Neither was saying to get rid of the Credit.I get your point, but what I'm saying is that the Credit never actually becomes genuinely worthless, otherwise you're saying ALL of those currencies were worthless simply because they weren't universally accepted and valuable. Stockpiling precious resources is a good idea regardless, but getting rid of the credit simply means shutting out any kind of economic connections with tbe New Republic when it forms up.
Honestly, my suggestion is working with the Intergalactic Banking Clan to create some kind of effective currency conversion system. That would be something EVERYBODY would find zomewhat valuable.
He was talking about stockpiling material, and things like the Peggat, or any of the other Hutt currencies. That actually brings up another possibility. I wonder if Las can stock up on other forms of currency or valuables? Once the imperial currency goes kaput, Minda is going to need a reserve of something else to keep the economy afloat.
The destruction of the first Death Star should be a good enough excuse to "safeguard against economic instability" given the Death Star blew up the economy as well as planets. Heck Minda might end up being a beacon of financial stability in this part of the Outer Rim.
He was talking about making our own version of the Credit, to prepare for the previously mentioned fall of the Imperial Credit. And yes it does fall, read the quote again, it doesn't say the Imperial factions are still using the Credit just their own currencies, and the New Republic Credits aren't worth much, given that the last value given to them was 25 for 1 Imperial, pre-Endor. So, yeah no one is saying to kill the Credit but you, also any conversion system would be denied legitimacy by both the New Republic and the Empire Factions, making a currency unconnected to either side, that's widely used, available, and recognized? That has actual value.Best bet would be to issue his own local currency and have the guild act as a currency exchange as well. That way when imperial currency dies and everyone starts setting up their own, he will not only be ahead of the curve, but be ready to facilitate exchange between them. All without his direct input and thus further failing upwards.
