Video Games General

I mean considering we had that "just gun ghosts down lmao" Japanese game a bit back fisting them feels like a good followup tbh

I've currently hit a wall in Queen's Domain, myself. There's one last area I haven't been able to get to and I don't know what I'm missing. I've found what I think is the door to it but I have no idea how to open it. There's either something I'm forgetting, a lever or button I'm just not seeing, or this is actually an exit from the area instead of an entrance.

Can't help you with that. My playthrough has been mostly mucking about so far. I'm still at the magic tower, and spent the last few hours grinding all my weapons to max level at that spot with a flood of book bugs if you start triggering gargoyles. Accidentally made a hoard of over 200 fresh healing herbs, so I can probably also ungabunga my way through the rest of the game now.

Will stay for a while and grind exp for Pandora though, since that sword doesn't seem to have a level cap.

I found someone else who asked about it. Turns out the door I found was indeed not the entrance, though it did lead to the right place. I'll have to check it out later but, apparently the actual entrance was something I probably never would have found cuz it's real out of the way and it wouldn't have occurred to me to check there.

Well, I have both the Ocarina of Time remake and the Godzilla: Destroy All Monsters MELEE Remaster coming this week...

Godzilla is one where I'm really hoping that the remaining maps get released in an update since it already includes Kiryu in it, so Smashburg, Boxing Ring, and Home World really need to come back.

Maybe they could also finish Baragon since he was all but finished and has some really odd things that were left if you used a game shark to unlock him...he was only scrapped because the PS2 version of GDAMM was cancelled and it was late in development

Potentially a reworked version of the Heisei Mechagodzilla since they have the skin but just model swapped him for the remaster to the Showa one.

Maybe its because I was not a Nintendo kid growing up so I never played Ocarina, but I decidedly meh on the remake. It just does not interest me in the slightest.
I didn't get my own N64 until shortly before the GameCube came out, my brother had one right as it came out though and I'd played it a decent amount, I had a Dreamcast followed by a playstation.

The original game is still a good one, though I'd suggest the 3D versions for the 3DS if you want the original feel, they have some slight modifications to them, the remake is one that looks interesting with the stylistic changes along with it looking like there is some of the cut content finished and it actually designed to work with the controls means there's not the constant irritation that the NSO versions of OoT and MM have for me.

I'm also really hoping that the rumors are true about Nintendo actually managing to get all the parts of their old broadcast games Zelda game and might have it in working order and able to actually make it a single thing that could go with the NSO stuff.

Spent a whole weekend playing Armaphract, RTWP urban tactics (sometimes described as Doorkicker with tanks but you get infantry too).
Can take cute girls as crew.

Alright, I know it's Power Wash Simulator, but I also knew it was going to have some weird, potentially supernatural ending to story mode. Maybe saving the world somehow. I expected something like that, especially when the volcano kept coming up and started appearing on the horizon, smoking.

What I didn't expect was to be worshiped as a water god by the ancient not-Atlanteans (the city is in the Pacific.)

And apparently there's a Potato Peeling game now:

Naturally, it's currently 89% Positive on Steam. Not sure how I feel about this.

It was a bit of a collect all the things ordeal and a half but, I got all the endings for Queen's Domain. It doesn't go into it super deep but there's some neat setting notes.
What starts off seemingly as being a fantasy setting ends up actually being science-fantasy. Then you go deep underground after making your way through a massive mausoleum on your quest to slay the avatar of a goddess of the void, the titular Queen Siraatsu, and you find a gun, some grenades, and a lot of cranky robots.

After a very long time, I found the place where they store the forbidden knowledge. The entire game world is in a series of giant caverns, even the island you start on. That's about the time it occurred to me that I'd never actually seen where the sunlight was coming from on the "surface." The sky is a slightly oddly colored cloudy mess with no indicator of where the sun might be. Then you start to notice things like a temple deep underground having a crack in its ceiling where similar looking light shines out of despite it very much not leading to the surface.

The gods are alien beings and imbue avatars with power for unclear reasons. The goddess of the void turned out to be the miserable soul of the last member of a long extinct alien species. It's kinda hard to describe but, it's a bit like a potato if it was a dinosaur and had a symbol for a face.

The last avatar of another goddess turned out to be a woman who fled to this planet to escape from killer robots. You can even find her spaceship and one of the robots lurking around hunting her after all this time. That avatar, after defeating the avatars of most of the other gods, declared the advanced technology and extradimensional dabbling forbidden and demanded it be sealed and forgotten underground while people go back to living simpler lives.

Another god built a moon, which no one has ever seen because they're underground, to collect the souls of the dead. Because he apparently didn't like the souls just lingering around so he built a place for them to be. You actually can see a few spirits get picked up: the symbol of the god appears behind them and they disappear.

There's also the Dekanima, a dimension where everything is made of living metal that people used to summon things from and craft weapons with. It's implied this may be the source of the magic in some of your weapons. Ancient weapons imbued with living extradimensional metal with strange effects and that's why some of them can change form.

All in all I enjoyed the game, though I do think people should be aware of what they're getting into before they buy it. It's not a soulslike or a Zelda type game. It's very specifically in the style of the King's Field games, in both gameplay (for the most part, you do actually have some cool mobility options) and how cryptic it can be, especially the ending requirements. Explore everything, poke those walls, look around every corner, look up and down. There's stuff everywhere.
