    Acknowledgement fuels everyone! Or at least most people imo. Likes may just be meaningless internet points with no intrinsic value, but I argue they still represent something very important to the growth of confidence and self-esteem.

    Quite simply, the fact that someone enjoys what you have to say or share or write enough to click that button is always a fantastic feeling, as it should be!

    That's a reasonable reason, though I couldn't say how many people are really going through likes on smut posts to try and find out who likes something or not xD Even I barely do that for my own posts. Also I would argue that the mere fact you're here on this site under that handle isn't helping you if you're afraid of censure or judgement :P
