Interludes about side-characters reacting to the main plot are always so much fun to read.
I wanted to actually do a more PHO style of reaction, but I don't think it would work all that well since, as another reader pointed out, communications are largely bound to each city; hence the need for Messengers.

I really tried to do it that way, hence Click's livestream chat, but I found it really difficult since those are built in a certain format so it's hard for me.

Hm. I mean, a forum could still work as long as its city-wide at most. Packet ship delays would make multi-city networks impossible apart from some rare circumstances where they are gathered together close enough for large antennae to link their networks together.

Speaking of which, I found on AO3 a very interesting 5-part series of in-universe documents focused on landships and mobile cities translated by a guy called Beryoza which I find extremely interesting.

Omake: Kuroinu

The interior of the cart had been transformed into a makeshift fortress.

Chairs were stacked against the door, shutters were locked tight on every window, and a large handwritten sign reading "No Shirts, No PANTS, No Shoes, NO SERVICE!!!!" hung outside with aggressive determination. Arno sat at the small table inside, quietly reading a book while occasionally glancing toward the barricaded entrance. He had not been allowed to step foot outside since they arrived in this world.

Niko, meanwhile, was on high alert. She stood on a stool, peering through the tiniest possible crack in one of the shutters like a soldier on watch duty. Gudako sat nearby on the edge of her bed, looking equally nervous but ready to support her friend.

"I still can't believe this place," Niko muttered, her ears twitching with irritation. "I hate it here. I really, really do."

Arno spoke, idly turning a page. "It can't be that bad, Niko."

"It is that bad, Arno." Gudako piped up, having scene the cause for concern earlier.

"Why? What did you see? Was there a monster in a bikini or something?" Arno joked.

"Eh…" Gudako rubbed her head as she recalled the earlier events.

It had started innocently enough just a few hours earlier.

The cart had come to a stop, and Niko had been the first one out, practically vibrating with excitement about exploring a brand-new world.

"New place! New food! New everything!" she had cheered, running a few steps ahead while Arno stepped out behind her. Gudako had followed while taking in her new surroundings, staying close to Niko's side.

That was when Niko saw her.

A female knight stood not far away, patrolling the road with confident strides. Her armor was scandalously minimal — little more than decorative metal pieces connected by straps, leaving most of her body exposed. The knight's posture was proud and powerful, but the sheer lack of actual coverage made Niko's brain short-circuit.

"Halt! You there! Who are you, and why–?!" The supposed knight hollered, but didn't get to finish.

Niko had frozen on the spot for half a second before letting out a blood-curdling shriek.

"ARNO! DON'T COME OUT HERE! T-THERE'S A PERVERT OUTSIDE!!!"

"A PERVERT?! WHERE!?" The knight (the aforementioned pervert) screamed as she whirled around, trying to find who Niko was talking about.

Niko had turned and sprinted back into the cart so fast that her feet barely touched the ground. The door slammed shut behind her with a deafening bang. Before Arno could even react, every shutter on the cart slammed closed. Locks clicked frantically from inside.

A few moments later, one shutter opened just wide enough for a small hand to hang a hastily scrawled sign.

"No Shirts, No
PANTS, No Shoes, NO SERVICE!!!!"

Arno (who was finishing his lunch) was about to go outside to meet the first customer before his head was promptly grabbed by Gudako, and forced into her chest to prevent him from looking outside while dragging him to the bed. Since then, Niko had declared him officially banned from leaving the cart "for his own protection."

Back in the present, Niko continued her vigil at the window, her expression one of deep disapproval.

"I still see them out there," she whispered harshly. "Another one just walked by. How do they fight like that? How do they MOVE like that? That's not armor, that's… underwear with metal bits glued on! It's indecent!"

Gudako gave a small, sympathetic nod and hugged her pillow tighter. She had only gone outside twice with Niko since the incident — both times to do some recon — and had returned looking even more timid than usual, for a reason that had nothing to do with her Beast nature.

Arno set his book down and leaned back in his chair. "Niko, we can't stay locked in here forever. The cart might need—"

"No," Niko cut him off firmly, not even turning around. "You are staying inside. This world… it's so WEIRD! What if one of those girls trip and fall? Won't their butt and boobs be shown to everyone?!."

She adjusted the shutter slightly, peeking out again before quickly closing it. "This place is full of perverts. If the women are walking around like that in public, then what about the guys? I hate it here. I really, really hate it here."

Gudako let out a soft agreeing hum and offered Niko a can of juice as emotional support. Niko took it gratefully and continued her rant while sipping.

"It's…really weird, Arno." Gudako said as she had some chocolate. She sat herself on his lap as he stroked her horns, much to her delight. "And I've been around some of the Servants back home. This…this is just something else. At least my Servants had common decency to dress better when around others."

"Back home, knights wore these big, heavy armor plates and helmets. Real armor that can make you look like a tank! Not… not whatever this is supposed to be. I feel like I need to dress up in more clothes, for their sake."

Arno couldn't help but smile faintly, though he kept his tone gentle. "Alright. I'll stay inside for now. Just let me know if you and Gudako need help with anything."

Niko nodded seriously, still standing guard. "We'll handle it. Gudako and I will go out together if we need more supplies. But you stay right there where it's safe and normal."

She hopped down from the stool for a moment, only to drag another small box over to reinforce the barricade. "This world is weird and sticky and wrong. The second the cart lets us leave, we're gone. No discussions."

Gudako gave another quiet nod of solidarity, clearly just as uncomfortable with the atmosphere outside.

Niko continued her vigilant watch from the stool, ears twitching at every sound from outside. Gudako sat close by, occasionally handing her friend snacks or juice as moral support. Arno had given up trying to reason with them for the moment and returned to his book, though he kept one eye on the barricaded door.

Suddenly, Niko stiffened.

"More of them are coming," she whispered. "And they look important. Oh no…"

Outside, three female knights had gathered near the cart. After several failed attempts to get a response, one of them spoke to someone who had a winged helmet on.

"Commander Claudia? We have a strange situation here. There's a merchant cart that appeared out of nowhere. The occupants have barricaded themselves inside and hung a very… aggressive sign. They're refusing to open up and surrender themselves for inspection. You should probably see this."

The moment her commanding presence approached, Niko's eyes widened in horror. Claudia's armor followed the same regional style as the others — highly ornate yet extremely revealing, with strategic metal plates that seemed to prioritize showing off her figure than actually doing something useful.

Arno, hearing the new voices, stood up from his chair. "Maybe I should talk to them. They sound like actual authorities—"

He stepped toward the shutters and reached out to open one.

Before his fingers could touch the latch, Gudako's long, powerful tail whipped out with surprising speed. It wrapped firmly around Arno's waist, yanked him backward, and gently deposited him back into his chair.

"Go to sleep, Master. We can do this."

She then placed a soft hand on his forehead. A soothing, calming wave of energy washed over him, and Arno's eyes fluttered shut as he slumped peacefully into a forced nap.

"Good work, Gudako," Niko said approvingly without taking her eyes off the crack in the shutter.

Niko pushed the shutter open just a sliver, glaring fiercely at the group outside.

"Go away!" she shouted. "Perverts aren't allowed near our cart! We're closed!"

Claudia raised an elegant eyebrow, looking both mildly insulted and thoroughly entertained. She placed one hand on her hip, her revealing armor shifting with the motion.

"Perverts?" she repeated, her voice carrying clear amusement. "Little one, that is quite the accusation. I am Commander Claudia of the Knight Order. We are simply here to investigate a suspicious vehicle that appeared without warning. How exactly am I a pervert?"

Niko shoved the shutter open a bit wider and pointed an accusatory finger directly at Claudia.

"Look at that!" she yelled. "That's not armor! That's shiny underwear with fancy metal decorations! Your chest is basically out! Your stomach too! How do you even fight like that?! All of you are walking around half-naked! You're all perverts!"

The knights behind Claudia stared in stunned silence. Claudia herself blinked once, then let out a rich, hearty laugh, clearly more amused than offended by the tiny girl's outrage.

"This armor is built for speed and efficiency," Claudia explained patiently, as if reasoning with a confused child. "Heavy plate would only slow us down during battle. I'm not sure you understand, girl, but we need to dress like this to protect you from monsters!"

Claudia then dropped the bomb.

"Besides, all knights in Eostia dress like this. It is completely normal. I doubt you would find someone wearing something like a slab of metal on their chest and keep up with us." the Pervert Knight Captain said proudly, as if she's the reason why her fellow knights are like this.

Niko's face turned bright red with righteous fury.

"Normal?!" she screamed at the top of her lungs. "This is not normal! This is disgusting! I refuse to serve people like that! Go away! All of you! We're not opening the cart for people who fight in their panties! Leave right now!"

She slammed the shutter shut with all her strength, making the entire cart rattle.

From outside, Claudia's amused voice could still be heard clearly.

"Well, this is certainly new. I have been called many things during my service, but never a 'freak in panties' by a child. Normally, it would be the young boys looking at us in awe. How fascinating."

(AN: Lady, I'm pretty sure they are looking at you in many things BUT awe.)

One of the other knights chuckled. "Commander, should we… insist?"

"No," Claudia replied, still sounding entertained. "Let them be. The cart does not seem hostile, merely… extremely naive. Still, I am quite curious now. Who exactly is inside there that they feel the need to barricade themselves so thoroughly from the outside world?"

Niko dragged another heavy box over to reinforce the barricade, breathing heavily from indignation. "Did you hear that? She thinks it's normal! This whole world is completely broken! I want to leave right now!"

Gudako nodded vigorously and handed Niko another can, ready to defend the cart's honor. Arno remained fast asleep in his chair, blissfully unaware of the escalating moral standoff happening just outside.

Niko climbed back onto her lookout stool and resumed glaring through the tiny crack. Commander Claudia and her knights lingered nearby, clearly intrigued by the strange, moralistic little merchant cart that had suddenly appeared in their territory.

The situation outside remained tense but strangely lighthearted, with no immediate signs that the cart's defenders were willing to open up anytime soon.

Meanwhile, in the Fort City of Ken

Deep within the grand chambers of the Holy Queen's palace, Celestine Lucross sat at the edge of her ornate bed, holding her head in both hands. The elegant High Elf Queen — renowned across the continent for her unmatched beauty, wisdom, and grace — was currently flushed bright red from the tips of her long pointed ears all the way down to her elegant neck.

Her usual dignified composure had completely collapsed.

Luu-Luu, her small, dwarf friend and fellow Princess Knight was carrying a tea set. The moment she saw Celestine's state, she nearly dropped everything.

"Celestine?! What's wrong?!" Luu-Luu exclaimed, rushing over and setting the tray down with a clatter. "Your face is so red! Are you sick? Did someone poison you? Do I need to call the healers?!"

Celestine let out a long, miserable groan, covering her face completely with her hands. Her golden hair spilled messily over her shoulders, a rare sign of distress.

"I appear to have… greatly appalled someone of great importance," she muttered, voice muffled by her palms.

Luu-Luu tilted her head, ears perking up with curiosity. "Eh? Who? One of the allied lords? A dragon? Wait, was it Maia? You know, she won't ever let you live it down if it was her, right?"

Celestine slowly lowered her hands, revealing a deeply embarrassed expression that looked completely out of place on the Holy Queen's face.

"No…" she groaned, dragging the word out in shame. "I seem to have shamefully embarrassed our entire alliance… to the Sun God and his Messiah."

A long silence filled the chamber.

Luu-Luu blinked once. Twice. Then her eyes went wide as dinner plates.

"THE SUN GOD?!" she squeaked. "And his MESSIAH?! How?! What did you do?! Did you accidentally send them a naughty painting?! Did you invite them to one of our 'welcome festivals' without warning them about the traditional clothing policy?!"

Celestine slumped forward, burying her face in her hands again. Her ears burned an even deeper shade of crimson.

"I received a vision from Luxio-sama about what Commander Claudia is doing just now," she said, voice filled with mortification. "A mysterious merchant cart appeared near the eastern road. When our knights approached to greet them… the child inside took one look at our knights and declared them all perverts. She called our sacred battle armor 'shiny underwear' and slammed the shutters in their faces. She even hung a sign refusing service to anyone not fully clothed."

Luu-Luu stared at her for a long moment… then burst into high-pitched laughter, nearly falling over.

"Pffffft—! Shiny underwear?! She really said that?! To CLAUDIA of all people?!"

"It gets worse," Celestine whimpered, peeking through her fingers. "The child referred to our entire knightly order as 'freaks who fight in their panties.' She refused to open the cart for anyone dressed in 'indecent' armor. And I have reason to believe… the one they call the Messiah was the one screaming at Claudia."

Luu-Luu was now clutching her stomach, tears of laughter forming in her eyes. "The Messiah thinks we're all perverts! The Sun God's own chosen saw our elite knights and decided we're shameless! This is the funniest thing I've heard all year!"

Celestine shot her friend a betrayed look, though her flushed cheeks ruined the effect. "This is not funny, Luu-Luu! We have spent years building an alliance under the banner of the gods to protect this continent. And now the very Messiah we should be honoring has barricaded themselves inside a cart and labeled us all immoral! What if they tell the Sun God we are a nation of exhibitionists?!"

Luu-Luu wiped tears from her eyes, still giggling. "But Celestine… our armor is pretty revealing. I mean, you designed some of it yourself for maximum mobility and—"

"Don't remind me!" Celestine wailed, dramatically flopping backward onto her bed and covering her face with a pillow. "I thought it was elegant and practical! Can you imagine my surprise when Luxio-sama had to pull me aside in my dreams to tell me that we look like harem members?!!"

Luu-Luu climbed onto the bed beside her, still snickering. "So what are you going to do? Send them proper robes? Apologize? Ask them nicely to ignore our traditional battle fashion?"

Celestine let out another long, suffering groan from beneath the pillow.

"I don't know… But we cannot afford to make this worse. The Sun God and his Messiah are clearly… very traditional. Extremely traditional. Possibly the most traditional beings we have ever encountered."

She slowly sat up, still flushed with embarrassment.

"And the worst part is… the child sounded genuinely traumatized. I fear we may have scarred the Messiah for life on our very first impression."

Luu-Luu patted her friend's shoulder, barely holding back more laughter.

"Well… at least they haven't left yet. Maybe we can still fix this. Though I have to admit — I really want to meet the girl had the hutzpah to call us those things."

Celestine buried her face in her hands once more, letting out a quiet, dignified wail of shame that echoed through the royal chambers.

Meanwhile, another panicked figure burst into her chambers.

"CELESTINE-SAMA! Why am I getting a missive from Luxio-sama and Amaterasu-sama about the indecency of our esteemed knights?!" Kaguya said.

This time, both dwarf and elf groaned.

This was going to be a very long week.

AN: I would absolutely LOVE to paste pictures in here of the new characters of this crossover, but I'm pretty sure everyone and their mothers know who these supposed knights are; as well as why I cannot do that.

Ok...that was really annoying. Especially what Arno's companions did.

Dude's a merchant. So long as the customer pays and doesn't make a nuisance of themselves during transaction, it doesn't matter what they wear.

They literally cost him business for stupid reasons. If they can't be mature enough to just 'smile and wave' while getting more funds and resources, then they should fuck off back into the cart and let Arno handle things.

No, I can't do that because this is posted on the SFW part of the site. I don't want it to get taken down for putting a pinky on the line.
Wait, was this story moved to the SFW section? Thought this story was at first accidentally put in the NSFW section, but since it gained traction, you OP said it would be staying on the NSFW side despite being mostly all SFW, cause they did not want to "start over again"?

Did a mod help migrate everything to the SFW side? Otherwise, no pinky crossing whatsoever even if you go down deep past the line.

It's easy to forget that QQ has a SFW section. Honestly, I don't even browse the SFW section so I don't know how I got here in the first place...

That's fair. I think you got here at some ppint because this story was originally in the NSFW section. I posted it there by mistake since that's the side I also usually frequent.

Yeah, a mod helped. That's how the likes and comments stayed.

Nah. I find it funny. Besides, let's say it's like this: Niko doesn't know what's going on or who these people are, but Gudako does. So she's going along like this because she'd also rather be in any other place than Eostia. She's not saying anything because Niko is 12.

Also, I'm not sure if it's lore accurate, but I'm pretty sure that Kuroinu is set in a matriarchal society wherein men are seen as second-class citizens before Vault flipped the table over the whole continent. I'd say it's for the best that the girls handle this.

Ay, a fellow guin fan! Does that mean your using grandpa doc? Also, this chapter was great.
Unfortunately, I can't use Aldrino Sr. because of how GuinGuin Arknights changes canon completely. Like, you know, the destruction of Reunion at Chernobog? Also, the crossover of that verse ties in to Girls Frontline and Uma Musume so it's kind of a mess timeline wise.

Potential Lemon New
Fun fact. Did you guys know that I actually had a lemon scene in mind for Arno and Gudako? I actually wrote it quite a while ago while I was tinkering with the Beast Gudako concept.

I have it in it's infant state where the intimacy starts with kisses, but I ultimately ditched it because I felt it was no good. Not only that, but I don't think Arno would find it okay to "take advantage" of the recovering redhead. It was supposed to be a mixture of Gudako's carnal desires and enhanced libido due to mana transfering with her servants.

In all honesty, i imagine Arno would take one look at them, close the cart, and open the next day with an assortment of actual clothes and armor and not fetish wear.
They'd just reject it. Because?

It's a hentai world. Bras, panties, pants for women that don't cling to their asses like bubble wrap? Yeah.

They don't do that there.

Niko will be so mad at these perverts she used her (nonexisting) messiah powers to change the genre

Lol ngl that world is genuily disgusting like most hentai worlds literally the women are basically a bunch of traitors only loyal to the fattest cock like whore you cant trust half of an entire species and most men are pdiddy dudes so you cant trust them

Genuily worlds like that should be burned down

Chapter 21 New

On the Road

One full week had passed since Arno, Niko, and Gudako departed from Lungmen. The journey had proven remarkably smooth, thanks in large part to the cart's extraordinary capabilities. When traveling between major regions, the vehicle has apparently been capable of reaching speeds of up to two hundred miles per hour while maintaining perfect stability. Combined with its advanced cloaking system, which rendered the cart nearly invisible to both ordinary eyes and most forms of detection, they had avoided any unwanted encounters with raiders, monsters, or opportunistic warlords along the route.

They've even been able to avoid most of the Ursus border patrols.

We don't talk about what happened with the Emperor's Blade. Niko was still guilty about how it went down, even when comforted by Gudako and Arno..

The landscape outside blurred past in streaks of green and brown as the cart maintained a steady high speed toward Siesta. Inside, the atmosphere remained comfortable and calm. Niko was currently resting on the couch after an energetic morning of organizing and delivering more food for the Penguin Pantry, her small body curled up with a book still resting on her lap.

She and Arno went in to help the PL crew with how much publicity the branch shop has gotten. Now that the customers have seen their faces on Click's livestream and Sora's socials, the old regular customers have come back in droves as well. It came to the point that Arno had to establish a cutoff time and reserve slots in between certain hours to avoid overcrowding.

(Unbeknownst to him, Emperor was in his office getting ready to start flipping furniture over with how much paperwork he was getting. Apparently, some of the people who were interested in "collabing" with Arno have also figured out that the cart dipped out, and that he has gotten a new type of partnership with Penguin. Bison [who was the only one of the crew with the corporate know-how to help the Boss] was trying to hold him down and stop him from setting things on fire out of spite.)

With Emperor's knowledge on the black side of the market, the shadier groups were immediately rejected and trashed. Said groups cannot even turn to coercion due to the rampant arrests done by the LGD War Machine (Swire had already thrown the table as more and more of the sheepish interns at the station delivered the reports) and by the LYEA bringing more corrupt businesses to light.

Arno sat at the modest dining table, reviewing their travel route on a map. Across him sat Gudako. The young Beast girl had grown noticeably more relaxed in recent days. Zelretch even came back the other day to explain that the ring was meant for Gudako and not him, as he still fell for the compulsions at times without Niko snapping him out of it. He still remembered how sore his ear was after Niko yanked it (and him) away from the bedroom in which Gudako was changing clothes.

He was still extremely guilty about that, even after Gudako profusely apologized for not being careful and walking around in a towel.

As of now, they were in deep discussion about Gudako's past.

"The early days in Chaldea were very chaotic," Gudako said softly, her golden eyes focused on Arno. She was nursing a bottle of iced tea as they talked. "I was suddenly summoned as a Master with almost no preparation and barely even any introduction into the Moonlit World. I had merely accompanied my younger brother in donating blood one day as he was afraid of needles. You could imagine our surprise when we were emailed a week later for a job opportunity in Antarctica of all places."

Arno listened while he was preparing some more drinks. He and Niko had grown genuinely curious about her past, especially since she had begun opening up and speaking about it more freely.

"Wow. So it was just like that, huh?," Niko replied, she had moved to the dining table as her curiosity peaked. "Wasn't it scary? Getting thrown into World F just like that?"

"Singularity F." Gudako corrected, tail swayed gently behind her as she continued. "We didn't have much choice since the world was at stake. There were times when it was scary because as strong as the Servants are, most couldn't be in all places at once; forcing my brother and I to have to fight sometimes."

"Wait, 'most of the time'? How'd that work?"

"We had this Assassin Servant called the Hassan of the Hundred Faces. She can basically use Shadow Clones to be everywhere at once. We also had a Rider Servant named Ushiwakamaru who could essentially teleport."

Niko had stars in her eyes as she imagined those "ninjas" from that Naruto series that she's been reading lately.

'Ninjas' Arno mentally snorted as he poured some juice for his wards. 'Those aren't ninjas, they're just mages with extra steps. Rock Lee; now THAT'S a proper ninja right there! Well, Tenten too, but who cares about her?'

"So did you learn some magic stuff from those Servants?" Niko asked. "Ooh, did some of them have laser beams or water bend or something?"

"Many Servants answered my call over time, many of which seemed to come in many shapes, sizes, and powers. A demigod named Karna used to spam his laserbeams because of something he read from a comic book when he arrived. You can imagine everyone's surprise when King Arthur came in more than 7 different flavors."

"King Arthur? Wasn't he a story book guy?" Niko tilted her head at that, prompting Gudako to rub her head and neck, making Niko bat her hands away.

Gudako chuckled as she recalled EMIYA having to almost work himself to death in the kitchen just to keep up with all of the Saberfaces.

She had to eventually use a Command Seal to get him to leave the kitchen while Ritsuka ordered Ishtar and Parvati to keep an eye on him.

"'Every story book, poem, and even artwork contains a grain of truth in how they were conceived'.That's a lesson that was taught to me by my boss Romani when my brother and I started summoning more iconic and mysterious servants. Imagine my surprise when I met Frankenstein and Robin Hood for the first time."

"Whoaaa…."

Arno leaned forward slightly, resting his elbows on the table. "Who was your favorite Servant, then? If you had to choose one."

Gudako's expression softened. A small, fond smile appeared on her lips as she recalled the memory.

"That would be Blackbeard," she answered without hesitation. "Edward Teach. He was the first Servant to answer my summons during Singularity F. At the time, we desperately needed reinforcements because of how outnumbered and alone we were. I was scared and overwhelmed, but he appeared and immediately started calling me 'Master' with that loud, ridiculous laugh of his. He was crude, perverted, and completely shameless when it came to girls (and even some guys)… but he was also fun, quirky, and fiercely loyal to his friends. He protected me when I had no one else. Even though he caused a lot of trouble with his strange hobbies, he always came through when it mattered."

Arno raised an eyebrow, clearly surprised. "Blackbeard? The pirate? What kind of strange hobbies can a pirate have? Did he collect skulls or something?"

"He was a massive otaku that was an avid collector of anime figurines, manga, and assorted merchandise when he wasn't getting kicked around for being a perv. If I had a nickel for every time I had to patch him up in my room after getting into trouble, I'd probably be even richer than Gilgamesh!"

Gudako gave a cackle, but immediately stopped as she saw Niko's expression begin to sour as she described her friend. She continued softly. "Many people are surprised when I say that he's my favorite. But he was important to me. In a way, he taught me that even the strangest and most flawed people can become reliable allies. He never once doubted me, even when I doubted myself. That kind of trust meant everything during those early battles."

She shifted slightly in her seat, her large wings adjusting behind her as she continued speaking.

"There were many Servants I grew close to later on — Mash and Da Vinci, of course, and so many others who fought beside me until the end. But Blackbeard was the first. The one who made me believe I could actually do this impossible job. Even now, I sometimes miss his silly tone and terrible jokes. He was really good at giving anime and manga recommendations though."

Arno nodded thoughtfully, processing her words. The cart continued its swift journey across the open plains, the cloaking field keeping them hidden from any potential threats below. Outside, the scenery shifted gradually as they made excellent progress toward Siesta.

"The BroBeard memes were true…" Arno whispered after a moment. "Having a guy like that must've been a blast."

Gudako smiled again, a hint of nostalgia in her pink eyes. "He really was a handful at times. But I would not trade that memory for anything. He helped me survive when I needed it most. Even if he can be pretty slippery when getting out of trouble, he was the first guy next to Mash and Da Vinci to try and convince everyone that I was harmless and still the same old Gudako, even though I could see that he was afraid of what I had become, as well as the pummeling he was about to receive from the others."

She looked down at her drink, reminiscing about the old days.

"Even when lives and timelines were on the line, he was always there to understand that neither me nor my brother were prepared for the whole 'saving the world' thing." she added quietly. "He knew that we were doing the best we could to our ability, and since he was also an average human before becoming my Servant, he understood that we were doing what we can; and so he did what he could to make sure that nobody blamed us if we failed."

Gudako paused, tilting her head slightly as she observed Arno. Her expression grew softer, more affectionate.

"You remind me of them sometimes," she added quietly. "The way you accept people as they are. The way you protect Niko and me without asking for anything in return. It feels… familiar. Comforting."

"Aww. Thanks!" Niko chirped.

Arno nodded in thanks. He leaned back in his chair and asked, "So…what about your abilities? I know you mentioned the compulsion effect earlier, but what else can you do?"

Gudako tilted her head slightly, her golden eyes blinking once as she considered the question. A small, shy smile appeared on her lips.

"Aside from the compulsion that comes with being a Beast… I still have access to my phone." she explained as she summoned her items. One seemed to be a regular (if slightly futuristic-looking) touchscreen phone.

"It is not an ordinary phone. It is connected to my Spirit Origin and acts as a personal storage space. During my time as Master, my brother and I used to do many summonings to gather Servants. I kept a lot of the gifts and items I received from those summonings inside it. Not only that, but all the supplies that I got from some singularities are also stored here."

Arno raised an eyebrow, intrigued. "Wait, so you have your own Gate of Babylon? How'd Gil react to that?"

"Oh, he was really upset that I was copying him. Whatever EMIYA did to him must've really riled him up hard to simply hate on the idea of someone copying him." Gudako chortled at the thought.

"Although, he did say that, 'Hmph! I suppose it cannot be helped that a mongrel cannot help but look up to someone as great as myself." She even stood up and made a stance and face to imitate a certain King of Heroes. "'Come! If you are to try and imitate my greatness, then there is obviously no one better than myself to tutor you on how to deploy your "gate" most effectively!'"

Niko made a face at that. "He sounds like a headache and a half. A vacation-level headache, even."

"He was very much so, but he does get better with time…lots of time…"

"Sooo… can you show us what kind of stuff you have?" Arno tried to steer the conversation away from said headache of a Servant.

Gudako nodded. She reached into her clothing and pulled out her smartphone. The screen glowed softly as she tapped it a few times. A small, black portal appeared in front of her and she reached into the air to withdraw two objects.

First came a pair of sleek, black throwing knives (swords???) — Black Keys. She held them up carefully for Arno to see.

"These are called Black Keys." she said. "They were very frequent guests that appeared from the summonings. They were very useful in battle due to their Holy attribute, and throwing these into people's shadows can paralyze them."

Then, with another tap on her phone, she materialized a small sealed container. The moment she opened it, a rich, incredibly pungent aroma filled the cart — spicy, numbing, and intense.

"And this is Mapo Tofu," Gudako continued. "It was also a gift from one of the Servants I summoned. It is very authentic… and very spicy."

"Woah…it's so red!" she asked, ears perking up. She hopped off the bed and moved closer, eyes sparkling with curiosity. "It smells really intense! Can I try some?"

Arno reacted instantly. He reached out and gently but firmly pulled Niko back by the shoulder before she could grab a spoon.

"Hold on, Niko. Don't touch it," he said quickly.

Gudako's eyes widened in panic. She quickly closed the container, waving her hands apologetically.

"Ah! I'm sorry!" she said, sounding genuinely worried. "That Mapo Tofu is extremely spicy. Even many Servants had stomach aches after eating it. It is not safe for normal people."

Niko pouted but stayed back, though her eyes kept darting toward the container with reluctant fascination.

Gudako smiled sheepishly and tapped her phone again. "Here, let me show you safer things instead. These are Valentine's gifts I received from some of my Servants."

She first pulled out a small box of what looked like metallic gray marshmallows.

"These are Leonidas' Iron Marshmallows," she explained. "They are very… dense. And surprisingly heavy. He said they would help me build strength."

Niko leaned in closer, intrigued. "They look like normal marshmallows but… gray?"

"You can't eat them, I'm afraid. When I meant 'Iron' Marshmallows, I don't mean rich in Iron. They're made from metal."

"Huh?! Then what's the point of that? Shouldn't Valentine's gifts be regular chocolate?" Niko asked, stunned at the metal tidbit.

"It doesn't have to be food, Niko." Arno said as he inspected the marshmallows. "What matters is that it is an item that the person gives you as a sign of their care or affection. I suppose Leonidas just wanted Gudako to get stronger, hence he gave this. Am I right, Gudako?"

Gudako nodded as she materialized a beautifully decorated cake. It looked delicious at first glance. It was a small, dark chocolate cake that looked visually perfect and lovingly made. It even had some pretty designs as toppings. This included a small, chibi-like mask, a raspberry, a thin wedge of chocolate, and even some edible purple flowers whose colors popped with the black color of the cake.

"This one is from an Assassin Servant named Hassan of the Serenity," Gudako said. "She worked very hard on it. But—"

Before she could finish, Niko's eyes lit up and she reached out excitedly. "Cake! That looks amazing! Can I—"

Arno immediately pulled her back again, this time more firmly. "Niko, no!"

Gudako quickly moved the cake out of reach.

"No, Niko, you can't eat this either!" she said urgently. "It is poisoned. Serenity is an Assassin. Her food is always poisonous. It is made with love… but also deadly toxins. Only someone with a high enough poison resistance like me can eat this. Sorry…"

Niko froze, staring at the innocent-looking cake in horror. "Poisoned?! But it looks so pretty…"

Finally, Gudako pulled out a long, black cloth, holding it carefully.

"And this is a cloth from another Assassin Servant named the Hassan of the Cursed Arm," she said softly as she idly rubbed the fabric. "He gave it to me as a protective charm. And since it carries some of his power, it is very useful for concealment."

"Wait, Hassan again?" Niko asked as she noticed something. "Serenity, Cursed Arm, and Hundred…something. Why are there so many of them? Are they a group or something?"

Gudako smiled as she put the cake and marshmallows away. "They are, actually. In fact, there are 19 of them. Each with their own titles."

"Nineteen!? How do they keep track of them all? And what do the titles mean, anyway?"

The Beast girl was about to explain, only to be stopped as she notices Arno shake his head. She just realized that she was about to explain the mechanics of a murderous cult to a 12 year old girl.

"I'll tell you some other time. If I explained to you now, we'd be here all day. Besides, don't you wanna see what other stuff I have?"

Niko nodded with wide eyes, clearly amazed. "Yeah! That's so cool… You can just pull all these things out whenever you want? Weapons, food, gifts… Your old life was like having an endless treasure chest!"

Gudako smiled gently, looking a little proud. "It was useful during long missions. I kept everything important. Some gifts were strange, some were dangerous, but all of them meant something to me, and all were useful in their own ways. Did you know that the Cloak helped me hide in a Hide-n-Seek game? The kids back at Chaldea were so upset since none of them could find me!"

"Huh?! But that's not fair!"

Arno watched the exchange with a mix of amusement and mild concern. "I think we should establish a rule: no eating anything Gudako pulls out without asking about it first."

Niko nodded vigorously, still eyeing the poisoned cake with a strange mix of disappointment and respect. "Yeah…okay. But the cake looked so good though…"

The cart continued racing toward Siesta at high speed, the scenery outside still a blur. Inside, the conversation flowed comfortably as Gudako continued showing a few more safe items from her collection, while Niko asked eager questions and Arno listened as he navigated the Cart to their next destination.

Gudako POV

The cart hummed steadily through the night as I sat in the navigation seat, my clawed fingers resting lightly on the controls. Over the course of the week, Arno had taught both Niko and me on how to manage the system earlier that evening, his voice patient and clear as he walked us through the different functions. Now, with both of them sound asleep behind me, I had taken the watch. The soft glow of the panel lit the quiet space, and the world outside rushed past in a dark, cloaked blur.

'This… is pretty nice.'

I let the thought settle as my tail swayed slowly behind the seat. The gentle vibration of the cart, the quiet breathing of my companions, the knowledge that we were making good progress toward Siesta — it all felt strangely comforting. No immediate crises. No overwhelming pressure. Just the steady rhythm of travel and the simple responsibility of guiding us safely through the night.

'I really miss them, though.'

My chest tightened a little as memories surfaced. My younger brother coming to me for help in managing his ever growing harem. The chaotic energy of the Chaldea cafeteria as Beni-Enma and the kitchen Servants worked endlessly to keep everyone fed. And even some days when she attended the Chaldea book club with Murasaki and Andersen.

'Shakespeare can go and suck on a cactus.' I thought as I remembered the sleepless nights during my English course in college, barely passing by the subject.

'Oh, Edward… I wonder what he would think of all this. He would probably declare himself the captain of this cart and try to turn it into a pirate ship. And my brother… I hope he is doing alright without me.'

The longing was there, quiet but persistent. I missed the familiar chaos. The bonds I had fought so hard to protect. The sense of purpose that had defined my entire existence for so long.

But this new life had its own quiet appeal.

'It is peaceful here. Simpler. I get to wake up and help with small things — organizing stock, keeping watch, playing with Niko and Arno on our consoles and card games. It feels… manageable. Almost normal.'

A small smile tugged at my lips as I made a minor course correction. The cart responded smoothly, continuing its swift path under the cover of night.

Then, from somewhere deeper inside me, the Beast stirred.

'They could be yours. Always. Arno and Niko. Yours to keep. Yours to hold. No one could take them away if you simply claimed them properly… It's not that hard, either. What are some humans to a Goddess such as yourself?'

The thought came wrapped in warmth and possessive hunger. My wings twitched sharply. My pulse quickened. For a brief moment, the idea felt dangerously tempting — the notion of binding them to me, of ensuring they would never leave and to love me until the end of time.

I shook my head frantically, my hands furiously rubbing at my horns in an effort to soothe myself. I pushed the intrusive whisper away.

'No. Stop that.'

I took a slow, steadying breath, focusing on the navigation panel until the Beast's voice quieted again. Those instincts were still part of me, stronger than I liked to admit, but I refused to let them control me here. Not with them.

'This is enough. Being here with them, traveling together, building something small and good. I do not need to claim anything. I just… want to stay. To be useful. To protect this little peace we have found.'

The night continued outside, vast and quiet. I glanced back once more at Arno and Niko, both sleeping soundly, trusting me to guide the cart while they rested. A gentle warmth spread through my chest again.

'Yes… this is pretty nice.'

I settled more comfortably into the seat, keeping careful watch as the cart carried us forward. There was still a long road ahead, and I was content — for now — to simply be part of it.

"You really should put a cap on that other side of yours, you know."

Third Person POV

She whipped around so fast that her golden ram horns nearly clipped the headrest of the chair she was sitting on. Her heart leaped into her throat. There, sitting casually at the small dining table with his legs crossed and a mischievous glint in his eyes, was Zelretch. The Dead Apostle looked completely at ease, as if he had been there the entire time.

"Zelretch?!" Gudako gasped, her voice rising in surprise. "What are you doing here?!"

Zelretch raised a finger to his lips, shushing her gently with an amused smile. "Easy now. You'll wake the others if you keep being so loud. I'm only here for a quick visit."

Gudako quickly covered her mouth with her hands, her tail flicking nervously behind her as she glanced back toward Arno and Niko. Both were still fast asleep, thankfully undisturbed by her outburst. She turned back to the visitor, golden eyes wide with a mixture of shock and curiosity.

"A visit? In the middle of the night, while we are traveling at full speed?" she asked, still trying to process his sudden appearance. "How did you even get inside without us hearing you?"

Zelretch chuckled softly, leaning back in his chair. "The Kaleidoscope has its ways. Boundaries like 'inside' and 'outside' are more suggestions than rules for me. And you, my dear, seemed to have had your head in the clouds considering I raided your icebox for a snack." He studied her for a moment, his expression growing a touch more serious. "It has been a week since I dropped you off. I wanted to do a proper check-up. See how you're settling in with your new companions."

Gudako relaxed slightly, though her wings remained half-unfurled in lingering surprise. She adjusted her position in the navigation seat to face him better, one clawed hand still resting lightly on the controls.

"I see… Thank you for checking on me," she said softly. "Things have been… good. Better than I expected. The cart is peaceful, and Arno and Niko have been very kind."

Zelretch nodded, pleased with the answer. "I'm glad to hear that. You look more stable already. The Beast side is still there, of course, but you seem to be managing it well." He paused, then offered her a gentle smile. "I also wanted to tell you that your brother is doing fine. Things have calmed down considerably back at Chaldea. The immediate crises have passed, and the Mage Association is currently running a full audit of the organization. Lots of paperwork and bureaucracy — very boring, but necessary. No major incidents have occurred so far and everyone is managing as best they can."

Gudako's shoulders visibly relaxed at the news. A quiet breath of relief escaped her. "That is wonderful to hear. I have been worried about him… and everyone else. Thank you for letting me know."

Zelretch waved a hand casually. "It was the least I could do as you've been through enough. The last thing you needed was to carry that weight alone while trying to build a new life here."

He glanced around the interior of the cart with mild interest, taking in the cozy, lived-in space, the sleeping figures of Arno and Niko, and the soft glow of the navigation panel. The ancient magician seemed content to sit and talk for as long as she wanted, his presence strangely comforting despite how abruptly he had appeared.

Gudako hesitated for a moment, then asked, "Will you stay for a while? Or is this only a short visit?"

Zelretch smiled warmly and settled more comfortably into his chair. "I can spare some time to have a chat with one of Humanity's Saviours. Tell me more about how you're finding this new world. It must feel quite different from Earth."

Gudako's expression brightened immediately. She leaned forward, clearly excited to share her thoughts now that she had someone familiar to talk to.

"It is very different!" she said, her voice filled with genuine enthusiasm while still keeping it low enough not to wake the others. "Terra feels… bigger and more alive in some ways. There is Originium everywhere, which changes how societies develop and how people live. But the cultures here are so varied and interesting. I keep thinking about how certain Servants would react if they ever saw this world. Oh, their cities are on wheels! How cool is that?! "

She gestured animatedly with her clawed hands as she continued.

"Kazimierz, for example, has this entire knightly culture centered around competitive tournaments and honor duelds. Considering how the culture of knighthood has been reduced to sport, I imagine Artoria and the others will be appalled, and try to fix everything." Gudako giggled at the thought of the Goddess Rhongomyniad tearing the knightclubs a new asshole at how they watered down things like chivalry and honr for brand deals and the like..

Zelretch listened with clear amusement, nodding along. Gudako had also pulled out some bread and coffee for her and her companion to have while they chatted.

Gudako's tail swayed faster as her excitement grew. "Then there is the Iberian sea. The waters are dangerous, full of ancient ruins and powerful sea monsters. The pirate Servants like Blackbeard, Francis Drake, or even Barty would go completely wild exploring those waters. I can already picture Blackie trying to recruit a crew from the local Aegir and turning the whole region into his personal playground. Or at least, avoid getting blasted by the Inquisition."

She paused for a breath, then continued eagerly.

"Columbia has a very advanced aeronautics and space program. Voyager would be completely fascinated by their technology. He might even try to join one of their expeditions or collaborate on building something entirely new. And Yan… the empire has such a strong historical and martial tradition. People like Chen Gong or Jing Ke or even the other feudal Servants like Okita and the Shinsengumi would probably feel right at home in that environment."

Zelretch chuckled softly. "You've clearly been studying about this world quite thoroughly."

"I have. Niko has been kind enough to share her books about this world to me. They're the same ones that Arno bought for her when she first came around." Gudako admitted with a shy but proud smile. "Whenever Arno and Niko are resting, I look through all the guides and information the cart provides as well. There is so much variety here. Some regions feel almost medieval, others are highly modern, yet different in how Earth developed. It is chaotic at times, but it keeps moving forward. Not like the Singularities, where everything was constantly on the verge of collapsing. Here, the world endures."

She glanced back at the sleeping forms of Arno and Niko, her expression softening with quiet affection.

"And the people here are resilient, judging form what I've read and seen about Oripathy. But Arno and Niko have been very supportive through it all. Traveling with them feels… nice, all things considered.."

Zelretch watched her quietly for a long moment, his usual playful demeanor giving way to something more thoughtful. The ancient magician seemed perfectly content to sit and listen, clearly willing to stay for as long as the conversation continued.

Hours had passed in quiet conversation. Gudako had shared more stories and factoids about Terra, her growing fondness for the cart's simple routines, and the small joys she had discovered alongside Arno and Niko. Zelretch listened attentively, occasionally offering gentle insights or asking thoughtful questions. The navigation panel continued to glow softly under Gudako's care as she went and checked on from time to time..

Eventually, Zelretch glanced at some invisible point in the air and let out a small sigh. He rose from his chair with the same effortless grace he had arrived with.

"I'm afraid it is time for me to take my leave," he said gently. "Even I have limits on how long I can linger in one place without causing ripples."

Gudako's mood drooped slightly. A sadness settled over her features as she looked up at the ancient magician who had given her this second chance.

"Already…?" she murmured, voice soft with reluctance. She stood up as well, clasping her hands in front of her. "I understand. But… I am extremely grateful, Zelretch. For everything. For finding me when I had nowhere left to go. For helping me when I was lost and broken. And especially for bringing me here to this cart and my new friends. You gave me a new home when I thought I would never have one again. Thank you. Truly."

Zelretch's expression softened into a warm smile. He reached out and gently ruffled her crimson hair between her horns, the way an old mentor might comfort a favorite student.

"It was the least I could do," he replied quietly, "for someone who sacrificed everything for the sake of others. You deserved a chance at peace, Gudako. I'm glad you seem to be finding it here."

He turned toward the back of the cart, preparing to depart the same mysterious way he had arrived. But just before he stepped fully into the shadows, he paused and glanced back over his shoulder with a distinctly sly, teasing grin.

"Do your best in serving your new Master, alright?"

Gudako's golden eyes widened. A deep flush instantly spread across her face, reaching all the way to the tips of her ears.

"W-what do you mean by that?!" she asked, flustered and a little upset at the playful wording. "Zelretch, explain—!"

But he was already gone. Only the faint shimmer of multicolored light remained for a second before fading completely, leaving the navigation area quiet once more.

Gudako stood there for a long moment, staring at the empty space where he had been. Her heart was beating faster than usual. She brought a clawed hand up to her chest, trying to calm herself.

'My new Master…?'

She tested the words quietly under her breath, letting them roll across her tongue.

"My new Master…"

The sound of it sent another warm shiver down her spine. It felt strangely… right. Natural. The way it lingered in her mind made her cheeks burn even hotter. She liked it. More than she wanted to admit.

Her Beast side stirred again, whispering teasingly in the back of her thoughts.

'Yes… your Master. You want his attention, don't you? All of it. Only on you. No one else should have it. Just you. His guard. His companion. His—'

Gudako shook her head frantically, hands on ears flattening against her horns as she tried to push the intrusive thoughts away. A small, embarrassed whine escaped her throat.

'Stop that… This is not the time. He is not… I mean, we are not…'

She covered her face with both hands for a moment, feeling the heat radiating from her cheeks. The Beast's teasing laughter echoed faintly in her mind, clearly pleased with her reaction. Gudako let out another quiet whine, her tail lashing once behind her in mild frustration.

Gudako eventually lowered her hands as she got a hold of herself, took a deep breath, and returned her focus to the controls. Despite the embarrassment and the lingering teasing from her inner Beast and that damn old man, a small, secret smile found its way back onto her lips.

The road to Siesta stretched on ahead, and for better or worse, she still had a long night of quiet thoughts ahead of her.

AN: Aside from my waifu Nightingale, my true favorite Servant truly is Blackbeard because of how much fun he is during events. Bro really said "fuck it we ball" during the BB Mangaka event with Summer Jalter.

Champ, I can tell you right now, all of Gudako's text being bolded is going to get old real quick. It's fine when the character in question isn't talking very much. This is not the case with this much yapping.
Okay. One moment. I was thinking about it too considering the whole suppression effect, but ayt then. Thanks

ngl that emperor blade bit seems really interesting, cool chapter.
Looks like they are going straight to Siesta? I thought they would at least take the time to sight see through villages or cities. I suppose the cart provides all the supplies needed.
