Tanya’s Hogwarts Adventures (Youjo Senki, Harry Potter)

Well at least the mystery is done with on his end. So long as the confounding actually works

Great chapter, and great job showing the "moral" dilemmas of an evil Dumbledore, and a realistically evil Dumbledore

I wonder if there was was a war in 1926 for Tanya to have participated in? Dumbledore seems to be assuming it was simple reincarnation and that she was a normal witch in her previous life, but if he looks into it and finds there was no war what is he going to assume? That Tanya got the year wrong? That the entire thing was an act? Something else?

The Rif war was ongoing in 1926 and fighting in the Russian Civil Wars would exist until 1928, the warlord years in China are still ongoing even after Chiang 'unifies' the republic, Latin America and Mexico are both having stuff and things going on

Lmao, it just missed that she was commanding a Mage Company ! Would have been fun if he discover the discrepancy in her history and the history of the world, do a deep-dive and learn about her struggles and to not fuck with her. Just give her slack and keep an eye on her.

Thank you for writing !

I misspoke - I wonder if there was a war with Trench warfare and either aircraft or magical aerial attacks for Tanya to have participated in 1926. Not sure about the Rif war or the Latin America conflicts, but neither the Russian civil war or china's wars at the time involved trench warfare.

Albus' moral dilemma, written… actually, really well!

This is the ideal "Greater Good" Dumbledore, when not intentionally being a parody.

Hopefully having a clear explanation will trigger Tanya's rational complex so she calms down when she inevitably goes into panic mode about having her mind messed with. Don't remember but with the whole Being X thing, it may be a hot topic button.
Yeah, with all of the mystery and danger Tanya presents, from a purely pragmatic position it could be argued he did the right thing. At the same time there are many principles that woudl condemn him for it. This is an actual example of a man making a hard decision.

She mentioned the Rhine, specifically, by name IIRC.
Dumbledore's either going to conclude many-worlds theory or something *spectacularly* fucky, because there wasn't Trench warfare that brutal or horrifying around the Rhine River in Western Germany in 1926

Ah, good to get confirmation we're dealing with a Dark!Dumbledore.

Looking forward to Tanya killing him.
This is hardly a Dark Dumbledore. This is an old man feeling nervous about history repeating itself and working up the nerve to check and see if his worries are founded or not when after the last time he had these same worries and ignored them a civil war broke out. He is absolutely in the wrong, but what he did was hardly evil. He asked a few questions, learned that his worst fears are not happening and stopped all questions regardless of how curious he might be.

He could just handwave it as being a colloquialism for the soldiers at the time.
