  • Due to issues with external spam filters, QQ is currently unable to send any mail to Microsoft E-mail addresses. This includes any account at live.com, hotmail.com or msn.com. Signing up to the forum with one of these addresses will result in your verification E-mail never arriving. For best results, please use a different E-mail provider for your QQ address.
  • For prospective new members, a word of warning: don't use common names like Dennis, Simon, or Kenny if you decide to create an account. Spammers have used them all before you and gotten those names flagged in the anti-spam databases. Your account registration will be rejected because of it.
  • Since it has happened MULTIPLE times now, I want to be very clear about this. You do not get to abandon an account and create a new one. You do not get to pass an account to someone else and create a new one. If you do so anyway, you will be banned for creating sockpuppets.
  • Due to the actions of particularly persistent spammers and trolls, we will be banning disposable email addresses from today onward.

Broken Pictures

They've started disappearing for me in increasing numbers, and proxy images are refusing to load again.
Just checked my Reaction Image Dump and the substitute for the Manhattan Café one below the old one has broken now (at least on Phone). So looks like yer not the only one. That one was working before, would look like I doubled it for anyone who isn't getting this problem. I guess I'll need to find a third instance of the Image. Cache clearing still isn't working to fix it for me. So this seems to be an escalating problem on my end.

Yeah, I'm seeing the same thing here. At this point it really does seem like more than just a browser cache issue, especially with the proxy images failing again after temporarily coming back.

The fact that it's affecting different browsers, devices, and image hosts makes me wonder if something in the recent domain/migration changes is causing inconsistent image or proxy URLs to be cached. Hopefully the staff can track down what's actually breaking rather than everyone having to periodically clear their cache.

In the past 2 or so days I'm now seeing pictures braking that were perfectly fine even a few hours ago. And even more odd is some pictures that were broken for months, if not years, are working again for a few hours at a time before breaking again. I have tried this on Chrome, Firefox, Explorer, whatever that thing Apple has, and that green one some phones from Europe seem to use (no clue what it is and Google isn't helping).
I have tried all the tricks on an Apple IPhone 15, Android Galaxy A15 and A16, Windows 8, 10, and 11, and some form of Linux (no clue at all as it's a custom build from scratch.)
Even pictures less then 5 minutes old are bouncing working and just showing the broken picture icon.

...not gonna lie, seeing an increase in stuff that's breaking while seemingly limited to a very small amount of users (assumption based on amount of posts in this thread atm) is..very weird...
To drop some obvious questions the mods may ask in pursuit of answers
Anyone using VPNs?
Addons that affect site appearance/formatting?
Does your router have some IP blocked?
Have you looked up if your ISP provider has made any announcements/upgrades? (*very* rarely an ISP upgrading stuff can cause final user difficulties because accidental settings incompatibilities)
is QQ the only site where images are broken? If yes, have you tried opening a fresh browser with no tabs beyond the QQQ one and checked your internet isn't having issues? (Asking as rarely either too much tabs open, or an internet hiccup caused hat one of the websites I browse had all its' pictures broken for a day or two)

I have one on my Computer but I rarely turn it on. More use it to test Laws in other places for how they would impact my access to Sites like QQ.

Addons that affect site appearance/formatting?
Only the default Dark Mode in the Settings of QQ itself. Don't trust anything like that to not Download Viruses onto my machines and the QQ Dark Mode is satisfactory enough.

Does your router have some IP blocked?
Would block pictures from that IP but not proxies of those pictures from QQ. It also wouldn't allow you to see the Image in Editing (I still can). You also wouldn't be able to access the Site those are from. It's completely random. I literally have Image Dumps I can test this on, it's currently impacting me through my Manhattan Café Image Dump. Weirdly it seems to hate specific Images which shouldn't be possible (I've put up 3 of the same Manhattan Café Reaction Image from 3 different URLs tied to 3 different Reddits (luckily for me its become quite a well used Reaction Image on the Reddit UmaMusume Communities) and all 3 break 24~48 hours later).

Have you looked up if your ISP provider has made any announcements/upgrades? (*very* rarely an ISP upgrading stuff can cause final user difficulties because accidental settings incompatibilities)
Too many various people, wouldn't be uniform between Data and Internet. Wouldn't be semi-inconsistent between which sets of Images between Medium. Like I said it's really fucking weird.

I Know what that looks like and this ain't it. Too uniform and specific. Not completely random and inconsistent per Page Load. It also isn't impacting other Websites like that should.

In addition the URL Block Update from a while ago would block any from that specific Website but the uniformity isn't Website based but Image based. Again, like Renko's Signature Image or my Manhattan Café Reaction Image (and three others from the same Image Dump). All my Reaction Images are from Reddit. That is unless their Images are from a Blocked URL and the Code for the URL is somehow carried from one Proxy along to here but that feels more like Magic then something that's actually happening. It also would be happening sooner and I have seen what that actually looks like and this ain't it.

[Edit]
Correction: like 10 others now.

In order
Vpn: never even learned how to use them, so no.
Addons: none for any device I have tried except for the public library computer I tried while doing check. It was only a very basic ad blocker.
Router blocks: none, and was unaware you could do that.
IP issues: none so far besides the usual that anyone would have.
If QQ is the only site: 99% of the time since the issue was noticed. Sometimes SB and SV have issues, but that has already been reported there.

A point of data to add. Some pictures don't load until almost 5+ minutes after I'm on the page. They load for about 20-30 seconds then go back to a broken picture symbol, with a gibberish link attached above it about 30% of the time. And when I say gibberish, I mean it looks like someone smashed the keyboard a few times and added .com at the end.

Not gibberish: URL. I Know this because I recognize the ones in my Image Dumps that are breaking. The weird thing is it's cutting off the first half of the URL and some of the later parts so it's an excerpt of the URL. Images also doesn't show up in the QQ Image Viewer (clicking/tapping the Image brings it up). Only in Editing or Replies. It iust says an error occurs.

Sounds like the image proxy might be coughing up blood again, your connection might be laggy.
Try https://www.speedtest.net/ also I actually wrote a tampermonkey script a while back that bypasses the image proxy, you could also try that and see if it improves image load times for you, it should be around here somewhere.
