Which is why she isn't immediately calling Delenn and reporting the claim so Delenn can drag Matthew in front of various technological means they have to infer things.

Unless Delenn and Mayan pull some strings.

Or heck, he could just manufacture some documents for the building that say that the architect wanted it to be finished and have them be found by the Minbari.

He would have to tell Delenn what he wanted to do for that, and then convince her that he was being truthful.

As to the documents, this isn't 21st century Earth, anything he fabricates would have to pass Minbari authentication.

More than interesting. "Ring, scan and manufacture a ton of the immortality serum" is absolutely something he would do. "Oh, what's that, the serum requires something to be extracted from living sophonts? I have a magic ring.". The only question is whether he'll force dose everyone on the station, and if the serum requires continuous injections (I don't think so, but I'll need to rewatch the episode).

Did they leave them a way to detect what species a soul taken by a Soul Hunter belongs to?

The only thing they seem to have left them to detect Shadow servants is that triangle thing that showed up on Delenn's forehead when she met Morden.

And that basically showed up a single time. The time she met a Drakh is didn't show up.

There's a VERY lengthy and very well-done fic on Spacebattles by Lightning_Count that tells the story of the war. About...15 years ago now? It's generally regarded as canon-grade.

Why didn't all the Lanterns share their ring databases after defeating the Smurf from the beginning of the universe? I'd do the same with my copies if I were them.

P.s. I just read to the part where they mention information sharing. But it still sounds more like a verbal transfer of information than just a quick file transfer to everyone from everyone.

Yeah, because power rings are totally incapable of accessing advanced computer systems.

Except they can.

Unless the Minbari have magic, and I mean actual magic, not techno-mage LARPing, then there's not much that can't be accessed.

He can just have the architect write her plans and then use the ring to age to documents so that they appear to come from when she was alive.

We draw some attention as we float through Tamarus, but not as much as I think Ian is used to. Or that he was expecting. He's staring at everything like a tourist, while Toni… Is looking a bit awkward, and is defensively pulling her jacket around her.

I gesture for Ian to head over to the local park, and fly over to her. "You alright?"

"Yeah..? Just… Self-conscious…" She stares as an athletic tamaranean woman in a bikini floats past, giving us a wave. I wave back. "Oh God, it's like being in the school showers again."

"Ah… Your physical development is within the normal bounds of a young woman your age?"

I get a mild glare, then she goes back to looking around. "How do they all..? Look like this?"

"Good diet, physical exercise, genetic engineering and inadvertent eugenics."

"Eugenics? You mean…? Like..? The kill the ugly on-"

"Nonono."

"-es? Oh, so… What do you mean?"

"The psions claimed that they engineered the first tamaraneans. I don't know if that's true or not, but the tamaraneans don't have a creation myth or creator deity. The nearest thing they have is X'Hal, and they know perfectly well that she isn't capable of creation."

Toni nods as I look around at the city. I don't know how much of this is their own reconstruction planning and how much is Adam Blake, but I wouldn't know that a few years ago this part of the city was a crater being reclaimed by nature. From what I saw, the rest of the world is benefiting from his sagacity in the same way. It all puts my efforts with Hub City in the shade.

"Between all the attacks that Tamaran has suffered, people who couldn't cope, died. People who couldn't adjust to how they needed to live, died. People who weren't as fit as they could make themselves, died. Tamaraneans are relentlessly upbeat in almost all circumstances, strongly inclined towards athleticism because they're so strong naturally that it actually impeded their technological development but left them looking like..."

A couple of tamaranean men flying past in their pants recognise me and wave. I wave back.

"Swim suit models."

"…yeah."

"If you like, I can get Artemis and Robin to suggest exercise programs? Artemis used to wear a costume that exposed her stomach so you know that she didn't have any issues."

"Yeah, I g-." She frowns. "Didn't you give them super strength?"

"Yes."

"Can't you do that for me?"

"Ah, not reliably. As you're a metahuman… That is to say, your physiological-."

"You can't do it because you-" She nods. "-don't know how my body will react."

"And since you're not eighteen, you can't just tell me to eyeball it." I shrug while smiling apologetically. "Sorry."

"Maybe I can get these chicks to tell me their diet plan."

"Ah, you could, but it's basically 'no refined sugar, added fat or labour-saving machinery'."

She nods. "Fruit, vegetables… Is meat okay?"

"As long as it's fresh." Hm. Alright, in Wanted that was part of the villain training… "Ah, how would you feeling about doing a shift in a slaughterhouse?"

"Pretty bad?"

"I ask because when we were dealing with Anarky's mind control crystals we came across Anarky impaled on a spear. Toyman was extremely distressed, which is perfectly normal but if the same thing happened to you it might be a distraction."

"I've seen dead people before."

"Yes, but did you see people who'd been torn apart?"

"… No. Do I..? Need to? I mean, is that just something that happens?"

"I saw bullet-ridden corpses with blood pouring out on my first mission with the team. It's not quite the same as seeing someone's insides outside, but it terms to how messed up it is, it's getting there."

"And… Um. Is that..? Normal?"

"For what? I mean… Not wanting to give anyone's secret identity away here, but Batman and Superman both started at twenty-one. Diana was sixteen when she joined in with World War Two. Robin… Ah. Wasn't yet in his teens when he started as Robin."

"Seriously?"

"Yah. I understand that other members of the League have made it clear how unimpressed they are about that. I-."

My ring blinks.

"Ah, just to be clear, you don't have to, but freezing up in a firefight can get you and everyone with you killed." I raise my left hand. "Answer."

Alan's face appears. "Paul, where are you right now?"

"Tamaran, with my students. Is something happening?"

"Ah, maybe. This is.. gunna sound a bit strange, but… Did you cure Alzheimer's?

"Not that I remember."

He frowns. "I thought you-." He freezes, and then nods, laughing. "Right, right, but… Did you?"

"No. I can cure neural degeneration in a single individual easily enough, but that wouldn't undo the basic tendency of the human body to self-destruct. Why do you ask?"

"Did you give something called an 'eye drive' to the League's commercial development team?"

"Oh, yeah, back in my first year. It's supposed to protect the person using it from memory wipes. I put it together after our first fight with Psimon. I just integrate it into my armour now…"

Wait…

"But it.. might help with Alzheimer's..? Early and mid stages, anyway. It wouldn't help once things got into the later stages… Honestly, it might help with normal age-related memory loss too."

"Yeah, that's what they're telling me. Catherine's… Having a bit of an.. episode. You don't need to drop everything right now, but you should probably head to the Hall of Justice… Ah, when you can."

Huh.

"Alright, sure. Probably be a couple of hours. Can you keep her calm until then?"

"Yes, but for once she's happy that you're giving her extra work. Good work, Paul."

And his face vanishes.

This is a pleasant surprise. I don't remember Paul doing this. Anyone remember when this happened?

Edit: Found it. It was in Episode 22: Minutes. Paul had it made with M'gann's help and he brought it out for himself and Kon to use in case Genomorphs tried to mess with their heads.

Not an actual eye patch like the one in Doctor Who -it needs skin contact over a larger area and M'gann couldn't work out why I wanted to block one of my eyes with it- it's designed to sit on the wearer's forehead like Seven of Nine's cyberbrow. "Human ingenuity and Martian biotechnology. It basically forms a backup of your short term memory. If anything tries to change your short term memory it compares what it's got stored with what you've got stored and uploads what you've been made to forget."
