Happy Story of Seasons 30th and Rune Factory 20th anniversary, everyone! They teased 2 games in the celebration livestream. They showed off a new Story of Seasons, and a 36 second clip of RF6. Edit: the 36 second clip you can find on Gematsu's youtube channel if you search for "Rune Factory Anniversary". Should theoretically be one of the first few results. If anyone wants me to link it myself, I can.

SimCity is... kinda dead, and has been for over a decade, ever since the 2013 semi-live service multiplayer game flopped hard.

Cities Skylines came out around the same time, but was closer to a modern take on the classic SimCity formula than SimCity 2013 was... and while Cities 2 wasn't exactly a success, Paradox wasn't afraid to pull Cities 1 out of the archive and make more content for it.

(As long as you don't play Cities 1 on Switch, that is; Paradox does not have the best history of supporting their games on that console, and Cities only got a couple updates before support was dropped.)

Therefore, yes, Cities Skylines is a better fit for a Lego collab than SimCity.

Too many things are coming out in the next few months. I just added Shadows of the Road to the list of things coming out this year (November to more specific), I do not have the time for all these games.
 
Bloodstained: The Scarlet Engagement got pushed back to next year, so that basically puts my list of anticipated games for the rest of the year at 3, and they all come out soon. Sucker for Love: Crush Landing is out in like 4 days, Tohou 6 remake comes out September 9th, and Castlevania: Belmont's Curse is in mid October. There's a magical girl Action RPG called Kernel Hearts that's kind of caught my attention, but I'm probably gonna wait for a bit before buying that one. There's also a FPS platformer that looks similar to Ultrakill called Delta but it doesn't have a hard release date yet.

Okay so I was watching old streams of Fire Emblem Three houses. Just trying to recapture that 'first playthrough' feel.

Got to the part where Rhea is cradling the Sword of the Creator and the comment shows up in the stream

If you know Animal Crossing for the GCN, Wild World (for the DS), or City Folk (for the Wii), New Horizons will feeling fairly different.

That's because it uses the 3DS's New Leaf (including the big Welcome Amiibo update) as a base, add in some mechanics from the mobile entry Pocket Camp, and then give you even more tools to customize your town island (because yeah, you're on a reasonably large island now, instead of a chunk of coast as in previous games), including landscaping tools to let you get the layout juuuust to your liking (whereas in previous games, you would have to deal with whatever design you picked... or were given, in the GCN version).

As for gameplay... yeah, it's primarily single players, but ever since Wild World the series has allowed for multiplayer, but it's mostly for hanging out, gifting items to friends, showing off you town/island; you know, that kind of stuff. All the games are kinda set up to support multiple players sharing a system and save file, but the console entries (the original N64/GCN version, City Folk, and New Horizons) are better at it, under the logic that people are less likely to have multiple consoles and copies of a console game than they are a handheld and a handheld game (or even a phone/tablet and a F2P download).

That's... huh. It's not hard to understand, but describing it? That's tricky.

Fortunately, I know a LPer that did a fairly comprehensive playthrough of New Leaf as a LP (YouTube says this was 12 years ago, and likely in 2014), covering around a month and a half of daily gameplay, and coming back at least once a month or so for the next year to cover all the various holidays that didn't happen during the "main" LP, as well as tell a urban legend or two about the game (at this point, YouTube says the videos were posted 11 years ago, so 2015)... and then 3 years after that wrapped up (so 8 years ago, or 2018), he came back to do another month or so in the then two year old "Welcome Amiibo" update that New Leaf got in 2016.

 
Any games like Tropico but you're managing an unstable African Country and have to deal with a combination of post-colonial quagmires and diplomacy with not only neighboring countries but also intercontinental relations to increase national development?

Its not a Tropico like, but Rogue State and its remake Rogue State Revolution is sort of that, though its more Middle East than Africa.
 
I don't know how I kept sleeping on Incarnons in Warframe until now. It basically turns most low-to-mid-tier weapons into a godkiller(with appropriate build).

Anyway I shall return to farming for Niche weapons.

Because of the effort that goes into actually getting one and the fact that you can't just farm for the one you want if it's out of rotation?

I didn't bother for a long time either, the only reason I committed was because Soma was in rotation at one point and I really like the Soma.

For me it's less about what I want in rotation and more about giving me reason to use weapons that are usually taking up space. I'm having a lot of fun with Duel Doxocyst since it goes from standard semi-auto pistol with toxic damage for headshots to fully-automatic with high crit-damage. But overall it's fun.

Although now all I can think of is getting back into trading for prime parts I'm missing. I want my Styanax, Grendel and Vadarya.
 
I got to say, I appreciate the trend that Octopath Traveler 0 and now Final Fantasy Resonance are setting. Turning defunct Gacha games into actual games is a good thing and there needs to be more of it. Now if only that could happen with currently going mobile games.

Summarize Graveyard Keeper 1: guy gets Isekai'd into a fantasy land, gets a job as the, well, the local graveyard keeper, then discovers all sorts of secrets. It's a lot of Satire starting with Stardew Valley (the DLCs are even Named things like "Stranger Sins" and "Game of Crone"). The biggest secret is that the role of graveyard keeper is divinely ordained as punishment for the people as death previously wasn't a thing. Then they broke various tenants pissing off their god. The swamp witch and the tavern keeper and his wife are all immortals who were previously part of the ecclesiastical order while the Keeper is incapable of dying while in the role of Keeper. You sell corpsestarch burgers and have a zombie army to work your crops.

Replaying Stellar Blade and messing around with the DLCs (they weren't a thing back when I first played the game), the Nikke one already makes the game infinitely better because dog. You can indeed pet the good boy which makes the DLC a 10/10. The minigames are alright, showing that I ain't missing anything by not having played Nikke at all.
 
For a lot of gacha "not missing anything by not actually playing them and just looking at the gals" is an accurate summary tbh lol.
