SALLY not SALLY (a broken SI in the Archie Sonic setting)

I remember Antoine getting a lot of hate, both by fans and a bit by the comic itself - at least in the early comics I kept up with a while ago.

But his flaws were... kinda reasonable? I didn't like his initial misplaced arrogance, but he was a trained fighter among, well, lots of exceptional people. I got the feeling he was used to being the best, and was having issues suddenly being one of the least useful members.

And then I have a vague memory of him "manning up" and getting a whole lot cooler. Making himself better instead of trying to prove himself.

I really need to track down Archie comics again. It's been more than ten years, I think.
Check out grabber.zone, they have all the comics, even the special releases up till now. With stuff like the Fortnite crossover comic and the journal of Gerald Robotnik from Shadow Generations.

Suggestion:
"You'll get used to it, Dahling. "You'll be fine."
There are three quotation marks on one line. I am almost certain that this is wrong, but I don't know which fix specifically you'd want. Removing the middle one? Adding a fourth and a line break so the first reassurance is from Edna and the second from Sally?

I hope Rosie figures out a way to deal with feeling cooped up in some way. Would she feel better if her guards openly traveled with her and were effectively just hanging out with her while paying attention to their surroundings and being armed?

Mainly replying since I've been doing the same, but if you want to find an easy option, I've been reading all the comics on the Grabber Zone. Srsly, it's a godsend for finding details or minor characters. Just make sure to have the wiki open in another window, if you're looking for where characters specifically show up.

Edit: Got Ninja'd by Zoruatrainer, but keeping it up since they haven't linked the website yet.

Heavy is the Crown that Wears the Pants... New
Sally does, in fact, wear pants. She considers them part of her duty uniform for her position in the current government of the Republic of Acorn.

She's also wearing the actual Crown of Acorn, not the dinky little decorative circlet her mother wore as queen, nor the very same circlet from the 35 years in the future stories where either Sonic or Shadow wear the Crown of Acorn instead.

Anyway, this outfit is based on the outfits that Max and Elias wore when they were kings. Which is why Sally chose to have hers made along the same lines.

Also, she can fight in this outfit. If she wore a dress, she'd have to figure out how to fight in it.

Well, that or figure out how to get out of it very quickly.
Practically, in universe? Yeah, having a velcro seam or something for easy disrobing would be practical and probably not have any propriety issues. I think any Sonic character should have formal wear have similar features.

Comic-wise, Sally's design was already pushing it and taking off clothes is sexier to humans than an anthropomorphic animal using fur as clothes.

I'd imagine it'd be pretty simple to have a dress with the skirt part easily detachable to turn what's left into a leotard, kind of like how Bowsette is depicted.

Buttons or clasps would be more practical, but we know the universe would force the dramatic tear-off-the-lower-half-of-the-dress sequence when shit goes down.

The Council of Acorn New
The COUNCIL of ACORN

counsil_of_acorn_by_tangent_rambles_dn55skj-fullview.jpg

From left to right: Dylan the Porcupine; Hamlin the Pig; Penelope the Platypus, Rosemary Prower; Rotor the Walrus; and Sir Charles Hedgehog.

  • Dylan the Porcupine - Former Substitute Freedom Fighter. Dylan takes the position fairly seriously but has a tendency to vote with Hamlin and Penelope if they both agree on something. He is against anything that he feels to be military overreach that might put civilians at risk.
  • Hamlin the Pig - Former Substitute Freedom Fighter. While Hamlin does firmly believe in serving the best interests of the republic of Acorn, he still bears some resentment towards his team apparently being forgotten about so often. This sometimes leads to him being somewhat of an obstructionist to policies he feels are unfair (or that he knows very little about). He's not a bad guy, but he can be very petty.
  • Penelope the Platypus - Former Substitute Freedom Fighter. Penelope takes her position very seriously. While she shares some of Hamlin's bitterness about having been sidelined so often, she'd rather the Freedom Fighters be free to do their thing than be tied up in politics so much that they end up not doing anything. In canon, Penelope was the Counsil member Naugus most often used mind control on to sway votes the way he wanted them to go, because he noted that Hamlin tended to vote against House Acorn and the Freedom Fighters and that Dylan would vote with Hamlin and Penelope if they voted the same way. This gave Naugus an almost guaranteed 50% voting bloc on most issues as long as he could phrase things to involve house Acorn or the Freedom Fighters in some manner.
  • Rosemary Prower - Rosemary, along with her husband, General Amadeus Prower, is one of the few people in the Republic of Acorn that has even seen a Republic in action. And that was as a refugee and as a nonparticipating observer. So... Representatives discuss and vote on decisions and it somehow works. That is literally the extent of the knowledge that she and Amadeus brought back from space! Amadeus might have actually picked up more, as he was a General and probably observed more details, but he's currently in jail for attempting to throw a coup.
  • Rotor the Walrus - Former Freedom Fighter. Rotor is a staunch supporter of Sally, the Freedom Fighters, and the people of Acorn. Not so much House Acorn in general, but definitely Sally. In canon, he ended up leaving the Council when the majority voted against rescuing Princess Sally Acorn after she had been converted into Metal Sally.
  • Sir Charles Hedgehog (Uncle Chuck) - Knight of the old Kingdom of Acorn and former Robian. Joined the Counsil of Acorn out of a sense of duty and an even greater sense of guilt.

"Counsil" is a new one to me. I am only familiar with it being spelled "Council". Is that correct in your dialect?

Their clothing is so boring! At least there's a colorful jacket, but they're all wearing essentially the same things, just sized for them. Were they extremely limited in what dyes they had available, or did they just have a very limited definition of "professional attire" or whatever?

I'm actually sort of following what the Council of Acorn did in the comics: While they were on duty, especially if they were expected to be in session, they all wore the same general outfit even if they had other clothing preferences. I think they chose to do this to help promote their legitimacy in the eyes of the public, because the switch from kingdom to republic had only just barely won over public support, and their growing pains due to not actually knowing how to run a republic type government wasn't helping matters on that front.

It may be happening mostly in the background, and Rosie is doing her best to ignore it, but Acorn as a nation is still in the midst of a political upheaval and everything is still basically a mess as they figure things out. Right now they are operating as a sort of hybrid state, with a Royal House serving as an executive branch, the Council serving as the legislative branch, and a grand total of just two kangaroos (Hip and Hop) serving as a brand-new judicial branch. The charter and the constitution are still being worked out.

A pretender to the Throne of Acorn had just been dealt with - and the fact that Naugus had been able to make any claim at all seem acceptable was not a good sign for the image of the Counsil as a legitimate political body.

And, to top it all off, Eggman is on the lose again.

An "official" duty uniform is basically a social patch. It looks old fashioned to evoke a sense of tradition and weight of history that isn't really there.
