"With Great Power Comes Great Responsibility."

The words Peter Parker's Uncle Ben taught him his entire life, the words which were the reason he became Spider-Man and the words he needed the most right now.

Because Peter had awakened a new power. A power which only knew how to destroy. And a power which changed him with its every use.

Featuring a Peter Parker with a devouring type mutant ability whose obtained powers remain with him unlike in comics. I will also try to ensure that no matter how many powers Peter obtains, they do not overshadow his spider powers.

"Spider-Man, Spider-Man, does what a spider can!"

Peter Parker, better known to the world as the vigilante Spider-Man, hummed cheerfully as he swung beneath the New York night sky, the city's endless forest of skyscrapers stretching out below him.

And why shouldn't he be in a good mood? For the first time in what felt like literal years, life was going well for Peter Parker.

He had landed a solid job as an assistant professor at Empire State University. On top of that, New York's crime rate had dropped to its lowest point in decades, making his nightly patrols far easier as well as quieter than they used to be.

"Spider-Man is a Menace!"

A sudden harsh voice sounded in Peter's ears, shattering his pleasant thoughts without any prior warning.

"The mayor should never have granted him such a great honor. That recognition belongs solely to the brave officers of the NYPD. A mere vigilante does not deserve to share it with them."

"And just like that," Peter muttered with a sigh as he landed on a nearby rooftop, "my day is ruined."

A massive billboard in front of him blared the Daily Bugle's evening broadcast. Front and center, as always, was J. Jonah Jameson, passionately criticizing a statement the mayor had made at an event the previous day.

"While the NYPD certainly deserves immense credit for New York's reduced crime rate," the mayor had said, "I believe part of that credit also belongs to Spider-Man, the man who has stopped countless crimes in this city since his debut several years ago."

Needless to say, this statement had not been well accepted by Jameson who had been criticising Spider-Man since his very debut.

"Seriously," Peter grumbled, folding his arms as he watched the broadcast. "When will Jameson ever learn?"

"I've fought alongside the Avengers, the Fantastic Four, even the X-Men. Tony Stark and Captain America personally named me an honorary Avenger. People trust me now. Those days when everyone pointed their fingers at me just by hearing his voice are long gone."

'Hopefully, the day he learns his lesson comes soon', Peter thought. 'My ears have started to hurt from hearing the same rant year after year.'

With a flick of his wrist, Peter fired a web line and launched himself back into the air, eager to finish his patrol and call it a night.

Ring!

He wouldn't have been swinging for more than a few minutes when his Spider-Sense suddenly screamed in warning. Peter reacted instantly, dropping onto another rooftop as adrenaline surged through his veins.

He scanned his surroundings, muscles tense, eyes sharp. Yet, he found nothing.

No gunshots. No attackers. No immediate danger.

And yet, his Spider-Sense refused to stop.

Ring! Ring! Ring!

The warning grew more erratic, louder, almost frantic, as though reacting to something he couldn't see—or understand.

Then it happened.

Peter felt something pass through him. Not an impact, not pain—more like a wave, rippling through his very being. Something had changed. He was certain of it, though he couldn't explain how or why.

Just as suddenly as it had arrived, the sensation vanished.

His Spider-Sense fell silent.

As if whatever had triggered it… had already moved on.

Peter straightened, unease crawling up his spine.

Unfortunately for him, the real danger was only just beginning.

Crack!

His ears suddenly heard sound of cracking from above, causing him to look upwards.

And what Peter saw made his blood run cold.

The sky was cracking.

Splintering like glass.

Thin fractures spread across the night sky, widening rapidly—until, with a deafening shatter, the heavens tore open. A massive hole of absolute darkness yawned overhead, swallowing the stars around it.

"What the hell is happening?" Peter cursed as he saw the horrifying sight. "Where's Doctor Strange when you actually need him?"

He pulled out his phone, dialing the number of Earth's foremost expert on interdimensional matters.

But before the call could connect, something fell from the dark rift above.

It slammed into the city several blocks away, the impact shaking the ground beneath Peter's feet.

ROAR!!

The sound that followed was deep, guttural, and unmistakably inhuman.

Peter didn't hesitate. He immediately ended the call and shoved his phone back into his pocket.

Because he knew that if he wasted even a second now, people would die.

Firing his web-shooters, Peter swung at full speed toward the crash site, heart pounding as he prepared to confront whatever nightmare had just arrived in New York.

***********************************

The first thing Peter saw when he reached the scene was…… tentacles.

Many, many tentacles.

"What the hell is that thing?" Peter muttered.

Massive tentacles, dark green—almost black in colour extended from a gigantic, eyeless sphere of flesh. Its only defining feature was a grotesquely huge mouth, lined with rows of serrated teeth.

The creature, currently thrashing wildly, with some of its tentacles even hitting the nearby buildings, was the living representation of an eldritch monster, capable of giving nightmares to adult men with its mere appearance.

If there was one small mercy, it was that the monster was badly injured.

Deep gashes covered its body, oozing an unsettling green blood. It's current rampage was likely because of these very injuries.

Fortunately, it had landed on a street lined with office buildings, most of them empty at this hour. The few pedestrians present were already fleeing in panic, desperate to escape the creature's reach.

As Peter was analysing the entire scene, his eyes fell upon a certain young man who despite running as fast as possible was still dangerously close to the monster's flailing tentacles.

Immediately, Peter fired a web line and swung towards the man. Upon arrival at his location, he immediately grabbed the man in his arms and swung away just as a tentacle slammed through the spot where the man had been seconds earlier.

Peter landed a safe distance away and gently set the man down.

"Thank you," the man gasped. "Thank you so much, Spider-Man. You're a real hero. I—I was stupid to ever believe Jameson."

It seems that this man was one of those rare people who had fallen for Jameson's words and had considered Spider-Man a menace.

"It's alright," Peter said, already turning back toward the chaos. "You can think about who's right later—"

"Aaah!"

A scream echoed through the street, cutting him off.

Peter motioned for the man to run and spun toward the source of the sound, finding it to be a nearby building which had been pierced by a massive tentacle.

Thankfully, when the appendage pulled free, there was no blood staining it. A sign that no casualty had occurred because of the monster's attack.

"Looks like I can't wait any longer," Peter muttered, eyes narrowing as he saw the interdimensional monster's flailing tentacles continuously damaging the buildings.

He had hoped to wait for an Avenger or a Sorcerer from Kamar-Taj to arrive so that he could team up with him to deal with this monster. With a giant hole in the sky and an otherworldly monster tearing through the streets of Manhattan, it was only a matter of time before someone arrived to deal with it.

But now, it was clear to Peter that if he stalled any longer, casualties could occur!

"Well," he said to himself, forcing a familiar grin beneath his mask, "I've dealt with Doctor Octopus's tentacles before. These tentacles can't be that different, right?"

With these words, Spider-Man fired his web-shooters straight at the monster and leapt into battle.

Chapter 2: Screaming Tentacles New
Peter fired his web shooters in rapid succession at the monster's tentacles, trying to immobilize as many of them in his webs as possible before the monster became aware of his presence.

Kree!!

Peter's web assault soon caught the monster's attention and it immediately responded by attempting to attack him with its tentacles, only to find several of them stuck in Peter's webs.

Perhaps because of its heavy injuries, the monster didn't have enough strength to break through Peter's webs instantly and as such, could only attack Peter with its remaining tentacles.

Despite having no visible eyes, the monster's aim was surprisingly precise as it was targeting Peter with its tentacles quite accurately.

Though this precision provided no benefit to it since Peter was already prepared for its assault.

As the tentacles approached Peter, he simply shot a web to a nearby building and yanked himself in, smoothly dodging the monster's attack.

Of course, the monster was not going to stop attacking Peter just because he dodged its initial assault. Its tentacles immediately moved towards Peter's location, prompting him to break into a run on the walls of the building.

When the walls of the building ended, Peter swung over to another building while also webbing a few more of the monster's tentacles in the process.

He continuously moved around the monster, using himself as a bait so that the monster's attention would only be on him while also webbing its thrashing tentacles whenever an opportunity arose.

This deadly game of chase between Peter and the monster continued for a few minutes until Peter managed to web almost all of the monster's tentacles.

Though this was not that big of an achievement since the monster's earliest webbed tentacles were already breaking free from their webs.

However, it still left a big opening in the monster's defence and Peter fully capitalised on it by using one of his strongest attack maneuvers.

He shot webs from both of his web shooters not at the monster but on the ground on either side of it.

He then pulled on these webs as much as he could without breaking them, thus creating a lot of tension in them.

Snap!

Many of the monster's tentacles snapped free from the webs at this very moment but Peter didn't care about them even a single bit.

He simply released the stretched webs, causing them to act like a spring and hurl him towards the monster with all the stored force.

BAM!!

When Peter crashed into the monster with that amount of force, the impact was so great that the ground beneath the monster cracked, creating a crater.

If any ordinary civilian had seen this scene, they would have been shocked to their very core. Because the world knew Peter aka Spider-Man for his webs and spider like powers such as his wall crawling.

Very few people knew about his immense strength because Peter didn't get a chance to use it often. His usual opponents were common criminals who would die if Peter used even a fraction of his strength. As such, it was rare for him to find an opponent like the monster before him, against whom he could freely use his full strength.

Now, returning to the present, Peter's ground shaking attack had made the monster completely limp. Its tentacles which were struggling in the webs just a moment ago had gone still and for a few moments, there was no activity in its body, almost making Peter believe that it was dead.

Kruh….

However, the monster's painful groan soon after made it clear to him that this otherworldly being still had a lot of vitality remaining.

"Why can't this monster just die?" Peter muttered, frustration bleeding into his voice as he layered more webs over its body, sealing it completely.

"Guess I will have to send it on its way to hell myself."

Given the monster's current condition where it was nearing its death as well as completely trapped in the webs, it could be easily captured.

However, Peter's instincts, including his Spider Sense told him that the monster would be better off dead.

So, Peter listened to his instincts and jumped atop the monster's main body, ready to pummel it to death.

Bam! Bam!

Peter's punches, capable of bursting an ordinary human's skull if they ever struck it, landed repeatedly on the monster's already wounded body.

The impact was so great that the gloves of Peter's suit started tearing, unable to withstand the tremendous force passing through them.

Kruh! Kruh!

The attack on its body caused the battered monster to let out continuous cries. Yet, with every punch from Peter, its cries grew weaker, signifying that its death was near.

Ring!

It was at this moment where victory seemed within Peter's grasp that his Spider Sense suddenly rang. Before Peter could realise what it was warning him against, the monster suddenly let out a strange scream.

Kree!!

The scream was a small one, barely hearable with human ears. Yet, it impacted Peter's mind like a hammer!

That's right! The otherworldly monster, in additon to its humongous body, possessed psychic abilities too.

And it was this very ability which Peter's Spider Sense had been warning him about, causing him to take the decision of killing the monster.

However, unlike the mutants with psychic abilities on Earth who wielded their ability like a scalpel, the monster's psychic attack on Peter could only be described as a sledgehammer.

Possessing no finesse, the brutal psychic attack had forced Peter's mind into chaos, making it difficult for him to form even a single thought.

However, even in this chaotic state, Peter had only one thought in mind.

To somehow kill this monster.

And so Peter attacked again, striking his punches into the monster's body desparately.

Bam! Bam!

It was at this desperate moment where Peter was trying his utmost to kill the monster that a strange black energy suddenly appeared on his naked right hand.

Even in his fractured mental state, Peter reacted instinctively, changing the form of his right hand from a punch to a claw as it struck the monster's body while being coated in that black energy.

Kraah!!

As soon as the black energy touched the monster's body, it let out a huge cry with all its might, louder than all of its previous ones. It was as if it could feel that its end had arrived.

As for Peter himself, with his mind in a state of chaos, he could feel only thing right now, that he was eating!!

The black energy continues to act on the monster's body for a few minutes after which the monster's cries ended and its body became completely limp, a sign that the monster was finally dead.

"Just what the hell was that?" Peter slowly said as his mind finally started stabilizing.

He looked at his right hand which had stopped emitting the strange black energy which was the cause of the monster's death.

However, Peter couldn't continue thinking about the black energy for long because the monster's body beneath his feet suddenly fell apart, causing him to drop to the ground.

When Peter looked around to see why this happened, he was shocked to find that the monster's body had disappeared. All he could see around him was his webs and a strange, ash coloured dust.

Somehow, the otherworldly monster's body had turned into this ash coloured dust!

"Just what…. is happening?"

Peter had only muttered this much when his headache returned, this time much, much more stronger than before.

His vision started wavering and he could not maintain control over his legs.

"Spider-Man!"

Peter only heard a familiar voice addressing him before he suddenly lost his consciousness.

**********************************

And so it begins!

I know that Marvel Universe already has a character with the ability of absorption in Rogue. However, Peter's ability works in a way completely different from Rogue's.

The closest comparison would be Strange Supreme's devouring spell which he used to absorb the interdimensional monsters and achieve his current level of power.

Chapter 3: A Vision Like No Other New
Beep! Beep!

The first thing Peter saw when he woke up was a metal ceiling. In fact, it was not just the ceiling, the entire room was constructed from reinforced steel.

Instead of his Spider-Man suit, he was wearing a patient's outfit, with several wires extending from the various medical equipment surrounding him connected to his body, likely monitoring his condition.

However, his current location was not the greatest problem for Peter right now. Because somehow, Peter could now see more than what his eyes were seeing.

'How the hell am I seeing what is behind me as well?'

Peter literally shouted in his mind, his thoughts in almost complete chaos because of his panic.

That's right! Peter Parker was now somehow capable of seeing not only what was in front of him but also behind him as well.

Of course, this new vision of his didn't exactly function the same as his eyes. The world it showed Peter, unlike his original vision, didn't contain any colours. In fact, it only showed the outlines of objects, almost like an artist's initial sketch.

Though it was not without its own benefits either. This new vision seemed to be unobstructed by opaque objects, allowing Peter to see through the walls effortlessly.

With its help, Peter had already found where he was. The area behind the metal walls of this room contained almost nothing!

Peter could only see some fragments of something suspended in what initially seemed to be air but once he tried to look further, he found roots extending downwards.

Meaning that it was actually soil which Peter was seeing through with his new sight and he was in an underground basement.

Even though he was in an unknown basement with what seemed to be a new power, Peter found himself calming surprisingly fast once he realised that there was no immediate threat to his life.

And when he finally calmed down, Peter found himself getting accustomed to his new vision surprisingly quick.

This was mostly because of his Spider Sense. His Spider Sense which guided him whenever he swung on the webs through New York, warned him everytime there was a threat to his life and was perhaps the main reason why he was still alive, was guiding his new vision too.

The first thing Peter realised after getting accustomed to his new vision was that its range was a complete 360°. He just needed to focus into a certain direction to direct it there.

However, Peter was currently not interested in learning more about his new vision. He wanted to sort out everything regarding his current situation before he tried anything with his new ability.

So,as soon as he gained more command over his new vision, he immediately attempted to retract it.

But to his surprise, Peter couldn't do it. If he tried to concentrate on his new vision, he could easily increase its range vastly in a certain direction.

However, no matter what he tried, his vision's range refused to shrink any more from a range of roughly 50 metres.

"Don't tell me this new power of mine is one of those rare cases where one's mind is unable to control their power." Peter muttered worriedly.

He knew about this kind of cases and had seen them in the X-Men members Cyclops and Rogue who couldn't control their powers because of some problem with their mind.

Peter was still thinking of how to retract his new vision when he saw the area in front of him suddenly distort.

If Peter had observed this distortion more closely, he would have realised that it was not his eyes but his new supernatural vision through which he had seen this distortion.

However, the distortion existed for only a split second, not giving Peter any time to even think about it properly. When it disappeared, a strange looking man was standing in its place.

His skin as well as hair was dark blue in colour and his eyes were yellow like a cat. Moreover, his ears were pointed and his hands only had three fingers.

Any ordinary civilian would have been frightened to death upon seeing his unique appearance and called him a demon. But to Peter, he was a dear friend.

Kurt Wagner, codename Nightcrawler. A member of the X-Men with the mutant ability of teleportation and a kind hearted man despite all the adversities he had faced in his life because of his appearance.

"Kurt! Looking at you as well as this metallic room, it seems that I am in the underground bunker of the X-Mansion." Peter said with a smile as he welcomed his friend.

"It is good to see that you are awake, Peter. We had been really frightened when Doctor Strange suddenly appeared on our door holding your unconscious body." Kurt replied in a relieved tone, glad to see that Peter was alright.

"So, it was Dr. Strange who took me here."

Peter had heard a familiar voice when he was falling unconscious but he had not stayed conscious long enough to recognise the voice's owner.

"But why would he take me here? I know that I have always hidden my identity but taking me to a SHIELD medical facility should have been more than enough. They have known my real identity for years." Peter asked in a puzzled tone.

He had many friends in the X-Men who even knew his real identity and Professor Xavier had also told him that he was always welcome in the X-Mansion.

However, Dr. Strange shouldn't have had knowledge about this information when he took him here. So, it didn't make sense to Peter why Dr. Strange would place him in the care of the X-Men.

"You don't know?" Kurt said with a surprised look after hearing Peter's words.

"Ah! You must have fallen unconscious before you realised your new ability. Your X-gene has awakened, Peter." Kurt suddenly dropped the bomb.

"Congratulations, buddy! You are now a mutant."

"How can I be a mutant?" Peter exclaimed, almost in denial.

"The moment Professor Xavier saw you in Doctor Strange's arms, it was clear to him that you had awakened as a mutant. The psychic waves your brain generated even when you were unconscious were so great that there was no way you were not a psychic mutant." Kurt explained.

'Psychic mutant! But I have not awakened any telepathy or telekinesis— It can't be!'

It was only now that Peter realised the true nature of his new vision. It was the psychic ability he had awakened!

Rather than moving objects with his mind or linking his mind to that of others, Peter could 'see' with his mind. No wonder he could only see the outlines with his new vision. It was just how his mind perceived the outside world.

"By the way, your fight with that monster was really awesome, Peter. You were literally dancing around it when you dodged its tentacles. And that maneuver where you launched yourself at the monster by using your webs. It was honestly chef's kiss!"

Kurt suddenly said to Peter in an excited tone, bringing him out of his thoughts.

"How the hell do you know about my fight with that monster so accurately?" Peter asked, surprised by Kurt's words.

"While you were fighting that monster, someone in a nearby building filmed the entire scene. It is all over the news now." Kurt explained.

"Seriously, some people have no sense of danger. At a time where they should be as far as possible from the monster, they were filming it. What if one of the monster's tentacles had broken through the walls of their building and hit them. They could have ended up injured or —"

Peter couldn't finish his words because his psychic vision suddenly picked up something heading rapidly towards his room.

It was a strange phenomenon. In his psychic vision, it looked like a string of translucent energy yet for some reason, Peter could sense a unique presence in it.

However, Peter had no time to analyse this phenomenon because it arrived soon after in his room and directly collided with him or to be more accurately, his mind.

Surprised by the sudden psychic intrusion, Peter could only steel his mind in a desperate attempt to protect himself. His psychic power had just awakened and he didn't know how to use it to defend his mind. So, he could only do this much.

However, to his surprise, the presence only connected to his mind and didn't try to invade it further.

"I am glad to see that you have awakened, Peter." A familiar voice of an old man sounded in Peter's mind as the connection between his mind and the presence was completed.

*********************************

I decided to not give Peter telepathy because it would have been literally useless for him.

No matter how much strong telepathy he would have obtained from the monster, it would have been nothing against the psychic might of Professor Xavier, Jean Grey or Emma Frost. Not to mention that Peter is not the kind of guy to go around snooping inside other people's minds.

Chapter 4: Strange Inquiries New
"Professor!"

Peter thought, recognising the voice to be that of Professor Xavier, the leader of the X-Men.

Apparently, the energy thread Peter's psychic vision was seeing was just the telepathic connection Professor Xavier had used to connect his mind to Peter's.

"I must say that I am pleasantly surprised by your psychic talent, Peter. To think that you would be able to recognise my psychic intrusion and even try to defend against it when your psychic ability has just awakened." Professor Xavier said in Peter's mind, praising his potential.

"It is likely because of my mutant ability, Professor. Even though it is a psychic ability, it is not telepathy or telekinesis. It is…. something else. I had not even realised that my ability was of psychic nature until Kurt told me." Peter explained.

"Huh! This is quite surprising. Psychic abilities manifesting outside telepathy and telekinesis are exceedingly rare." Professor Xavier said, sounding intrigued.

"However, you don't need to worry, Peter. I am already on my way to you. Once I arrive, you can explain to me everything about your unique psychic ability in detail."

With these words, Professor Xavier ended the conversation and shut down the telepathic connection between their minds, causing the string of telepathy visible to Peter's psychic vision to snap.

"Sorry for suddenly pausing, Kurt. Professor Xavier—"

"Had contacted you telepathically out of nowhere. I understand." Kurt said, finishing Peter's words.

Being a resident of the X-Mansion for several years, he seemed to be quite used to Professor Xavier's sudden telepathic conversations.

"Yeah! He said that he is on his way here." Peter replied in affirmation.

A few minutes later, the door to Peter's room opened and in came a bald man in a suit on a highly advanced machine which served as his wheelchair.

Professor Xavier, one of the strongest telepaths on Earth and the leader of the X-Men. A man who had devoted his entire life to create a world where mutants and humans could live together peacefully.

However, he was not alone. Coming right behind him was a black haired man with a goatee, wearing intricate blue robes with a gold trimmed red cloak on his shoulder.

Doctor Strange, the Sorcerer Supreme of Kamar Taj and the protector of Earth from interdimensional threats.

"Kurt," Professor Xavier said gently as he entered the room, "would you mind giving us the room?"

"Of course, Professor." Kurt replied in affirmation, knowing that he was not needed for the upcoming conversation.

He then turned to Peter and grinned. "See you later, buddy."

Then, with a soft bamf, he vanished.

After Kurt left the room, it was surprisingly Dr. Strange who spoke first.

"First of all, I am really sorry, Peter. The planar barriers of Earth had suddenly weakened, allowing the monster you had fought to break through. Because I was busy repairing those barriers, I was unable to aid you in your battle against that monster."

Dr. Strange's voice was full of regrets as he apologised to Peter. He was genuinely sorry for not being able to aid Peter in his fight against that interdimensional monster.

"There is no need to apologise, Dr. Strange. Both of us did our duty the best we could. Besides, everything did work out in the end." Peter replied humbly.

"And you were lucky that it did, Peter. If that Screecher had not been injured while breaking through the dimension barriers, then its screams would have broken your mind before you could have even touched it." Dr. Strange said, informing Peter of how fortunate he was.

"Screecher?" Peter asked in a puzzled tone.

"This is what we sorcerers call them. They are a rare species of interdimensional monsters with natural psychic abilities. Their name comes from the way they wield their psychic ability. A telepathic scream which directly shocks their target's mind." Dr. Strange explained.

"Yeah, I know about that scream all too well." Peter replied with a shudder, the memory of the Screecher's psychic attack still fresh on his mind.

"It was like a sledgehammer had struck my mind out of nowhere. My mind was suddenly full of pain and I couldn't even think about what to do about it. It was only through sheer will that I was able to continue attacking the Screecher."

"Luckily, that attack turned out to be blessing in disguise for you, Peter. After all, it helped you awaken your latent psychic ability." Professor Xavier said suddenly, intervening in the conversation.

"Speaking of your psychic ability, you had said that it was different from other psychic abilities. That it was neither telepathy not telekinesis. Can you explain about your mutant ability now that we are here?"

"Ah, yes! About my psychic ability. It seems that I can 'see' with my mind." Peter said, explaining everything he had experienced regarding his psychic vision to Professor Xavier.

When he finished, Professor Xavier was silent for several seconds.

"Fascinating," he finally said. "The ability to perceive the world directly through the mind… I have never encountered anything quite like it."

"However, this would explain the faint psychic field I have been sensing ever since I have entered this room. I had thought that this field was just a result of you not being able to fully control your newly awakened psychic ability, causing it to spill over.

But now, it seems to me that this psychic field is the medium through which your mind is observing the nearby surroundings and therefore 'see' it."

"Anyways," Professor Xavier continued, "we can discuss about this unique psychic ability of yours later when you are properly rested and refreshed, Peter. For now, you should just rest. I can see that finding out about your psychic ability has made you really anxious."

With these words, Professor Xavier turned his wheelchair around, ready to leave the room.

"Wait a minute, Professor Xavier!"

It was at this moment that Doctor Strange suddenly stopped Professor Xavier for some reason.

"Answer me truthfully, Peter. Is this psychic power you have awakened really your mutant ability?" He asked Peter seriously, looking him directly into his eyes.

"Why are you asking such a stupid question, Doctor Strange? Ever since Peter has arrived here at the X-Mansion, it has been obvious to everyone that he is a psychic mutant." Professor Xavier said, surprised by the nature of Dr. Strange's question.

"Then who was the one to turn the Screecher to dust? Because it definitely was not me." Dr. Strange replied, shocking everyone.

"I-I remember something." Peter suddenly said, drawing everyone's attention.

He had wanted to rest a little and sort everything out before he even thought of the black energy he had summoned during his fight with the Screecher.

However, now that the cat was out of the bag, he was willing to talk about it.

"I don't remember much since my mind was in chaos because of the Screecher's psychic attack at that time. However, I clearly remember seeing my hand coated in some sort of black energy hit the Screecher before it turned to dust."

"A strange black coloured energy! It seems that my suspicions were indeed correct. Peter, can you try to bring out that black energy again?" Dr. Strange requested seriously.

"I will try my best." Peter replied in affirmation as he focused on the cold sensation he had felt when the black energy had appeared in his hand in attempt to bring that energy out.

As if it had been waiting, the black energy sprang out from Peter's hand with the now familiar cold sensation as soon as he willed it.

The energy was pitch black in colour, so black that it seemed to absorb the light around it.

Seeing it properly for the first time, Peter was obviously looking at it with fascination. However, he was unable to look at it for long because as soon as Dr. Strange's eyes fell upon it, he immediately shouted.

"Stop it! Shut down that black energy immediately, Peter."
