Caine: I miss Jabal *will not talk about Abel in front of others*

TBF, he probably does miss Jabal, who... is in a hole in the ground protecting a fuckload of Caine blood I think? Probably some timey wimey fuckery going on.

But also truuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuue.

Right so what we need is an Uma Revenant quest here on QQ.

Some DA Tzim and ... well Salubri Warrior are the knightiest imo, but Ventrue or Lasombra would also fit. Actually a really artistic Toreador knight could be fun.

One to breed, one to be the face. And more investment. Then they can sell stock to the various Vampiric knight orders throughout the dark ages. And buy since iirc in the v20 DA books it mentions that 'oopsie revenant horse' lines happen quite a bit in the Dark Ages.

They get together and are like 'Revenant horses!' and over time that becomes 'Revenant horse girls!'

So the quest would start in like... Before the War of Princes? So the ranch would have to survive all the way to modern nights. Probably something like 5 year turns? Maybe ten?

I always interpreted Jabal being the favorite ghoul respected more than many Antes being due to the fact that bible Jabal was the animal breeding descendant of Caine and thus the one who reminded him of his brother

Ok. New to this thread, but I have a question for yall

Do y'all like the VTM clans or the VTR clans better? The Apocalypse or Forsaken Tribes?

I think everyone agreed the Lost was better than the Dreaming when it came to changelings

Overwhelmingly, but not entirely, the oWoD lore is better. I can confirm this from a personal position.

I cannot confirm, but have heard that the reverse is true about rules and mechanics. nWoD typically has superior mechanics.

And then there's 5th and '5th' editions. Which routinely pisses on oWoD lore but includes stripped down nWoD mechanics so it's... a thing, yeah.

For VTR clans I like the way Requiem did the Nosferatu bane and I liked the Mekhet but overall prefer VTM clans and lore

There are times where I look at mechanics and are a bit confused like Praenastia

Id say the vtm clans have far more charm. A few of the updates were ok departing from previous stereotype stuff. I like the Hecata as a concept rather than just "the Necromancers are all Italian guys" and the new Ravnos weakness. The discipline merging (looking at you Oblivion) was pure bleh and the only one I liked was Serpentis getting folded into other stuff. I liked the VTR nossie weakness better too as well. Less same-y than just "you look fugly."

I think my only issue with the werewolf tribes on owod was that they were just…..so specific. "What if these werewolves were all irish?", "what if they were all Eastern Europeans", "what if they were just native Americans?"

Owod in general just has more personality (still think dreaming was dumb though lol)

As a just lore nerd thing, you can track kindred migration more or less from day one with the exception of South/Latin America because we don't really get much on the Drowned Legacies.

Presumably Kindred Civilization started in the Middle East. Tzimisce is the only one who is weird in that he might not have come from there depending on if you interpret his ties to Eastern Europe as not being adopted/magical. Canonwise, most of the early migration seems to have been north and to the east with people moving over into the Indus Valley. Likely due to Saulot having gone there and come back with stories about Golconda, possibly his third eye if he didn't get it from Malkav.

From here we get more or less definitive evidence that Ravnos and Ennoia went to the east and seemingly fought the Kuei-Jin before they had a falling out and most of Ennoia's get went south to Africa or north to Scandinavia. The existence of the Anda however points to her having gone further east at some point. Similarly, even if Tzimisce didn't do it personally, one of his earliest Childer went to India and made numerous fledgelings. The Ventrue arrived early enough to deeply insert themselves into the Brahmin caste with the possibility that they might be the oldest lineage of ventrue. Which has interresting implications as they have Blood Magic as an in clan discipline instead of Presence. That they claim to be the guardians of Veddhartha and Mithras's lore identifies such a person as his sire would imply that either they are correct and that is the Ventrue Ante or that Mithras is a diablerist who ate a 4th gen, but that would still put there being an even older Ventrue with an Indian sounding name as one of the Antediluvian's first childer. What is a bit weird here is that the Setites have the Daitya bloodline who have the same version of blood magic as the Ventrue Danava as a clan discipline instead of Serpentis. This is likely intended to be due to them slowly dropping Set from their practices.

Interesting, the Daitya bloodline had a further breakage from a sect that became buddhist. We do not get much on these guys, but it would be on point for them to have moved along to other parts of Asia following Buddhist prosyletism and their conflict with the Daitya. Similarly, the Anda Gangrel were tied to the mongols who did make it all the way to the Korean Peninsula and tried to invade Japan a few times.

Additionally, Lasombra pirates could have moved through the seas or abyss out east and embrace Wokou pirates. Gangrel have their whole Mariner faction as well which would allow them to spread basically anywhere.

More definitively we know that both Lasombra and Tzimisce went down south to the other parts of Africa with Lasombra interacting with the Maasai in Kenya and Tzimisce turning a dude inside out. We know a lot of this happened in about 8000bc which would be well before the hot dry phase with made the Sahara into what we think of it now, so there would have been less of a geographic problem for Antediluvians to have gone down there. If anything, the desertification would have been what separated vampire communities (need for herds to travel out there unless you have like elder celerity).

So, if you don't use Kuei-Jin in lore you'd expect a lot of Ravnos, Gangrel, Setites, Ventrue, Lasombra, and Tzimisce over in the east if using just the lore from previous editions. With a lot of blood sorcery used by a bunch of them. Possibly Cappadocian or other necromancers as they could go to the underworld and pop back up over there.

edit

also another point of me screaming at the screen when it comes to the Chinese Room vampire game.

They made it so your main way of unlocking vampire powers which it implies you had before is by drinking the blood of other vampires in a potion. Multiple times. As in you should be partially blood bonded to over half a dozen vampires by the time you complete the game.
