give it a listen first before reading my thoughts maybe if u want to feel alive a little for once ugh /s
and the lyrics do really add a lot to the feeling and atmosphere. The song wouldn't be the same without them but WOW--

The suburbanite spiritualslop bits are a small price to pay for how good the whole thing is ofc. It's fantastic music. I love the contemplative opening (and that feeling as a whole, throughout), when the lyrics hit they hit and I'd totally make an AMV to this song if my brain weren't grapeshot for marbles 24/7 (lying).

you can kind of tell they're (sorta) doing the 80s pop thing where they just say a bunch of words for the radio and let people pick up their own meaning but who doesn't do that-

I've always felt that music discourse online is just… tired. At a glance, alright? As a layperson. Mostly just on popular sites ((citation needed)). It doesn't really seem like ppl are up to just say shit about songs rn so I'm probably just traveling in the wrong circles. I'm posting here tho cos I can say cum without being vaporized. Back on point though it probably feels so played out since, duh, music as a whole is mega popular and has been for a long time and you'll inevitably encounter a high concentration of insufferable nerds (
