What are your most hated fanfic tropes

Does the whole "Dadzawa" thing from MHA count? I admit I haven't watched it in years, but I remember him being a dickhead and a really shitty teacher. Also, and I am absolutely in the minority here, Quirkless Hero Izuku. He would need Batman levels of money to get the training and gear he needs to even have a chance of getting into UA. I understand the appeal, but I really don't like it.

Also character bashing, even if they deserve it. It just feels trashy.

i like PHO parts. mostly bc i like reactions from others and PHO arent that hard to write compared to normal so the chapters are generally a bit longer.

what sucks are the big notifications and its just the author arguing with someone or anything not story related.

This one in particular comes with SIs or OCs who go full 'lol I know the plot'.
Gods, those are infuriating.
 
I hate fics where the MC goes out of their way to defend/redeem female villains but immediately flies into a rage when the villain is a guy.

I've seen so many HP time travel and self-insert fics where Bellatrix and Narcissa are given every chance because "That future hasn't happened yet, they are currently innocent" but the second they come across Malfoy, Pettigrew, and the Lestrange brothers it's suddenly "They need to die because they will do terrible things in the future."

Just admit you want to fuck the female characters.

Don't pretend the mc is some believer in second chances when in reality the only people getting those chances are the ones joining the harem.

So what can I say here? That I hate everything where it's bad? That I want to read books that are as light as possible despite the darkness? How can I justify that I don't read heavy topics? Maybe I should write about my religious worship of canon characters? and that's why I read everything that somehow distracts me from, excuse me Oum, a severed hand? Well, yes. I close myself, as always, in my cocoon, and I don't want any infection to get in there. INCLUDING me, because naturally the imago should not turn into some kind of duck and ghoul. If only mushrooms would grow in my mouth. So I guess I hate seeing people like me in fanfiction. Petty. not deserving. fucking...

A trope that I've increasingly come across lately that I hate is DxD SI fics that refuse to kill Raynare and the other Fallen Angels.

The reasons given are always bullshit too. 'I don't want to divert from canon' or 'I'll just make them my maids instead.'

OP MC thinking they're weak and shrug off compliments after they showcased absurd feats. Always with the "what I did is nothing special. Everyone can do it". It stops being endearingly humble and starts being patronizing.
 
MC has no friends, because the fanfic author decides to turn everybody he was friends with and/or could rely on and admittedly looked up to/admired/respected him to be a bunch of assholes who just "betray" him for some inane reasons

Proceeds to replace them with new "friends" from the crossover series who are mainly haremettes, zero mutual respect or attachment
 
After reading through the actual listing of fanfic tropes, I've found more that I'd forgotten or didn't know the name of that I despise the majority of the time they are used. Most bad tropes can be okay if used well, though. Doesn't mean it ever is, but I'll admit the possibility exists.

My top 5 from least disliked to most disliked:
5. Modern AU Fic: Fics set in a contemporary (and often mundane) setting. (Rarely seen one of these that couldn't have been better with an original character. Especially when they change/remove/delete the characters original skills/powers/memories/etc. Just make an OC at that point.)
4. High School AU: An AU fanfic in which the characters are high school students. (Never seen one of these that was worth reading in the first place. Usually the characters are from some setting that doesn't have high schools and the characters don't have their canon skills or memories. So essentially reskinned OC's with a personality overlay.)
3. Het Is Ew: Boys kissing girls? Disgusting! (Most often seems to be someone's yaio or yuri fetish being forced on everyone in a fic rather than written well on a few characters.)
2. Omegaverse: A setting where humans have a secondary sex (alpha, beta or omega). (99.9% of the time it's someone's attempt to justify NTR.)
1. Mister Seahorse (MPreg): A male character gets pregnant. (I despise these so much that I try to forget they exist. I like to think I have a very good ability to suspend my disbelief, but never enough to read one of these with it redlining.)

I'm fine with Modern AUs if they actually feature the elements that a setting is best known for in the first place. A Game of Thrones Modern AU where everyone's uber-rich corpo types all backstabbing each other in pursuit of a massive merger sounds awesome, a modern AU where the not!Starks all work at a Starbucks sounds like my idea of a personal hell.

At that point why not just be original and make your own characters instead of just being a hack and copying established ones. Hell if it's good enough then you might get a deal for your own book:

Fucking gross. Why would anyone want to help that sex offender get a harem? Especially a SI!

The stories usually try to portray it in a positive or neutral light, but all I get out of that goal is that the SI (or author) likes sitting in the cuck chair.

Why else would you self-insert into a harem anime and play wingman for the original protagonist?

For me that only makes sense if it becomes reciprocal. OG MC decides to repay via finding a harem for SI, then again it depends on the flavor of the SI in question.
If he dates a canon character and becomes friends with MC? I don't see why he could not help MC get his sweetheart.
Principally if MC helped them.

Then again, my main issue is that often half of the SIs who diss on Ise for 'being a sex offender' fall into 'pot calling kettle black'.

Yelling & talking about boobs in public is pretty cringe but is pretty low on the sex offender scale compared to someone like Rito from To Love Ru who trips & falls face-first into a girl's panties.
