I would recommend doing research, if you don't already. Find accounts of people who have actually experienced the things you are describing.

Hah, I heard it's really awesome and immersive/addictive on the level of Factorio. I've heard the same on Horizon Zero Dawn too, though, so my dilemma is real.

 

I hear both spoken highly of.

Perhaps you should decide based on whih of Japanese folklore or post apocalypses most appeal to you?

The odds are pretty good that you would enjoy either or both, so it doesn't really matter which you pick. (Or which order you pick them, as the case may be.)

Why not stop worrying about optimising your enjoyment and just go out and enjoy something?

It's the star wars quest Star Wars: Officer Rising 2.0.

The players wanted to go to the Republic Navy and eventually the Imperial Navy when Order 66 hit. So they focus build on making an awesome leader but completely neglected to develop their diplomacy stat, the GM is now scrambling to give them a way to boost it but has even admitted they may not have the time in quest to do so.

Mind you it's a failure on both sides since the qm hasn't broken down the mechanics and the players failed to realize they needed it.

 

Wow, not only do I have less inspiration, I also feel like shit now. That's fucking wonderful.

 

I know those feels. Unfortunately I don't have good advice to go with it, since I'm still struggling with that sort of thing myself.

 

When that happens, just don't write. Draw, paint, play video games, read, build something, eat something, do laundry, watch videos on YouTube, play with a cat, take a nap, read webcomics, just don't dwell on it. Inspiration will return given time, but not if you let yourself feel guilty over your lack of inspiration.

Just had this weird dream. I was in school and the teacher was telling us some myth about a man who goes among barbarians to teach them, and how every time he teaches them something they rebel against him but fail because he still knows far more than they. Then the teacher noticed me being bored and decided I was a rebel who needed disciplining, giving like a 10 minute lecture in the middle of class and ending it by using a power drill as a throwing knife, drilling a hole in my shoulder. As he was walking away I pulled out the drill with the other hand and stabbed him in a lung with it.

I'm idly wondering how legal it is to return deadly force on someone who's just grievously wounded you but has seemingly stopped attacking.

By "inspiration" do you mean "ideas" or just the ability to get words on the page?

 

An inability to get words onto paper is my ailment. I can brainstorm all day and have half a dozen ideas pop up, but writing them down into something is something that is an ability that seems sadly lost to me. I could do it easily one or three years ago, but now? Pffft.

 

Pretty sure that falls under some self defense clause. At the very least you can claim temporary insanity because it was a crime of passion (strong emotions and spontaneous crime)

Oh lawd, I am so happy with the new episodes for Samurai Jack so far. Yes, Aku's voice is different, but it's addressed and in an amusing and very AKU fashion.
