General CYOA Thread

To complain about it ;P

CYOA's are kind of amusing to create but the resulting fics just aren't that interesting. They're either broken and overpowered on some level to the point where they completely obliterate the setting to the point of insensibility just to prove how broken you can make it go.

Half the reason I started my own yoke was to rail against them.

The adventure chooses you.

 

Wildbow doesnt read comic or doesnt really know much about superman. IE doesnt know much about his other power beside flight, invulnerability, heat vision, and strength

Also some wildbow quote literally contradict eachother
Saitama > Superman? silver age him too? LOL you obviously doesnt know superdickery

Afterall we are talking about the guy who do this on a daily basis

 

This was actually covered at one point, and yeah Wildbow doesn't have much anymore knowledge than a casual reader of comics would. They should know about x-ray vision at least and the basic stuff but all the high end things and more esoteric powers are obscure enough they wouldn't be expected to know of them.

 

Yep, and aquaman literally control Ocean creature, including the one that is from space as long as that shit live in water or something in their life/ancestor he can do shit to it

 

Eh, Leviathan being controlled by Aquaman is still super iffy at best, endbringers are basically artificial constructs (so totally escape the from water bit as nothing in them evolved from anything aquatic) and probably is closer to a golem or robot that's probably not even vulnerable to telepathy than anything that should really fall in their purview, plus the whole multiversal thing should screw with any attempts as most things in DC tend to work on a per universe basis so even something like a universal range power is unlikely to work properly.

Eh, hard science in that it's sci-fi and generally is fairly hard, the higher end stuff tends to get squirrely. Most likely they'll look it at as new things and try and study it though, I mean that is their goal, learn enough to fix things, although you could probably fix things anyway.

Scion sees magic, realises the problems can be solved, and then retires to study all the new science and magic and work to keep the universe together?

Question: has anyone, apart from the creator, ever actually used one of the myriad CYOA variations 'Gazer spawns like lemmings?

 

Some of those changes come from the build I made in the NSFW thread. Apparently taking Taylor, Danny, Annette, and Taylor's Shard as reincarnation targets all at once was bad.

But Hebert Prime had to be made, ever since I first saw those drawbacks it was on my list of things to do at some point.
