apologizes for bothering her "husband." This creates even more trouble due to the implications and confusion that ensue when he reveals photos of Jaune and Glynda Arc together.

a PUMP ACTION? for Jaune that usually has a sword and Shield? Unless it was the grip pump like the Burgess shotgun, make it a maybe. However the RWBY equivalent of the KS23 with MANY shotgun payloads is a great idea.

Lever action with looped lever for the ability to one hand it. a machine pistol, an assault rifle with underbarrel shotgun or grenade launcher and a freaking handcannon of a Revolver(it could be the RWBY Rsh12 or it could be a 9 shot revolver with shotgun underbarrel) type of weapons. I see Jaune going with modular weapon platforms over mechashift weapons. Technically, getting a scope with an 45 degree attachment for either iron sights or red dot sights and bayonet on a rifle is making a modular platform.

That's why I'm giving it the role of acting as bait for this reason. To be a much larger concentration of negativity over the cities that you can clear out Grimm before they threaten the walls. Plus by concentrating Grimm, even if it comes at much larger quantities, it makes clearing out Grimm a much easier problem since they'll come to you. After all you don't need to go out of your way to make the conditions any worse, just air drop in the essentials, give the prisoners enough so they don't starve but are malnourished.

So what benefit is it to the state to keep a bunch of malnourished menial laborers who can barely perform menial tasks (most people who have never experienced it have no idea how a sustained 700 - 1,200 calorie per day diet effects strength, stamina, and cognition)? Because when that central complex is breached (it isn't a question of if - something always goes wrong) then they'll have just set all of the manpower and resources that they put into it ablaze. I simply don't see any situation in which it less wasteful than leaving the prisoners for dead out as far as possible from civilization. If they build a settlement and become a sort of colony great, if they die, then oh well, if they resort to banditry, then a Huntsman will settle their account unless the Grimm do it first.

Now, if destructibility is factored in, and I admit that I think that Grimm kiting could work on a smaller scale. Prisons have always been a necessity for society's survival, but taking them from a means to contain pervasive and substantial individual threats to society away from the whole. You don't want an asset that vulnerable, isolated, and flimsy to actually matter to any strategy or economic growth.

Besides, I figure Grimm kiting to work like fishing, the live bait being eaten ought to be the expectation.

So the problem is that men or resources committed to keeping the prison facility itself operational need to be written off as losses with no returns the second they are committed. And I guess what throws me for a loop for the prison idea generally is why anybody on a planet where space is exceedingly limited would commit resources that they know they will lose over the course of time for no benefit that couldn't be earned at scale some in cheaper way in order to protect people who have already proven themselves as liabilities when simply discarding them brings about the same result for less effort, cost, energy, and stress.

They definitely inherited it from Willow.

Also, past Weiss' anger is entirely warranted. She still probably would have it bad for mature Jaune, though.

Now, there was a drawing that showed what each of them inherited from their mother, and from their father, but I cannot find it. I will be going back to that promptly.

malfoid is just to much fun

I also see that Malfoid has become the new Bowsette.

I think it takes a bratty blonde rich girl to really make the tsundere thing work.

White hair is similar enough that I think it works too. Hence Weiss.

Of course, now you've given me an idea.

Well, two new ideas. One is perhaps what members of Weiss' social circle used to look like before the assassination attempts started.

I'm reading another fanfic, "Sneaking His Way into the Multiverse" where Jaune kills without remorse, but only against criminals and traitors. The comments suggest various theories, the most accepted being that due to millennia of Grimm. The idea that humans with psychopathic traits, like killing without remorse but still being capable of emotions, was appealing because it doesn't appeal to Grimm. Being able to kill without remorse while smiling would be horrific on Earth, but in Remnant it's a useful thing if you want your children to survive. And as it unites or strengthens over thousands of generations, it creates a species capable of killing without hesitation, so governments must find ways to reduce that condition. It's a summary, but I don't know how to explain it without going into too much detail about things that are related but lack coherence.

That fic kinda explore the mentality of what the typical remmantian could be, because those guys archive a civilization more advanced than ours while living on a death world, so been a carbon copy of western civilization in both culture and psicology doesnt make sense, so in the fic these difference are show trought things like when he chose to take the hunter class in the world of Konosuba because hunter is the equivalent of paladin to his world, or when he tries to things in a pacific way that minimise the amount of negativity it can produce and then going for the throat when that doesnt work, to finish things as fast as possible as show during his stay in the world of Cyberpunk, it follow a logic that make sense in the world of Remmant because avoiding conflict to prevent negative feelings make sense and if conflict is inevitable then finish it as fast possible to curtail the generation of negative feelings as much as possible.

A fellow reader, thank you for your help in explaining.

People forget all too easily how living on a planet like that would effect norms, beliefs, values, and even brain chemistry and structures.

I've gone on at length about how I've theorized that the people of Remnant likely go well into their 90s with neuroplasticity that only outliers with the right combination of genes and lifestyle have any hope of attaining on Earth. Principally because any upset even in later life could see the whole town wiped out.

So, combined with the fact that the people of Remnant are canonically tend to run well above earth's average on height and presumably weight:

Earth males: 67.3 inches (5'7.3") or 171cm

Earth females: 62.8 inches (5'2.8") or 158cm

Earth global average: 65.1 inches (5'5.1) or 165cm

Remnant males: 75.4 inches (6'3.4") or 191.4cm

Remnant females: 66.4 inches (5'6.4") or 168.7cm

Remnant global average: 70.8 inches (5'10.8") or 180cm.

And those came off of height charts released for V1 and V2.

So a large number of the people included in those samples were not done growing.

But it makes sense, you need the size and strength advantages on a death world.

But those evolutionary pressures hit the mind as they do the body, arguably more so, given that the Grimm are attracted to negative emotions.

They all probably have obscenely low cortisol levels on average and their neuro-chemical responses to external stimuli probably look radically different to our own.

Taken together with the fact that the world they live in is overrun by monsters, I find it hard to believe that they would be nearly as effected by death and violence (the things themselves) as we would.

For instance, as idealistic as Ruby is, I find it hard to believe that she isn't already completely comfortable taking the life of an enemy combatant.

In V1E1 she is already dealing out blows that will cripple/kill anyone without an Aura (Crescent Rose weighs 60 lbs / 27 kg, and with the speeds that Ruby swings it, even taking the blunt side - what few blunt sides there are - is more than enough to guarantee a caved skull or crushed rib cage with all of the ancillary organ-ruptures and internal hemorrhaging).

There is no way that any of Roman's men survived that night.

The massive blade and the anti-material rounds offer even grimmer prospects for anybody on the business end.

But I see this has already addressed the point.

On your words I might check this fic out myself.

I will be honest... It would be nice if there was a fandom renaissance with RWBY as there was with Harry Potter. Chuds retaking the fan spaces and having fun with it again.

Unfortunately, despite it's flaws, Harry Potter is a landmark trillion dollar franchise that made JK Rowling the richest self-made woman on Earth, and has influenced countless media since. A cornerstone of modern Western culture.

RWBY... Is not. The most it ever got were those homophobic Ruby memes. The show is, politely put, very mid at best. The fight scenes by Monty were the main draw, along with it being fun, action packed, and American made... For two and a half volumes. The rest of it... Very uneven at best, absolutely horrendous at worst.

Red vesus Blue was a great series. That is Rooster Teeth's crowning achievement. RWBY is Rooster Teeth's great failure.

And that's very sad.

The Arc Clan: Uncles Remy and Logan New
RWBY and JNPR piled into the latter's common room after practice, still buzzing with the usual post-training energy.

"Did you like our new combo, Ruby?" Nora grinned, "Pyrrha and I call it 'Railgun!'"

"It was so awesome!" Ruby gushed, "Ooh! I can't wait to make an actual rail gun!"

"You aren't going to use that attack in the tournament, are you Jaune?" Weiss asked, sounding concerned. Jaune grinned.

"Probably not against you guys."

"We'd see it coming from a mile away," Yang laughed.

"Maybe," Jaune smirked a little, looking over at Ren. "Anyway, let's-URK!"

A short, angry dark haired man grabbed Jaune by the throat with his right hand while his left sprouted gleaming metallic claws with a sharp snikt. "Hand over what you owe, Runt," he growled, "or I'll turn you into a shishkabob."

Weapons snapped up in an instant. Pyrrha leveled her spear, voice cold and fierce. "Let him go, or I'll rip every piece of metal from your body and use it to tear you apart."

Yang's gauntlets flared as she stepped forward. "And then I'll beat you to a pulp."

Nora's grin stretched wide and manic, hammer already humming with pink lightning. "And I'll do even worse!"

Jaune just laughed. "Uncle Logan, the whiskey's in the cabinet. I'll get it for you."

Logan paused, then gave a short nod and released Jaune's throat, the claws retracting with another metallic sound.

Jaune turned to his friends, rubbing his neck. "Guys, this is just my uncle Logan. He does this kind of thing all the time."

"Attempted murder?" Weiss gasped, glaring at Logan. The short man smirked.

"Keeps the runt on his toes."

Ren frowned.

Ruby's eyes went wide. "My uncle doesn't do stuff like that!"

Yang lowered her fists a fraction. "Qrow did almost burn the house down once."

As Jaune moved to fetch the bottle, Ruby protested, "That's different!"

Logan accepted the whiskey with a grunt. "Thanks, Runt."

Jaune grinned. "You're welcome. Is Uncle Remy here too?"

Right on cue, a tall, handsome stranger with coiffed red hair and striking red eyes set against black sclera stepped into the room, idly shuffling a deck of cards. A grin spread across his face, and every woman present felt her cheeks flush despite herself.

"Jaune! Well, ain't you just shootin' up like a weed! Give Gambit a hug!"

Jaune stepped forward happily and wrapped him in a warm embrace. Gambit chuckled and hugged him back just as easily.

The group eventually settled onto the couches and chairs, the initial chaos giving way to wary curiosity as Logan dropped into the sturdiest seat like he owned it and Gambit sprawled with lazy grace, still toying with his cards.

Gambit leaned forward, accent thick and warm. "Our Hunter group, we work wit' Radian's militia, y'know? Became good friends wit' yo' papa, Jaune. Nick, he one of de best men we ever met out dere in de field."

Logan took another pull from the bottle and grunted. "Nick's the dumbest ox I ever met. So friendly. So cheerful."

Gambit laughed softly, translating with a theatrical wave of one hand. "What he mean is, he's a solid man, de best friend we ever had, mon ami. Logan just don't know how to say nice things without soundin' like he's complainin'."

Logan grunted again, but the corner of his mouth twitched.

Jaune, perched on the arm of the couch between Pyrrha and Ruby, couldn't help himself. "So… is the entire X-Men Hunter Group coming, or just you two?"

Ruby exploded like a firework. "The X-Men Hunter Group?! The actual X-Men?! Like, with the claws and the cards and the—oh my gosh, that's so cool! Are they all coming? Is there gonna be a big team-up? Can I meet them?!"

Logan's low growl rumbled through the room like distant thunder. Ruby flushed scarlet and clapped both hands over her mouth. "S-sorry! I didn't mean to— I just— sorry!"

Pyrrha's eyes sparkled with genuine excitement, her earlier tension easing into something brighter. "It is very exciting. Especially after the famous Magneto joined your ranks. The way he turned the tide in that last major operation—"

Logan growled again, deeper this time. Gambit's ever-present grin tightened into something closer to a scowl, his cards flicking faster between his fingers.

Jaune rubbed the back of his neck, trying to smooth things over. "Magneto's pretty awesome… once he got over his whole 'destroy mankind' phase."

Weiss stared at him like he'd grown a second head. "Is he a Faunus?"

Jaune nodded. "Yeah. But he used to want everyone with Semblances to rule over those without. Real extreme stuff."

Blake nodded slowly, ears twitching beneath her bow. "He was too extreme even for the White Fang. Some of the old guard still talk about him like a cautionary tale."

Weiss looked horrified, one hand pressed to her chest. Jaune rushed to add, "He's better now! Really! He's on our side these days. Mostly."

Gambit let the cards settle with a soft shff and leaned back, eyes gleaming with mischief. "Onto more important matters, though. How many fiancés does Jaune actually have, anyway? Why he spare none of dat talent for Gambit, eh? A man could use a little help in de romance department."

Logan smirked around the mouth of the bottle. "One wife's usually enough for a smart man. More than that and you're just askin' for trouble."

Jaune went rigid, face draining of color before flooding with mortified red. "I— it's not— they're not— it's a misunderstanding! A really big, ongoing, everyone-keeps-joking-about-it misunderstanding!"

Blake spoke up first, perfectly deadpan. "He's actually my fiancé."

Yang's grin turned feral as she slung an arm around Jaune's shoulders. "I called him first, though. Dibs."

Ruby bounced in her seat, still pink from her earlier outburst but undeterred. "Arturia likes me best! She said so!"

Pyrrha's voice was calm but firm, one hand resting lightly on Jaune's knee. "I'm the true fiancé. We've been partners since day one."

Jaune buried his face in his hands, voice muffled and desperate. "Guys, please, it's not like that— they're all just— it started as a joke and then everyone kept adding to it and now even my family thinks— I don't even know how many fiancés I supposedly have anymore!"

Logan and Gambit roared with laughter, the sound filling the common room like thunder and warm rain. Logan slapped his knee while Gambit wiped a fake tear from the corner of one eye, cards scattering across the table in his mirth.

"Mon dieu, Jaune," Gambit wheezed between chuckles, accent thick as molasses, "you in way over yo' head, mon ami. But Gambit approve. Dis gon' be one hell of a festival."

I cannot mimic Gambit's accent without almost instinctively say "Ooh, I'm about to make a name for myself!" accidently.
