    Have you considered using Tinker of fiction, inspired inventor or marvelous mage (basically II but magic)

    I've thought about ToF, it's the sort of thing that would take quite a bit of planning though, and I don't really plan my fics very much. I've not heard of marvelous mage, but I imagine that would be a similar deal, needing to plan it out to get something either OP or useless. Never say never, but I don't have any imminent plans for writing stuff involving those things.

    Marvelous mage is just inspired inventor but instead of putting points into tech trees you put points into magic systems I.E. elemental magic/ward magic/magitech so on and so forth
    I've read most of your fics and they are both different and well written.
