Vale :Arc Homestead & Dust Shop Crossover

Training Session : Late Afternoon, Arc Homestead

The late afternoon sun dappled the homestead porch, bouncing off the old wooden beams and the forest beyond. Roman Torchwick adjusted his coat and tipped his hat at Jaune Arc, who stood across from him, fists clenched and hood low.

"Alright, kid," Roman said with a grin. "Time to stop swinging blindly and start swinging smart. Aura's fine, but it can do more. Heal faster, move faster, hit harder. And don't just punch things, let the devil inside you do the heavy lifting."

Jaune swallowed, nodding. He could feel it: a low, insistent pulse beneath his ribs, hot and eager, itching to be unleashed.

Roman sparked a tiny controlled explosion in his palm, just a flare. "See that? That's controlled chaos. Now layer your aura over your blood. Let it mend you, let it sharpen you. But control it. You must be the master, not it."

Jaune's hands tingled as golden light seeped along his veins. The pulse beneath his skin throbbed, responsive, alive. Roman clapped. "Good. Now move."

Jaune bolted forward. Each step Roman punctuated with a small detonation beneath his boots, boosting him. Landing hard, Jaune nearly fell, and Roman caught him easily. "Careful, kid. Don't break yourself before you break someone else," Roman teased. "But you're learning fast."

Neo, sitting cross-legged nearby, signed: 'Too fast. He'll outrun you.' Roman laughed. "Let him. Maybe one day he'll save my hide."

By the time the sun dipped below the treeline, Jaune's aura burned gold and red, and the devil's pulse in his blood thrummed with energy. Roman smirked. "Good. Now let's see if you can use that outside a homestead."

The Dust Shop Job – Vale, Late Evening

Rain streaked down the streets, turning the neon signs into liquid fire. Roman, Jaune, and Neo approached From Dust Till Dawn, the faint glow of Roman's cigarette cutting through the mist.

"Easy job," Roman murmured, his grin sharp. "In and out." Jaune's hood was pulled low, golden aura simmering just beneath his skin, the devil's pulse thrumming faintly, eager and restless. Neo gave him a sidelong glance, signaling silently for him to keep cool.

Inside, hired men moved crates, unaware of the storm about to break over them. Roman's grin widened. "Take what I mark. Nothing else. I like my crime curated." Then the bell over the door chimed, and the world shifted.

Ruby Rose stepped inside, humming softly, small and unassuming in the chaos. A merc reached for her, and in the next instant, the shop erupted. Her scythe bloomed like silver petals in a hurricane, each strike precise and impossibly fast. Every merc fell in seconds, some barely registering the motion before they hit the floor.

Jaune froze. She moved like lightning, her aura bright, exact, and alive. His pulse jumped in response, a strange resonance echoing between them. Roman's grin widened, the corners of his mouth twitching in approval. "Now that's art."

Ruby's gaze swept past Roman and his explosions, past Neo's silent presence, and landed on Jaune. Their eyes met, and for the first time, the storm paused, just for a heartbeat.

Ruby's silver eyes widened. She blinked, startled by the sudden heat she felt radiating from the figure half-hidden in the shadows. He seemed ordinary at first glance, but there was something else, something raw, dangerous, and alive coiled beneath the surface.

Jaune's aura flared, gold mixing with red, and the devil's pulse in his blood responded, throbbing insistently under his skin. He felt a pull, like recognition, like some unspoken understanding stretching across the distance between them.

Ruby's breath caught. Her small frame stiffened, yet her eyes lingered, curious and alert. She felt the faint metallic tinge of his blood, glowing faintly from where a scrape from training had drawn it, and it drew her gaze even closer. Her heart beat faster, a flicker of something she couldn't name stirring deep in her chest.

Jaune's pulse matched it, a surge of heat and tension that made him suddenly aware of how small she looked, how precise she moved, and how frighteningly capable she was. He instinctively shifted, lowering his hood just enough for the silver of her gaze to find his, and the world seemed to narrow down to that single, electric connection.

Roman noticed the exchange but simply smirked, lighting another flare beneath his palm. He ignored the subtle flicker of something between the two, content to watch the play unfold while detonating the chaos around him with perfect rhythm.

Ruby's silver eyes lingered, tracing the line of Jaune's jaw, the tension coiling in his posture, the faint pulse beneath his skin she could somehow sense. Her heartbeat echoed in her ears. He wasn't like anyone she'd seen before. Dangerous, yes—but also human, strangely familiar, and compelling in a way she couldn't shake.

Jaune felt the devil's pulse stir in response, a heat that made him aware of her gaze in a way that was simultaneously thrilling and terrifying. He wanted to step forward, to reach out, but the instinct to hide, to stay in the shadows, kept him still.

Roman's explosions flared in the background, detonation after detonation, yet for a moment the chaos dimmed to the edges of Jaune's and Ruby's awareness. Time itself seemed to pause as they simply looked at each other, two souls recognizing something in the other that neither could name aloud.

Then Ruby blinked, shook herself slightly, and lunged forward. She attacked Roman with her scythe, precision slicing through the air, forcing him to dance, flitting between controlled detonations. Jaune stayed in the shadows, his pulse still high, aware that she was more than just another opponent—she was a force he couldn't ignore.

Roman's boots sparked, sending flames and fragments of controlled explosions into the air, and with a final, calculated detonation, the last of the hired men fell. Smoke and dust filled the shop.

Ruby lowered her scythe, chest heaving. Her gaze immediately returned to where Jaune had been, scanning the shadows. Her silver eyes narrowed slightly, intrigued and unsettled. Her lips parted, almost in a whisper, "Who… is he?"

Jaune remained still, hood pulled low again, heart hammering in a rhythm that matched the devil's pulse in his veins. He had no words for her, only the awareness that her eyes, so bright and alive, had seen something in him, and he hadn't been able to hide it.

Roman caught the glance and smirked, shaking his head slightly as if reading a private joke. Neo gave Jaune a subtle nod to move, pulling him toward the door, and the world outside resumed its storming pace, but the spark between Ruby and Jaune lingered, a thread neither of them could forget.

Before the trio could leave, Glynda appeared, aura crackling, crop glowing. "Roman Torchwick!"

He danced between her attacks, explosions flaring around him. She lashed with her crop, smashing into his chest and for the first time, a gash split his coat. Steam hissed as his flesh knit itself back together. Blood bubbled, sizzled, and vanished.

Glynda froze. "Aura… doesn't…"

Roman straightened, smirking. "I told you. I'm built different." Jaune shifted instinctively, devil's pulse thrumming. He could feel the tension of the fight, the danger radiating from both sides, and the thrill it brought out in him.

Roman fired off one last controlled blast and then stepped back. "Enough for tonight," he said, rolling his shoulders. "We move."

Ruby's silver eyes lingered on Jaune, curiosity, admiration, and something softer dancing in her gaze. Jaune felt the pulse beneath his skin spike one last time, a silent promise of more to come.

Like I knew Rooster Teeth wasn't the most ethical company out there but damn. I hope that Sheena gets to have peace in her life.
Rooster Teeth is fairly typical for a YouTube based company. You have a group of friends who hit the lottery when they get popular, the group grows through that friend network and eventually you get some people who are bad. Meanwhile the official leaders and faces of the company have no training in running a business so they don't know how to handle things like a business. Then you add in that these people are going to be good actors and it's very easy, basically inevitable, for a few bad apples to get into positions of power.

That's basically what happened with Channel Awesome, the founder and official leader of the company really just let someone else run it and that person turned out to be a terrible person.

I would like to hear your insight on the best RWBY crossover ship and why it's Jessica x Jaune.
I seriously do not understand how did they nail Jaune and Jessica's relationship that well.

I mean, I do not have much knowledge about Jessica's characterization in the comics but the moments between these two were on point.

Jaune supporting Jessica, him facing his own demons.

No seriously, how did they manage to romance bait us so well that RWBY fandom managed to cajole FFN admins to add Jessica to the RWBY characters list.

Those cunts somehow managed to lock in and the worst part is they locked in for Jaune so we know that Arc Bros are never beating the "Jaune is a self insert character" allegations.

He's not a self insert character. He's the main character. He was the protagonist all along. Miles Luna is too much of a beta male to make a character as compelling as Jaune to be based upon himself. So by sheer fucking accident they made a decent character out of the guy they tried to make look bad. Which says a lot about them, really.

I completely agree with you, except for the Beta Male part which I am hoping is joke, but other than that yeah he is the main character for the most part.
Honestly, Ruby's a good person, but at times it feels like that the series isn't trying to progress with her character, and sometimes even if it does then it goes about it in the negative way.

Like what was the point of establishing Ruby as this never back down leader when she got taken out by a fucking 'Yo Mama' comment by her Arch Nemesis(I don't know what RT is smoking while trying to convince me that it's Cinder who is her Arch Nemesis, while clearly Cinder is Jaune's Arch Nemesis).

Like I am looking at Ruby like, "Babe Lock in, your letting her run your street cred through the mud and the only thing that shouls be running are the fucking bullets in Crescent Rose's chamber by now".

Meanwhile, this honest to god loser while at his lowest against Cinder in V5 was still trying to stand on 10 toes while he was effectively emotionally quadriplegic, did he slip and fall? Yes, but did that lead to an honest to God awesome rising to the occasion moment when he healed Weiss? You bet your house yes.

V9 had its weak moments but it felt really refreshing to see Ruby lock in. Only thing better would have been Ruby establishing the pecking order Popo style among the team but eh, you cannot eat your cake and have it too.

Curse of Jaune. No, seriously, every time they try burying him, they somehow end up showing him in the best light, as if the writers are cursed to always try and fail.

They're incompetent writers. Every time they try to show someone in a certain light they fail (because they suck) and we come away thinking the opposite.

1) Blake - They tried the oppressed minority route. They made a spoiled princess of an island paradise (that is economically better off than one of the Big 4) who runs away from her wholesome family to become Remnant's equivalent of an ISIS Bride, who at least wises up and leaves. But then she spends V3 and V7 guilting Yang, and has no real character arc/development that isn't forgotten a moment later. The Bland Belladonna and Shitty Kitty memes came about for a reason, and she is one of the fucking MAIN CHARACTERS!

2) Cordovin - The sort of person that CRWBY thinks most IRL military officers are. Supposed to be part of their anti-military political pandering message. She gets burglarized, and then rather than trying to spite those who have harmed her, she breaks the confrontation to fight a big fuck off Grimm menacing the city she is supposed to guard. - Comes across as a good person.

3) Robyn - Part one of the 2016 fanfic that we got in place of a seventh season of RWBY. They try to present her as an infallible leader of the people. Instead, she just steals communications equipment from the army, does nothing on screen for the people she's supposedly helping, and when she's not being a millstone, she's trying to make herself the center of every situation in every room she happens to walk into with disastrous results (Qrow-Clover-Tyrian situation). The story itself is worse off in quality for her participation in it and in my own opinion she has outstripped Monaca Towa as their VA's most insufferable character.

(I am prepared to defend that statement, Monaca we hate because she's an awful human being and an asshole. She's an antagonist and a vile one at that, but she is a terrible character in the sense that she is an evil piece of shit who is actively trying to make the world around her as awful a place as she can and that is her role in the story. Robyn is the "why did they even put this character in the show" hate that you don't even waste the energy to swear about on.)

4) Ironwood - Oh boy. What can I say that hasn't been done to death already? To recap they tried to make him seem like an irredeemable fiend from day 1 (being charitable with our interpretation). Instead, he encourages Ruby, is concerned about Yang, fights off robots at great personal risk, gives Yang a new limb, stands up for Weiss, argues with Jacques, is immediately trusting of Ruby and friends, and only snaps after his trust and generosity are betrayed and abused. In sum, a very sympathetic character. Which, referring to V8, had never been CRWBY's intention (because in the minds of CRWBY and the people that they pander to what demographic boxes you tick has more bearing on your morality and worth as a person than the choices you make)

5) Whitley - Meant to be seen as Weiss' great challenge. In reality an unarmed small boy who lost EVERYTHING, and in the course of the volume where he does he: saves Nora, saves Penny, saves EVERYBODY IN FUCKING MANTLE, and carries the show. And yet CRWBY fully expects us to cheer when Weiss puts Myrtnaster to his throat. He should have poisoned that tea, we'd have forgiven him.

6) Ruby & Yang - Operating under appreciable strain she finally snaps and has a breakdown. We're expected to side with Yang who cares more about kissing Bland than helping obviously despondent younger sister that SHE raised as she gaslights her into taking the final step. What we end up with is the fact that Bumblebee is as awful as Bumblebee shippers, and that was why the memes took off. You know the ones.

I could go on but I am writing this under appreciable sleep depravation myself, and am going to remedy that forthwith.

I will finally commit to posting my next Cyber-Whitley idea tomorrow (well later today) unless I get distracted or I forget.

Really, the main reason Jaune is such a good character relative to everyone else is because at its conception it was based on shonen battle animes, like DBZ or Naruto or One Piece (It beat MHA by a year). So a lot of the tropes they borrowed from those shows didn't work so well with female characters but worked just fine with Jaune. And Jaune was given those tropes because, again, from conception the show had pentagonists: Ruby, Weiss, Blake, Yang and JNPR, but JNPR was a Jaune support vehicle while RWBY was not one for Ruby.

I would like to hear your insight on the best RWBY crossover ship and why it's Jessica x Jaune.

Isn't the Justice League/RWBY tie in, the only official crossover?

He's not a self insert character. He's the main character. He was the protagonist all along. Miles Luna is too much of a beta male to make a character as compelling as Jaune to be based upon himself. So by sheer fucking accident they made a decent character out of the guy they tried to make look bad. Which says a lot about them, really.

They literally turned Jaune into the strongest and most experienced Hunter in his peer group, and arguably the most famous Huntsmen on the planet by the end.

I will be unbanned on November 19th from the Spacebattles thread. Amazing, I got banned from my own thread. That's gotta be a record. Anyway, keep the ideas coming and if you want me to threadmark anything when I come back, just indicate it in your posts. A few fun ideas to keep you busy:

- Weiss learns of Blake's fanfiction about everyone they know. Rather than being pissed (though she is), she takes the opportunity to needle and tease Blake about it every chance she gets. Blake is a sad kitty.

- Blake decides that in order to move past her... Well, past, she needs to try to reach across the barriers between humans and Faunus. Being Blake though, she turns it into one of her romance novels.

Blake: "No! You'll never have me, human brute!"
Jaune: "Hwah?"
Blake: "All right! Your animal magnetism was too much for me! You've broken me into your mindless sow!"
Jaune: "HUH?!"
Blake: "... Lunch at this bookshop cafe this Saturday?"
Jaune: "I... Okay?"
Blake: "Good. OH YOU MIGHT HAVE MY BODY, BUT YOU'LL NEVER HAVE MY HEART!"
Jaune: "Oh God I thought it was bad hearing it the first time..."

- More of Team AARN's adventures back in the past! This had to happen at some point:

Nick and Arjun, exhausted, are facing 1000 robotic enemies.
Nick: "Well Arjun, you take the 500 on the right, I'll take the 500 on the left."
Arjun: "Screw you! I'll take 501!"
Nick: "That's the spirit!"
Smashcut to them both held prisoner
Nick: "Wow... I can't believe... They all... Kicked you in the dick."
Arjun: Whimper

- Let's get back to Cowboys of Remnant. What would drive Cowboy!Jaune into a rip roaring rampage of cold, bloody revenge? Ala True Grit, The Great Silence, Django, or Once Upon a Time in the West.

- Arslan loves Aslanmas. She's not some killjoy who hates the commercialization, she loves all aspects of it. So she's gonna get everyone into the Aslanmas Spirit! (But since Arslan is so stoic it is hilariously at odds with her temperament)

Weiss: Not only is your grammar atrocious, you're a historical inaccuracies are borderline revisionist.

Blake decides that in order to move past her... Well, past, she needs to try to reach across the barriers between humans and Faunus. Being Blake though, she turns it into one of her romance novels.
Jaune: Katie was right, Menagerie girls are weird.

Arslan loves Aslanmas. She's not some killjoy who hates the commercialization, she loves all aspects of it. So she's gonna get everyone into the Aslanmas Spirit! (But since Arslan is so stoic it is hilariously at odds with her temperament)
The look on everyone's face when she's skipping down the Halls in a red dress is something she will treasure for years.

Atlas does a experiment on Grimm. Specifically a ship of theseus experiment.

They inject nanites inside a Beowulf meant for healing.

Then they start feeding the Grimm death row prisoners.

The nanites take the raw material the Grimm gives it and begins "healing it" slowly replacing the Grimm flesh with real flesh.

When the Grimm is 100% biological is when things get really weird.

The universe stutters.

Grimm do not have aura, Grimm do not have souls, Grimm do not have true flesh.

This creature does have true flesh. Therefore it can't be a Grimm. Meaning it is missing its soul and aura.

The universe corrects this flaw. And suddenly remnant has a new(?) species on it.

Luckily not inherently hateful to humans.

Ruby: *gasp* "Jaune, you're the Yulefather?!"
Weiss: "It's just a dumb costume, Ruby! Sneaking into our room?! This is a new low, Arc!"
Jaune: *wincing* "Actually, no, I'm not the Yulefather. I just help him out every Aslanmas."
Ruby: *quivering* "Then...prezzies?"
Yang: "Come on Ruby, he's not-"
Jaune: "Um, I'm sorry Ruby, but the only one I have here is for Zwei."
Zwei: *arfs happily*
Ruby: *recoils*
Yang: "Jaune, what the hell?! First you sneak in with this dumb costume, now you...you...ohmigod that reindeer has a red nose..."
Blake: *wide-eyed* "That sleigh outside is flying."
Jaune: "Ooooh, I'm kinda running late; I have this huge pile of coal I need to deliver to some Branwen lady."

At least it isn't as bad as the year Tangy saved Aslanmas. Ruby remembers it as the year she got the high-powered bolt action rifle she used as a base for Crescent Rose v0.1, everyone else just remembers it as the year a bunch of kids caused havoc with weapons of various ordinances.

Tangy: I believe the best gift is a lesson.
Yulefather: But what if they shoot their eye out?
Tangy: Then they'll learn not to do it again.

Guys, How funny would it be if Juniper, Jaune's Jackalope was like an aspect of the Animal God of the Faunus?

Like the Animal god sees that GoD and GoL, have their champions, The Blacksmith is literally too busy holding it all together to do anything so decides that they need a champion too.

Head canon: the reason Remnant is called that is because Ozpin many millennia ago spent his time as a wandering story teller and wise man. He'd tell the tribes that he visited stories of how the world is a Remnant of what it once was. How it was once something greater and more powerful, before it fell to decay and ruin.

And from his stories the people would come to name their home after his words. That they lived in a remnant of what was once whole.

Ruby: *gasp* "Jaune, you're the Yulefather?!"
Weiss: "It's just a dumb costume, Ruby! Sneaking into our room?! This is a new low, Arc!"

Fun fact, Santa wasn't punishing the naughty kids. Because coal pre air conditioning would still be used for heating so Santa is still being kind and saving the kid from freezing to death mid winter.

Twisted Fate New
Here is a small idea.
What if at the after their children died.

Salem and Ozma got different lessons from the event and now their fates are reversed.

Twisted Fate

The air was cold when he woke. It always was.
He drew his first breath with a gasp, his body convulsing as the memories crashed down on him, a thousand voices, a thousand faces. Kingdoms built and broken. Names forgotten. Children born and buried.
And always, her.

The witch!
The monster!!
The woman he could never forget!!!
My love!!!!

Ozma sat up slowly, his new hands trembling. They were small and pale the hands of a young man, perhaps in his twenties. Around him lay the remnants of a modest cabin: a bed of straw, a dying hearth, the smell of herbs and rain. Someone had cared for this body. Someone had loved him.

He hated that.
The curse never let him rest. No matter who he became, no matter where he awoke, they had already suffered before he even opened his eyes. He was born into borrowed lives, doomed to wear the skin of good men until he ruined them.

"Again…" he whispered hoarsely. "Always again
He looked down at his hands. For a moment, faint gold and violet light flickered across his palms, remnants of the gods' gift. Once, that light had brought him purpose. Now it only reminded him of chains.

He rose and stepped outside. The world had changed again. Rolling hills stretched beneath a gray sky, dotted with scattered farms. In the distance, a village lay by a river, its people moving like ants among their fragile walls.

Humanity endured.
It always did.
And always, it forgot.

He could feel it, the cycle of ignorance and rebirth, of war and peace and war again. Each age thought itself wiser than the last, yet every one of them stumbled down the same path, never learning, never changing.

He remembered his children. Their laughter. Their screams. He remembered Salem's face as they died and the look of horror when she saw what she'd become.

For centuries, that memory had sustained him. It had been proof that he could try again.
Now, it was only proof that even the purest love could rot.

He clenched his fists.
"They were right," he muttered to the wind. "The gods were right. Humanity doesn't deserve to be saved."

A whisper stirred in his mind , familiar, poisonous, comforting. It wasn't from the gods. It was from himself. From the part that had stopped believing.
Then stop saving them. He shut his eyes, but the thought wouldn't fade. It pulsed like a heartbeat, slow, insistent.

You've tried. You've bled. You've died. Over and over. And still they suffer. But What if mercy isn't salvation… but silence?

Ozma's breathing quickened. He stared toward the village again, toward the laughing families, the children playing near the water. A warmth welled in his chest that wasn't love, wasn't pity. It was envy.

He turned away before it could grow stronger.
He would not hurt them. Not yet.
Instead, he began to walk — not toward the village, but toward the mountains in the east, where the wind howled through the ruins of an ancient keep. He could feel her there — Salem — distant, faint, but alive.
Still watching.
Still waiting.
He hated her for that.
He loved her for it too.

"If I can't save this world," he murmured, "then I'll shape it myself. No gods. No fate. No endless suffering.

The whisper in his mind smiled.
And to do that… you'll need power.

Ozma's hand brushed against the earth, and his magic flared. The ground shuddered — and something old beneath it stirred in answer. A relic, perhaps. A fragment of the gods' design. He could almost hear it hum, promising him what he'd been denied for lifetimes: control.

For the first time in centuries, Ozma smiled.
Not warmly.
Not kindly.
Just certainly.

Far away, deep within her sanctum beneath the ruined world tree, Salem lifted her head. Her crimson eyes opened, the black veins of her skin glimmering faintly in the light of a pale lantern.

She felt it, the ripple of power, the echo of the man she once loved.

"Ozma…" she whispered.
"Don't do this again

The Grimm around her stirred, uneasy.
And for the first time in a long, long while, she felt afraid.

Salem has trouble letting go and Ozpin coming back made everything worse.

Let's make it suck even more!

When their daughters died Salem panics and tries to tie their souls to her own so they could share her immortality.

She halfway succeeded. She actually ended up tying them to her AND Ozpin.

Unfortunately.

Salems curse means their souls won't pass on until she does and Ozpins curse makes them constantly reincarnate.

But Salem should know by now that fucking around with death gets her punished.

So as a side effect her daughters are destined to die either directly or indirectly by her or ozpins actions every single time.

Salem has trouble letting go and Ozpin coming back made everything worse.

That would brake the two of them even more.

You could do a fic here where the rwby team are the reincarnated daughters but in a twist jaune somehow interferes every time when they are meant to die early before vol 1.
This also leads to jaune becoming their childhood friends and he gets to unlock aura early.
A romantic twist you could add to this is that jaune soul is also reincarnating as well but instead of it being caused of magic or gods.
Its actually the original soul wanting to stay with the four girls after he fell in love with them in one of the many reincarnated lives. Ans so jaune orginal soul forgos going to the afterlife to keep them company

Rockets of Remnant New
The sky over Patch was dark but dotted with beautiful stars, streaked with wisps of clouds. Ruby Rose, future badass Huntress, was working on her beloved Crescent Rose at the kitchen table. Yang Xiao-Long, her older big sister, was watching TV on the couch, lazing around.

There was a roar over the house, and the glass and utensils shook. Ruby yelped, barely catching Crescent Rose before it fell off the table. Yang nearly fell off the couch.

"What the heck?!" Yang shouted.

"Wha-What is-?!" Ruby looked out the window. Her eyes widened in disbelief.

A fiery streak tore through the sky above the house, trailing smoke and bright orange streamers?

"Wha-?!"

Ruby practically flew to the window and watched the thing slow down and hit the Earth somewhere beyond the trees. Yang soon joined her, looking over her shoulder into the night.

"Holy… Do you think it's an airship that went down?!" Ruby gasped.

"Let's go find out!" Yang declared. "Come on!"

They raced outside to the garage, and mounted Yang's trusty motorcycle, Bumblebee. Ruby clung to Yang's back as her older sister raced off at high speed. Ruby winced, but managed to look over her shoulder. Smoke rose from behind the trees. Ruby bit her lower lip.

"You stay behind me, okay?" Yang ordered loudly, "Don't do anything without my say so! Got it?"

"G-Got it!" Ruby nodded, her heart pounding in her ears.

They went past the trees and the local lake came into view. And so did whatever had landed. There was a small crater of dug up mud and sand from the shore of the lake… And a shiny capsule covered in bright glowing lights with orange parachutes streaming from the top and lying around it.

"Holy," Yang whispered as she came to a stop several meters from the object. Ruby got off at the same time as Yang, both their eyes wide.

"It… What is it?" Ruby whispered. Yang shook her head.

"Doesn't look like any airship I've ever seen," she murmured. She made a face. "Ugh… Smells like it's still on fire."

Ruby gaped. She pulled out her Scroll and flipped through several of her comics. She selected one and held up her Scroll.

"It looks like…"

Yang stared at the image of a saucer shaped craft with lots of lights on the screen, from which several gray aliens emerged. Yang looked over at the capsule. She slowly shook her head.

"No way," Yang whispered. "It can't be-!"

A hatch on the side of the capsule slowly opened, rising up. Yang immediately put Ruby behind her, and lifted Ember Celica. Ruby could see the fear on Yang's face, but she tried to hide it behind a fearsome glare. Ruby looked back at the capsule… And someone emerged.

It looked humanoid, tall and male, his skintight spacesuit glinting silver, hugging every muscle that looked earned from years of hard work. Its golden visor helmet obscured its face, reflecting the stunned expressions of Yang and Ruby Xiao Long, who stood frozen on the shore, their weapons half-raised.

The figure approached them slowly, stepping unsteadily on the soggy shore. He… It? Came to a stop in front of them, and seemed to stare.

Yang tensed, but Ruby quickly shook her head.

"No! No, don't attack it!" Ruby hissed. "We might cause an interstellar war!"

"I… If it's an alien, why does it look so… Hot?" Yang whispered, her eyes tracing the masculine form.

"Maybe they're hot alien guys!" Ruby whispered. "Either way, don't hit him!"

The figure stared, and raised its hands up.

Yang, her blonde hair waving in the light breeze, shoved Ruby behind her, her lilac eyes narrowing.

"Did… Are you from space?" Yang called out.

Ruby, peeking out, her silver eyes wide with awe, clutched Crescent Rose's handle.

"Do you come in peace?!" She demanded.

The thing grasped its helmet… And pulled it off with a loud pop. It revealed a handsome, exhausted looking young man with messy blond hair and bright blue eyes, who was panting for breath. Yang and Ruby's eyes went wide.

"Yes… And yes." The young man said. He raised his gloved hands, stepping forward. "I'm Jaune Arc. And I'm-"

A taller blonde man with a five o'clock shadow dashed in behind Jaune, holding a shovel. A loud THWACK cut Jaune off as said shovel connected with the back of his head, dropping him like a sack of potatoes. Yang and Ruby gasped, their voices a unified shriek.

"DAD!"

Taiyang Xiao Long stood over Jaune's crumpled form, his blonde hair mussed, his shovel raised like a warrior's blade, his eyes blazing with fatherly fury.

"NO SPACE CASANOVA IS IMPREGNATING MY GIRLS!" he roared, his aura flaring. Yang's jaw dropped, her voice a mix of shock and exasperation.

"Dad, what the hell?!"

Ruby flailed, her cloak flapping.

"He said he comes in peace! You can't just knock out an alien!"

"I just did!" Taiyang snapped, pointing the shovel at the prone figure. "He's some slick space pretty-boy trying to charm my daughters! I know his type!"

Jaune groaned as he looked up, one hand clutching his head.

"I'm… not… a Casanova… Or an alien…" He looked up, his blue eyes now dazed and slightly cross-eyed as he mumbled, "I'm… Jaune Arc… Aunt Obertha… launched me… Into space… And I missed my landing point…" He passed out.

"We gotta help him, Dad!" Ruby cried, dashing to Jaune's side.

"Seriously! I'm not starting an interstellar war!" Yang shouted, on Jaune's other side. "Come on! Let's get him to the hospital!"

Taiyang sighed.

"Fine! But if he gets you space pregnant, he's marrying you!"

"DAD!" Yang and Ruby squeaked, turning bright red. They both looked at the young man's handsome features… And blushed harder.

"Well… Maybe he's a Space Prince? That might be cool," Ruby offered.

"To be a Space Princess!" Yang declared, "Let's go!"

Taiyang shook his head as Yang and Ruby rushed to Bumblebee, and argued over how they would arrange the young man. The older man frowned.

"Jaune Arc? Why is that familiar…?"

His Scroll went off. He answered it.

"Hello?"

"Tai!" A woman's breathless voice shouted. Taiyang blinked.

"Isabel? Isabel Arc?!"

"Yes! Look, it's a long story, but Aunt Obertha has a space program and she got Jaune to agree to be her guinea pig and she launched him into space and he GOT into space-"

"He did?!" Taiyang gasped.

"Yes yes, I'm very proud!" Isabel said.

"We're very proud!" Nick Arc, Isabel's husband and Jaune's father, shouted happily in the background.

"But he went off course after re-entry and landed in Patch! Can you help find him?! Can you help him?!"

Taiyang slowly looked at the young man he had knocked unconscious, still being fought over by his daughters. He coughed.

"Ah, well… Good news, we found him. He landed safely."

"Oh thank the Breaker! Is he okay?!" Isabel cried.

Taiyang again looked at the unconscious young man being fought over by his daughters. The poor boy was now lying on the ground as Ruby and Yang shouted at eachother

"I'll get back to you, Isabel."

"What?!"
