I can only imagine Palpatine learning of the Eternal Empire Cultists and instead of sending Vader to deal with OLD Sith, the Emperor does out for an Enthusiastic Walk to have a little chat with the Cultist. Meanwhile Las is freaking the fuck out because the Emperor is coming and his little corner of the Empire isn't evil enough, later it turns out he's willing to overlook things because Las' PDA's make his eternal battle with paperwork less eternal.

Also, I'm seeing a lot of talk of greater Imperial attention or issues coming about this, but would the symbol even be recognized?

It's been thousands of years after all, with a Dark Age put in there to boot. Knowledge of the Eternal Empire isn't going to be well known, if at all. And even if Palpy knows enough to recognize the symbol, I feel by the time he sees the information, the event will have already been dealt with- especially as the Seventh Brother won't be calling for reinforcements outside of perhaps local assistance.

This is his effort to make up for his prior failure. Calling in Inquisitorial backup or even getting Vader involved is not going to be an option if he wants to survive with this being what will get him back into good graces.

i think the high number of governors leading operations in starwars media might be a mixture of the imperial hierarchy being firmly rooted in the military (governor, moff & grand moff are military ranks), obsessive need of control (since if the people who had their tasks entrusted by the official fuck up it's the official's fault too), arrogance and mustache twirling

Uh, no. The TOR smuggler has literally the worst ship in the entire fandom. That freighter's floorplan is designed to make getting anywhere in the ship be as tedious and time consuming as possible. I legit rage quit, deleted the character, and never made another smuggler within the first 20 minutes of getting that piece of shit.

My head canon is that it was actually a competing design for the same contract with the Sith PC ship wound up getting. Only in universe explanation for that garbage layout is if it's literally designed to passively hone the passenger's connection to the darkside via sheer frustration at the constant inconvenience. Which also means that unlike the other PC ships, it not having any indoor plumbing actually makes sense.

I can't imagine why it would be. While the Eternal Empire was very impressive and a big deal in wild space for quite some time, what I'm seeing on the wiki is that it literally ceased to exist as a relevant galactic power within six years of revealing itself to the galaxy at large.

Like, the whole thing just stopped mattering as soon as the plot line wrapped up, because it was written for the Old Republic MMO and you want things to go back to normal by the end of the story. The odds of that being significant enough to still be noted in history books beyond a paragraph or two even a few hundred years later are slim, and after 3500 years I can't see anyone caring.

Furthermore, there is absolutely zero chance that our protagonist is going to call for help, especially from Vader or the Emperor, because avoiding notice by the galaxy at large is such a huge priority for him that he's figuratively throwing away money into a giant pit to avoid appearing too successful. Seventh Brother, as has been mentioned, also has motive to just handle this himself, because he needs a win. Running back to daddy Vader for help is not a win.

Honestly this is going to probably be handled with lots of explosives and mechs. They're hiding in a cave, after all. Just seal the exits and fill the place with enough ordenance to liquify everything inside and bury what's left under a half million tons of rubble.

The problem is the cave system is fairly close to Edinspire. Not right next door, but close enough that a civilian vessel can probably reach it within a hour or two.

Just sealing off the entrances and blowing the tunnels up might destroy the problem, but there is always the risk that something might be missed. To say nothing if any old facilities are hardened against bombardment. This is the Eternal Empire we are talking about.

That would make any expansion in that direction potentially dangerous if any of those hundreds of zombies wind up living to cause problems down the road. One zombie could cause problems for years and be an absolute pain to track down.

No the most thorough route is to send people into those tunnels and clearing them out manually, and mechanically. Make sure everything is dead the first time when they are all gathered in one location. The fact this allows Las to pilfer old Eternal Empire tech has nothing to do with my advocacy.

I think the only time I did much with a smuggler is before I burned out on the game when they had their big event that included things like getting one of every class through all of their story as account things.

That drove me nuts by the end and then their system glitched out at the end of it and wasn't counting some of the things towards completion with the higher difficulties.

See, I keep seeing enormous fandom boners for the Eternal Empire but everything I read makes them sound wildly unimpressive.

As I understand the story, Tenebrae's force ghost fucked off to wild space, and possessed a guy called Valkorian. Then over a few centuries he uplifted Valkorian's planet to be his personal playground, conquered all the other local primitive worlds with the overwhelming advantage of modern technology, declared this his 'Eternal Empire', and used the riches of those worlds to live the high life.

The only thing special was the fleet he found (not built!), which was entirely defeated within five years of trying to use it against anything other than wild space primitives. It did manage to blitzkrieg the Republic and the Sith while they were busy fighting each other and also weakened by the Rakghoul plague and hold their capitols hostage to force them to pay tribute, but that only lasted as long as it took the Sith and Republic to stop stepping on each other's dicks.

The only real innovation was badly copying the energy source from the magic space fleet to build space stations that had badly contained fusion explosions as an (admittedly, wildly powerful) energy source, and could fire big ass plasma discharges at the planets they were holding hostage as a result, but self destructed as soon as you killed the load-bearing-boss inside.

Seeing as the magic space fleet got busted and no one ever learned how it worked to be able to build their own, I haven't seen anything at all about 'Eternal Empire technology' that would be worth a damn to modern galactic citizens.

Am I missing something, or was the villain of the week from this MMO expansion just very cool looking before the plot ended and they stopped mattering again immediately?

No that's basically it. And about half the reason I've always hated TOR's emperor--they spent so much time hyping the twatwaffle up as a literal god when he just fails constantly.

The other, much more important reason I hate the bitch is that every time he's mentioned in game the collective IQ of the entire galaxy drops below room temperature and you are forced to slog through at least six hours of "And so, our Brave Heroes ground their bare genitalia upon the hornet's nest, snatching defeat from the jaws of victory for the eleventy billionth time," before you can get back to anything remotely entertaining.

The sun generators are literally proto solar ionization reactors which means that Edin & Minda may become very relevant to any ship building business after they reverse engineer & improve this stuff before patenting it since from what i've seen it seems to be a thing kuat has a monopoly on meaning everyone else has to use less powerful reactors meaning less bang for your buck in your avg ship the same size as the one from kuat

It was mentioned to be a taboo even among the sith meaning Vitiate probably did one smart thing in his life and used it to get powerful before erasing all traces of doing so before manipulating the sith society into perceiving the thing he did as so abhorrent even the sith would not do it, like all royals, nobles & etc he did the easy thing to get powerful fast and then made it illegal (classic ruling caste stuff) and then it came back to bite him in the ass with the sith's perception of "essence draining" being what it was to the point where it made them team up with the jedi against him
