BTW having only found this thread recently do you clear the vote counts each round or do you only clear the vote counts for the story(s) that gets a chapter that round?

As shown by the threadmarks, vote counts only get cleared for the story that gets a chapter. That lets each story get a chapter every once in a while, with the more popular stories getting chapters more often, approximately in proportion to the average amount of votes they get.

That approximation could be even closer if the vote counts were reduced by the second-place total instead of being reset completely to zero, but this way is biased in favor of the less-popular stories, so they stay fresher.
