Heyya Swift, recently got into messing around with Waifu Catalouge Builds. I had a few questions as someone coming into something that seems pretty developed.

2.) For the Standard Stamp, what does "Empty Hand" do? I don't really understand how it works as compared to having the Stamp or the other Binding Methods.
    Seraphim05
    Seraphim05
3.) How would I go about suggesting Companions and Worlds, whether modified versions of currently available ones or new ones? Mainly asking cause I made a DDLC build but it felt off due to the rating of Monica or the lack of description if the difficulty was based on being in the world "Player" or "Player Character".
    Seraphim05

4.) Similar to the Companions and Worlds, is there a way to create suggestions for other parts of the Catalouge? I saw the Custom Elements and the Shroud section and thought it was pretty interesting that people got theirs in.

Hey Swift, I got a couple of questions.

Regarding the optimal asset value for missions... If you have companions that go over that limit, can they remain inside your pocket dimension/Demiplane and even communicate with you via all the communication options from your bindings as long as they don't step in the world that the mission is taking place?
    Lord_Indoril_Nerevar
    Lord_Indoril_Nerevar
And... If you do a powerswap, and then apply a template stack atop it. Can you use both set of powers at the same time, or must you swap between one and the other as it is in the case between multiplate templates?
Hi Swift, quick question, does 'sex' count as a Primal Element?
It seems just as fundamental as any other one, is found anywhere there's life, and like say 'fire' it isn't any more complicated than a given species chooses to make it.
    SwiftRosenthal
    SwiftRosenthal
No. As of three weeks ago, the current text no longer uses "fundamental" due to this sort of confusion.
    Primalparadox
    Confusing...
    Okay, I guess

Hey Swift, could You tell me what rating would You give to the Farcry 2 setting?

A third-world african country that's in the middle of a vicious civil war that has seen all of it's government and infrastructure collapse, to the point that it no longer has a national currency and the only thing that is accepted as coin is blood diamonds.
Hey Man, this has probably been answered elsewhere, but for the life of me, I can't seem to find it. When using the Mystic Tattoo binding, the base perk 'Seal of Approval' says that marks made on you are only cosmetic. Does this only apply to the seal, or across the board so you can't self-enchant?
    icedragon894
Its super weird that you can buy space Ereshkigal and space Ishtar but not regular Ereshkigal and Ishtar unless its in the top 100 or random character app I under stand that there specific perks but you wound need A Tohsaka Rin for ether of them even when they are there own character like Senji Muramasa
    SwiftRosenthal
    SwiftRosenthal
When you're buying a regular Ishtar or Ereshkigal, what you're actually doing is placing a Rin in your shopping cart and applying the respective perk before purchase. Same thing for Muramasa or Jaguar Warrior or Sitonai or any other Pseudo-Servant. Space Ereshkigal and Space Ishtar are separate existences from their main timeline pseudo-Servant counterparts and thus don't have perks to upgrade from them.
    Herox1000
    A question for missions.

For Missions, do you get the additional objective rewards even if you fail the main objective? Or can you only get all the rewards if you complete the overall objective? Also, can you give up on an active mission and choose another one that appears? Can someone tell me?
    Lifkinthetroll
How does it work if you capture a waifu with a leveling system? Do you get it to? Do I have to buy a special perk? Can someone tell me?

So then if I bought someone from a gaming world like asuna from sao or someone from a leveling world like darkness from konosuba would I get there leveling system? Or would i need to find someone like a admin like the fire maiden from dark souls?
    SwiftRosenthal
    SwiftRosenthal
There's also the matter of chosen intensity options. One group of them covers this explicitly.
    Lifkinthetroll
    Lifkinthetroll
Hmm? Is that in interactive? Or just the written? If so could you tell me which one? I looked over them in interactive but couldn't find it. Unless you mean the automatic connection option. Though I was under the impression that that only applies to worlds you go to. Not characters you buy.
"If you purchase a Heritage Root after chargen, you must first activate it in-character before it will take effect."

Could that be anymore vague? Like that could be anything from getting a dragon heart in the mail and going through an hour long change after eating it, to getting kidnapped by a van from The Company that drops you off in the middle of an alien wilderness for a six month spirit quest.
    TJHooker83
I've spent the last three hours scouring for any hint of a clue as to the general scope of the activation requirement, nadda.
    SwiftRosenthal
    SwiftRosenthal
The point of the rule is to get your MC to go out and touch some grass by doing something narratively appropriate and interesting. (I'm aware that this is asking a lot from most writers.) If you're aiming for a dragon heart to eat, you'll have to go out and hunt one down yourself, and the world you're in might not even have dragons around to hunt.
I was reading the catalogue and saw that frisk chara and flowey are in my opinion way to high tier. They just have mental time travel when they don't have their special power ups so maybe make them tier 7 and give them perks that give them tier X you can call charas the demon that comes when you say their name Frisk's can be save the world and flowey's can be god of hyperdeath.
    SwiftRosenthal
    SwiftRosenthal
Undertale has zero official representation in the catalog. I didn't play the game when it came out, and as the hype built up and the fandom went crazy, I decided that I never would. Whatever their ratings are in an interactive - whether the old interactive or the new official one - I can say with certainty that I wasn't involved.
    Who404Who
With the addition of a new full binding, in the future when we have more variety in bindings do you think there would be a spot to allow another or multiple bindings or is that something you never want to include in WC? I really like the utility of the Mystic Tattoo binding but i don't think i would want it as my primary binding and reselling/hot swaping binding would be awkward and a waste of points.

What about the multiple bindings dlc on interactive?
    SwiftRosenthal
    SwiftRosenthal
It's deliberately absent from the official interactive.
    Lifkinthetroll
    Lifkinthetroll
I see. So then do dlc perks and options just not matter in these conversations? If so then it might be better to say something like "that's covered in a dlc but as far as I'm concerned you can only have one binding" or is my suggesting that overstepping?

Hi Swift! If I buy or possess Barry Allen/The Flash, does he still have the connection to the speedforce or will the power be internalised and if he goes to the DC Univere will he be connected to the speedforce?
    SwiftRosenthal
    SwiftRosenthal
That's a background magical field. There's an explicit rule for that kind of thing.

Hi! Swift just a quick question about heritage
Outsider heritage has that you need to be invited to other universes first does trajectory agreement fix that
    SwiftRosenthal
    SwiftRosenthal
Trajectory Agreement is homebrew, and even if it was approved it wouldn't fix that. The way to "fix" it is to send some of your subjects to a world first so that they can set up the conditions for your invitation.
    Hi Swift,
I got a question that's been bothering me for a while now and neither the interactive nor written versions explain it. Does Paper Trail provide a home or do you need Stronghold to provide a visible home? Living out of a Pocket Plane would raise questions virtually anywhere eventually.
    SwiftRosenthal
    SwiftRosenthal
You have mind control options. If you can't think of ways to use them to secure housing then you're not even trying. You don't even have to target canon characters. "MILF widow with a large estate" is a personal favorite.
    Hey Swift,
I'm wanting to play with Alterzelu in Subnautica, can Larva capture fauna or only sapients? And can Globsters function underwater? I love the bioluminescensent style of that world and want it all included in my ecology. Lol also are Creep & structures okay with a whole lot of lava?
    SwiftRosenthal
    SwiftRosenthal
Larva only capture sapients, but creep can be upgraded to auto-assimilate flora and fauna. Globsters can operate in water but aren't as maneuverable in it as skitterers. A volcanic-element Alterzelu ecosystem would logically have a lot of open lava flows.
    Primalparadox
It says stationary unresisting targets on the Creep get assimilated in the rules so I figured Aquatic creatures that never touch the sea floor would need Larva or some other way? As for Skitterers... I don't wanna have sex with fish dude....
Just to clarify Subnautica is entirely set underwater, sorry haven't meet anyone unfamiliar with it in years.
    Primalparadox
Never mind, I just discovered the written Catalog (I've only used the interactive before) and wow man, so much better. Thanks a tonne for all the work you've put into this it's given me endless fun for ages now.

    P.S.
Strongholds are so much better than the lite version in the interactive, love it. Awesome stuff man, thank you.

swift does one need to visit RWBY to buy added Potential for Aura
    SwiftRosenthal
    SwiftRosenthal
Either visit the place (anyone in your retinue can do this, not just you personally) or have someone in your retinue who already has Aura.

The actual problem with using AP for Aura specifically is that it's already shareable on its own. You can just get it from someone who already has it.

Thanks and does the perk Inexhaustible also work for retinue members

Hey, how would you rate the Saint Seiya/Knights of the Zodiac verse, Since the power scaling is completely crazy and can change from one day to the other?

    Yo' swift

I got a reader who is upset because I decided not to include Patrons in My latest story and is berating me because I decided they don't exist for my story.

So, I just wish to know what's your oficial stance about that particular DLC?

If you look at the worst (most shamelessly OP) homebrew that still exists on the interactive, you'll see that same name pop up all over the place.

The second batch of patrons were made from scratch by a few people in the interactive catalog's discord and replaced the first for the interactive. They're markedly less bad than the originals, but still quite bad.

...Wait, that's who your angry reader is? Ignore him outright. I've known him on the three forums for over ten years and he's always been a backseating asshole.

Eh, some of them are OK. Isekai Genie is great as-is, and the Fae are a great excuse for your character to have to smooth-talk. As long as they only interact with missions I think they could be great, but the Outsider buying you a thousand point perk and Death letting you stamp corpses is way over the line.
    Chronosign
The only one I really liked was the MHA one, Jaune is an unstable mess that wants to use violence first but never uses that damn stamp with zero subtlety. 60-63 was where I quit and lost hope of it improving with how he was talking out of his ass about the multiverse to Pyrrha. The only reason I'm not condemning him is that it was his early work and the MHA one actually shows character improvement.
    Chronosign
Okay, awhile ago you said "Eww. His protagonists are all self-righteous, hypocritical assholes, and when he defends their actions in the comments he shows that the self-insert angle is far more accurate than he realizes or ever intended." about Leecifer's Waifu Catalog Stories. And yeah, after reading a bit of the RWBY I see what you mean and completely agree at least when it comes to that story.

    Hey, swift.

How much do you believe a generic vehicle from a setting should cost? The cheapest Cars cost 5 credits but they are all iconic.

Say, if I were to go to Mass Effect and instead of wanting the Mako, the Normandy, or Even the hangar bay shuttle; I would instead want to buy through the catch a ride one of those generic aircars that appear in the cutscenes.

How much credits something like that should cost?
    Lord_Indoril_Nerevar
    Lord_Indoril_Nerevar
I ask, because there's some setting with a wide range of vehicles like cyberpunk which are not necesarilly iconic.

I mean if you were to tell me V's Halla cost 5 credits because it's iconic I would consider that a rip off because the car is pretty meh and basic.

5 credits I would understand for the Rayburn Caliburn, Guinivere Aerondight, Chevillon Emperor. But the Halla...?
    SwiftRosenthal
    SwiftRosenthal
I can't give a flat cost. It depends on the setting and vehicle.
    Lord_Indoril_Nerevar
Heya swift! Just a quick question. The catalog is pretty clear about curing physical ailments with body tune up but what about magical ones?

Say a waifu has a soul bound that says,.this characters is linked with another, if one dies the other will follow. So, if you capture the waifu will she still have the soul link or will it dissapear? Or do you need some other defense, in that case, which one?
Hey Swift just wondering about the new binding choices, Familiars Only, what does that mean exactly? They're just loyal? So is that like "won't go to the cops if your killing people" or just "won't tell someone your afraid of spiders?" can't find anything informative.
Hi Swift, been wondering. Could Body Tune-Up be use to bring undead back to live, or would that be too much? Have been looking for a way to bring back Sylvanas form WoW back to life.
    SwiftRosenthal
    SwiftRosenthal
With unsouled undead, those are just animated corpses. Nobody's home and there's nothing to even capture. With souled undead, undeath is their current natural state and you'll want some other way to make them fully alive again.
    fireball77
Hello! Perhaps this is a question you've been asked too many time, but how exactly do you determine a tier in the WC? If becoming a dragon brings an OC to T6, as they gain more power, how would an author know when said OC is T7 and so forth? Is there a specific criteria? I read the WC but I don't quite understand it
