Thoughts about Discord's use by authors

Hey Everyone,


Wanted to get some feedback on what people think the alternatives are going forward with the discord age verification changes.
Honestly didn't use Discord much besides following authors and mod projects but not seeing it discussed as much as I would have thought but it could be there's less pushback from people than I'd expect.

Basically do you think authors will stay on Discord and just ignore any potentially minor loss in views/subs or do you think people will start to move to things like Stoat or Teamspeak ect.

I am expecting it to be a pretty slow transition since even though there were some warning signs I don't think many authors had any preparation to move before a few weeks ago.

Depends on if discord keeps pushing or not. Currently, it's angry but stable. They are making noises about maybe backing off a bit, so as long as they don't keep ramming themselves skull first into a mountain, what's happened so far is totally recoverable.

If they continue to be dumb, expect them to gradually lose people based on just how dumb they are and authors to start to set up on other platforms. tldr; too soon to really tell.
